Where To Eat And Drink With Your Coworkers Because Team Bonding Has Taken Over Your Life

"As great as the newly-renovated conference rooms named after endangered housecat species may seem to you, no one wants to spend that much time under fluorescent lights. Instead, reserve a patio table at Sens in the Embarcadero Center. It’s a little tough to find, but once you make it to the third floor, you can look at the incredible view of the Ferry Building while you drink a few cocktails." - will kamensky

Sens Restaurant - Review - Embarcadero - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"We don’t usually hang out at the Embarcadero Center, because we don’t live in an ’80s movie set entirely in a mall. We make an exception to that for Sens, though, because the Mediterranean food really is excellent and the views are strong. The pork tenderloin, octopus, and gnocchi are our go-tos. Heads up, it’s on the third floor and not the easiest place to find." - Taylor Abrams

This restaurant truly impresses with its gorgeous views of the bay bridge and a beautiful, stone-inspired interior that effortlessly creates a Spanish ambiance. There are multiple rooms and plenty of space, including an event space, making it versatile for any occasion. Mediterranean Spreads (4/5): All three sauces/dips were incredibly rich and creamy, a delightful start. However, the price felt a bit steep at $21 given the portion size. Arancini (4/5): These corn and mozzarella-stuffed bites were nicely crisp on the outside with a decent, though not particularly special, flavor on the inside. With only three to a plate, they didn't quite justify the cost. Tomato and Lemon Cucumber Salad (3/5): This salad was tasty but nothing remarkable. I'd suggest skipping it for something more unique. Lamb Skewers (3/5): Unfortunately, the lamb was overcooked and chewy, which was quite disappointing. Chicken Slider (4/5): A standard fried chicken with coleslaw, it tasted good but was pretty much what you'd expect to find at any basic shop. Not worth ordering here for a special experience. Paella (4.5/5): Highly recommend this one! The shrimp and chicken were really tasty, and the presentation was great. While it looks big, it's a very shallow dish, so it's enough for perhaps two people to share. For a group, you'd definitely need to order multiple. The items on the menu are a bit costly, and they have a small, curated selection. It would be nice to have a few more options. A big plus was our waitress, who was kind enough to let us order a few items from the happy hour menu even though we weren't seated by the bar.

Google
Paella and a salad is perfect amount for two. Get the arugula salad! Staff and food were amazing. Tons of seating. Loved sitting by the window and watching people outside play Padel. There’s also an outdoor seating area with many fireplaces.

Google
This restaurant was an absolute find. Conveniently located next to the Hyatt hotel and the Ferry building, it’s a great stop for a delightful dinner. The menu has some delicious finds and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. This is a very romantic place for date night or a nice place to have dinner with some friends

Google
Popular after work destination for coworkers to have team dinners. That’s the vibe but also loud. There are nice views of the ferry building though. Overall the food was very average. The appies were better than the mains. Steak was under seasoned, fish a little dry. Verdict: will not return unless forced to by work.

Lovely spot. Sat outdoors on the patio facing the Embarcadero and loved the view. Great spot to catch up with a friend(s), go on a date, meet up with colleagues, etc. Good atmosphere both indoors and outdoors. Had the paella and chicken bucket and both were very good. As a native Marylander, their crab dip was underwhelming and small in size. Highly recommend this spot.

I made a reservation for a group of seven and had an excellent time! A spilled lemonade was promptly replaced, and every dish tasted excellent. The burgers were perfectly prepared with a good serving of french fries, the pizzas were perfect, and the salads had excellent flavor. The patio was lovely and the music was just the right volume. My only caution is that the non-alcoholic drinks are loaded with ice, making their $6 prices a harder swallow.

My family and I had a late dinner during our visit to SFO, and the ambience of the restaurant was incredibly welcoming. It had a rustic Spanish style with a view overlooking the Bay Bridge along Embarcadero Street. The food was amazing, from the delicious starters and salads to the mouthwatering main entree. However, it was a bit disappointing that they didn't offer a side starch option for the red snapper. Despite that, I would've given them five stars for the overall experience. I particularly enjoyed the roasted cauliflower; it was delicious! The friendly servers also added points to the excellent customer service

Google
Went on Fried Chicken Fridays and the fried chicken was excellent. The hot sauce was spicy but also flavorful, the rosemary honey was a great compliment to their great tasting (but slightly on the hard side) biscuits, and their shoestring fries were wonderfully seasoned and crispy. Beautiful ambiance with views of the Bay Bridge from the table and a sleek bar design.

