"With a host of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, Seoul Food serves Korean flavors while catering to nearly every dietary restriction. Dumplings, bibimbap bowls, and Korean tacos are on the menu. All can be paired with Charm City mead, ciders, and beers. The well-decorated space is just as Insta-worthy as the food." - Claudia Rosenbaum

"Seoul Food D.C. has transitioned from a food truck to a gas station eatery and now to a family-friendly neighborhood restaurant. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes including vegan options like kimchi-pesto pasta, bean-based croquette sandwiches, vegetarian sushi, and shiitake mushroom-tofu tacos. It also features spicy chicken quesadillas, beef bulgogi hoagies, and vegan lemon whoopie pies. Customers can add proteins such as marinated beef, pork, chicken, tofu, mushrooms, and kimchi to their rice bowls and specialty dishes." - Warren Rojas

When you walk in, you're immediately greeted by a lush array of plants and a clear view of the open kitchen, which adds a welcoming touch to the atmosphere. The staff behind the counter are warm and friendly, offering helpful recommendations if you're unsure of what to order. It's important to note that this is not a full-service restaurant, so orders are placed at the counter, and you need to grab your water yourself. We weren't initially informed of this, which led to a bit of confusion as we waited for our waters while seated. However, the staff were quick to apologize and kindly explained how the service works. We decided to start with the Jeju buns, tteokguk, and croquettes with curry, and later shared a fried vegan 'chicken' bibimbap. The food was exceptionally fresh, and while I can't speak to its authenticity, the flavors were outstanding. The kimchi jeju buns were a particular highlight for me, and I appreciated how vegan-friendly the menu is. I will certainly be returning and have already started recommending this spot to friends. I’m especially looking forward to trying their pistachio cake on my next visit.

Beautiful and delicious food!! If you like shiitake mushroom try homemade dumplings!

Google
Coziest, most delicious food in Takoma! I’ve been coming here for years and it truly never disappoints, everything on the menu is absolutely delicious and made with love. A few favorites are the Jeju buns, dumplings, Korean fried tofu sandwich, and the pistachio cardamom cake! The restaurant is so inviting and warm with all the beautiful artwork and plants, it feels like you’re hanging out at someone’s lovely home. A true gem

Google
Seoul Food D.C. offers amazing vegetarian Korean fusion cuisine that is both authentic and original. All of their dishes are very flavorful and include lots of vegetables. I've been here multiple times and I always leave satisfied --- nothing seems greasy or fast-food like, I feel like I've just had a wonderful, nutritious and filling meal.

Google
Loved it! I really struggled to decide what to order since everything looked so good, but they were really patient with me and gave me good recommendations. Got the korean sweet bun and the carmelized apple bun to go, and oh my god, I could eat half a dozen of those, amazing. Do not skip dessert. They accommodated my requests for order modifications and I'll definitely be back!

We were so full last night but we just had to come here !! This spot is closed on Sunday’s and only open for four hours !! Such a cute little place with authentic Korean food ! The owner was so sweet !! She’s super cute and really has a secret gem of a place .. please come here and show this place some love . We got there at 8 right before they close and got the last table . They treated us with love and respect and didn’t hurry us out at all .. they have a lot of vegan options too !! We got the kimchi pancake and the bibimpap bowl .. and ended it with the coconut lemon cupcake … omg so good 🤤!!!

Google
The worst food and customer service ever. We wanted to support this vegan establishment but they were so discourteous to us when our food was over salted. We ordered a variety of their popular dishes and had gotten the extra spicy for their bibimbap. However, spicy in this restaurant is just essentially more gojuchang sauce and if you get the extra “spicy” you will be served a salt bomb. The server failed to tell us this and brought a over salted dish that was not edible at all. I hate returning dishes at restaurants and thought that some extra rice could help with the saltiness and taste. We asked for more rice and still couldn’t eat it because of the salt level. We decided to take it home and add more rice there but when we were leaving they asked us to pay extra for the rice even after we complained about the salt. This is when I became salty because no one could have eaten that Bibimbap with that amount of salt! I can’t believe I was being nice by not returning the inedible dish in the first place. Instead of apologizing about their mistake, the management was apathetic, unhelpful and inhospitable. We were so upset by the entire situation that we left the dish with them, paid an extra 5 dollars for the rice and tipped the server way more than he deserved. It’s no surprise that we will never be returning here again. If you’re a meat eater who’s trying to support local vegan establishments, stay away from this place. There are way better Korean restaurants around here which won’t send your BP levels through the roof. Vegans have limited choices but I’d be sorry for anyone that has to deal with Seoul Food’s incompetency, ungracious hospitality and not to mention the unhealthy level of salt that could send anyone to the hospital. I can’t believe they’ve won any awards. HA - what a joke. You’ve been warned folks.

