-a charming corner kopitiam that’s been around since the 1940s, and honestly, it felt like stepping back in time in the best way. It’s one of those unassuming places that locals flock to, and after a few bites, I completely understood why.
Their kaya toast was everything I hoped for. Warm, lightly crispy bread with a generous spread of rich, eggy coconut jam and a slab of butter melting just enough to make each bite indulgent. Washed it down with a bold cup of local kopi, thick and robust with just the right amount of bitterness. It’s not your specialty pour-over café vibe, but there's something grounding about sipping strong kopi in a no-frills kopitiam surrounded by locals reading the paper and chatting over breakfast. This trip, I made it a point to try kaya toast at every place I could get one.
