The 17 Best Restaurants in George Town, Malaysia | Eater

"Oh chien is often translated as “oyster omelet” but this is an insufficient description for this masterpiece of egg, tapioca flour batter, and barely-cooked oysters – a dish with Chinese roots that’s ubiquitous in George Town. The version served at this hawker centre is fried in lard, making it exceedingly rich, crispy, and almost bacon-like in flavor. Open afternoons only, closed Wednesdays. [$]" - Austin Bush

Seng Thor Coffee Shop

Google
Old school Chinese coffee shop with many popular stalls. Char koey teow here is not bad, both the husband and wife bosses are very nice people, oyster omelette is really average, hardly have the aroma of garlic or any charred taste, oysters also very little. Th lor mee seems to be pretty good here. Coffee is pretty average also. An underwhelming dining experience.

Nice oyster omelets and nice place to get some breakfast. The omelets is good and have good portion. The bread also good especially the cheese one. Its goey and crispy at outside. But we got seating at outside and its disturbing the walkers when they want to walk across us.

One of the underrated kopi tiam. Their coffee is pretty good; bread with eggs are nice with unique butter; wanton mee is also quite good. They have a popular stall selling lor mee, will return to try.

Google
Old school coffeeshop/kopitiam that serves various local delicacies (mostly noodles) such as lor mee, char kway tiao, wanton mee, kueh tiao soup, coffee/tea and toast breads. Even though there is limited seats, the shop owner is kind enough to assist in finding a seat for you. Has two bowls of lor mee at 12 RM, a hor ka sai and Kaya butter toast bread at 8.80rm.

The Penang white coffee is very fragrant... Loves the oyster egg .. when ordering, must add one more egg to add in favour

Overall a pleasant experience with the kopitiam environment and food. Drink is average for me, egg on toast on the other hand is great.

The coffee is delicious, especially after walking around in the hot weather. Unfortunately, the bread isn't very good. The prices are cheap, and it seems like this place has become a gathering spot for the local community.

Stumbled upon this place as we are nearby some kopitiam and queue too long. But guess what! I think this is a pretty good "accident" that happened. The Lor Mee is so so so good; and Wonton Mee quoted by my dad was delicious too! Wonton Mee is very very very cheap too. Please come and try! 😋
