Very nice environment, baked goods are staged beautifully. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about there product , which is important for a vegan bakery. As far the baked goods, flavors are excellent . Some things are on the dry side , however some of the best vegan baked goods I ever had. Definitely worth giving it a try.

Well I was planning on taking a picture of the cake pop that I bought but by the time i signed into google to leave a review i had already finished it! It was THAT good. Im so excited to try the muffins and cookies! I live in CT and have a medical condition that I can’t eat gluten or dairy so stumbling upon this bakery was EVERYTHING!!

the food here is amazing every thing is so delicious. As well with the service the workers are very kind and will greet you with respect. The atmosphere here is really cozy and warm. Overall this place is one of my favorite bakery’s that I would always come back to this place

Google
Love Sensible Edibles! They have the best vegan, non-dairy, gluten-free, allergy friendly and organic baked cookies, muffins, cakes, cupcakes and brownies I have ever had. My personal favorite is their raspberry hazelnut bars. I also love that their brownies are nut-free. Did I also mention their entire kitchen is gluten-free so you don’t have to worry about cross contamination with that. I can’t speak too highly about the food. Now on to the service: always with a smile! Plus the staff is super informative about everything they make and transparent about ingredients and cooking. My favorite things are in the photos. Go check them out!

This place is one of the best bakeries that I’ve ever been to. The staff is cool people. What makes this place stand out is that they have allergy and diabetic friendly, and vegan and gluten free baked goods. These goods are a healthier option for me and my family because the ingredients are organic and natural. My brother’s and my personal favorite is the gluten free marble loaf, the new frosted cookie crunch and salted chocolate cookie, it goes well with a cup coffee/tea in the morning. Every time we order something from here it’s finished before the end of the week. I’m sold! The selection is wide so be prepared to hang out for a minute or more to decide what you’ll take home.

Google
Super cute place with LOTS of options and flavors. A gluten-free dream! Can’t wait to go back and taste more of the goodies. However— be aware of the sugar content on some of the baked goods. A muffin can have almost 40 grams of sugar. That would be my only complaint. I’m already gluten and lactose intolerant—don’t want diabetes 😅

Google
My husband and I are gluten free, so it can be difficult to find specialty cakes for occasions. I’m so glad we found Sensible Edibles! They also shipped his birthday carrot cake without a hitch! Great service, delicious products, seamless delivery! Can’t ask for more! Our German Shepherd loved it too! 5-Stars!

Google
This place has the best gluten-free, vegan bakery goods I have ever had! I became a repeat customer (even after moving across the country) because of their big, chewy centered cookies that worked for my dietary restrictions. The seasonally flavored whoopies are also to die for. Definitely cannot recommend Sensible Edibles enough!

Yelp
This bakery is truly a blessing! I've struggled to find delicious gluten-free baked goods so I was more than thrilled to discover this gem. Everything here is not only gluten-free, but also vegan and free from artificial ingredients. Takes the guilt away from enjoying desserts I've had a variety of their cookies, muffins, cheesecake and even had a personalized cake made -- all were amazing!! The bakery itself is adorable, and the staff is incredibly warm and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Yelp
the staff are so kind! it's amazing how it's both gluten free and vegan, i can never find a place that does both. and plus the matcha lattes taste amazing, I go here every afternoon. it never misses!

Yelp
I looked up this bakery after purchasing their chocolate chip cookie at a vegetarian takeout restaurant a couple times. It is so good that I had to find the source, so I found their Google page and Instagram account. I received a chocolate chip cookie, chocolate chunk brownie, raspberry hazelnut bar, grassroot bar, energy cookie and apple oatmeal cookie in the mail, packaged beautifully and individually wrapped. I don't have any allergies or dietary restrictions and would still go for their products, everything I tried is delicious! My favorites are the raspberry bar (it has a perfect crumb topping that could go against any non-vegan crumb cake) and of course the chocolate chip cookies (my go-to sweet when I want to treat myself). The grassroot bar reminds me of zucchini bread. I have friends with allergies and those with gluten sensitivities, so I recommended it to them, and recommend this to anyone looking for delicious baked treats!

Yelp
Great variety and looks delicious!!! Totally recommend it. A lot of soy free, dairy free and gluten free options. Must stop by!

Yelp
I'm not vegan nor is my diet gluten free but for Thanksgiving I was last-minute tasked with supplying a vegan dessert so Sensible Edibles it was. Thanks, Yelp! Bruh. I got the apple crumb cake and it was freaking bomb. One of the best pies. Truly. The customer service was on point too. Amazing staff, really cute bakery, and they threw in a complementary brownie which was also very good.

