Seasoned Swine BBQ

I've driven by here dozens of times and never stopped. On this particular day I couldnt come up with a reason to keep on driving, so I decided to come here with a friend. First off: the place is on the second floor. So, you go in and then you the stairs to order at the counter before taking your seat. This means that, sometimes, the line to order stretched down the stairs. I'm assuming the first floor is where they slow cook the meats which is great, but upon fiest arrival I didnt know where to go. They have a Pepsi machine, if you drink soda, and some alcohol if thats your thing. The food was great. Like really good. The BBQ sauce options were also very nice. No complaints. Service was impeccable. Is that due to the place not being busy when we stopped by or are they always this great? I sont know, but in the middle of the day, in the middle of the week, it was fantastic. No complaints. All-in-all, I would return here in a heartbeat and only wish I could find a great barbecue joint in the Centennial area.

The name of this restaurant is quite ironic if you think about it. It’s called the season swine, but they could’ve been better in the seasoning area. I ate the swineoceros. It came with three sides, a jalapeño cheddar sausage, brisket, burnt ends, pulled pork, pulled chicken, and ribs. My top pics were the sausage and burnt ends. The pulled pork and pool chicken was very tender, however it just needed more seasoning added. Very similar to the brisket, it would’ve been dynamic if it had some flavor or seasoning to it. They have the concept of tender down, now they just need to ace the concept of flavor and seasonings. Would I come back, absolutely. They are one of very few restaurants that actually made a decent mac & cheese. The customer service was good. The spot was clean and some of the few foods I tasted were rated highly for me.

Stopped in on a whim while running errands. Parking is limited, gravel lot however the building is pretty vintage and I think it fits the ambiance. Don't be surprised if the lot is full, because the BBQ is some of the best in Colorado!! Tender and smokey brisket, crazy good burnt ends and a spicy avocado slaw to round it out. Served with delicious cold pickles and pickled red onions - it was everything I hoped for and more!! Great iced tea, huge drink menu featuring beer, ciders, seltzers and TONS of bourbon. Tabletop sauces to enhance your meal. One traditional and one mustard based. Did I mention the staff are rockstars and super friendly?? Run, don't walk, to check this place out!!

Best BBQ I’ve had in awhile, hands down the best burnt ends, turkey and brisket and the baked beans were so good. I was in town for business and now I have my go to spot when I come back. The people inside were amazing and super excited to see you walk in the door. I can’t say enough just go try it

Stopped in for some food before going to a football game. Super nice people working. Ordered the meathead and decided to get the combo. Mac and cheese was cheesy but not that dry crap some places serve you. Very nostalgic Mac and cheese. The sandwich was huge. I think is half pound of brisket and pork. The brisket was fall apart tender and the pork was easy to bite into. Not like when you take a bite and half the meat comes out. Bbq sauces were great on the sandwich. I was going to take my food to go but then I heard old country music and saw football on the TV so in stayed to eat so I didnt have to eat that monster sandwich in my truck. I had a good laugh about the piece of paper in the small stall of the womens room before I left.

Food was great! Has the platter that feeds 2-3 and all the meats were amazing! Picked the green chili mac and cheese, potato salad, and pickled coleslaw. Wasn't the biggest fan of the coleslaw but the other two were delicious. Both BBQ sauces, absolutely on point, highly recommend this spot!

Seasoned Swine BBQ: Disappointing Group Order Experience I placed an order the night before for an 11 AM pickup—pulled pork for six with mac & cheese. The mac & cheese was okay and came in a good portion, but the rest of the meal didn’t meet expectations. The order was supposed to include three pounds of pork, BBQ sauce, onions, and pickles. What we received was pork with the pickles and onions mixed into the same container. I had to separate them myself, and even then, there were only four pickles and a small amount of onions—not nearly enough for six people. We also only got two containers of BBQ sauce. Making the sandwiches wasn’t hard, but having to divide such limited ingredients between everyone felt awkward and frustrating. The pork itself seemed barely seasoned—more like a sprinkle on top than a proper rub or marinade. Despite ordering ahead, we still had to wait 30 minutes past our scheduled pickup time. For a place that promotes bold flavors and smooth service, this experience felt rushed and disappointing.

