"Both the original in the 9th and the new Tea Room are the kinds of Parisian pastry shops you might dream of, with pretty tiled floors, powder-blue walls, old-world display cases, and dainty packaging. Both spots are great for stocking up on everything from molded chocolates to macarons, as well as traditional sweets, jams, and marmalades to take home as gifts—you’ll also want to grab a cream-filled pastry for the ride. "Sébastien Gaudard, South Pigalle by 4uatre. Pâtisserie, ice cream, chocolate, confectionery: this is a serious gourmet heaven. The chef, originally from eastern France, offers a traditional approach and a delicate touch, right down to the last detail."

Honestly this patisserie has the smallest size of pastries I have seen in Paris. I actually don't mind that, as I believe that sugar should be consumed in moderation, but they are not cheaper because of the smaller size. I think it's about time that bakeries should list the price per kg. It's just insane that a tiny tart that you can finish in 2-3 bites can cost you more than 6 euros.

We happened upon this patisserie and everything about the pastry and the way we were received made it a perfect experience! Even when we wanted to move our table to the sun, the waiter complied with no hesitation. .

Too expensive. There are other bakeries with better value and taste compared to this one. I ordered one iced coffee and one dessert, and they charged me almost €18. Some staff can't speak English, which made communication difficult.

We had a lemon tart, eclair and apple tart. Everything was excellent and well prepared.

The place is very cute the bathroom smells of urine. Had 3-4 pastries it’s not bad but not wow the only thing that stood out is the croissant

Review rating doesn't reflect the great flavors this place offers. Maybe it is not for tourists who prefer an ice cream from McDonald's. I highly recommend visiting this place. Desserts are amazing. And staff was friendly even if you don't speak French. We ordered St honore, Paris brest, and Palmiers. Coming back next time I am in Paris.

I'm curious about how this bakery gained its fame. The place, featured in a Japanese magazine and well-known among the Japanese, disappoints. It's close to the Louvre, with an outdated interior and unresponsive staff. Despite three employees, they provide incorrect information and only one Asian woman was actively working.. The second floor is cluttered with dirty dishes. The coffee is a horrible – they use a Nespresso machine + etc. The renowned Croque Monsieur, a hassle to obtain, looks unappetizing for a €15 cost. Despite hearing about its accolades, I advise fellow Japanese not to eat here. Opt for the Herta brand croque monsieur from the supermarket – tastier and under €3. Just grab a croissant from this place instead.

Yelp
While the sweets look lovely from the outside... the servers, not so much... was it because I just ordered 2 macarons instead of a box of macarons? I had to taste it before buying more! I was so excited to see beautiful macarons, I looked at the selection but no one came to serve me, I had to go to the cashier to make my order, my French was terrible, so she was annoyed. Understandable, tourists come to the U.S. speaking English. However, I forgot the name of my flavor and had to go back to the selection to find it, she got further annoyed. I wanted to pay with a credit card, but my purchase was too small, no problem, I pulled out €20 Euros, apparently that's not accepted because the bill is too high for my small purchase. At this point she was just exasperated with me. So I had to pull out €1 coins to pay. Result: terrible attitude for OK macarons by French standard, but delicious by American standards. Save your money and walk down to Angelina's or if you're in Montmartre go to Christophe Roussel.

Yelp
Very disappointed with the customer service, my friend had us go in for a lemon tart. Being there I notices some crispy sugared looking treat I decided I wanted to try. The sales person didn't know what I was asking and asked the gentle man behind he counter to assist. Once I asked what the item was he said it was like a beignet... so I asked for one please. He seemed displeased at my lack of a large purchase and said "this is nothing". I now understand the low rating.

Yelp
Beautiful pastries and quiches. Immaculately clean. They spoke English and were very polite. You can sit upstairs or outside. Amazing views of the Louvre and the D'Orsay Museum. The Croissants are quite tasty, too. Highly recommend.

Yelp
It was delicious!!! And the staff was very friendly. I feel like this place has the wrong address though? Or maybe my GPS is off because it says I'm 3 minutes away from the marked location LOL

Yelp
My husband and I enjoyed listening lovely salmon sandwich plate suggested by our server. We also enjoyed a cappuccino and an espresso noisette along with two different delicious desserts. We would definitely return. The espresso noisette was one of the best we have had. Noisette means hazelnut. A must try if you come!