Google
I rated this restaurant 5 stars when it opened but the flavors have become more flat and less and less Korean every year. Bibimbap is basically just a dry chicken rice bowl with some unseasoned shredded carrots and radishes at this point. There’s nothing that cuts through the fat and starch and that wonderful balance of salt, fat, acid and heat of Korean cooking has been lost. The ambiance is still lovely and the staff are still friendly but the menu could use a refresh.

Parisa A.

Yelp
We absolutely loved everything about our meal! The kimchi had the perfect balance of spice and a touch of sourness. I especially appreciated the generous amount of veggies in the bibimbap--and even though I'm usually not a fan of shiitake mushrooms, I loved how they were prepared here. Everything blended together beautifully. The aesthetic of the place was adorable as well. Definitely planning to come back!

Yelp
A great Korean fusion restaurant. Makes me nostalgic for k-food trucks in LA. I appreciate the folks giving us an accurate estimate of how long it would take for us to seat and eat. Meanwhile, the decor was fun and we enjoyed looking around while waiting. Dishes were all beautifully vibrant in taste and to behold. My only little squibble is that we ended up ordering what turned out to be a redundant order of kale/beet kimchi for $10+. I really wanted to try this unusual dish and were told no other dishes featured it. But the janchi bento had it.

Yelp
So good! A vegan friend was visiting so I finally made the trek out here to get takeout and we all loved it, vegans and omnivores alike. Dishes that were sampled were the sweet potato japchae, korean fried "chicken", fried broccoli and tofu bento, scallion pancake, cardamom pistachio cake and the apple pastry buns. Of all of these, the only one I might not order again is the scallion pancake, it was fine, but kind of small for the price and I can get this at other places. The apple buns were the best thing my vegan friend has eaten in as long as she could remember. You wouldn't know they were vegan they were so yummy. The cake was really good as well but the apple buns stole the show. My bento was pretty big, I liked everything in it though maybe the dressing was a little overpowering? Just a little. Mine wasn't spicy at all. There was a tiny bit of heat in the japchae but not much. (Vegan Friend doesn't do spice and thought it was spicy, but me and hubs could barely detect any heat.) The KF"C" was nice and spicy even to us, heavy on the gochujang, honestly tasted exactly like the sauce my husband makes when he does KFC at home. The "C" in it sucks up the flavor very well. The portion size on his KF"C" & rice wasn't as big as the japchae or my bento though so go for this if you're not starving, though to be fair the "C" is very dense and filling. Parking here is a bit of an issue, we got takeout in preparation for that fact since hubby is on crutches. I did find parking on a side street but it was slim pickings. I'm not sure if it's legal to park in any of the nearby lots. Some signage about what's legal parking would be helpful. There were a number of tables inside though, and there's a bakery next door, so I'd love to come back for lunch and visit the bakery too except it's a bit far for me to come during the week for lunch so maybe on a weekend when my hubby is mobile again. Maybe we'll even try some of the meat dishes. But we didn't miss the meat at all. Prices are a bit on the high side though. Our meal was over $100 for 3 of us. If you just get one meal and no sides or dessert the meals you might be able to get lunch for about $20 a piece. Not saying it's not worth it for the quality, but it's probably not going to work if you're on a very tight budget.

Yelp
Food and service was great . The ambiance was comfortable; enjoyed my meal. A must try restaurant

Itzel M.

Yelp
Seoul Food has consistently been my favorite restaurant since their days in Wheaton. Their Cauliflower Japchae is my favorite and their lemon pecan cookies are perfection. Anna and her team have always made my family and I feel welcome, and I hope they continue to inspire diners for many years to come. If I could I would eat here everyday!

Ham N.

