Semilla

"In a street teeming with restaurants and art galleries, Semilla ("seed" in Spanish) is a bistro with an exceptionally friendly atmosphere and trendy, industrial-style decor. In the kitchen, which opens directly onto the restaurant floor, a young and enthusiastic team work exclusively with fresh, selected produce: sea bream ceviche, leche de tigre, quince confit with hibiscus and kohlrabi; roasted cod, Granville cockles, Roscoff onion, Poiré sauce. Delicious and brilliantly done!" - Michelin Inspector

Excellent, imaginative food with choice of 2 or 3 courses. The chicken was incredible as was the pan-fried fish. It is deservedly busy with tourists and locals. Friendly, helpful staff who are knowledgeable and passionate about the food and the wine. The waiter explained how each dish was prepared and when I was unsure which wine to order, he kept bringing me a small amount of each to try. They even made beautiful pasta (off the menu) for our 8 year old. A mark of great service all round!

Had a delicious meal here during our recent trip to Paris. Having visited Freddy's on numerous occasions, we thought we'd give their partner restaurant a go. It did not disappoint; the octopus and veal were extremely tender, but the star of the show was the lamb shoulder. Make sure you come hungry, as the portion was huge! Absolutely delicious.

Google
Pleasant experience at this restaurant. The food was tasty and well-prepared, with a good variety on the menu. Service was polite and efficient. The atmosphere was comfortable and cozy making it a nice place for a relaxed meal. Portions were decent, and prices reasonable for the quality. A solid choice for a casual dinner oř special event. Recommend for visiting.

Google
My favourite meal in Paris ever!! Wonderful tasting menu from a young, and very talented, team. Utterly charming staff, and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. If I could, I'd go back and do it again tomorrow!! Highly recommend it.

Google
A high end but still non/pretentious culinary experience. Clean flavors, quality ingredients, a well curated tasting menu and a great wine pairing to go with it. The dishes were balanced, tasty and showed great variety and creativity. The staff is friendly and accommodating, willing to adapt and great at handling constructive criticism. Prices are fair, drinks are good, the wine list is extensive and the sommelier is very knowledgeable and can certainly help find the right wine for you and your dish. For a more rustic experience with the same quality of ingredients and a more homey atmosphere, try Freddy's right next door. The flavors of a charcoal grill and the variety of tapas like dishes is hard to beat, albeit it's a different kind of experience altogether!

Google
Favorite meal we had in Paris; I have never been to a restaurant so refined yet welcoming. We went in for a late lunch and had the salt-baked sea bass to share (which came filleted with a lemon-y beurre blanc, a green salad, plus a head of roasted cauliflower) and then dessert. All the food, including the dessert, was perfect down to its details. The overall experience was very pleasant too; the service was attentive and the interior modern but warm, and it was impressive to watch the well-run open kitchen. Thank you for a wonderful lunch!

Google
I visited this restaurant with my mom and grandma, and we came here after already being very full from a late lunch, but still found single course delicious and finished everything until the last bite. We chose the testing menu which would be decided by the chef depending on the day, and also ordered one wine pairing. The wines were paired perfectly and each one was distinct, matching with the dish just right, and the sommelier was very enthusiastic about wines, and really explained each one in a very understandable way. We were pleasantly surprised with the desserts at the end, and finished all of them even though we were already stuffed to the brim. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also very nice, and the open kitchen was quiet and professional. We will definitely be returning the next time we visit Paris!

Yelp
What a great find! I was looking for something relatively veg-friendly that my partner would still dig. We called Semilla and got a fairly last-minute reservation at the best table in the house! Their wine list is very fairly priced and I think this ended up being our overall favorite restaurant on our trip. We've recommended it to everyone traveling since. It's very French but the staff also explained our dishes well in English. 10/10.

Yelp
Heard about this place from a realtor friend who would have eaten here every night of a recent visit if they could have acommodated her. Really enjoyed the pre fixe menu combined with the wine pairing on our first visit. The bar guy was a down to earth gem so kuddos for having him. The staff are fantastic and kinda fun. The hits of the evening were the mushroom soup and all the fish courses, but there were no real issues; the only thing we questioned was the way the seared leeks were cut in one dish, but that was a nit. We also took all the bread in a to go bag which suprised the staff but hey, if you are stuck in a hotel for 9 days, having some delicious bread with the coffee goes a long way! The dining space was also very comfortable so would highly recommend.