This place is great! I had the brisket & pulled pork sandwich, ribs, side of mac, beans, and banana pudding. Highly recommend trying whatever this place has to offer. Out of everything the ribs were probably my favorite...succulent, tender, well spiced and a little bit of a crunchy exterior offering up some texture variety. I will be telling others about this spot, and travelling from downtown Denver back to this place more in the future!

If you're looking for some of the best BBQ around, this place is a must-visit. The owner, Jacob, was an absolute pleasure to talk to--his passion for what he does really shines through. He brings his own "Iowa BBQ style" that sets this spot apart. The food was outstanding. What I really appreciated was that the BBQ wasn't over-smoked--you could actually taste the quality of the meat itself, with the smoke adding just the right touch of flavor. Every bite was tender, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Great food, welcoming atmosphere, and a dedicated owner--this is the kind of BBQ spot you'll want to keep coming back to. I know I'll be stopping by every time I'm in town from California!

Was craving a little bbq lunch in the area and decided to stop by! Plenty of gravel lot parking, but beware for handicap patrons, this establishment is on the second floor. Overall, I was craving wings and these smokey, candied wings were fantastic, a solid 9/10. The brisket and burnt ends were more lackluster in my opinion, unfortunately a bit too far on the drier side, but the bbq sauce went very well with it and helped moisten it right up. The rib was tender, juicy, and sweet, and if I were to come back, I would definitely get a rack of ribs. The bottom of the list today was unfortunate the mac and cheese, which had a heavy artificial cheese flavor, which some enjoy, but not me. Otherwise, I noticed the bathrooms here were very clean and tidy, you have self service rolls of papertowels and bulk bbq sauces, and while you have a little number stand for the staff to bring your food out to you, its self service to place your used tray back. Overall a solid option to itch that craving for bbq!

Wow, this is my all time favorite barbecue restaurant in Denver area. The delicious brisket "burnt ends" was the best I have had. The sides were great too with lots of options.

This came highly recommended by someone in our group. We arrived at opening time, pretty big group. We were quickly seated by the wonderfully friendly staff. I had the burnt ends with collard greens, baked beans and corn bread. I have had a lot of BBQ. I want to go back for dinner. And lunch again! Probably the best I've had in the metro area. The collard greens were cooked perfectly and for a second, thought I was back in the south. The cherry chipotle BBQ sauce was my favorite along with the Carolina mustard sauce. Super impressed. I asked about buying the sauce and was told it is in progress, which was good to hear. Even the Texas guy in our group loved it! Everyone's food came out quickly and orders were accurate. (Sometimes a challenge when a big group shows up right at opening, but it was a walk in the park for this crew.) Outstanding job to you all, I can't wait to come back!

Oh. My. Goodness. This was delicious. Was looking for a place for late lunch after hanging in Golden on a Saturday morning and bbq sounded good. My partner and I shared a platter with brisket, burnt ends, cornbread, spicy slaw, and green chile mac and cheese. They have their own custom sauces too and it tied everything together. All the flavors were amazing and we are definitely coming back to try the sausages and everything else. My partner and I were pretty full after sharing this meal. We'll have to bring friends next time so we can try more together! Also loved the view from the restaurant and the outdoor balcony with a view. Probably a great sunset dinner spot honestly.

On a lovely fall day, we wanted some bbq and decided to check out this wonderful find on W. Colfax in Golden. They have a nice patio, though it was a bit windy so we enjoyed our food inside. It's very casual, but comfortable. We ordered the Meathead to share, along with four ribs (you can order individually). We chose the beans and potato salad as our sides. All of it was very very tasty. The meat in the sandwich (prime brisket and pulled pork) was fantastic. The sauces were up to the task as well -- very tasty. We actually ordered the ribs as an afterthought after talking briefly with another customer about their ribs -- and we didn't have to order a whole rack. I'm so glad we did because they were equally as good. The staff was very helpful in all our decision-making. Look forward to a revisit soon!