Yelp
This place was great, parking is a bit rough though. I got the fried chicken & kimchi dosilag & apple buns. Fried chicken was scrumptious Kimchi dosilag had multiple flavor and texture profiles, very nice. Rice portion was a bit small, but all good. Apple buns, sweet and flavorful.

Mike L.

Yelp
Food is absolutely amazing, vibes are immaculate. I got the Cajun chicken sandwich and the bulgogi tacos and they were insane. Jeju buns were a really good app!

Nayoung L.

Yelp
Excellent, authentic Korean food in Takoma park. Ordered kimchi pancake, side of rice and tteokbokki and everything was prepared fresh with high quality ingredients. For example rice was a good mix of white and brown rice and I was surprised my elementary school child ate it. I asked tofu side which wasn't on the menu and staff was so quick accommodate the request. I love the inside and outside of the restaurant- full of art, flower and plants. I highly recommend this place if you want to try Korean food out.

Samantha L.

Yelp
Horrible don't know if they've gotten better in the last year but it's not what I expected. Nothing like being in korea.

Ashlee A.

Yelp
Run. Don't walk. Random visit to try something new and every day I am thankful for finding this gem. Currently no dine in as the plants have taken over, but we could wait inside for our order. The employee was great with explaining items and answering all our questions. Everything was online so we weren't rushed as we browsed because all the options were so good! I finally decided on the firecracker quesadilla and sweet buns. Thought we could make the 20 minutes drive home but caved in as soon as we got back to the car. The sauce with the quesadilla was a great spice to include how big the chicken was inside! The tea star were the sweet buns. I have never had one before and the flavor, sweetness, and thickness was outrageous. Cannot believe there's something that good on this earth. I will drive 1,000 miles for those sweet buns because they're all I think about and are definitely in the running for the most perfect dessert.

Michael L.

Yelp
THE BIG: Cute, quaint Korean spot in the heart of Takoma Park. THE BLACK AND WHITE: To be honest, I wasn't expecting much out of a Korean restaurant in Takoma Park because when you think of Korean food in the DMV, you go to Annandale or Centreville. But wow, the flavors did not disappoint. I got the mushroom donburi and there's something about the shitake mushroom flavor that knocks my socks off! The lotus buddha was alright, the turmeric rice was very cinnamony. Lastly the firecracker chicken tacos were exactly as the name implied, straight fire! THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall the damage done was ~$49 for three dishes. A little bit on the expensive side but great Korean food around the area.

Sherry B.

Yelp
Why did it take so long for me to step in? I am now well nourished. I look forward to returning to dine in. I am needing more plants in my diet and will certainly become a regular. I am becoming a dumpling fan and Grandma's are the best I've had. The Lotus Bowl was hearty with a wonderful array of flavors. The pistachio cake a satisfying treat to end the meal.

Steve M.

Yelp
We have been fans for many years. Excellent quality food and creative flavors in Korean fusion

Jessica B.

Yelp
Delicious food, freshly made. Friendly service, and a cute ambiance. Always yummy. I love the rice bowls. Great flavors catered to the level of spice you choose. I will keep coming back:)

Sarah B.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the food and the ambiance! The workers were so kind, beer selection incredible, and although they stayed and communicated effectively on how busy they were, my food still came out quickly and was piping hot which I loved! Lots of vegan options too!

Aarti B.

Yelp
Love the new storefront - so happy that Anna and her husband opened up their cozy restaurant here! Can't count on fingers and toes how many times I visited the old Exxon gas station storefront in Wheaton since 2013 when I used to live in Silver Spring. Glad I finally made it out from McLean, totally worth it! While Takoma is crawling with vegan restaurants, Seoul Foods is hands-down the best! The extensive menu is a bit overwhelming with bibimibap, bowls, noodles, tacos, burritos, sandwiches, dumplings, etc. You can't really go wrong here! All the dishes are bursting with flavor. My favorites are the Lotus Buddha Bowl, Nirvana Jap Chae noodles, Veggie croquettes, Veggie Super Bibimbap with mushroom and kimichi. Nirvana Jap Chae noodles is a heap of slurpy clear sweet potato noodles with brown and white rice that soak up all the spicy kimichi flavor while the cashews add a nice crunch and the tofu, mushrooms and greens elevate the dish. All the ingredients and flavors blend well together. In addition to hearty vegan options, there are plenty of meaty dishes too My hubby enjoyed his meaty an spicy Firecracker Chicken Tacos. Don't miss out on dessert! Pumpkin whoopie pie, Cinnamon and chili truffles, and Apple pudding cake are amazing! The cozy restaurant is tricky to find and hard to spot while driving - look for a storefront with lots of plants on the windowsills located next to Spring Mill Bread and across the street from the Co-op at the intersection. It's about a mile from Takoma Park metro station and off the beatenpath, well worth the trek from McLean! Excited to come back!

