Señor Pancho's Mexican Restaurant

Not only is this the best Mexican restaurant in Connecticut by far, today we also had a burger there. I got my favorite Mexican food, some salsa to go (out of this world delicious by the way) and my mom got the burger which I tasted. I have to say the burger was one of the very best I have ever had anywhere. Great food, great people and great service.

We had an enjoyable lunch - Enchiladas Banderas(three different types of enchiladas) served with refried beans and rice and the Tootsie Roll(shaved steak in a spinach tortilla) served with plentiful portion of beans and rice. The restaurant is spacious and clean with friendly and attentive wait staff. They also appeared to have a bar with many creative beverages. We’d highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the Southbury area!

Food, menu choices, and service is excellent. We like this restaurant very much. We go there often from neighboring Newtown. Last time we were there though we had to eat and leave as quickly as possible. The band was SO LOUD that we could not say a single word to one another. I wished they had started playing before we ordered because we would have realized and just gotten up and left. I asked them to turn it down so people could speak. Nope! Couldn’t even hear the server asking us a question without yelling huh? What did you say? But we had ordered already so we just ate as quickly as possible, got the check and bolted. I will always call ahead now and make sure there is no live music.

Food was excellent and prompt. Steak tacos were juicy and delicious! I could even tell that the steak was cooked medium rare after being sliced for the tacos. The staff was personable, attentive, and fast, working together collaborativly. There is no way to run out of chips and salsa with this crew. Definitely will be back, even though I'm not from the area

Even though we live further away, we recently had the pleasure of dining at the Senor Panchos in Southbury. We had a fantastic experience that made the trip worthwhile! The manager, Andy, was incredibly welcoming and ensured everything was perfect by visiting our table to check on our meal throughout the evening. It’s evident that he genuinely cares about his guests! The food itself was outstanding! We had the shrimp and spinach quesadillas, the fiesta sampler, and the El Grande combo. Everything came out very flavorful and well made (especially the wings in the appetizer), and the portions were also big enough to have some leftovers to bring home, which is a plus. You also can't beat their homemade salsa and guacamole, which are out of this world delicious! It's wonderful to have an authentic Mexican restaurant in the area like Senor Panchos! We highly recommend this location for a tasty meal and excellent service. We can’t wait to visit again!

Oh my goodness! So tonight my husband and I decided to try this spot for dinner tonight and we were not disappointed. We were seated promptly and greeted by a kind gentleman at the front counter who was very social and friendly and that was wonderful. Then we were seated and our server was polite and quick and took great care of us. Our drinks were always topped off and our salsa was always full. Then our food came out super quick and looked amazing. I've never had birria tacos and these were super tasty and the consume was so flavorful. The nachos we had they were so yummy and the portion was huge. Everyone was so polite and the the service was fantastic. My husband and I will gladly come back and contine to try our way across the menu. Thank you for a fantastic dining experience.

It has been a while since we were last at a Senor Panchos since we don’t live near one, but we were very pleased that we came to this one in Southbury! The owner/manager, Andy, greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome. He then recommended some of his specialties, such as the veggie quesadillas, shrimp and spinach quesadillas, the fiesta sampler, and the veggie enchilada sampler. We decided to try them all, and we were not disappointed. All the food was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The portions were generous to the point that we had plenty of leftovers to bring home, and the prices were reasonable. We particularly enjoyed the chips and salsa, which were homemade and delicious, especially since the chips had a good seasoning on them that other places don’t have! The service Andy gave us was also very attentive and friendly since he ensured that we got all of our food in a timely manner. We highly recommend Senor Panchos to anyone looking for authentic Mexican cuisine in a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Suppose you can’t make it in person. In that case, they also offer delivery on Doordash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub for your convenience, along with the traditional pickup option.

Another phenomenal meal at senior Poncho's. I chose the classic- the chicken and steak fajitas with the chicken blackened, my boyfriend got the enchilada trio. We chose to spend the bar this time and had a great evening. There's a couple of comfortable booths in there which was great. Bar seats looked comfortable, padded.