Yelp
What an amazing cake !!! I arrived today in search of a gluten-free-vegan cake for my wife. Anyone looking for this combo knows it's hard to find with any flavor at all. They had a bunch of options ready for purchase, and we went with the banana walnut. Absolutely delicious ! Also picked up some small snacks as well. My wife who has the allergies really loved everything I brought home. The folks that worked there were kind as well. Can't recommend this place enough !!

Yelp
Amazing bakery producing delicious health conscious goodies. True mom and pop establishment for over 20 years serving all of NYC and Long Island. I love their cafe located right in front of the bakery. As your ordering up something delicious you get to smell and hear the magic from behind the scenes. Plus their staff makes you feel right at home, from their warm welcome to their friendly smiles. Tip: It's best to support small businesses and totally worth starting here. Cheers

Yelp
Sensible Edibles provided me with a small wedding cake this past weekend. They saved the day & made my wedding day that much sweeter! I was able to do my cake cutting moment with ease because of them- I ordered a sugar free, dairy free & gluten free chocolate cake. The frosting was the only part where sugar could not be avoided. It was delicious, and also very beautifully made-and I have the rest in the freezer for the next 3 months. I had placed my order last minute due to a wedding emergency & they still were able to deliver perfectly. My husband and I were so grateful and touched by the personalized wedding card they had for us that listed every ingredient and wished us well on our special day. Over all a high quality experience. Can't wait to visit the shop when we are back in the area for a treat. Highly recommend!! Thank you all! it's so hard finding anything I can eat confidently so this made such a difference to my day!

Yelp
3.5 stars, rounding up for the incredible prices Hidden in a side street, Sensible Edibles is primarily a wholesale bakery that has opened up a small cafe to sell to locals in the area. In addition to their baked goods (primarily muffins and cookies, with a vegan focus), they also have a menu of sandwiches and salads. The sandwiches were super reasonably priced ($6 for a turkey sandwich). I got their special hummus sandwich, which came with hummus, eggs and veggies. The eggs in the sandwich were the highlight - perfectly overeasy, and while all the ingredients were fresh, I didn't think they came together all that well (to be fair, they were missing mozzarella and I think the eggplant was subbed out for zucchini, plus I belatedly remembered that unless it's super smooth high quality hummus, I tend to not love having it in a sandwich). But I imagine with a more straightforward / classic sandwich, it would be quite solid. The apple crumb muffin ($3), which is supposed to be one of their most popular items, was good and moist, but too sweet for me (I prefer lighter / airier desserts). Not a knock on their muffin - if you like muffins definitely check them out - just not my personal favorite. They do have a huge variety of other muffins, many which are vegan / healthier (although I question if vegan actually means they're healthier). The carrot walnut with cream frosting is supposedly also quite popular, as is the pumpkin cinnamon. Too bad they were out of their oatmeal cookies which sounded like are also quite good.

Yelp
Literally the best choice we've made as a company to use Sensible Edibles. They are reliable, friendly, professional, but more importantly, their pastries are delicioussssssss. Not to mention, a large majority of their menu is vegan/GF. Wow.

Yelp
Great to have another baked good option in the neighborhood for we allergy sufferers! Had the vegan pumpkin cheesecake and a gluten free carrot muffin. Both were tasty, though the pumpkin more than the muffin (moist, but tasted maybe a little starchy?). There wasn't a huge selection readily available on a Monday afternoon. If you're looking for something particular I'd order ahead.

Yelp
Can I just say outstanding customer service? I desperately needed to order a gluten free dairy free birthday cake to be delivered in two days! I had mistakenly ordered a vegan carrot cake that was not gluten free. After realizing my mistake I ordered a chocolate bunt cake as well. Jesse took the initiative and texted me to clear up the confusion and credited the carrot cake back to my account without me asking! Later, Jesse informed me the bunt cake would not arrive in time due to the baking schedule and asked if I would I like to swap it out for a chocolate fudge cake instead? But of course I would! Jesse saved my ass, and for this I am truly grateful!

Yelp
I discovered Sensible Edibles in around 2020; my boyfriend can't have gluten or dairy. We got a chocolate bundt cake, and it was so fantastic, we have gotten one a few times a year ever since! Their muffins and brownies are superb, as well, we have company often and they are loved by everybody. I keep them in the freezer, and they taste great. I have been trying to eat less sugar for years and their line of low sugar baked goods are all so good, too; I buy the muffins and scones. It's better to order in advance if you want to be sure you get what you want; though you can pop in, they always have a big variety of different, and sometimes surprising new, treats.

