Growing up in Maryland, I've heard so much about Seacrets--all the nasty and trashy and raunchy. But when I had the pleasure of returning to Maryland for a bachelorette weekend of one of my besties, we all (none of which had ever been to Seacrets and half of us are in our 30s) were beyond elated with how much fun we had and how excited we are to go back! Now, I'm sure this is the type of place where it matters who you go with that defines how much fun you have, and obviously don't dunk your head under the water in the bay seating area, but the place is designed to have a GOOD TIME y'all! So just put your Margaritaville goggles on and enjoy!
While at the water tables it's a longer wait to get drinks once it gets busy, the bars on the sand are much quicker to serve.
You WILL drink well and eat well here. The food was actually delicious which shocked me, since it's a bar. Always gotta have the cream of crab soup (yes, even in the Summer, sue me!) whenever I visit Maryland, and I also had the shrimp salad sandwich--subbed bread for lettuce. Both were perfectly seasoned and yummy. The shrimp salad was refreshing and honestly the perfect lunch to enjoy on a hot Summers day. I wish I had pictures to share, but honestly I know myself and I cannot have a phone in my hands near water or sand.
The staff was unbelievably hospitable, from the bouncers to the waiters to the peace police to the bartenders, everybody was an absolute delight which I am ashamed to admit I was extremely surprised about especially considering how young the staff was. Seriously! Where do they find these young men and women!? They might as well work at a Michelin star restaurant with how kind, helpful, efficient and welcoming they are!
Most notably, Tara was our server last Saturday at the tables in the water and she is Wonder Woman! The amount of drinks she could trudge through the water, her memory of what we ordered was impressive, her recommendations were stellar and her upbeat attitude was infectious! We wished she could've joined our bachelorette group for the remainder of the weekend, she really brought so much fun to our day!
Another angel last Saturday was the bartender Chase! Not only was he attentive, quick to deliver our orders and a great conversationalist, but he quite literally protected our group from somebody's very creepy grandpa. Not even going to lie, it felt like a trafficking situation that this weird old man was trying to accomplish, but protector Chase never left our side every single time the oldie came back over to chat more. Chase would scoot right over to our side of the bar any time he saw the old man creepin.
This all being said, I would never bring a family here or kids as it's basically Spring Break every single day. It's a loud environment, so be ready to party, be social, make new friends and laugh your a** off but if you're not in the mood, then this is definitely not the place for you. And that's okay!
I can't wait to return to Ocean City and spend another afternoon at Seacrets to make more memories with my besties. Although next time, I just hope the DJ plays a better playlist.