9/6/24 My husband and I along with our large group of friends came here for lunch. We were able to order and get seated quickly. Seasoned Swine is a hidden gem for quick and delicious BBQ! We ordered the brisket nachos, burnt ends, spicy slaw, and banana pudding, and everything was fantastic. The brisket nachos were loaded with so much flavor, and the burnt ends were perfectly tender. The spicy slaw was a bit too hot for us, but it was a fun twist on the usual coleslaw. The real star of our lunch was most definitely The banana pudding--absolutely a must-try! The laid-back ambiance is perfect for relaxing, with plenty of room for larger groups. We'll definitely be back when in Colorado next time.

Solid experience. Friendly staff. Food was not bad, but doesn't compare to places in Texas.

Pulled pork and ribs were amazing!! So flavorful and the bbq sauces !!! Couldn't go wrong with any of them! Service was excellent and the young man that took our order was very helpful!!

Five stars do not do this place justice. Colorado's Crown King of Smoked Meats is a better fit. Add a championship belt, and you have it. If you're thinking about BBQ and reading this right now, the best thing you can do is just stop, and go try it. It's like prioritizing children, but my favorites are the ribs, burnt ends, and macaroni and cheese. However, it is all great. What it is you like, they nail it. And if you're the bold type, ask for extra "Swine Candy." Parking is great. The restaurant is always immaculate. And the staff is second to none. You get your food fast, and it is always right. Why are you still reading?!! Go now! :-D

Chicken sandwich was amazing barbecue sauce paired great with it and the og Mac is delicious, I loved the service very welcoming, also the music they played was pretty cool and food was to die for again 10/10 would recommend.

Recently had an opportunity to try Seasoned Swine in Golden. Be aware, location is not ADA friendly. We decided to try the Swinoceros because we wanted to get an idea for their bbq options. This comes with multiple meat options; brisket, burnt ends, ribs, pulled chicken, pulled pork and sausage. We enjoyed the burnt ends, pulled pork the most. Sausage was good but more a breakfast sausage flavor. The brisket was a bit dry, chicken was good, ribs fell off the bone but not as big of a a fan of candied ribs. Sweet potato rolls were enjoyable. Green chili Mac, beans delicious and vinegar coleslaw was nice. They have a really great patio to sit at and everyone there was very nice. Sauces were good, both red and gold available. Overall an enjoyable experience and we'd come back for a few of those items for sure!

We found SS very close and handy to our hotel. Great choice, quick service and fine BBQ. Place must be good, they had run out of smoked turkey! I tried the chicken, and was real happy. We finished off with a "smoked brownie". Something else! Jake, the owner, was on site checking with all the guests. Full service bar, and lots of tv's for sports. We'd go back if we get back to Golden!

After a long hike this place hit the spot. We got the platter and between 3 adults (1 dude 2 ladies) it was perfect. The ribs were definitely the star of the show and I personally loved the jalapeno sausage, and my friends liked the shredded pork and og mac. I highly recomend it food is good, parking in private and plentiful and out of the busy chaotic main downtown vibe.

First time here, and I was very impressed with it all. A buddy of mine flew in from NY, and we both tried it, and was very happy overall. We ordered the Swinoceros and it was plenty of food for two men. Everything was tasty and all the BBQ sauces were tasty. The service was fast, and were helpful in helping us decide on our order. As for ambiance, it was nice, if you like country music, it's not 100% my style, but that's ok. I didn't go there to listen to music. I came to eat, and eat I did. Highly recommend!!

Food was amazing. The only thing I would have changed about our plate is the spicy avocado slaw. The meat was super tender, with the brisket melting in your mouth. The burnt ends were so good we had to order half a pound to go. Best mac and cheese I've had. The service was great. There is a lot of indoor and outdoor seating and good blues music to set the ambiance.