Yelp
The woman behind the counter was very nice to us as we struggled through ordering without any knowledge of French language. The quiche was FANTASTIC and the other pastries were yummy

Yelp
I'm giving 5 stars because we think they have the best Macaroons in Paris! Try the Vanilla first; the center is perfectly cool and the outside is perfectly crisp! Great atmosphere, adore able decor, and nice covered outdoor seating!

Yelp
The review for its Chausson aux pommes( Apple turnover) Bought it at 2pm when pastries are beginning to wilt. I heard that SB had won awards for its viennoiserie goods so I had to try something out. I bought a croissant for the wifey and the chausson for myself. Needless to say I manage to get 2 bites in before the piranhas that isn't family descended on it. It was good. The crossaint is buttery but not life altering.

Yelp
Worst of worst place! Really bad place! Everything isn't good and the attendant that looks to be the manager is so rude. In fact, I feel like many restaurants and patisseries in Paris have terrible services.I'd recommend you to visit this place if you want to ruin day.

Yelp
As a customer that believed in your brand from the beginning, to be honest I'm incredibly disappointed today by scam I encountered with the "Calendrier de l'Avant"! To start, there is nothing exclusive with your brand! In my neighborhood of the 17eme, there is a near by chocolate maker that is using the same Christmas tree packaging, which makes me wonder, why?? Second, the candy for the first day of the calendar tradition is terrible! It's a mixture of orange and mint with honey... If I wanted a cough drop, I could have gone to the pharmacy. For the price of 42€, I expect much more. This is last time I will purchase anything from Sebastien Gaudard. It is the biggest scam that exists in Paris within the same level as the Romanians asking for money at the Louvre. The words exclusivity nor quality can be attributed to your brand.

Yelp
The stereotype of the French service, the coffee costs 5 euros and we felt we were begging for it, while it was overpriced. Never come here.

Yelp
Unforgettable. I am talking about the price and the dull service, not the pastries. If u really want to try this place, just make sure to order them to go, if not they add about 3 euros extra per pastries, which is simply outrageous. We ordered an eclair, a tarte a la pomme and something with framboise which i dont remember the name. The indicated prices were in the 4 and 5 euros so we thought "great a renowned patissier at a decent price", well no, i ended up paying 7.20 for the eclair and the tarte (each) and 8.50 for the framboise thingy. Was it at least good? I dont remember. Even if it was it does not justify that price. Is it worth trying? Sure, as long as u order to eat out. This review is not about the quality of the pastries but the whole experience. They should really be upfront of both prices . The quality may have been good or excellent but the aftertaste of the bill is so bitter that it's the only thing that's left.

Yelp
The pasties are amazing, but the customer service on the second floor of the place is disgusting. Especially the waitress with a curly hair - she is thinking she has a right to comment on the customers and get in the middle of their private conversation. Please talk to her. Only because of her people do not want to come back at your place.

Yelp
The visit to this shop was memorable because it is one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever encountered. If you are American, you are not welcome. I'm sorry. After ordering pastries (in which we were not asked if we wanted them to go to or to takeaway), we sat down at a table. A man promptly told us we were not allowed to eat the pastries we just bought because they have a policy against eating from their to-go bags. I then said we would buy tea, and he walked away. Then, the woman we purchased from came over and said the same thing!! Instead of purchasing tea (7 euro for a cup), we ended up just leaving because we clearly were not welcome. My boyfriend thinks they didn't like that he had a backpack and looked like a tourist, but if you are going to be right outside the Louvre, who do you expect? Please avoid this establishment. Our pastries were yummy, but feeling terrible after the purchase was not worth it.

Yelp
Fine French pastry shop close to the Louvre and Tuileries. The place is small and elegant. We always pay a visit when we are in Paris. Exquisite pieces of pastry and a great selection of high quality teas. I rate it with 4 stars instead of 5 for the mediocre quality of the snacks and salads it serves.