Yelp
Amazing! One of the best meals we had in Paris, and so very reasonably priced for their five course with or without wine pairings, or set menu options of which you could do starter/main €55, main/dessert €55, or starter/main/dessert €65. As the menu probably changes here and there dependent on season and what's in season (like peas now in spring,) just know that the food was delicate and delicious. Service was equally lovely. Staff explained the dishes as they came out. Bread was even given its own little holder when the table was too full with food. They have a sommelier (OK, I know it's Paris, but still!) and he'll walk you through their offerings. Make that reservation. We just got lucky with an early walk-in for dinner (7:30pm).

Yelp
Second time here. Sat at the bar again. Tried the tasting menu and a bottle of wine. This time during winter. The food was still awesome. And the atmosphere was cozy but less over crowded than last time. 5 stars

Yelp
My wife and I dined at Semilla last night. Super food, attentive service. But when I was presented with the credit card machine, I was surprised to see a screen asking me to leave either a 10%, 15%, or 20% tip. We haven't been to France for many years, and I had always understood that the service was included in the food price already, unless the menu states "service non compris." But I figured things may have changed since then, so I added 20%, as I always do in the U.S. Wrong! As it turns out, service is still included. So in effect I paid it twice -- 35 euros the second time. This is a pretty reprehensible way of taking advantage of gullible tourists. Beware if you go.

Yelp
Very much like a clean modern French spot. Favorite dishes falls on the vegetarian dishes. - Praline Cabbage : our favorite. fresh, tasty, unique, innovative. Second Favorite : Smoked Duck Tartar - there's a five spice or Asian flavor taste. I enjoyed it a lot. The pretty good- - Chicken Entree : nothing too stand out but quite perfectly executed dish. Chicken was clean and very juicy. Crispy Skin gives texture. - Artichoke : not bad but nothing much to say. The dislike - Pork Belly : just very heavy and tough meat.

Yelp
We had the five course tasting menu which was a delightful explosion of the most delicious food. Bring your senses--the smell, the taste, the texture, the feel of service so welcoming and educational. Semilla has a new menu since the holidays and it's one that tastes perfected by time. I appreciate that they accommodated me as a vegetarian and my wife as a pescatarian. I'm so glad we had read about Semilla and were able to include it in our short holiday. Get to Semilla and see for yourself, you will not be disappointed and you may very well wonder--as do I--how soon you can come back.

Yelp
Great food with a great staff! We did a three course meal and they did not dissappoint. For myself, I started with a ceviche dish. The presentation of the dish was spectacular and it tasted super fresh. I moved on to a veal dish and it was a super tender piece. The broccolinis were crunchy and had a good texture. Finished off my meal with the pistachio ganache. I apparently ended up with the last piece and I was so glad I got to have it. It was the perfect sweetness and the crust with the cream were just fantastic. Overall, this three course meal had plenty of food to be full from and allowed you to have a great tasting of their menu. This place is a must book.

Yelp
Fantastic modern french dining experience. Enjoyed an amazing 3 course meal with main pork dish and amazing wines to pair. Staff was inviting and friendly. Herman was our server. Best

Yelp
The place is located on a busy & lively street/area - really fun to soak in that special Paris atmosphere just walking around & arriving at the glass door entry to this place in casual but hip outfits. Be sure to make reservations as this place is very popular during peak dinner time (7-10 PM). They have bar seating for drop-ins but that gets filled up too. Even though all the seatings were indoor, the place felt airy (lots of windows, simple modern seating & decor) and along with attentive & unpretentious staff created a really comfortable & conducive atmosphere for enjoying their excellent French/Asian fusion using local ingredients. There was no fault note with any of the dishes - everything was simply prepared so that flavor from each ingredient shone through. I loved the refreshing, fruity cocktail to start things off. Then came dishes of prawns, mushrooms, asparagus, anchovies (ordered second helping), fish and surprisingly delicious leek. All capped off with yummy cappuccino & divine chocolate cake with sorbet. What tipped the experience to five stars was the staff. Not following my own advice, my friend & I decided to crash without a reservation around 7:30 PM (had reservation in another part of town but too lazy to track there - yes, too spoiled for choices). The host first said there's no opening but he was expecting another party that may be a no show. He called them to confirm cancellation & seated us. He did all this with the most professional courtesy without drama. We interacted with various staff during our dinner & everyone was consistently friendly, knowledgable & seemed really to enjoy their work at this place. Kudos & can't wait to come back again.