Yelp
The most delicious and generous bakery I've been! Dear Louis, guided me through nutritional facts and health values of most products. He gave me 2 brownies on the house, saying they are trying to appeal to vegan and gluten free customers! The Double Chocolate one, is the softest fluffiest most indulgent brownie I've had! My personal favorites are the apricot and raspberry bars, made of hazelnut flour! Soft and gooey and crusty, exquisite taste! They also have two cats you can play with!

Yelp
We ordered a chocolate GF Bundt Cake for a co-workers birthday and it was SO good. It was light, chocolatey and delicious. I would even go as far as to say it was better then Marthas Country Bakery , dare I say! It was delivered to our office and the customer service waThey even threw in a GF cookie for the birthday girl on the house! We will definitely be ordering from here again! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Wondering around LIC, I found this tucked away. Ordered a $1 lemon bar and got a pumpkin muffin for free! Friendly, chill environment. Affordable. The lemon bar was a *bit* spongy and eggy rather than lemony and gooey. However, it didn't prevent me from gobbling that down, too. The muffin was moist, light, and not too sweet. I'll return to try some of their bars. And order a pumpkin muffin.

Yelp
Welp, here I am again. At the bakery that supposedly caters and supplies several of New York's establishments with their baked goods. Located in an isolated and odd location for a bakery. I am pretty sure they don't get the bulk of their business from the retail store because it's in the middle of no where and small. Right in between warehouses and repair/workshops is this bakery that supposedly ingredient conscious in making it's food. I don't know about that one but their treats sure are great tasting. There's not much to choose from in their display case, it varies from day to day but you can surely count on brownies, cupcakes, cookies and cakes being available. It's unbelievable great quality baked goods by the piece is so affordable here, only $2 gets you something other places might charge $3-$4 for. You can really taste what goes into their confections. My last purchase was just a desert, walking around burning off the calories from lunch, I decide to revisit and see what they had. I already know their cakes and cookies are good, so what looked yummy to me was the Rockyroad Brownie. A huge cube of 1.5" high fudge looking desert topped with marshmallows and then dipped in chocolate. The chocolate it was dipped in was no joke, nice flavor to it. The marshmallows were soft and incorporated in the brownie well. The brownie itself was dense and had a really great texture, not crumbly at all but bonded soft, creamy and smooth. The unfortunate side is this Sensible Edible location has no seating but does have a little refrigerator with drinks and a nice little stand to add sugar or honey.

Yelp
My favorite cafe/bakery in NYC. So many varieties including many gluten-free and vegan options that doesn't taste like it's missing gluten or dairy. Because it's a store attached to the main kitchen, which provides baked good as a vendor to other cafes around the city, the price is unbeatable.

Yelp
You know a vegan place is amazing when it makes you feel like you can go vegan. I ventured out to Sensible Edibles Baking in a last minute attempt to find a vegan cake for a co-worker. I initially thought I walked into a empty warehouse, but it had a couple of dining tables and it was more packed than I thought. Not all the items on display are vegan or gluten-free! It was my first time purchasing something vegan so I was struggling, but the cashier was super helpful and patient. I ended up choosing the walnut carrot cake. I also got to try the chocolate chip cookie (not vegan), and a brownie. I was expecting a bit of wallet damage, but this place was super affordable. A slice of vegan cake is $2, a giant cookie is $3, the bars are $2. I didn't know healthy food could be this cheap? I didn't get to try the cake, but my co-worker said the it was amazing. The chocolate chip cookie was SO good. It had shortbread vibes rather than a gooey buttery cookie. Shoutout to the cashier who provided great customer service! I'll definitely be back if I'm anywhere near the area.

Yelp
I hate to let the secret out, but this little bakery on a side street has some of the best food in LIC. They make fresh salads, sandwiches, and baked goods. What's amazing is that in a neighborhood that gets ever-more expenses, Sensible Edibles keeps its prices the same. It's very friendly, just be warned that service can be slow during the lunch rush.

Yelp
Great service, selection and prices. You won't find a better sandwich, soup, salad or baked good in the area. Sparse seating. People with cat allergies might want to stay away though.
google avatar

Zak N.

Yelp
They have delicious and healthy sandwich options. I always get a bacon, egg, cheese and avocado in the morning - all for $5! It's such a great deal that I usually bring back a sandwich for my colleagues. The only downside is that the woman at the register is miserable to deal with. She never smiles and seems to have a perpetual attitude. The other two guys that work there are super nice though!