Yelp
This place I will forever hold close to my heart. A couple of years ago, my now husband reunited here after so many years. We recently went back, and I think we ordered the same thing. The jalapeño corn bread and the friend chicken. We initially just wanted to stop by for drinks but after talking for so long, we decided to order and early dinner. The ambiance is always amazing since you have an amazing view of Embarcadero and also playing great music w a DJ!

Yelp
Sens was perfectly fine. We went as a group of six for happy hour just to get a couple of drinks. Sitting outside was nice as you could get the mix of the cold air as well as the nice warm glow from the heaters. The service was a bit slow but I suppose for happy hour it made sense. There was a big reunion happening at the same time so a lot of attention was being paid there as well. The drinks aren't nothing to rave about and they are quite privy. Even the non alcoholic mixed drinks for some reason are always very expensive which just doesn't sit very well with me. Overall, a nice place to sit and look out onto the Embarcadero but nothing worth going out of the way for.

Yelp
Sens is yummy! We stopped by for a team happy hour and it was a beautiful ambiance. Keep in mind the happy hour menu portions are very tiny and I would double servings if you're coming here with a large group. The lamb skewers and burger were really good! Everything else was good as well but didnt stand out to me. Service is great and accommodating, they were packed when we went but I felt like they gave us adequate attention especially as a large group. I

Yelp
This space is really beautiful but every time I come in, it's always without reservations and all their tables are usually booked so I would recommend making a reservation. They have a lot of work events at this spot. It's a little tricky to find this place, but you have to go up to the second or third floor and it's right next to the hotel. The food is pretty good, but I've only ordered things on the happy hour menu so I need to try more.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about Sen's the staff is extremely friendly. The ambiance is light and airy with amazing views of the ferry building. I've been multiple times for lunch, happy hour and the amazing fries chicken Fridays! Wish they were opened on the weekends!

Yelp
Had the pleasure of dining here on a Tuesday night around 7 pm for a team dinner! Great location at the Embarcadero center with a great view of the city. Tight interior though when you have a large party, but we were sat immediately and service was smooth and attentive. We ordered family style for appetizers and ordered individual entrees. Appetizers: - Pita Bread: soft, fluffy, and crunchy - Crab Dip: creamy dip with soft crab cakes - Rib Skewers: delicious cuts of meat, great char My main: Steak with Fries - Fries were the best side of the table with it being crunch, salty, and delicious - The steak was satisfactory, but it was really under flavored because of a lack of seasoning. Needed more salt Great dinner experience with the team

Yelp
Came here with some coworkers for happy hour on a Friday around 5pm. Lots of people were inside and it was already super loud, but outside seating was empty and quiet. A lot more people began coming as time passed. Fries - 4/5, yum! Well fried and very crispy. Came with mayo (?) and ketchup, but honestly really good without sauce. Chicken - 4/5, also crispy and well fried. Came with honey and what I'm guessing is buffalo sauce. Drinks - delicious and quite strong.

Yelp
I love the outdoor terrace here!! It is the perfect spot for an after work drink. Beautiful views overlooking the bay and the ferry building, with great food and great drinks - what more can you ask for. They have plenty of heat lamps so don't let the outdoor seating in SF weather intimidate you. They also have some happy hour deals that go until 6pm. The staff here are incredibly warm and friendly, a special shout out to Willie who made our visit extra memorable. I really enjoyed the trio of spreads (tzatziki, hummus, muhammara) with pita.

Yelp
Never heard of this spot but a coworker suggested it for lunch. Definitely surprised by the location and the restaurant itself. Great views of the Ferry Building and the entire restaurant is decorated nicely. The rigatoni was a great vegetarian dish with lots variety! Would definitely recommend, but it is a little hard to find the entrance.

