"A busy bayside bar complex in the Maryland party hub of Ocean City, Seacrets scratched plans to host a mass onstage mask-burning scheduled for May 7–8, saying the beach-stage area "is not quite ready," and noting that indoor mask restrictions would still apply; patrons had been invited via Ocean City’s visitors bureau to “the burn” with live music, beach-bar service, and commemorative T‑shirts, and the event could be rescheduled. Its calendar still lists a slew of DJs and live artists performing from 5 p.m. to 1:50 a.m. at its nightclub, beach bars, and stage. The decades-old institution—lined each year with palm trees brought in from Florida—remained open throughout the pandemic, occupies roughly six acres with close to 20 drinking spots plus a radio station and distillery, invites drinkers to wade in the water on inner tubes, and is arguably best known for its frozen “Pain in de Ass” layered rum runner and piña colada; its peak seasonal draw is between Memorial Day and Labor Day when upwards of 25,000 people can wait in line." - Tierney Plumb
