Yelp
2nd time dining here.
Got to the restaurant about 12:00 on Friday, completely empty... Uh oh, normally not a good sign at lunchtime in a popular area, but what the heck? had a good meal before.
The cashier was also the server and busser.
We ordered the papaya salad, (Thai style), fresh spring rolls with pork. For mains, I ordered the wonton noodle soup (probably more Chinese than this). My dining partner ordered the Pho Tai ,beef and noodle soup (more vietnamese than Thai).
The spring rolls came out first.two plump rice paper rolls stuffed with noodles, purple cabbage etc. Very tasty when dipped in the peanut sauce.
Next came the papaya salad. The heat was as we asked, crunchy veg's served with lettuce leaves to wrap. Pretty tasty.
Mains ....
Larfe bowl of noodles, wontons with some greenery. The broth was nothing special, but the wontons and noodles were good. My dining partner got the Pho Tai, meat was plentiful but well done. Standard plate of bean sprouts, basil and lime and peppers accompanied. Again the noodles and meat were good, but the broth was pretty bland. I guess we could have asked for hoisin, siracha etc, but it would have been nice if on the table.
Not a five star, what would have thrown it over?
Military discount, lunch specials, seasonings on the table.
Worth a third trip? Sure but maybe if we had more of the traditional Thai dishes, I'd give a different kind of review.