Yelp
I came with my work teamates for happy hours on a Friday. They had a Fried chicken Friday special menu for happy hours till 6pm. The restaurant was surprisingly quiet, possibly because it was a Friday before Spring break. People might have already benn out town or prepared to travel out town. We ordered drinks and some small bites to share. - fried chicken: 6 big pieces in each order including thighs, wings and drumsticks. The meat was a bit dry, taste was fine but not my favorite. - Trio of Mediterranean spreads with pitas: used to be my favorite, but the bread was a bit overcooked and not soft/fluffy enough. The spreads were always good. - Crispy Maitake mushrooms: so far, it's one of my favorite. The mushrooms were big and crispy outside, soft and juicy inside. - Seafood Arancini : my coworkers did not like it. They said that they are too fishy. I was okay with them but yes, they were a bit too strong on the seafood taste. I could only taste the cuttlefish, could not taste the shrimp or calamari. -Fries : these were great in taste and definitely good for munching. We finished 4 orders! House music was a bit loud, hard for us to talk and listen to each other.

Yelp
Have been there a couple of times with colleagues for lunch. Amazing location and view. Can see embarcadero and ferry building. Food is great too. A lot of Italian options, including some vegetarian ones. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Sens is a beautiful restaurant, perfect for large parties, business lunches and dinners, and celebratory events. I really appreciated the atmosphere, with its intricate indoor design details and excellent customer service. I went for lunch with some co-workers, and it was a great dining experience because they can accommodate large groups without it feeling too crowded. Their menu is quite affordable for a casual near-luxury experience. For starters, I tried the Mediterranean Spreads and the Crispy Falafel. The Mediterranean Spreads were delicious, especially the tzatziki and oven-roasted pita combination. The Crispy Falafel was also good, though the portion size was quite small. For my main dish, I ordered the Steak Au Poivre (ribeye). I requested medium, but it was cooked well-done, which was unfortunate. The steak seemed to be of high quality, but the overcooking made it less enjoyable. However, the flavorful gravy sauce helped make it more bearable. The fries were crisp and tasty. My co-workers really enjoyed their dishes. Maybe it was just the ribeye that didn't turn out well. Everything else about this restaurant--from the quality dining experience and great customer service to the tasty dishes (other than the ribeye, of course)--is definitely worth it.

Yelp
Delicious food, lovely space, and kind service! I highly recommend the gnocchi and the hot hazelnut chocolate cake! My team and I came here for lunch, and we left full and satisfied. Everything on the menu looked fantastic, but the gnocchi from the lunch set menu piqued my interest the most. I wasn't banking on them allowing me to order it standalone, but to my surprise, they did!! And they let me add shrimp too, which I would recommend to make it a bit more substantial. It was absolutely delicious, and probably the best gnocchi I've ever had. The texture was fluffy with a touch of crispiness, the sauce was super flavorful and rich (I couldn't put my finger on it, maybe brown butter? either way, amazing), the corn added fun pops of sweetness, and they loaded up on the bacon lardons. For dessert, we ordered the meyer lemon tart and the hot hazelnut chocolate cake. The meyer lemon tart was great, on the lighter side, and actually quite large, so I'd recommend splitting it with someone else. The hot hazelnut cake stole the show. It was like an elevated Domino's chocolate lava crunch cake. While there was no crunch, it was super chocolatey and rich. It is on the smaller side though, so I would not recommend splitting it . Bonus: it's gluten-free, meaning our gluten-intolerant friends can partake im the flavors as well! All in all, we enjoyed our meal at Sens! I would definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area.