Yelp
We had Semilla on a long list of places we wanted to try during our way-too-short stay in Paris. We came here the evening of our arrival, and we were not disappointed. Our dinner started with a refreshing gin and tonic with grapefruit and dill, and a glass of rose' from Bandol. As appetizer we shared the marinated tuna with mint jelly. The tuna was very flavorful and super-fresh; not sure about the mint jelly, though, as it was pretty strong, but certainly an unusual and interesting combination of flavors. As main course, I got the whole wild turbot special. This was a phenomenal dish: the turbot was perfectly cooked, flaky, and very delicious. It came with a side of wild salicorne that was absolutely amazing: I don't think I've ever had this vegetable before, which grows in marshes and salty water environments, and has a wonderful, fleshy and crunchy consistency. I absolutely loved this dish! My wife had the tiny artichoke ravioli with a frothy mousse were absolutely delicious: packed with flavor, I could have eaten 5 dishes of these babies! For dessert, we then had poached rhubarb with hibiscus jelly, sheep ricotta, and honey. This wonderfully complex dish was as colorful as it was delicious, with the light sweetness of the honey and sheep ricotta playing contrast and giving great balance to the sourness of the rhubarb. A couple of suggestions: 1-If you don't have a reservation, just show up at 7pm when they open. You should be able to get a stool at the bar, if not a table. 2-If you call to make a reservation, try to get the two seats in front of the kitchen.

Yelp
This was our final dinner at the end of a wonderful and delicious week in Paris. Semilla was an excellent way to go out. The food was exceptional, the atmosphere was cozy and comfortable, and the staff was so helpful in choosing wines and entrees. If we are ever lucky enough to be in Paris again, I would most certainly plan to eat here.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants I've been to! Delicious and beautifully presented food, friendly staff, and elegant ambiance! We really enjoyed our meal and drinks. The staff really cares about how welcome you feel and explaining menu options. It was also fun to see the kitchen staff put together each entree and observe their energy and attention to the details of every dish.

Mayte G.

Yelp
What a waste of money and time. Not a single person in our group liked the food. The portions are soooooooo small that even after ordering appetizers, main and desserts we still had to leave and go eat more food somewhere else. It's shame to come all the way to Paris and eat terrible food.
google avatar

Michael K.

Yelp
The best meal; among several spectacular ones, this trip to Paris. The food was on a different level, only comparable with the best restaurants. I would argue that the quality is as fine as any starred restaurant anywhere. The dining room and service are elegant and chic while not being pretentious. The wine list is short, relevant, and spectacular. I would have expected it to be more expensive considering the quality.

Yelp
$$$ upscale dinner spot but very good if you're looking for a nice meal. The salad and bread came in a very large portion, which was great. The côte de boef was the MVP and came with amazing mashed potatoes. The beef was cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes were buttery deliciousness. Nice gravy sauce to top both. English speaking and friendly staff. Would recommend!

Yelp
Best dinner in Paris! Small place with huge share of love and dedication to food and wine and service - we had The Best evening!! A pleasure to watch the kitchen working with calm intensity - they seem to enjoy each other as much as their tasks at hand. We loved everything about this place - treat yourself to Semilla!

Yelp
My wife and I loved Semilla. Food was excellent but wonderful wait staff took it to the next level. Parisiennes aren't always happy to speak English. They were great and we appreciated that they accommodated us with English menu. Staff was working hard and working together. Open kitchen gave us opportunity to see kitchen in action. Really nice to see. I don't usually write reviews but this experience required a 5 star review. Menu a little limited but fine with us. I'd suggest the tasting menu. More of a local vibe which we enjoyed. We use Google maps to get us there walking. 54 Rue de Seine is the whole building. At the address there was just 2 non descript green doors so we were confused. About 20 meters passed the 54 building entrance was the restaurant. Glad we called and figured it out. Signage was poor. Hostess, somewhat jokingly, said they were so good they didn't need to advertise. Maybe our new favorite in St. Germaine area of Paris

Yelp
My recent visit was a little on disappointment. Ravioli soup (new item on menu?) can be warmer, and on underwhelming. Tuna... veggie bed was awesome I could eat big bowl of it! But tuna itself was good but not out of this world good. What shines the most was the sweets. Strawberry iced sweet was just out Of this world awesome! I grow up near strawberry farm and it just reminded me of picking fresh strawberries in the morning!

