Such an amazing spot in Miami beach, very lively and lovely!!! We always wanted to check and now that we have, was a delightful dinner!!! The food was perfectly served and the taste, OMG!!! 🥇🫶 for the chef, the frech cusine always is one of the best. We tried to get mostly the top dishes but all were delicious. Outside seating is lovely for a dinner and to get the Miami evening vibes!!! The service was on time and super nice people and ready to help!!!

Google
The best branzino I’ve ever had. The steak was perfectly cooked. Exquisite attention to detail. The mouse was light and airy but still rich and decadent 🤌

Google
Great happy hour! Very nice inside, but we sat in their outdoor seating area, which was perfect for the evening. The staff were super friendly and the food and drinks were great. We loved the tempura brussel sprouts and summer pasta. Would definitely come back again when we are in Miami.

Google
I would give this place a thousand stars if I could! Everything was incredible, yet the best part was the hospitality, since the moment we walked in we were received with a smile from Charlot very welcoming, followed by the attentive service of Martina & Delphine who was also very knowledgeable of the menu giving us delicious recommendations. Thank you all for making our last dinner in Miami memorable! Ps. Most of the menu items are Gluten free, we really enjoyed the Calamar, summer truffle pasta, Filet & chocolate mousse! Can’t wait to be back!

Google
Great place to dine, drink, and mingle. Chill environment. Appetizers and entrees are delicious and affordable. Plenty of seating available either at the bar, tables, or outside seating. Staff is very professional. Great selections of wine and liquor. Food is hot and fresh.

The food is pretty good. The $1.50 happy hour oysters weren’t great tho

Google
My recent visit to Semilla in South Beach was a satisfying dining experience. The Beef Bourguignon was a standout dish, with tender beef and a rich, savory broth that truly captured the essence of this classic French stew. The roasted vegetables were also a delight, offering a nice contrast in texture and flavor to the hearty main course. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. While there wasn’t anything particularly innovative or surprising, the quality of the food and the cozy setting made for a pleasant evening. I would definitely recommend Semilla for those looking for a comforting, well-executed meal in South Beach.

Yelp
Amazing atmosphere, ambiance, excellent food and welcoming people. A true hidden gem in South Beach that will highly recommend. Recommendations include Scallops, chateaubriand, salmon, filet mignon, mussels, and chocolate mousse. Best wines also. Classy

Yelp
Sammy, it's a great place to come with family or friends,, great food, great ambience, and decor... happy hour is great... But the full menu it is fantastic I've come to Sammy since they open and it has never disappointed

Yelp
Love the happy hour at Semilla! Beautiful and creative cocktails and plenty of happy hour dishes to choose from. You can't go wrong with any of the cocktails! I would've tried every one if my liver allowed it. We had the oysters, croquettes, calamari, and wagyu sliders. The only thing I wouldn't have again is the slider--didn't really do it for me. The croquettes were my favorite--the sauce is sooo good. I like how the vibe changes depending on whether you sit outside or inside. If you dine indoors, this spot is chic and intimate. If you dine outdoors, it's a casual vibe. Service is a little iffy, they seemed unenthusiastic most of the time and I felt like an inconvenience sometimes.

Yelp
Great bar, vast selection of wines and varied menu make this a great stop in South Beach. They won best French restaurant in 2021. Prices are quite reasonable and the ambiance is great. They also have lovely outdoor seating in the front. I definitely recommend this sweet spot.

Yelp
Delish meal!! Branzino served with broccoli, and pretty tender. Great presentation and even better service. Thanks for the great hospitality!