Yelp
We were skeptical about this place because the bakery is on a street full of warehouses. It has some decent reviews so my friend and I thought we'd give it a try. Initially we wanted to go to Doughnut Plant near by, but we didn't realize they are only open on weekends. When we walked in there was one customer there, but it didn't seem busy at all, however no one greeted us. When we walked up to order the employee seemed annoyed/cold. Maybe they were having a bad day? We ordered coffee and asked which pastries were popular. The reply was "depends." Not very helpful. We ended up getting a GF brownie and the fudge espresso cookie. The brownie was OK. It wasn't any better than boxed brownies from the grocery store. The cookie was extremely hard - we just threw it away. The coffee was decent. However, my friend asked for soy in hers, but they gave her regular milk. So that too went in the trash because she is dairy intolerant. We didn't even brother going back to tell them.

Yelp
This place is truly a diamond in the rough. Its so good i'm not even going to finish this review.

Yelp
This place is an absolute gem. I happened to be walking around the area and just stumbled upon this place by chance. It is in the middle of some warehouses/large trucks and lots - totally random. They had a few trucks out front so I was wondering if maybe they had a food truck business on the side. Everything was extremely fresh and appetizing. All of the baked goods looked like they had just been baked, and they had everything from loaves, to muffins to different types of fruit bars. I got the sample the pumpkin bread and it was delicious and moist. I ordered the walnut-apple chicken salad sandwhcih and it was awesome! The bread was fresh and you could tell it was baked right there. The sandwhich felt like something my mom would have made and it made me very happy and felt home-y. The prices were great as well, the sandwhich was 5 bucks which is literally a steal for a bakery in the boroughs. Would definitely go back if I am ever in the area! Plus there was a really chill cat hanging out that was not having any of my petting lol.

Yelp
Went to Sensible Edibles for lunch today. It's a small cafe a little ways off the beaten path. The prices are sensible. The portions are good. I ordered a basic turkey sandwich with american cheese, red onions, and mayonnaise. It was rustic, delicious and hit the spot.

Yelp
Quite possibly the best unknown bakery in Queens. Perhaps being nestled aside a a correctional facility in the heart of an industrial district does not bode well for foot traffic. Though it seems their main business is supplying others, the counter in front is always stocked with a stunning array of delicious baked goods at prices seemingly too good to be true. There are always free samples too. Some sandwiches and coffee round out the menu, and the staff always greets you with a smile at this hidden oasis of cookies, muffins and cakes.

Yelp
Their sandwiches are amazing and perfectly go well with their coffee too. The guys are so kind and the food are so friendly and healthy. Love this place when I'm working at LIC.

Yelp
Definitely a hidden treasure, and I only know about it because I work near here. I can only recommend the sandwiches, which are made on order, cheap and very good. I get the apple walnut chicken salad, and I watch the guy chop the apples. The bakery products look really tasty; someday I'll try them. Very friendly and helpful staff, and two cats (only one friendly.) Don't let the prison location deter you, it's around the corner and there's no interaction at all.
google avatar

Yelp
The salmon sandwich and a cup of coffee is perhaps the best way to start your day! Fresh and delicious. I had a very early appointment in Long Island City this past week and happened upon the place. I'm glad I walked in (I had never even heard of it). The guy behind the counter was really friendly too. Recommended if you're in Long Island City, keeping in mind it's in an area with lots of warehouses. I'm willing to be they do good business during the day while workers are around. What a nice find!

M S.

Yelp
4* and not 5 because: 1. I think u have either the incorrect address on yelp or photos from a diff bakery uploaded to this address 2. You're not rated by the dept of health Positives: Great food and drinks although some of your items are a bit pricey. After meeting your cats my husband finally agreed to get one, so thank you!!!!

Yelp
Excellent food choices and service. Prices are much cheaper than nearby business. Baked goods are phenomenal!

Sam V.

Yelp
What's good? Their raspberry hazelnut bars and lemon bunt cake. I like those; they were my favorites. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices and affordable. Chill resident cat hanging around the place.

S K.

Yelp
I love this place. The food is fresh and tasty. I just finished the grilled chicken salad and I've never been so satisfied after lunch. I've also tried the grilled chicken sandwich and the chicken salad sandwich. I liked both, the only change I would have made was the bread selection. I actually ate the chicken salad out of the sandwich and tossed the bread. I enjoyed it all the same. The staff is friendly and they take their time preparing the meals. This bakery is hidden but once you find it you'll be happy you do.