Yelp
Fabulous! Our concierge recommended Semilla to us and it did not disappoint. I don't know about you, but we know no better way to start a meal than Champagne while we review the menu. My wife had the cold broccoli soup and I had the tomato and watermelon salad. Both full of flavor and very refreshing. Then we dove in to the lamb braise for two, which could have been for four. It was huge. So tasty. Paired with a nice carafe of full bodied Syrah from Saint Joseph. Friendly service -- we will be back.
google avatar

Yelp
It's been so long since I dined here but I can honestly say go here! If you have questions about the menu? Ask. Semilla is an amazing restaurant in the St. Germaine area of Paris. I do recall having one of the best pumpkin soups I've ever had. It was velvety, full of flavor, like eating a liquid hug! I did have roasted sweetbreads for dinner. It was recommended by the diners next to me (from Chicago). They were tender and I would order them again. I didn't receive an English menu, but the staff was more than willing to help out. I'll be back the next time I'm in Paris!
google avatar

Uri P.

Yelp
Service is 10/10! We visited Semilla on a Tuesday night after 9pm. It wasn't 100% busy but it was good enough for them to seat a party of 4. The service was amazing. Our waitress was tentative as any fine dining restaurant should be, but she was extremely helpful since we weren't french and very patient with us taking forever to order. The food was absolutely amazing and the desserts - just as good. I highly recommend!
google avatar

Nicole O.

Yelp
Loved this place. It's all locals, so no English here. The waiter had to explain the menu to us in Spanish. Great vibe. We had a reservation at 7:30, which was a little on the early side. I'd go with 8/8:30. My sister and I ordered the dorado and grapefruit ceviche (our favorite!) and an onion tartlette that had an egg yoke on top (also good but not like anything I've had before). For our main we split an order of scallops that were cooked to perfection, great flavor, great texture. And of course we ordered dessert - an amazing little flourless chocolate cake that was melt in your mouth delicious. We can definitely confirm that the French not only know how to do bread the best, but also chocolate.

Yelp
OMG OMG WOW! Take all of my money please ! It was my family's first time visiting this restaurant based on all the reviews and I'm so glad we scored reservations. The food is absolutely phenomenal here as was the service. Our server, I believe his name is Bobby per the receipt, was exceptional straight from the beginning. Pros - We were seated right away - Bobby was kind enough to translate and explain their French menu for our group as well as several other customers seated around us - Bobby made amazing suggestions based on our food preferences - If the red tuna is on the menu, GET IT! It's basically poached in butter and the texture of the tuna was so soft and literally melted in your mouth. By far the best dish I have had in a long time. - The other dishes (onion tarte mouse, sea bream ceviche, grilled squid, duck breast with a side of duck confit) were also delicious since my family cleaned the plates rather quickly. - Stellar service even in the end when Bobby shook all of our hands and said good night as we exited Cons - Can't really think of one but... - If anything, the piglet entree wasn't as amazing as we were hoping it would be. The meat was a little tougher than we thought and compared to the other 3 entrees (red tuna, grilled squid, duck breast), the flavors weren't as memorable. I can't wait to visit this place again and will be dreaming of that red tuna dish. Thanks to all the wonderful staff and Bobby (I hope I got his name right).

Yelp
I read about this place on a blog.... our meal was out of this world. Must get reservations as it becomes a full house very quick! The marinated tomato salad was so fresh tasting, and the skins had been removed so they were tender and juicy. My husband's foie gras was also great and in an awesome balsamic sauce. His entree was the highlight of our meal, the sweet bread!!! It was so unique and tasted of rich fennel but savory like sausage. Hard to describe but out of this world. My pasta was very fresh as well and I had no complaint. We each had a slice of cake which had a texture of custard. The menu changes daily but I'm certain it won't disappoint! The menu isn't translated in English but the staff will interpret it all for you.
google avatar

Tina L.

Yelp
Excellent meal prepared exceptionally. We had the house made ricotta and the braised leeks which were absolutely delicious. We ordered the salt crusted sea bass which was perfectly fresh and delicate with a parsnip gratin. I'd go here again in a minute.

Elena G C.

Yelp
Absolutely superb food, all around. All aperitifs and plats, including the shareable leg of lamb with sweet potatoes were memorable. A true gem. Best food I've had in Paris.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing experience. Sat at the chef's table bar and watched the chef prepare our meal. Every thing was delicious and inventive. Blown away. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I want to love them. I recommend them. Then I went for myself not just off of others recommendation. We had 3 dishes, shared an appetizer main course and dessert. The appetizer was good not great. Same for dessert. We shared the lamb shank which was amazing. Is 1 out 3 worth coming back for? Not so sure. This is a town full of good food so I'm not sure this is going to rer a second chance. But their sister place next door is well worth the value.
google avatar