Yelp
TLDR: Sens is a casual-to-nice Mediterranean restaurant at the top of one of the Embarcadero buildings overlooking the water. I've been here many times and it's a great place to host events or large groups for dinner thanks to the spacious indoor and outdoor dining spaces. However foodwise, while some dishes are great, I think there were several dishes that could have used some improvement. ------ FOOD: 1. Paella (5/5) - Best thing Sens serves hands down. Whole thing is really flavorful, they don't skimp on the chorizo, shrimp, or chicken, and it wasn't dry at all. This takes a while to come out, so plan accordingly. 2. Chocolate Mousse (5/5) - Simple, excellent, beautiful dessert in a beautiful dessert glass. Good size and would be great to split with someone 3. Liberty Farms Duck Confit (4.5/5) - Smaller portion for an entree but was tender for duck and had a great flavor. Love the garnishes around the duck leg 4. Fries (4.5/5) - Actually surprisingly pretty good. Fries were really well seasoned with a slight kick that I loved. They hold their shape nicely (i.e. not limp / soggy) but they could have been slightly crispier. The curry ketchup was super unique 5. Rigatoni (4/5) - I thought the pasta was cooked well and was slightly al dente. The tomato vodka sauce and basil pieces were quite good, but the dish could have used a bit more cheese to elevate to the next level. A little one-dimensional after a few bites, but those first few bites are tasty! 6. Strawberry Galette (4/5) - Basically a warm strawberry pie topped with lemon gelato. This is a very comforting dessert. A galette crust is definitely breadier and much thicker than a pie crust 7. Heirloom Tomato Salad (4/5) - Tomatoes were flavorful and salad was a good size -- good to share 8. Charcuterie (3.5/5) - The two long pieces of crusty wheat-based baguette were nice and the meats were good, but I think it would have been nice to have had single-serve baguette pieces or crackers instead to make it more shareable 9. Roasted Half Chicken (2.5/5) - Not bad if you really cover it in sauce, but otherwise quite dry 10. Mediterranean Spreads (2.5/5) - They were fine but none were amazing and the pita didn't look the most appetizing 11. Halibut Crudo (1/5) - Unfortunately tasted low quality and oily 12. Pan-Roasted Ling Cod (0/5) - Very fishy and very overcooked. The veggie garnishes around it (squash, zucchini) were unfortunately also unappetizing. In general, just extremely expensive for what you get. ------ SERVICE: * I think service met expectations and they did a good job with efficiently clearing plates between courses + pouring water for us when they could + wiping the table before dessert * Overall service could have been slightly faster though. There were moments when we were just sitting there waiting for a server to come by our table, but this is a big restaurant with lots of large parties so I can understand ------ ENVIRONMENT: * The restaurant itself plays up the Mediterranean vibe, which works since it overlooks the Bay * Lots of seating indoors at the bar, small tables, and long tables for large parties (very accommodating in this respect) * Outdoor seating is nice during the day, but beware SF nights that get very cold very quickly * Walk up the spiral walkway in the center of 4 Embarcadero to the top floor to find Sens. There's also an elevator in the complex.

Yelp
Martha Nell and Alana always pick the perfect venue to dine and Sens met all my expectations. They joined me at Sens for a lite afternoon snack and beverages with authority and as always, there was robust conversation and bold laughter.  I arrived early so I had an Old Fashioned to adjust the mood. We started off with an appetizer, Mediterranean spreads, gigante beans, olives, tzatziki za'atar, olive oil romesco, almonds, and extra wood-oven roasted pita. In addition to the coolest vibe and views that were therapeutic, the entire staff were amazing. We had a great table at window with magnificent views. Alana and I ordered the Heirloom Tomato Panzanella salad and added wood-oven roasted salmon and Martha Nell ordered the Cucumber & Melon salad and added crispy falafel that she paired with a Grenache Rosé and I paired mine with a lovely Albariño. Our server Elias was extraordinary and when we asked him to take a photo of us, he suggested that we go out onto the patio to take a photo with the San Francisco Ferry building in the background.

Yelp
I went to Sens Restaurant for a work dinner. They were one of the few restaurants in the area that could accommodate a large party up to 25 people. My colleague made reservations for 6pm on a Wednesday. Finding the restaurant in 4 Embarcadero was a bit of a maze, but we managed to locate the restaurant on the 3rd floor. The restaurant had a gorgeous view of the bay with outdoor seating, but no complaints about sitting inside since the interior was beautifully decorated. The main dining area did feel a cramped, but it helped that they offer coat check. Overall service was great. I felt that the food came out in a timely manner, and the wait staff was friendly and attentive. I had a few appetizers including the French fries, fried mushrooms, trio of spreads. Enjoyed them all, especially the fried mushrooms... so much so I got a side of mushrooms to go along with my steak au poivre, which usually comes with the fries. My ribeye was cooked well, and I ate mostly all of it (sans fat). Unfortunately the proteins weren't prepared equally. One of my colleagues ordered the pork chop, and it was too raw and had to have his taken back. Do not sleep on the mocktails. I am exercising dry January right now, and I got a No-groni off their menu. It really gave negroni without the alcohol. It even had the bitterness that I love about negronis. A few of my other peers got mocktails, and they loved theirs as well.