Yelp
A few small outdoor tables, which I wouldn't recommend, as there's no view--just a street on which cars speed by. Sit indoors. Indoors is a chick, sultry vibe. Dimmed lighting. Red lights. Seductive music lulling in the background. Perfect spot for a date or an intimate gathering. Not a lot of seating, as the restaurant is small, so be aware. Make reservations. We came in without reservations and were lucky with the last spot on the bar. That ended up being a very nice surprise--we got to observe the chefs preparing meats and fish on the grill that's situated "inside" the bar. Cool concept! We were entertained all night by watching the chefs at work. A dinner and a show! Exceptional service: courteous, swift, efficient, professional. We felt that elusive balance of being checked upon the right amount without being bothered or abandoned. All the waitstaff were top notch. We felt welcomed. Food was delicious. Everything we had was solid and satisfying. $4 French baguette with butter came fresh out of the oven, so we enjoyed that crunchy crust and warm interior. $21 summer truffle raviole was the only item I'd skip. The white truffle sauce was delicious and we lapped it up with that warm baguette. The three tiny pieces of pasta were disappointing. Tough and bland and chewy. Didn't really understand what or why. Not worth your valuable stomach real estate. $12 French onion soup was standard. Tasty. Nothing out of the ordinary to comment on. $38 NY strip comes with fries, which were of good quality, not too salty, not greasy at all. The meat was on a chewier/denser side, since it wasn't as fatty, compared to the more fatty & delicate ribeye cut. $44 ribeye special was the highlight of our meal. The meat was tender and juicy. The green beans were perfectly seasoned and had a great balanced flavor profile. $8 chocolate mouse was very sweet. You'll get tired of the monotonous texture and sweetness after the second bite. Good to share, so that you don't get overwhelmed with sugar at the end of your balanced meal. Would return!

Yelp
Semilla (@semillamiami) is a very cute and cozy French bistro in Miami Beach. Happy Hour is served anywhere in the restaurant so there is no need to fight for a spot at the bar- and thank goodness because there are a ton of items on the happy hour menu that you are going to want to try. In our case, we went for the $9 lychee martini, $7 wine, $8 croquettes, and $12 pasta. The pasta was very truffle-heavy, but it came with a side of fresh shaved parmesan that helped balance it out a bit. For our entrée, we tried the octopus. The taste was good, though a little on the slimy side. To close out the dessert was the highlight!... the Chocolate Mousse. It seemed as if they sprinkled shaved coffee beans on top, which really added to the rich chocolate flavor- well done What I tried: 1. Baked Brie, 2. Chocolate Mousse, 3. Truffle Summer Pasta, 4. Potatoes and Cheese Croquetas, 5. Mediterranean Grilled Octopus a la Plancha, 6. Lychee Martini

Yelp
Went for the Oyster night special. They were very fresh and such a great deal. Food is terrific and service on point, although a little rushed. Excellent priced wine list as well. Great neighborhood spot.

Yelp
Food and service are amazing. This a great neighborhood resturant. Have been coming here for years. Very yummy

Yelp
I had high hopes for this places due to the high reviews. The interior was beautiful and very romantic. However, the service was very poor. It took us an hour and a half to receive our food. We got our appetizers like 30 minutes in which were the croquettes and they were good. The duck was also good, however, the pasta was extremely average. I feel a bit disappointed because a lot of the tables that came after us got their food first. They also had auto gratuity of either 18 or 20 %, which is probably why the service was so bad. They don't care since their tip is pre-paid which is extremely predatory.

Yelp
A fantastic French bistro on Miami Beach - go for happy hour before 7pm to get good deals on great wines and cocktails. The Dover sole is spectacular as is the delicious chocolate mousse! A great fun restaurant!

Yelp
Friday 8pm party of 6 outdoors It was very busy when we got there. We sat outside but after 5 minutes , someone from the group wanted to see if we can move indoors . Unfortunately all the tables were taken but nonetheless , it was more of a preference so it's easier for us to hear each other and tough as it's directly on the street by a busy street . We managed and enjoyed our company over some delicious baguette , escargot bone marrow , beef carpaccio ( paired well with the l'ambrusco like red wine ), truffle ravioli ( a tad chewy for my taste ) , escarole salad . For main , we had the sea bass ( slightly too done ) to share , chicken and steak frites . Lovely ambiance inside with high ceiling, dim lighting, cozy feel . Attentive service by our french server . Could be a local spot for me if I lived on this side of the beach and in Florida . Love the bar seating, a good place for a glass of wine and to eat dinner .