Was on vacation in Colorado and tried this. I'm from Texas and I can say the bbq gave me southern taste. Definitely would try it again.

Food was very delicious! We had that huge sampler platter of brisket, chicken, burnt ends, ribs, pulled pork and sausage with 2 sides and bread for the four of us. Mac and cheese, slaw and the beans all delicious. Service is great; you order up front and get a number that sits on your table and they bring you your food. Margarita was ok. Ambiance is simple and place was pretty full!

It was soooo casual yet very delicious!! The food was brought out quickly and the staff were friendly. My burnt ends were perfect: tender. Margarita on the rocks was tasty. I'd definitely come back. Visiting from Texas and I approve! Thank you!! Blessings

Stopped by this spot off the highway in Golden after a day of hiking. Was not crowded and had a decent small parking lot. Ordered the Diablo sandwich and a small side of OG Mac. The staff was nice and the place was clean but the BBQ and Mac itself was just ok. They had three sauces available including their new cherry chipotle sauce.

This might classify as "BBQ" in Colorado, but if you're looking for genuine slow smoked BBQ, this isn't your place. The staff were friendly, and the pricing wasn't bad, but the "pulled pork" sandwich had the consistency of a grilled chicken breast. It was dry, and you couldn't taste much flavor. I got more smoke flavor from the bean than the meat itself. You'll need to utilize the bottle of bbq sauce on the table to keep your mouth moist when eating, but you'll get a surprisingly decent flavor from that, so kudos there. Overall, the place was clean and the people were kind, but as an out-of-towner from NC, don't expect true BBQ here.

First time in, and won't be our last! If your looking for some great BBQ and drinks, this is the place! Nice dining area inside or out, looks like thy have live music at night time, the gal behind the counter was fantastic! She suggested the chicken, pork, with chili sauce sandwich- this did not disappoint! This place has the best and I mean the BEST beans! You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table, nice set up! We also had a raspberry mule and raspberry bourbon drink - fantastic!!

Great quality food here for a fair price, their brisket for 1/2 pound was only 4 slices and you get more for your buck ordering the quarter pound of chicken. Overall though great food & was not crazy expensive either as we paid $33 for everything pictured to include the 8oz of Mac & cheese and beans. Would come back again! Is close to a lot of other cool stuff as well. Very clean inside & their bathrooms are right near you as well. There is outdoor seating & the service was fast & friendly.

Amazing pork sandwich. Terrific friendly service. I highly recommend. Upstairs overlooking the road is not so good a view but if you turn around you might find a nicer view behind the counter.

Fantastic! We had the "Swinoceros."A quarter pound each of Prime Brisket, Burnt Ends, Pulled Pork, Pulled Chicken, and Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage, plus three Candied Ribs. The candied ribs were amazing! This also comes with three sides. We had the cherry smoked beans, creamy potato salad and the green chili mac n cheese plus 3 sweet Potato Rolls. The leftovers were amazing the next day. So glad we chose this option! You will want to try everything!

Disappointing despite the positive reviews. My sons and I tried their sample plate and here are our ratings (we all agreed that pretty much every dish was under seasoned). Pulled pork and sausage link 7/10 best things we tried. But still needed sauce. Decent sauce. Burt Ends 6/10 just ok. Chicken 6/10 just ok. Ribs 5/10 good texture but again flavor just ok. Brisket 3/10 (my one son wanted a zero). Admittedly this is our favorite Bar-B-Q. Theirs was just bad. It tasted like an under seasoned crock pot roast but way drier. Not a hint of smoke flavor or salt or pepper. Not much going on at all. I don't know if we got a bad batch but this was some of the worst brisket we've tried in CO. For sides we had the collards, spicy coleslaw, and green chili Mac. Not a winner in the bunch. Again just a disappointing experience.

