Day 3: we just drove around to a bunch of the waterfalls like this and a few others.

Seljalandsfoss and its neighbor, Gljúfrabúi, make for a fantastic double waterfall visit. Seljalandsfoss is iconic, with the rare chance to walk behind the falls, though crowds can make photos and views a bit challenging. Just a short walk away, Gljúfrabúi feels more secluded and intimate, partially hidden behind a cliff with a narrow, sometimes slippery path. Together, they offer a mix of iconic scenery and quiet exploration, giving you both the dramatic and the hidden‑gem side of Icelandic waterfalls.

This waterfall is worth a visit anytime of the year. And yes, one can walk behind the waterfall. Expect to hear screams of ecstasy and amazement from others—you may find yourself screaming also.

Must see - bottom of waterfall views are easy access for all abilities. We climbed to the top and went an additional 2 miles down the trail. Plan for crowds and all types of weather.

Now THIS is a foss worth seeing. To me, out of the countless fosses you should make this a stop. Preferably when the sun hits the water - its magical. You can also walk under the foss so bring a waterproof jacket + shoes if you want to do that. There's also a small cafe nearby (Faxi Bakery) that serves nice pastries. Overall, great for photos, sightseeing, ambiance and DEFINITELY worth coming here.

Beautiful water falls and many different views. Can walk to the backside of the falls and capture some amazing photos. Carry a proper water proof wear/ rain coat. In summer itself the temperature was almost 0 degrees.

This might have been my favorite waterfall stop during our Iceland trip. I loved being able to walk around and under the fall. I felt as if I was able to "get to know the waterfall" more personally than the other waterfalls we visited during our trip. The mist as you approached the waterfall got more and more intense, so definitely bring rainproof attire. The whole experience was exhilarating and memorable.

This waterfall is a must-see; what makes it special is that you can walk behind it. A parking lot is in the immediate vicinity, as well as restrooms, a souvenir shop, and a snack bar.

Amazing waterfall and you can walk behind it (*grab a raincoat). Great view. Also you can go in the right of the waterfall (as you stand with the waterfall behind you) and you'll find another waterfall inside a cave, pretty cool.