Yelp
I wish I could give this place 4.5 stars-- only flaw is the noise level, which one can partially escape by requesting a table on the little balcony, out of the buzz. Alas. No kitchen view, which is a shame, because you are unlikely to ever see one as focused and disciplined as this one. The food was our best meal in Paris-- marinated tomatoes with Marcona almonds, bathed in jus and a light gelée ,exploded with flavor. The sweetbreads were among the best I have ever tasted, perfectly roasted, crisp exterior, creamy center, floating on a spinach scented cream. our génial waiter then poured a rich fond de veau sauce over the whole shebang elevating the dish to a contender for my last meal on earth. Warm service from Germain, sincère welcome from a lovely hostess who managed to keep front of house light despite the chaos . Don't hesitate. Go.

Yelp
We walked in near last call so we couldn't get the prix fixed menu as there wasn't enough time. Our server spoke English and was hurried as she was trying to explain the menu to us and wanted to get the order into the kitchen. We shared the vegetable tempura which light and not greasy at all. Also shared the foie gras which was excellent. For the mains the sweetbreads were prepare and cooked perfectly - probably the best sweet breads I've had in a long time. The other main was duck breast with very in season asparagus. Another good fish. 2 starter and 2 mains with no drinks came to just under 100 euros. Ambience is modern, hip and young with an open kitchen that is immaculately clean.

Yelp
We came here with the kids for the 24 Euro set lunch. Unfortunately there was no a la carte option so the kids shared a set lunch, too. (Not cheap dates these seven year olds.) We each received three appetizers. The tomato salad was good but slightly bitter. Honestly I could make the same at home. My husband liked the chilled cantaloupe soup with oil but it was my least favorite, and I wished it was served cooler. The universal favorite was the savory cake with a tiny square of feta in the middle. We were able to try three of the mains. The best was the shell pasta stuffed with ricotta and hazelnuts, and served with zucchini ("courgettes" to the Brits) and pesto. The addition of hazelnuts was unique and definitely worked. Our least favorite was the cuttlefish, but to be fair we'd never had cuttlefish before. It was just way too chewy for us. We were excited that we were able to pass it on to our son who, lucky for us, eats anything. He particularly liked the tentacles. The cuttlefish was served with potatoes and "fruits rouge" and blueberries. Our other plat was the steak and was an extra 11 Euros. It was very tender but frankly not worth the money. For a place that's supposed to serve some of the best food in Paris, the restaurant was surprisingly nondescript on the inside.
google avatar

Richard H.

Yelp
Amazing place. Modern hip vibe, great service (thanks Theo) and the best steak we or our kids ever had stateside or in Europe. The foies gras with egg plant starter was smooth as silk. The steak Bordelaise was amazing. We had 3 for the 6 of us and came nowhere near finishing it. Highly recommended.

Yelp
We walked in with no reservations and landed the one seat available, which is a view of the kitchen which I thought was super cool. We started with a broccoli purée ceviche with cilantro. Very fresh and lots of citrus notes. Main course we both went for fish- squid with peppers and a creamy sauce and I had white fish with spinach and gnocchi..lots of clarified butter! Very rich and delicious. Service was excellent- the wait staff explained the dishes and steered us to the best ones. Great dining experience. We

Yelp
My husband and I really enjoyed our experience here. We made a reservation for lunch on a Monday or Tuesday, and our names were written on one of the tables when we arrived. The outside is easily missed as the sign is super small and blends in, so keep an eye out. The menu was in French only, but the very nice waiter was more than happy to translate everything for us. We both chose the same appetizer which included 3 different items, and was fairly good although nothing to write home about. For the main course, I had the salmon which was very, very fresh, and my husband had lamb. Afterward we ordered cafe cremes which the waiter delivered without hesitation despite the fact that this is decidedly a breakfast item in Paris (we're American...what can I say). The very welcoming staff really brought this up to a 5 star review for me. The hubby commented that it was one of his favorite meals in Paris. We would definitely go again.
google avatar

Erin O.

Yelp
Delightful meal, especially enjoyed the starter (poached egg with celeriac cream in a truffles octopus emulsion). Fish main course very solid choice. Friends enjoyed the lamb and ris de veau. Ooh and the dessert - mandarins with a green tea cream and jasmine reduction and wafer thin meringues. Excellent service.
google avatar

Tina S.

Yelp
Best lamb I have ever had any where! It is slow cooked for over 7 hours and is absolutely unreal. The flavors are insane. The cauliflower and onion Royale were excellent starters. Our server correctly steered us from more food as the lamb for 2 is enormous and so delicious. They also have a nice selection of wines and many well priced. A wonderful dinner from service to food and wine list. Will come back and share with friends.