Yelp
Our party decided to make a meal out of mostly small bites and really enjoyed everything. For tapas, the following were big hits... Trio of spreads (tzatziki, hummus, muhammara) with pita Crispy Brussels sprouts with apple, shallots, butternut squash puree Wild mushroom and spring onion pizza Wood-oven roasted octopus with charred eggplant caviar, fennel relish Added to that we had an excellent paella and red sangria The menu is a bit limited with 7 entrees, but with salads and starters worth making a meal out of, there is plenty of variety. The staff was friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Came here for a team lunch. I love the interior - it's such a nice space and it has a nice view of the Ferry Building. I got the dry aged smash burger for my meal. I was surprised to see how small it was, but it had two patties, so it was actually filling. There was a lot of meat and bread and could have used more onions and pickles or a slaw or something. Fries were okay. From the one meal I had, I would say come here for mostly the atmosphere.

Yelp
You know, this was ok but could have been better. There was some club-med meets a night club kinda dishes that were just A-OK. The space is beautiful as it should be along the waterfront but I really don't see this as a I'll go back kinda place even though I did think the food was a bit better than most.

Yelp
The food at Sens was absolutely delicious! The portions were large and filling. The dessert including the yogurt and sorbet were sweet and was a good contrast to the Mediterranean food. The restaurant is on the third level of the building and was pretty difficult to find. I recommend leaving time before your reservation to find the restaurant. We took the BART and got off at Embarcadero and was a short 4 minute walk. We sat outside and the view was dazzling. The Embarcadero port is right in the center along with the views of the city. During sunset, it was so beautiful, especially with the fire nearby to keep us warm. Our server was so kind to move the fire closer to us as it got chilly after sunset without asking. Our hostess Tiffany was incredibly caring as well and attentive to where we wanted to sit. I would definitely recommend dining here if you have the opportunity!

Yelp
I came here for happy hour with my coworkers and we got seated in the garden. They have inside and outside seating and we chose to go with the outside seating. The view was very nice. We got drinks and a small bite. I got the east meets west drink and it was really good. We also got chicken tenders and fries off of the happy hour menu. The chicken tenders had 2 sauces and i really liked the honey sauce, the fries came w aioli sauce and ketchup. I would come here again to try their restaurant next time.

Yelp
What a hidden gem! In a city I lived in for 7 years, I never knew this spot existed. It's on the third level of 4 Embarcadero center, so you need to take an escalator and some stairs to get up there (I assume there is an elevator that I just missed). We did a team happy hour here, and for 20 people or less, they do not require a minimum (HUGE for the corporate planners out there!). They gave us an awesome high top long table in the middle of the bar, and let us bring some signage so our group could easily find us (we just brought a table topper). For happy hour food, people seemed to like the fries and flatbreads, and all the cocktails they offered. We also tried a delicious carrot juice based mocktail... I highly suggest that! Our waitress was lovely, and after a few beer orders she suggested a pitcher, which gave a fun vibe to the happy hour... there's something about sharing a pitcher of beer together... am I right? Lastly, the customer service was truly wonderful. Our happy hour lingered much longer than I thought it would, and they didn't rush us one bit. We had a dinner reservation at Sens for 6:15, thinking we would be wrapping up by then, and we didn't sit down until 6:45pm. What really impressed me is they saved our outdoor table so we could still get the view of the ferry building and bridge while we had dinner. THANK YOU to the Sens team for making our first team dinner so memorable!

Yelp
Terrible pasta de Pepe seriously bad. The rest of the food we ordered was ok. Service also not good. We told them politely about how bad the pasta was after we each took 1 bite and they they just brought us sorbet at the end of the meal and still charged us. They also forgot a dish that we ordered and it never came. Love this location and the over look they have. I was into the spaciousness in there snd plants but a cool ambience & bad food does not cut it. Step it up

Yelp
Food: 4-5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: Formal casual Depending on the dish, it's a 4-5. I thought the Mediterranean spreads were very tasty and flavorful (5/5). The Brussels sprouts and crab dip are a 5 for me. I personally really enjoyed the paella since I enjoy my paella with meats, but flavor wise, it wasn't one of the top tier paella I've had. Pork chop and lamb were nice (4) and flavorful but not the top dishes for me. A ton of business clients and folks go for happy hour.