I wanted to love this place but have to admit, I was disappointed. Firstly, the positives: - Staff was great, friendly, and seemed knowledgeable. - - They offered a small sauce cup of a cherry bourbon BBQ sauce with a hint of kick - what was the best thing we had the entire meal. The needs improvements: - the restaurant entrance was clear but you needed to walk up steps to get to the dining space. Not sure how anyone with a disability would be able to come here. If you do need an ADA entrance, be sure to call and make sure they can accommodate. - at the top of the steps, there is the menu. That is great, gives you a chance to figure out what to order before getting to the register. The bad part though is that is the ONLY menu I saw. So we decided but then had to keep walking back to the menu to order. Weird and not time efficient. - I think the kitchen must be downstairs because our food was brought by someone who came in an outside door. Sadly, it was a chilly day and our food was lukewarm when we got it. Maybe they could install a dumb waiter to keep food inside but get it upstairs to the patrons. - the food was just ok. Not bad, but not good enough to return or mention to a friend. The potato salad had very good flavor but was very "wet," it was almost soupy! The Boss Sandwich was bordering on flavorless (we were thinking it would be spicy!). The best thing I had was the Candied Rib that I put the Spicy Cherry Bourbon BBQ sauce on. My husband did like the Carolina style mustard BBQ sauce. - dining tables. We were a party of two and the only two tops were high tables, which we avoid. So we were forced to sit at a table for six people. Fortunately we were there at a non-busy time so I didn't feel too bad about it. A lot of the items above are relatively simple fixes, and this spot definitely has potential!

Went on father's day. Place was packed and I have never been here before. I was truly amazed. Best BBQ since I had it in Tennessee. Hats off to you folks. Food is the best. Setting was right on with great music.

This place gets busy at lunch time, so be warned! I had the 1/4 pound Burnt Ends and they were great. Potato Salad was very good. Establishment was clean and I would definitely go back when wanting a BBQ fix.

We ordered the swinasorous, allowing us to try most of the menu. Quantity wise, it was perfect for our family of four. The ribs were our favorite, some kind of caramelized magic sauce. Brisket was also very good. Mac-n-cheese is very creamy, but just average. Service was very quick and friendly.

Great ribs and wings. Mac and cheese and collards are amazing too. Haven't had a bad thing from this place. It's all delicious.

Coming from Texas home of bbq we were on a hike and my daughter said she wanted bbq I told her that we don't get BBQ outside of Texas or anywhere close to Western USA but I ate my own words when I found this gem This is one of the best BBQ places in all of America. If you haven't been here you are missing out on quality BBQ

Excellent barbeque restaurant! Ribs were excellent. Meat fell off the bone and seasoned perfectly. The ColoBama sandwich (chicken with green chili queso sauce) was incredible. All of the staff are very friendly.

Drinks top notch the food was great. We had the burnt ends and the pulled pork and the green chili. Mac really good. Several people came by to ask how everything was cool atmosphere. The owner came by and made sure everything was good. We really appreciated that. I would've posted a picture, but we ate everything. Lol!!

What a fun place and the BBQ is delicious. I'd been hearing about Seasoned Swine and how good it is, so I had to try it for myself. I climbed the stairs to find a small but adequate dining area and the menu. It was too cold to sit out on the balcony which begs for a sunny day. So many tasty things to try, I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and a brownie for dessert. My sandwich was perfect, not dry, not covered in so much sauce one can't enjoy the meat... but a tangy, semi sweet, juicy, eat every bit of it pulled pork sandwich that sated my BBQ craving. The brownie goes without saying and was the perfect ending to my lunch. Looks like they have daily specials and there was a little stage set up in the corner, so I'm guessing they have live music from time to time. What a great addition to the neighborhood.

