This is honestly one of the best coffee, sandwich, and dessert spots not only in Carlton but probably in all of Sydney!🎉 Everything here is done with so much care and attention to detail. The branding, the design, the atmosphere, it all feels very thoughtful and beautifully curated. You can really tell that a lot of passion has gone into creating this place. Their coffee is excellent, and we also love that they make their own iced teas and lemonades, which are incredibly refreshing. Inside the shop you can also find a selection of Italian cheeses, sauces, chips, and other specialty products, which makes the whole experience feel even more authentic. If you visit, you absolutely have to try their focaccia bread sandwiches. They are amazing. Today we had the Schnitzel sandwich, a Boston donut, and iced latte, and everything was delicious. They are almost always busy, which says a lot about how good this place is. If you’re lucky enough to find a seat, it’s such a lovely spot to sit and enjoy a relaxed Sunday brunch, breakfast, or lunch. Highly recommend visiting, you’ll love the food, the coffee, and the beautiful branding and atmosphere!🤍

Self Raised is an absolute winner. A delicious selection of pastries and savoury options both made to order and in the cabinet. The schnitzel sandwich looked incredible (noted for next time!) but is only available after 10:30am. We tried three slices of the pepperoni pizza plus the sujuk and haloumi focaccia both excellent. For sweets, we ordered the cinnamon scroll with Nutella, a churro donut (the clear standout), and a pain au chocolat, all of which were delicious. Overall, an excellent bakery with top-quality food. Highly recommend.

I arrived around 10:30 in the morning, and the place was already packed. Luckily, I only had to wait about five minutes to order, but right after that, a big crowd came in. Since there were lots of takeaway orders, placing my order was quick, though the food itself took a bit longer to come out. I tried four items, including the almond croissant, and the croissant (not in the photo) turned out to be my favorite. Overall, the food was a little on the salty side for my taste. Next time, I’ll be trying somewhere else for something even better.

I’ve been to Self Raised a few times now and am so pleased with each visit. The pastries and savoury baked goods are so yum! The venue itself is fun and comfortable and the staff are super lovely. I’m so happy this place is only around the corner to me as I can’t get enough!

Coffee here is really good! Best thing I’ve tried here is their chicken schnitzel sandwich. Their other deli sandwiches are quite flavourful. Only downside is their food is on the pricier end. Overall would recommend. Boston doughnut was really delicious! Pistachio cinnamon scroll was good. Standout was the banana banoffee pastry!

Their original donut is a must try! Love the soft and fluffy dough super packed with cream, truly enjoyed every single bite. The chocolate basque cheesecake was nicely done too with gooey centre and very strong dark chocolate flavour, but a bit overpowering as I like my cheesecake really cheesy. It’s more for chocolate lovers.

Heaps of people here when I visited on a Sunday. The queue was out of the door. There is limited seating. I only had a coffee and the pack of Brie cheese (which was delicious). Coffee was good. Would love to try the sandwiches.

The chicken schnitzel sandwich is perfect. The thick white fluffy bread with the crispy moist chicken is just such a good combination. Their coffee is so cute in the cans and reasonably priced. I’ve had a couple of their pastries as well (some of them are very expensive - $12 for one cinnamon bun) but they are very good.