Yelp
Great dinner spot! I went here on a date and it was lovely. one complaint was that due to where we were sat i think we were kinda forgotten so service took a bit. however the food was amazing. i had the half roasted chicken and it was moist and seasoned greatly. also the lentils and veggies with it were great. i'll definitely be returning here

Yelp
Great location in Fidi with lovely ambiance. s expected its bustling with fintech folks, but the food is good and service is very helpful albeit can be slow during happy hour.

Yelp
This place was okay, but bright side they validate parking. The food was mediocre. I don't think there was anything that stood out. The restaurant is definitely a popular place for team/group dinners. There was probably at least 5 team dinners going on. I got the Branzino which was good. If I came back I don't think I would get it again. It was $43 and I felt the portion was a little small. It didn't come with any sides just fish with a few clams and veggies. The flavors meshed well, but nothing that stood out. My bf go the NY Strip. I tried a piece and it wasn't bad either. I think I would have preferred this dish over mine. The meat was tender enough that my bf could cut it with a butter knife since the waiter forgot to get him a steak knife. The steak was nicely seasoned, but definitely had better elsewhere. For appetizers, we got the Gambas and Ahi Tuna Crudo. They both were alright. The Ahi Tuna quality definitely seemed on the cheaper end. The Gambas had lots of flavor, but I wish it had more bread or the garlic butter sauce. I thought the shrimps would be bigger, but they were on the smaller side. I don't think either dishes were worth the cost. I feel the most worth appetizer would be the Mediterranean spreads just because it seems like you get a variety of things to try. The drinks were hit or miss. 2/4 drinks received were good. The Ready 4 Whatever which had carrot juice was good. You could barely taste any of the alcohol and it just tasted like a fresh juice. The other drink I really enjoyed was their seasonal Apple drink (I think it was called the Fallback). It had apple cider vinegar in it. You could taste the alcohol a little in this drink, but most of it was masked by the Apple Cider Vinegar. If you don't like Apple Cider Vinegar taste then you probably don't want to get this cocktail. The Honey Hive and Japanese Julep were too strong for me. It only tasted like alcohol so I didn't even try to finish it. Overall, I don't think I would be visiting this restaurant again unless I was invited for another group outing. It feels like the restaurant is trying to be on the nicer end, but I don't think the food equals the cost.

Yelp
This is our team's usual dinner place. So far Sens has been a great spot for Dining. We generally get only appetizers and they are always very good. The service is fast and to the point. They have a large sitting place - we were 16 people who went for dinner. Falafel, Pita Bread and Shrimp rolls were my favorite. I felt they can probably reduce sugar in cocktail - a little bit of less sugar will not damage the flavor profile of cocktails.
google avatar

Tareq B.

Yelp
A friend recommended, having lunch and we showed up here and out without reservation. We were probably seated. The decor is classy and truly Mediterranean with elements of architecture built into this modern concrete structure. The entrance with the mosaic of stonework is beautiful. We were going to have dinner, so I went for a late lunch and I ordered the Fattoush salad, which comes with lemon vinaigretteand sumac. For protein I chose falafel which served were hot and crispy. It was an excellent salad, but because I was working, I avoided having a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, which will perfectly match with this combination of citrus sumac, vegetables and falafel.

Yelp
It's kind of hit or miss. I enjoyed my turkey sandwich, but the group I was with did not enjoy their French dips. I just think for the price you would expect more all around.

Yelp
We just had the best holiday party there! We had the best view! The staff was amazing and the food was delicious! Thank you so much for everything.

Yelp
Sens is a go to lunch spot for business lunches. The service is always on point and the food delicious. There are staples on the menu, but it does change with the season. The evening happy hour is really good too! Check it out if you are in the area. If the weather is good, sit outside to get views of the Embarcadero, Ferry Building and Bay Bridge.