Yelp
The ideal neighborhood restaurant is equally happy to see you if you want a cocktail or a four course meal. Both are excellent. Cannot get over how lucky to have this place around the corner. The owners pay attention to details and the excellent food and service attest to the pride they have in their business. The happy hour food and drinks are an unexpected treat too. Thanks!

Yelp
Mediocrity at its best. Semilla in Miami Beach is a prime example of an overhyped restaurant. Despite the buzz, the quality of the meal did not live up to expectations. The steak au poivre was saltless and overcooked, and the overall dining experience was marred by the addition of credit card fees. When questioned, the chef-owner condescendingly explained the fees, overshadowing any enjoyment of the meal. This combination of mediocre food and poor customer service makes Semilla a disappointment, proving that hype does not always equate to quality. Sadly manplaining the unit economics of his kitchen and rising input costs as issues doesn't make it ok to add opaque yet superfluous fees. All of this under a glaze of hubris as he will wave his arms around the room. Such a good opportunity mismanaged

Yelp
My favorite spot in Miami Beach and Miami. Wonderful atmosphere and food to match. The service is great with a personalized touch. Happy hour deals are great, and the regular menu as well. The steak au pouve is my go to with a glass of bourdeaux.
google avatar

Yelp
I have had the opportunity to visit Semilla several times and it's always a great experience. Sitting at the bar you have a wonderful view of the chef as he works through the orders. His attention to details is perfect. On tap is a smooth French beer, 1664. It has always been cold from the tap and enjoyable to drink, hence my pictures. The menu has some great options and even oysters if you would like the try. Including Wednesday is $1 oyster night. Make sure you stop by and give them a try, enjoy!

Yelp
Semilla is an absolute gem! The amazing food, excellent wine selection, and cozy ambiance make it the perfect spot for a romantic date night. A must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy French-inspired cuisine in Miami!

Yelp
This is a really quaint restaurant. We chatted with the owner and later on his wife. Their son works behind the bar. I love that it is family run. I ordered a few oysters to start. They were delicious and the sauces were excellent. I also ordered the French onion soup. This is a real French onion soup. I liked it but I prefer the Americanized version I am used to. I sampled the goat cheese salad and it was excellent. I loved my Beef Bourginion. I was surprised it had penny pasta. I actually had this dish in France and it was incredible. The one here was excellent as well. I do believe the chef and owner is actually from France which is awesome, especially since he is running a French restaurant. The croquettes were different from what I am used to but still good. The lava cake was so delicious. I sampled the Mojoto and enjoyed that. Service was great. This is a nice place to eat that is unexpected and just delicious. Oh yeah, I ordered a loaf of French bread to take home. I took a bite when I got hone to taste it at it's best. I liked it but thought Whole Foods and Fresh Market have just as high quality French bread.
google avatar

Nola F.

Yelp
I was very impressed with Semilla. It is a French restaurant with some unique menu items. I ordered a monitor to start. I enjoyed it and thought it was different from others I had in the past. I had a can of Coke that was ice cold. I ordered the goat cheese salad. This was very tasty. The goat cheese had a nice crspiness on the outside. I tasted a croquetta and enjoyed this. It was also different from what I have had in the past. My filet mignon was very good. The potatoes were flavorful. I also had some zucchini and asparagus. We ordered lava cake for dessert. This was excellent, served warm. The ice cream elwas delicious and I am a chocolate ice cream person. There are not many tables inside here. There are a few outside. You really need to make reservations unless you don't mind sitting at the bar. In that case, there are many seats. Our server was very good.

Yelp
UNBELIEVABLE FIND! The owner is absolutely fantastic- the food is incredible. This was our first time to Miami and we were kinda burnt out on every dinner being $400+. This was some of the best food and ambiance we've had on our trip. We'll never forget tonight! Thank you!
google avatar

Dipesh H.

Yelp
Excellent on all counts. Felt like a French restaurant in a village in France. The chef actually sat us, took our order and checked how the meal was afterwards. No complaints. I rarely give 5 stars. Food, ambiance and service were flawless.

Ana S.

Yelp
Love this place for happy hour, vibe is chill and food is great. The owner is always there and he is very friendly. Highly recommend.

Dave S.

