A menu featuring Ethiopian dishes in a traditional dining room with natural light & blue interiors.
"This graciously run restaurant offers a rare taste of the Horn of Africa, specifically the cuisine of Ethiopia and Eritrea. Set at the corner of a shopping center, it boasts a commanding presence with bold signage and a nicely arranged alfresco section. Inside the incense-scented space, there are tiled floors, windows draped with woven fabrics and turquoise seating for a pop of color.Boldly flavored but subtly spiced stews arrive with spongy injera for sopping. The menu is meat-focused but there are plenty of plant-based items on offer. The combination platter is a great way to sample a bevy of bites, including the beef key-wot seasoned with berbere, beef alecha wot rich with turmeric; gomen, or stewed collard greens; and house-made cottage cheese." - Michelin Inspector
"Selam graciously introduces diners to the Horn of Africa, serving up Ethiopian and Eritrean cuisine. The incense-scented space, adorned with woven fabrics and turquoise seating, creates a sensory experience. Boldly flavored stews, accompanied by spongy injera, showcase Selam's commitment to both meat-focused and plant-based options, offering a combination platter for a taste of everything." - Ty Gaskins
"You come here for incredibly authentic Ethiopian food along a non-descript and unscenic Orlando road and that's exactly what you get—a delicious and totally transporting dining experience, despite the no frills setting. Sop up meats and stews redolent with spices with injera (Ethiopian bread) and don't miss the doro wat (spicy Ethiopian chicken stew). A platter of samosas is the perfect starter and people love the Awaze Tibs—cubes of beef simmered in spiced Berbere sauce. This is the kind of place that proves Orlando has way more to offer beyond the theme parks." - Terry Ward