Yelp
We stopped by here around 1pm on a Friday and were seated immediately. We didn't have reservations. Outdoor seating has a great view of the Ferry Building and the bridge. And the inside ambiance is great also. Our server was great, I wish I remembered her name. We ordered: Mushroom flatbread and Fattoush salad. Salad was 5/5 very crisp and refreshing. Mushroom flatbread was delicious as well. We also got their ginger mocktail and the carrot one and both were equally refreshing. The carrot one tasted like you're drinking fresh carrot juice so might be an acquired taste. Overall Atmosphere 5/5 Service 5/5 Food 5/5

Yelp
I came here for a holiday lunch with a couple co-workers. I had the Lamb burger. It was delicious, but impossible to eat without making a complete mess (glad these co-workers were friends and not executives). The burger was thick and juicy - but the bun just fell apart. Our Waiter Abdel was a doll - steering us in the right directions for what to (and what not to) order.

Yelp
You can't go wrong with ordering the meatball calzone! It was huge! It was stuffed with cheese, veggies, sauce, and meatballs. I opted for their fries which came out hot and crispy. Just the way I love them. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside and out. Our group dined outside with the views of the Bay Bridge and SF Terminal. We totally lucked out because the weather was just perfect for outdoor lunch dining. I would love to come back to try their other dishes and especially the cocktails.

Yelp
Sens is a beautiful restaurant with a great location and vista, however the food really fell short for me. We ordered a couple appetizers that were really delicious. However one of our main dishes, the cacio e Pepe, was awful. It was basically spaghetti in water, no flavor. We asked our server if the dish that came out was the cacio e Pepe, they confirmed it was. I told them it was really terrible and had no flavor (rarely do I say anything but it was that bad). They offered us a scoop of sorbet as a sorry, and still charged us for the pasta. Sorbet wasn't very good either. Strong start with the appetizers and an awful finish with the rest of the meal. Missed the mark for me!

Yelp
This is a happening spot for holiday happy hours! I was shocked how crowded it was on a Wednesday night, and it was hard to hear anyone more than a couple feet away from me. I would come back only with a smaller group. RESERVATIONS Made by phone a few weeks in advance, a group of 15 at 5pm on a Wednesday. The day of, we had several co-workers out sick, so I called around 3pm to update our reservation (and spoke to someone who confirmed they were making the change) and push it back to 5:30pm. However, the time change didn't go through and we almost lost our table. We also didn't get outdoor seating (which they were clear was never guaranteed). THE FOOD * La Nina Fresa - 4 stars Described to me as a spicy strawberry margarita, and it was great. We got several appetizers: Mediterranean Spread - 3 stars (pita was quite flat, almost soggy) Salted Cod Brandade - 3.5 stars (not my thing but colleagues loved it. The crostini was over-toasted to the point of being too hard) Crispy Chicken Drummetes - 3.5 stars (good!) Gnocchi - 4 stars (nice crisp) Fries - 3 stars (a bit too dry, thin, and uninteresting for me) Roasted Rainbow Cauliflower - 4 stars (nice flavors) Brussels Sprout & Butternut Squash Flatbread - just realizing I ordered this but we never got it!

Yelp
First time coming here for dinner! Made a reservation for Thursday night and I love that they were so accommodating (especially since my party numbers kept changing). Got an amazing indoor table that faced the windows and had a lovely night view of the Ferry Building and the Bay Bridge. Service was great. Give it up to our server for knowing what to recommend and also not batting an eye when I didn't want alcohol and instead offered up non-alcoholic alternative options. Service was quick, efficient, and effective throughout the night. I ordered the duck breast with artichokes and it was cooked to perfection. I was maybe mildly hungry and even with 4 pieces of perfectly cooked duck, I was pretty much full. I didn't order any appetizers/starters. Two people in my table ordered the New York steak and to quote them it was "melt in your mouth." In terms of price point, I don't think it'll be a surprise to say that there's an ambiance/location mark up. Probably mid-to-high priced for SF. Per person it came out to be around $68-86 per person (fees+tip included) depending on what was ordered. Overall this place has a really great vibe and even better views.