Yelp
I had a pickup order and somehow had drama at the pickup because of an obnoxiously rude employee. She did not greet us or acknowledge our presence when we walked in, she then yawned within inches of us, and she stood right over me as I signed the check. My daughter has autism, and I am not sure if that is why she gave us this treatment - like the restaurant is too good for a child with autism. My daughter was very well behaved, btw. Then I got my food, and as we were leaving, she also did not say goodbye. I ABSOLUTELY NEVER do this, but I called back to complain because she was so obnoxious, and she happened to answer the phone. I explained why I called - because she was rude to my daughter and me; and then she got defensive and began yelling at me, telling me she was going to get the owner on the phone, like I did something wrong. She was so unbelievably unprofessional from the second we walked in. The food was good but the service was the absolute worst. Frankly, I'm disgusted at her behavior, and I hope that no one with a child on the spectrum ever visits this restaurant.

Yelp
We came here when we saw that this place has happy hour oysters for $1.50 each. We were walk-ins and seated immediately. The hostess/waitress took our order when we sat down since we knew that we came here only for the oysters. We did order a few drinks each along with the tempura brussel sprouts. Each oyster was juicy and meaty something different from the Upper East Coast ones. The tempura brussel sprouts took me by surprise because these brussels were not bitter and were crispy with each bite. The cocktails were a little on the heavier side. I was a little disappointed that the alcohol overpowered the subtle yuzu/citrus taste. We did not order much since we were in a rush back to our cruise and this stop was unplanned. We did call ahead of time to check with the restaurant if they could seat us for happy hour which they informed us they could. When we did arrive, we were informed that we had to be done in 1 hour since the table we sat at was reserved for another party, which wasn't a problem for us since we did inform them many times that we were only here for the happy hour. We stayed a total of 30 minutes. The stay was kind of disappointing seeing that the hostess/waitress that was in charge of our stay was lowkey rushing us out. We ordered 15 oysters first knowing that there wouldn't be room at the table and then another 15 when we finished the first order. The waitress kept trying to see if we were going to order anything else, also hinting that we should order main dishes (which we were not here for due to the tight schedule). When we told her we weren't she seemed kind of pissed as if we weren't going to rack up the bill high enough for a decent tip, which leads to the next part of gratuity. We were a party of 4 and usually, gratuity is auto-applied with parties of 5 or more. We didn't have a problem with the gratuity since we were planning to tip more than that, but seeing that she went ahead and auto-grad us we didn't say anything. We were just disappointed with the service since it is unmoral to auto grad a party of 4 just because we didn't want to spend a certain amount so she could have a higher tip out of the bill. The food here is good but just be wary of the gratuity on the bill.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour and was instantly welcomed with great energy and smiles. Our server Maria was fantastic! I ordered the potato croquettes and calamari. The croquettes were good but wasn't the biggest fan of the sauce that came on it. The calamari was good as well and the tartare sauce was on point but I could have done without the fries in the calamari. I vote for more calamari instead! :) Here comes the fun part! I did receive through Yelp a complimentary diplomatico rum mojito and let me tell you, it was one of the best I've had! So I highly recommend trying one if you swing by this cute spot. I would definitely go back and try some other bites on the menu. Cheers!!

Michael S.

Yelp
OK, this is the best find on Miami beach that I've had I'm going all in on the food and they make the best baguette I have had in

Carolyn C.

Yelp
Very disappointed. Reservation made on Dec 2 for Dec 11. Party of 6. Requested indoors. Arrived and were seated on the sidewalk and told we asked for outside although confirmation stated dining room. Sat part of the time in the rain! Main course took over an hour to arrive. Only 5 of the 6 meals arrived and we were told the 6th (chicken) would take another 10 minutes!!! We cancelled it at first and then agreed to take it to go. (Felt pressure from waitress) We were comped 2 desserts for the 6 of us. Shocked to be charged for the chicken!!

Yelp
Such a special place I almost don't want to write a review. Everything is delicious and fresh. I don't think you can go wrong here. From the baguette to the beef bourguignon- a complete serve.
google avatar

Yelp
Great evening. Excellent Dover sole. First class service. Good wine. Coming back soon.

Katelin T.