Alex M.

Yelp
Very bad service, all of the employees were very rude and rolled their eyes when asked questions. The food itself is disgusting and dry. Please save your money

Julia N.

Yelp
Perhaps one of the best restaurants in the DMV...I totally see why it has gotten rave reviews. Delicious food! Kind service! Great ambiance! SeoulFood is absolutely charming and lives up to the hype. I had the tofu and kimchi bowl and scallion pancake, and my partner had the fried chicken bibimbap. Each were scrumptious! We finished our meals, leaving very stuffed & content. Our meals were flavorful, fresh, and hearty... healthy comfort food. We also appreciated the array of books to look through while waiting. If you're in Silver Spring/Takoma Park- this place is a must. If you're looking for a new restaurant to try in DC, do make the journey.

John B.

Yelp
They've opened up for brunch, during COVID time, with a few outdoor tables on the sidewalk. As operations go, theirs is very socially distant but really a hassle. You have to call in your order, spell it out, and give a card number over the phone, and then wait in silence outside until your food appears. It's not a huge place indoors, to be fair, but they're going to have to figure out how to do business in a practical way when it gets colder, and they're going to have to make ordering and paying easier. I've seen other comparable businesses do better. Their menu is still full of cool Korean fusion intrigue and vegetarian/vegan-friendliness. However, the rice cake soup I ordered was insultingly small for the price, and tasted fine, but was nowhere near as good as some of their multifaceted bowls. An apple cider donut that I in no way needed was nonetheless well executed, with the apple flavor infused in the donut, not merely coated on the outside. I still look forward to what new creations the menu might have the next time I roam by, but I'll be hoping for a bit better of an experience then I had this time.

Nadia J.

Yelp
This restaurant is located in a great area in Takoma Park. I have only picked up take-out from here. They have a small (2-3 tables) outside seating area. Inside it is inviting, hip, and has a cute lil nook with books. MANY vegan options. The menu actually looks like it has more vegan options than meat. Most of the entrees are $15 - $20. I am quite the eater and their entrees always leave me with room for hefty leftovers for the next day. The scallion pancakes are to die for. I look forward to having a dine-in experience here!

Mike B.

Yelp
The vibe the atmosphere is really nice with beautiful plants. All around, service was great, appetizers was very delicious, and the dish that I had unforgettable. I am from the outside of the Atlanta area but I will surely visit place on the regular on my visits with family and friends. THANK YOU SEOUL FOOD DC!

Khoi N.

Yelp
I've been a fan of this restaurant since the old days back at the Wheaton Exxon station. So glad they've moved to a larger space with plenty of authentic Korean food options. I stopped by recently with a friend to have the super bibimbap, chicken japchae and the scallion pancake. Wow portions here are generous and they pack alot of flavor. Each bowl was filled with plenty of fresh veggies and delicious meats. The scallion pancake was cooked to perfection and had a lil heat. I loved the decor here. Definitely a homie hipster type vibe. Guess you can say it's a fast casual restaurant with plenty of art to look at while your dining. I definitely enjoyed my meal here and we'll be back to try their tacos and Kim chi noodles.

Chad B.

Yelp
Nice selection of tasty food. Friendly service. Limited hours. More a place to pick up food and go then to sit down in.

Regina C.

Yelp
My expectations were exceeded! My friend and I just wanted to try a new spot and I saw this on my feed a few times so I thought let me give it a try and me and bestie loved everything!!! Our favorite was probably the sweet buns! They're filled with an apple filling that is just super yummy! We can't wait to try them fresh out the fryer. I also loved the scallion pancakes. I could eat a few of those as a meal. My bowl was cool it was just a lot of rice for me personally. I would like to try other things when I go back. The atmosphere was very cute with lots of color and plants. I hope next time their seating will be open. Great customer service as well. Highly, highly recommend! You won't be disappointed!!