Yelp
A great place for a laid back happy hour with coworkers! I came in a group of 3 during the DreamForce week and was still able to get seated despite a huge area of the restaurant being booked for a private event. Food - we ordered the crispy chicken wings, gambas, moroccan taquitos. All three dishes were really solid and would recommend! Service - despite hosting the a large private event, we were able to get seated right away near the large tree in the outside patio, which ended up being really nice! The waiter was also friendly and super patient with us. However, given the place is super busy, the service was on the slower side Overall - would recommend this place for happy hour and drinks if you're in the area! It has great food and drink choices and also located in a convenient location near the Ferry Building

Yelp
Been meaning to try this restaurant since we moved in the neighborhood and so glad we did! Service was on par and they even seated us with a great view on the Embarcadero. One of our favorites was their hummus appetizer, with a variety of hummus flavors and the red pepper hummus with walnuts was super delicious and wished they offered it in tubs to purchase to-go. For the mains we ordered their fattoush salad and their roasted chicken dish, perfectly paired together and great for sharing!

Yelp
We came with a reservation on a Friday night at 6PM, and they sat us right away. Ambiance: The interior had Mediterranean stone decor with vines, and low warm lighting. The glass windows provide great views of the Embarcadero and lit up Bay Bridge. Fancy, yet warm ambiance. Food: We got the Gnocchi appetizer ($12) and it was soooo pillowy soft drenched in a rich sauce. I've never had gnocchi that good. The Seafood Paella ($43) for 2 came with large shrimp, tender chicken, sausage, and perfectly cooked rice on a piping hot pan. It was also absolutely delicious - definitely large enough to share. Cocktails: La Niña Fresa ($16) was a spicy tequila drink that came with freeze dried strawberries. Oaxacan Winter ($16) was a mezcal citrus drink. Both were artisanal and artfully crafted, we got multiple orders! Price: It is pretty pricey, but the drinks and food were crafted with love. Good date night if you're really trying to impress someone. Service: Servers were friendly and attentive. Food and drinks took a while to arrive.. so not recommended if you're looking for a quick bite. Great for a long night date.

Yelp
Sens has an unbeatable view of the Ferry Building, which makes up for anything else! I've been a few times and it's a perfect place to take out-of-town guests. The space is pretty great and no matter if you're sitting inside or outside, the ambiance and view are perfect. There's a full bar, a good wine list, and solid food options as well.

Yelp
Last Friday, I met up with my former colleagues & friends at Sens Restaurant on 4 Embarcadero Center. Actually my former company used to celebrate our annual Christmas party at Sens. So my friends went for happy hour and ended dining at the restaurant. The relaxed ambiance of the cocktail lounge (outside) is popular to the guests. Our server was attentive and we had the Mediterranean spreads as our appetizer. We had to order more pita breads. My Mezcal drink was delish. My friends ordered their glasses of white & red wine. For dinner we had the paella & fattoush salad that we shared. We also ordered the glasses of Tempranillo, Cune, Reserva, Spain '17 & espresso martini. It was a lovely evening!

Yelp
On the pricey side but good food. Well suited for a work dinner, they accommodated our large group (18) without any issues/delays in food and with great service

Yelp
UNVIRTUAL CHRISTMAS COMPANY LUNCH For the last two years company Christmas lunches were nonexistent due to the pandemic. December was the first time in two years there was a company Christmas lunch where coworkers from my company would interact. The day of my company's Christmas lunch was also the day of the World Cup Semifinal between Argentina and Croatia. (When I went to Sens Restaurant the game was playing on the TVs at the bar). I always believe when you eat at a restaurant if a dish has a name of the restaurant you should order it. My dish for the company Christmas lunch was the Sens Paella. The server recommended the house white wine with the paella. What I like about the paella it was served in paella pan, which retains the heat of the paella. Too often paella that are served in a regular plate tend get cold during dining. I also like that the Sens Paella was hearty and not heavy. The sausage soaks up the broth while chicken and shrimp enhance the flavor of the rice. The house white wine was a great compliment drink for the paella. At any restaurants I do care if the bread is hot and fresh. The pita at Sens Restaurant was light and goes great with the spread provided. Most of all I enjoyed the camaraderie from work for this Christmas lunch. Part of the energy inside Sens Restaurant is that it's located across from the Ferry Building. If you have company lunch Sens Restaurant is a really exceptional place for that occasion.

Yelp
Sens is a great restaurant that's been around a while. Solid food and great service. Love that you can see the ferry building. Happy hour is great too