Finally tried this place, it's near us and we remember when this upstairs location was a verrry divey bar. It's fairly roomy inside, maybe 15? small to medium tables, 8 bar seats or so, and then two very large decks with lots of seating that will be great in warm weather. Sufficient parking. You order and pay for your food as you enter so be ready. We did 1/2 rack 'candied' ribs $18, 1/4lb chicken $6.00, side slaw and side beans $3.25 each. Not very cold canned beers $6.00 each. Decent liquor selection, some very nice bourbons! We'd just had take-out from Rib City the week before in Arvada and we agree, their ribs are maybe a bit tastier but it's really a tie. Both serve nice fat meaty juicy fall off the bone ribs, I'd maybe give Swine the edge on their delicious sauces though. The 1/4 BBQ chicken was delicious, all meat perfectly cooked with a tasty skin, some of their yummy pickle slices included. I'd have that again as well. Where Swine fails is the sides, neither the slaw nor beans were good enough to even want to finish them. The slaw was cut a bit too thick for my taste, I like it closer to shredded, and it was in nothing but vinegar from what I could tell. The beans, not much better than canned BBQ beans really. Rib City on the other hand, wow, slaw is in a delicious vinegar/very light mayo/horseradish dressing, cut finer, and their sliced green beans were great, with a woodsy smokey flavor, true southern food. I gobbled them up. It's good enough to go again for the ribs, the friendly servers and a nice open space with big windows and decks, and I wish them well. We'll pick up sides at the grocery store.

I love the que at this place. Ribs and mac n cheese are my favorites. Great view of the foothills. Service is fast as it can get for a bbq place.

Honestly disappointed it was our 1st time coming here after seeing a tiktok video and reading through reviews about how good the food is but honestly that wasn't the case for us at all today because when we received our food it was not hot or warm at all!! Every single meat was dry AF! Side dishes cold Almost as if they just didn't care! We drove from over an 1hr 30 min for a birthday & honestly wouldn't go back!!

Order up front, delivered our meal quickly and eaten ravenously! Guess we were hungry. Loved the El Diablo with a side of beans; I only had an empty tray left. Hubby got the 1/2 sliced brisket - ate the whole thing. Just delicious Mac & cheese was scrumptious. When in the area we will be back.

FANTASTIC burnt ends, amazing collard greens and the Chipotle Cherry BBQ sauce...::to die for. Great BBQ atmosphere, fast service, friendly staff and the food. I haven't had greens this good outside of North Carolina. So delicious, the burnt ends are perfect both in taste and texture. Glad beyond words to have come in today.!

We were looking for a quick lunch. The place is on the second floor of a building and seemed sort of suspect. When we walked in, we knew we were in the right place. The brisket melted like butter and tasted wonderful. I didn't have any thing to drink but water, but the whiskey collection looked absolutely stunning. Definitely go here.

I brought my mom here, from the east coast. She likes bbq, but never had some so good. The owner came and talked to us, and was a true delight. And that brisket, sheeeshhhhh! So good, appropriately priced and definitely worth the trip. I'll definitely be back for the wing Wednesdays!

WOAHHH! This place is absolutely delicious! Smoked on site! We ordered the combo plate deal they have which has all types of meat and 3 sides with rolls, delicious! Delicious bbq!! Highly recommend. Owners are opening another location soon in Aurora!

We ordered takeout. Food is amazing. We had to order early to make sure we got everything and we did. We also had the banana pudding yummy. Next time we should eat at the restaurant. Highly recommend. Would love to eat here again.

Did I really just drove 40 minutes just to try this place? Yes, yes I did! After hearing so many people recommended it in different local Facebook groups, I just knew I had to try it. Its a hidden BBQ gem located in Golden, about ~10 minutes from its downtown area. For this food adventure, we were able to try the Pulled Pork Sandwich, Ribs, Burnt Ends and their OG Mac and Cheese. The conclusion I came to after all of it, it was absolutely delicious! The Ribs were candied and you can taste that it was smoked with Cherry Wood. Their burnt ends is one of the best I ever had! It was so tender and combined with the BBQ sauce just absolutely hit the spot for my BBQ craving. Their OG Mac was filled with cheesy goodness and flavor. You just have to come by and check it out!

Outstanding barbecue. I have never had a bad piece of meat. The interior is nothing fancy, but they do have blues music in the background and occasionally live music. Service is good. It's a walk up to order, you take your seat, and they bring you your grub.