Yelp
Wonderful fresh food and attentive service. Really top notch classic French dishes at a great value- and also some creativity, like the escargot in bone marrow.

Yelp
One of my favorite neighborhood restaurant is Semilla, Chef Fredric Joulin choices of food are great, it is always consistent, pricing is right, not outrageous Miami Beach pricing, their Happy Hour is great, with actual food from the menu and not cheap choices, really great, Laetitia helped us, very attentive and lovely, she is one of the owners, really great service, I will see you soon We enjoyed oysters, Mini Tuna Tacos, Potatoes & Cheese Croquetas, Calamari and Chicken/Veggie Potstickers, all very tasty and even better with Prosecco @semillamiami
google avatar

Michael T.

Yelp
Semilla is the kind of hidden gem that feels like a true neighborhood joint but it's sophisticated yet casual and while it feels like the kind of place that should be reserved only to celebrate life's special occasions, it's priced in a way where one can go more often and not feel guilty. The service from hostess to busboy to waiter is some of the best I've had in Miami. The food is superb! Truffle pasta, sliders, and cauliflower were my latest meal. Portions are great, flavors and temperature spot on. If you want to feel decadent this establishment is a must in the South Beach area.
google avatar

Rachel T.

Yelp
Enjoyed a delicious dinner here! Got there in time for happy hour and got to try a bunch of bites off that menu: the pasta, the sliders, and the baked cauliflower. All super yummy. We also had the mussels and a steak. We had to try a couple of desserts because there were some things we never really see on dessert menus: the pavlova (so unique and delicious), and the profiteroles (SO yummy with the ice cream and hot fudge to pour over). Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
What a fantastic restaurant. I've lived in Miami Beach 12 years and can't believe this is the first time coming here! Recommended by clients that are locals as one of the BEST restaurants on the beach and they weren't wrong. The food is authentically French (we would know, my mother is French/Belgian and I have grown up with French cuisine) we had the tuna tartare, endive salad and onion soup. All were excellent. We then had the steak au poivre and les moules and they were outstanding! To finish we had the chocolate mousse- and I even asked the owner to confirm it was made the classic French way (as my mum used to make it) and it is! Only eggs and chocolate no cream! Hands down the best mousse I've had in Miami. It was a pleasure to be hosted by the owner and his wife. It appears all the staff are either related or have been working there a long time, a truly hospitable experience, not flashy or stuffy, just quality food in a warm and lively environment. No wonder it's been a local's secret. We will be returning often since we live close by. I forgot to mention the prices are very fair for the quality.
google avatar

Charles L.

Yelp
I have been to Semilla several times over the years and always enjoy it. The hospitality is great, the food is great, and the ambience is great. I love the eclectic farmhouse feel of the dining room. I had the branzino fish which was cooked to perfection. My friend and I shared the beef tartare which was very enjoyable. The highlight of the meal was the Floating Islands dessert. So good! I highly recommend checking out Semilla. You will get a great meal in a terrific environment without breaking the bank.
google avatar

Christian V.

Yelp
I can't say enough on the experience, from the second we walked in we got greeted by a friendly couple at the bar as we're waiting for our table. The staff and clientele made us feel at home. Come time to sit down and order food, recommendations from the owner were welcomed. He did not steer us wrong, a unanimous decision of my party and I was that this was one of the best meals and experiences down here in Miami thus far, and paralleling some of the phenomenal experiences we've had in the tri-state area.

Ser Z.

Yelp
I have been to Samia before and the food was OK this time the food was just terrible I order six oysters they were shucked in advance And they were dry. I told the way there about it I only ate two and returned the last six anyway they had no reaction to it. Order the duck confit The potatoes that the duck was seating on were cold and tasteless. I tried to put in salt and pepper to no avail. We order the couscous, which was a special idea. Vegetables were well cooked, came In a broth The meats were dry, and it looked like they had been cooked way in advance and left to dry Very disappointing the chef is a very good chef and the place is a nice place but the food was way below par I took a chocolate mousse to go, and that was really good

Kylie M.