Yelp
I got the prix fixe meal, which was a decent value. The place had a somewhat rustic, homely ambiance. The people working there are extremely friendly. Although it's laid back, it is very nice restaurant. Other friends who recommend Semilla have said it is their favorite restaurant in the world. In terms of getting here, it is a little hard to find. I understand you really ought to make a reservation, but I just showed up and was able to get a chair at the bar. I assume they change the menu up. The pork dish had an interesting combo of citrus, Caramelized onion, and moist pork. The other dishes were great too. I highly recommend checking out.
google avatar

Yelp
Started with the ceviche of dorad. Excellent presentation and very fresh flavors. Most ceviches have excess lime this one came out with mild citrus, good hit of cilantro and a gelatin of something i was unable to translate with paprika and fresh green peppercorns and small chunks of grapefruit. Next up the veal tartar. Served very cold and the veal is served diced and mixed in a pure of watercress and avocado topped with grany smith apples. Very presently surprised the dish was not what I expected and pleased with the result. For a Paris restaurant Semilla has more the look and feel of a haut NYC restaurant. The kitchen is open and service very efficient. The guests are swanky locals. They dress for dinner and while the staff speaks English all I overheard was French gossip. The 3rd dish was not what I expected. Can't say it was good or bad. The menu has a section for how dishes are prepared and this vase "al vapor" or steamed. I ordered a crab leg type of custard with some green Persian foam on top. Tasted bland. Not memorable. Last up, rack of lamb roasted on top of sautéed vegetables on a bed of arugula pesto and whole pistachios. I ordered the Demi portion but two huge chops came out perfectly roasted, hot on the outside and rare near the bone. Very good dish with distinct tastes. Very much plan to add this place to my rotation. Cheers

Yelp
Unpretentious, high quality food at fair prices. Good service and a nice place to be. The (open) kitchen works like clockwork. Noise level was a bit elevated. Reservations are recommended, especially for the weekends.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. Fine dining food in a very casual, comfortable environment. The food though was out of this world. Our hostess was very lovely too.

Yelp
Absolutely AMAZING!!! My friends and I were so impressed we asked for a second plate of the Panna Cotta. Everything was impeccable, they are very scheduled, but will accommodate later in the evening, although space is very limited. Try to reserve seatings. They change their menu often and I can't wait to come back on my next visit to Paris! Bonjour!

Yelp
This place was outstanding. One of the best ever. I would highly recommend. Don't hesitate.

Yelp
This is truly a one of a kind restaurant, but please make a reservation they get booked, because dining here is a truly outstanding experience We had to wait a very short time for our reservation, but the owner was so great he brought us all a glass of champagne to enjoy while we waited The waitress was so warm and welcoming A great dinner

Yelp
Hands down the best restaurant that my wife and I went to over the course of 7 full days in Paris. We did the special which is 65 euros and the chef gets to choose what to bring to you. Both of us got 2 appetizers each, 2 main courses, and 2 deserts. The appetizers were ceviche and pickled cherry tomatoes with French cheese from the Western part of the country (as told to us by the waiter). The main courses were fish and lamb. Both were amazing. We licked our plates clean, that's how amazing it was. For desert, we had sorbet and some type of chocolate cracker with vanilla ice cream. Best meal I had in Paris, maybe my life!

Yelp
Arrived just before the kitchen closed and they were very friendly to accommodate. Had delicious tuna dish and great wine. Highly recommend

Yelp
We had a 19:00 reservation and walked into the restaurant at 18:57. The staff was still setting up. There was a woman behind the bar (who appeared to be the hostess). Here is our conversation verbatim translated from French: ME: Hi. We have a reservation for seven o'clock... HER: Well it's not seven o'clock yet, so you'll have to wait outside. We then stood around outside for fifteen minutes without being acknowledged or invited in, and left. If your restaurant opens at 19:00 and you have taken reservations for 19:00, you should be open at least 15 minutes early and be ready to go. People who show up late for their reservation are the bane of restaurants. So this behavior baffles me.

Yelp
Semilla is a relatively trend French restaurant with a clean and open kitchen-style ambiance. Service was pleasant and had good English conversational skills. The vegetable tempura was not greasy and cooked perfectly. In addition, the foie gras appy was solid. My sweet bread entrée had good flavour and seasoning. Worth a visit. Enjoy Paris!