Excellent lunch today of chef's chicken tamales and steak fajitas. Clean restaurant with great service. Go with confidence. They also have lovely outdoor dining

The food is very good and the service is also. The staff are friendly and professional. I have two favorites, one being the rice bowl with shrimp. Their new addition is the Tijuana Swamp Soup. It's not just a bowl of soup but a meal. It has clams, shrimp, fish chunks, tiny potatoes and chorizo. The broth tops off the flavor.

We normally love eating at Senor Panchos when we are in town at our son's house so we made a reservation for tonight on the patio. Speedy service and friendly waiter but the two ground beef taco salads were very disappointing. They contained barely any meat. The fries our kids ordered were also very small orders.

Great food. Many choices and we often hit Mexican restaurants when in NYC and Senor Panchos can stand with them. My Wife lived in Southern California and is familiar with authentic Mexican food. Very attentive service and a lively atmosphere.

Got Senor Pachos takeout for our work lunch and wow was it delicious! The individual over the phone taking our order was very kind and was patient with our large order for the office. I started with the empanadas which were crunchy on the outside and so flavorful on the inside with the meat being cooked to perfection. My main course was the rice bowl which contained spicy rice, which did have a kick but nothing that overwhelmed my taste buds from the other incredible flavors inside of the bowl. It included black beans, greens, pico de gallo, and sour cream, and I added grilled chicken for my protein. The ingredients tasted so fresh - I mean look at that avocado glowing! The portions were pretty generous too - I had leftovers for lunch the next day. I really enjoyed it and definenly went to stop in to eat inside of their restaurant soon!

Tried out Senior Pancho's for the first time and enjoyed our experience overall. Pros: Good Service - we were seated quickly on a busy night and food came out hot and in a reasonable amount of time Good Food - chicken chimichanga was my favorite. Friendly Staff - everyone was nice and friendly, even when we made a mess on our table with the salsa (oopsie) Excellent Margarita - had the dragonfruit margarita on special, best I've ever had Good Prices - I was pleasantly surprised with our total bill Cons: Very noisy atmosphere - if you're looking for quiet or reasonable noise level, don't go during a busy time Guacamole not made fresh to order - while the guac was good, it wasn't amazing. I like when they make it right in front of you and you have the option of spice level. This was not the case here. But overall, a good place to eat. Very family friendly and great value for your money.

This is a horrible restaurant slow service rushing to get orders that leave for 30min the waiter left after asking about the food we got two plates of three tacos on taco Tuesday the tortillas were hard and a pinch of cabbage and frozen fish patty on top it was horrible I ask another person for the check and left thankfully it was a one time stop will never come back I felt guilty not telling the people waiting to save there money I left no tip and I didn't feel guilty because it was horrible service cold and slow Taco Bell is better!!!!

consistently the BEST mexican I've had in CT. My husband and I have gone there since they opened years ago. Andy, the owner is so wonderful! Highly recommend everything - our favorites are the burritos. Guacamole and salsa are fresh and tasty! Best frozen strawberry margaritas too!

My wife and I went to Senor Panchos on a Friday night for happy hour (3-6 PM, M-F). I am always looking for a great happy hour and Senor Panchos has it. One of the best in the area IMO. I have to say, it took some investigating to find it too. The happy hour takes place in the bar area. There is, of course, the bar, but there are also tables too. Never fear, if the bar is full, you can sit at one of the tables, enjoy happy hour prices AND get table service! Bonus! There are $3 Tecate beers, $6 and $7 drink specials, $6 wine and $5 seltzers (see pic) and enjoy chips and the best restaurant salsa around for FREE. I ordered the cup of chili and a chicken burrito and my wife ordered the pork tacos (see pics). Everything was delicious and the service was great. All in, tip included, bill was under $50 total, wow.

Stopped by later this afternoon, my wife and I sat at the bar for an early bite to eat and a drink. My wife chose traditional enchiladas and I just felt like a burger. Drinks were great, food was excellent along with the service. Andy the Owner came to check on us and actually made our drinks and took our order. Needless to say we had another fantastic meal at Ponchos. My Angus burger was Fantastic and so were the enchiladas. If you haven't been, stop by and give it a try.

Great place to meet up with friend locally or go out with the family. One of our regular spots, the Burritos and fajitas are always terrific!