Yelp
Awesome service and food. $1 oysters on Wednesday is an amazing deal in a beach town.
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Classic & delicious French food, everything is so good. Family run, such nice staff/owners, watching the chef in the open kitchen is incredibly impressive. Well priced for great food, my favorite neighborhood spot makes me feel at home but I often meet people that come from all over. Always consistent with great vibes.
google avatar

Colton C.

Yelp
See my checkin comment. But we came here, literally told the server we just wanted some wine, pointed out the free drink checkin (see pic AND on their business page!!), then the server gets us our wine and says they can't give us the free drink because "it's a restaurant, where there's food..." yeah, duh, but where's the stipulation where you can't have the free drink without food?? Dumb. Don't come here. We also still ordered 2 glasses of wine and weren't offered the checkin special....
google avatar

Gintare G.

Yelp
Absolutely the best! Risotto amazing! Steak amazing! Foie grass hands down best in whole Miami! Wines fantastic! Oysters - tell only to your best friends! Atmosphere- such a good vibe, calm, relaxed! Honestly I want to give credit and I do not want people find and ruin this place!

Patricia N.

Yelp
Another amazing experience !!!! This place is just a gem . From cocktails to appetizers and main courses . The staff is just a delight We had the foie gras , oysters , bœuf bourguignon... .. im just always so impressed about the level of service and the level of quality of the food I'm very happy we have such an amazing French restaurant in south beach Family owned . A pure gem

Dominic ..

Yelp
Stay away. We (a table of five) waited over an hour for our entrees. The table of two next to us who sat down and ordered after us got their entree before us. I flagged the chef down. And he proceeded to mansplain to me why it was easier to serve a table of two than a table of five. Ok so we should not come as a group?! There was no apology during the wait. He said he was apologizing but it was a non-apology apology. He basically talked down to me like I was wrong and the long wait was appropriate because the food would make up for it. It wasn't. The pasta was way over cooked (I saw it sitting on the counter while the other dishes were being prepared). My friend specifically asked for it to be al dente. The chef's response to me was appalling and shocking. I've never felt so belittled by a restaurant. Maybe a weeknight meal is better but be warned about a weekend night.

Genesis L.

Yelp
We started off with some calamari's, oysters and finished it up with a delicious steak. I had a delicious Lychee martini to go along with my oysters. The bad lady was super helpful and the food was delicious. They were playing music at the bar and it was a vibe.

Simona S.

Yelp
I don't usually leave a review but this time I had to. It is my first time that I eat at this place and I came because it was pouring outside. I will definitely come back very often and I will recommend it to everyone that wants to eat really good food. Every meal that I had was beyond delicious and the staff was amazing, especially Sebastian and Arthur.

Great food, great service, right music Great oysters from Washington Every Wednesday oysters 1$ I like it a lot

Yelp
Went to happy hour with a friend at Semilla on South Beach. This is another small jewel on the beach. Their happy hour has a number of good appetizers. We had the tiny tuna tacos, potato and cheese croquetas, crispy calamari, and chicken/veggie potstickers. All four dishes were very fresh. During happy hour Semilla also offered oysters for $1.50 each. We couldn't pass up a deal like that so we ordered a dozen and they were delicious. Their listing of happy hour drinks is also impressive. I had their mojito which was good and finished with a glass of Prosecco. All happy hour drinks are seven and eight dollars. Next time I plan on checking out their dinner menu. #miamibeach #frenchbistro #happyhour

Very cute atmosphere. I loved the beef tartare. Free Mojito when you check in on yelp ! Come for seafood Wednesdays for $2 shrimp $1 and oysters, yum! Make sure to come early they may run out.

Yelp
I have been here before and I am keep coming back because of good experience. 1st important tip don't check in here for free mojito, they don't do it and probably don't know how to remove it or just don't care about it. 2nd tip they really have a good happy hour (QR code menu) croquetas - out of this world, oysters - great, mini tuna tacos - ok. Wine on happy hour $7 (pinot noir in my case, from France) decent poor, good quality. Service great, begging from busser finishing with owner. You'll hear a lot french language around here (in case you like it, or not). And 3rd important tip for pet owners, they are very pet friendly (at least with my golden retriever). Definitely it worth it.