Great food but if you order on Grubhub be prepared for your food to come late and missing a few items. Usually they forget the sodas, once they brought the soda without the food. Tonight, they missed our sides of rice and beans. When they sent the soda without the food the manager just said, "oh the Grubhub driver didn't take the bag with your food". There was no sense of doing the right thing thing for their customer. Just a lack of empathy. I have since learned that direct complaints to the management is not worth it. This is the 3rd time in a row they messed up. And as they say 3 strikes and you're out. I won't be ordering anything with Grubhub and Senor Panchos ever again. My advice is if you want to get your food then visit the restaurant firsthand. If you get home delivery than if you are lucky you might get it ...eventually. Or not...

Delicious meals for lunch!! We had chicken pastor tacos, steak fajitas and a chimichanga combo plate. Every meal was fantastic. Great service, friendly staff. Would definitely recommend!

I ordered one of their Margaritas which was quite good, but I do not believe it had much liquor in it. I was told their Berritos are very good. I did order one that supposed to have steak in it. Well, it did have some steak in it, but if you like grissly meat you may love it. Not much meat though. Since I could not chew it, I asked the waiter to replace it with the chicken version. That was not bad. Maybe I am spoiled with the Berritos I got when I lived in San Jose Ca, or Las vegas. The service was very nice, the ambiance sitting outside is lovely. I feel a an 18.95$ order should HAVE SOME SUNSTANCE TO IT.

This was so yummy and the perfect place for a cinco de Mayo lunch. Our server Christina made it even more special, she was alert, attentive and couldn't have been nicer. Every night was delicious and I love that the guacamole and salsa were obv. made fresh daily. We sat outdoors and it was beautiful!!

I had gotten delivery recently and was surprised at how much you had gotten with a Beef Taco kids meal and Queso dip & nachos. Everything was very fresh! A full dish of fries, fresh chopped tomatoes, lettuce, & cheese along with two tortillas and a beef & sauce mixture! I huge bag of tortilla chips & a separate container of salsa! It was very good.

The service is always wonderful at Senor Panchos. Staff is attentive and always checking in to see how you are doing. The portions are plentiful and the food is tasty. There are many different options on the menu and there are always weekly specials.

Literally should have just went to Taco Bell , would have tasted better for a fraction of the price. Their "Tex mex" burrito is literally wet mushy refried beans with a sprinkle of diced pepper (no onions or tomatoes were distinguishable in the slop). Oh and small tid bits of steak barely able to be seen or tasted in the mess of disgustingness. Also the churros that I ordered for dessert had green on them? Must have been handled in food prep area with avocado?? Not sure but just overall annoyed with this shit takeout meal.

My first time trying Senior Panchos in Southbury, CT for a late lunch. I always start out with the not so good & end with all the good stuff. I waited a bit long to be seated considering there was only three or four other customers at that time. Once I was acknowledged and seated it was All Good! After getting my drink order the yummy homemade tortilla chips and salsa came out. For an appetizer I ordered queso fundido with chorizo. For those of you not familiar queso fundido is melty cheesy goodness. Not for those counting calories. The chorizo gives it that extra kick. For lunch I had steak quesadillas which were four good sizes pieces the steak inside so tender. The quesadilla was a nice golden brown. I opted out for the guacamole and lettuce on top but those are options. If you dont eat alot of the chips or get an app then most likely you'll need to order a side to go with the steak quesadillas Im hungry just writing this review!

Best spot in town. Actually best spot around! Panchos is a classic place. Awesome service every time. Can't beat their margs either. I usually go with the frozen. Food wise I love the blackened chicken rice bowl and the chimichangas, but plenty other options to choose from. Andy and his staff are so dedicated and consistent. Definitely give this place a try! Special shout out to Pedro and Daris!

Let me say, the food tasted great BUT, two major ingredients were missing from their AZTECA BOWL ....sweet potatoes as and hot honey, with no explanation. ALSO, I experienced four bowel movements, and extreme stomach pains, immediately after eating. I had taken three others with me for a birthday dinner I won't be heading back ever again.

Good choice for Mexican food in the area. Complimentary chips and salsa are very good. Usually get the steak and chicken fajitas which are generous enough to share. Good bar and outside patio. Service has always been excellent.

I visited Senor Panchos in Southbury with a group of friends to catch up. The service was decent except for when an employee spilled a drink on my friend and all down her lap. I was surprised by how unapologetic they were. It wasn't like my friend was upset with them, but geez at least act like you care that you just soaked someone's clothes and now they have to sit and eat while wet. Other than that, the service was ok and food was good. The salsa is my favorite in the area. The rice bowls and burritos were popular among my group. It was quiet for a while while we were there and once we were getting ready to leave the restaurant filled up with other customers. Atmosphere is cute, location is convenient. I would most likely still come here as food and not too many good Mexican restaurants in the area.

We have been going to Senor Panchos in Southbury for many years. Both food and service are consistently superb. They make you feel like family every time. Servers are always courteous, helpful, and friendly. Thank you Andy and family for creating such a warm and inviting atmosphere. We have never been disappointed, and will continue to be customers as long as we are in CT.

Food was incredible! Endless salsa is a dream. Service was so friendly and attentive. Big papa pancho came over and gave us free salsa to go. Authentic atmosphere . overall great time we will be back.

We had dinner there last night. My first visit. The setting was nice on the patio with umbrellas to filter the sun. Service was good; margaritas very good and food was great! We will definitely go back again.

I'm so thankful for Panchos' incredible customer service! I accidentally ordered online from the Middlebury Panchos instead of Southbury. When I got to Southbury and realized what happened, they called Middlebury for me, and then re-did and rushed my to go order, even though it was my mistake. They had nice music playing while we waited briefly. My meal was excellent and so plentiful that I have leftovers for tomorrow. And you can't beat the to go margaritas!

Loved my server Christina! I went on Cinco de Mayo so the wait was long but that's to be expected on a holiday! The food came quick after we ordered and the margaritas was delish (and strong)!

Always a great meal Andy the owner is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. I love their sloppy nachos and drinks. They even have vegan options here.

Came here for a quick bite before Captain Marvel. Took us like 5-7 minutes before we were greeted at the hostess stand. It was not busy at all maybe 6-8 tables. Service was okay, server didn't really talk about specials or ask about appetizers. Showed up to the table, said "What you want to drink" and left. Came back "What you want for food". We ordered, he left. Came back with food. Then the bill. Which I guess is a blessing in disguise since we were pressed for time but... seemed that way for all the tables. Food was good. I ordered enchiladas and my wife ordered a taco salad. Good flavors for both. I don't consider this a "go to" for Mexican food, but it isn't bad by far. Big menu as well so there's something for everyone.

We got takeout. The tacos were soggy and unappealing. Beef burrito was tasty, but again I think if we had eaten it right after it was cooked, it would have been better.

I went to a baby shower here and it was wonderful! The staff were incredibly nice and attentive; the food was great and the set-up was perfect! We all were able to socialize and sit in one room and food was in the adjacent smaller room. It was well-organized and I had a great time

Food was ok however the place just isn't clean. The table was still dirty when we sat down and we got a booster seat for our son and it was disgusting and sticky.

Senor panchos was fabulous tonight for dinner! Service was excellent as always and the food was soooo good. Cleaned my plate. Had the chicken tamales which is a chefs special and they are the best. Had the Sandia margarita which was very tasty. My husband had the El Jefe combination plate and he loved his as well. This place has been here for quite some time and has always been great. Very rustic inside and I feel like I'm in a small cantina in Mexico. All in all it was great!

My friend and I go here in the summer because of the patio. Also, I'm pretty pleased anytime I can order healthier food at a Mexican restaurant. I frequent the one in Prospect often, but I like the menu in Southbury better. I usually get the Ensalada de Panchos because it never disappoints. It has mixed greens, mango, jicama, tomato, tortilla, and a light vinaigrette on the side. You can get protein too but let's be real, you eat so many chips and salsa before the meal comes that you can fit meat in your salad haha. I gave 3 stars because the table side guac was "meh"...and they don't use a pestle, just a fork and mortar. We had an awkward experience with someone making guac that seemed new. Pros are that the bathroom is clean and food is fresh.

Decent tacos. I tried the chicken taco, the baja taco, and the fish (tilapia) taco. Hands down the best one out of the three is the chicken taco. It's not the best place to eat if you're lactose intolerant. You'll have to remove a lot of the additional flavoring for the tacos so it'll taste bland. But you can definitely enjoy a nice meal here at senor Pancho's. Nice family friendly enjoyable place that stays open a little longer than most places in the area.