Jessica M.

Yelp
I've never regretted getting takeout from Seoul food! Their fusion dishes are really original and delicious. Good for vegetarians and meat lovers alike.

Farah K.

Yelp
We were intending to get a quick bite to eat and this happened to be in the neighborhood when we were driving by. Forget the word quick though. There is pretty limited seating inside. It looks like a mom and pop place and the people were very nice and friendly. But people were left standing waiting for others to finish their lunch. And you can't really rush existing diners out the door. Service however friendly was slow. The bowl I got was pretty good but others with me did not much like their dishes.

George M.

Yelp
What is wrong with you George? I can not believe it has taken me this long to review one of my favorite restaurants in the DC area. The flavors in this place are just amazing. Who has ever thought to have carrots with ginger dressing along side of quinoa, beets, and apples with cinnamon and peanuts? (Eclectic farmer). How about that Lotus Buddha bowl? OMG, Slap my grandma that junk is so good. Cashews in curried rice with cabbage slaw and incredible vegan croquettes? whaaaa Yes lame-o, you can choose the lame decision and play it safe by ordering the bibimbap because that is all you know but your are missing what makes this place great! It's the fusion of flavors from the homemade cinnamon & chili truffles, the sweet potato smoothies, and the butternut squash curry. Seriously, you gotta check this place out.

Juliet A.

Yelp
Oooof. This was such a miss. My husband - who looooooves Korean food - picked up dinner for us from here the other day after reading all the stellar reviews. We got a kimchi bowl, bibimbop bowl, and an assortment of dumplings ("Grandma's dumplings"). Everything was really lackluster and disappointing. The dumplings were stuck to the paper in the take-out bag, so I ended up having to rip some of the bottoms off. Additionally, the doughiness of the dumpling was just too much...although the filling wasn't that great either (I have no idea what was in the filling - it was so bland and lacking any defining flavor). We were equally bummed by the bowls. While the portion sizes were generous, the flavors (or lack thereof) were disappointing. My husband - who has lived in and traveled throughout Asia extensively - was hoping for some more authenticity from the dishes. We actually ended up tossing the majority of it.

Swetha G.

Yelp
My friend and I tried Seoul Food D.C. for the first time last night after reading so many great reviews, am so happy to share that our experience matched that of many others. Everything was fantastic - the atmosphere, the service and especially the food! As soon as you walk in, you're greeted warmly and enter a space that is bright, cheerful and welcoming. I especially loved the floral patterns on the front door, and the many plants inside the restaurant, it gave the space character, and added to the warmth. The booths were perfect and comfortable for dining too. The service was very friendly and fast. We also appreciated how much the staff knew about the food and how helpful they were in answering our questions. As for the food, we split the scallion pancake as a starter, and it was delish! For our entrees, I had the Tofu & Kimchi Rice Bowl (made spicy), and it was hearty, filling and super tasty. My friend got the Korean Fried Chicken and it was amazing. I tried a bite of hers, and as much as I loved my Tofu & Kimchi, I liked the Fried Chicken more and am looking forward to getting that next time! In regards to parking, there's an open parking lot with plenty of parking extremely close to Seoul Food D.C. The lot is located between Takoma Auto Clinic and Takoma Park Silver Spring Co-Op. The parking lot is also directly across from the Automotive Gas Station. Seoul Food D.C. is a wonderful neighborhood eatery in Takoma Park, and an awesome local establishment to support!

Stephanie D.

Yelp
THEY ARE MOVING TO TAKOMA PARK, and I am really upset. My husband and I have gone to Seoul Food several times and in the past we always wondered what it would be like if they moved to another space...... IN WHEATON! We feel betrayed that they are moving out of Wheaton, especially when there are empty leases around. But I digress. I always appreciated that the dishes were fresh and flavorful. They usually have the same dishes on the menu but do rotate a few seasonal dishes. TIP: The best items are not on the printed menu above the counter, instead, pick from the handwritten blackboard! I especially love the Nirvana Japchae, and I love the sandwich cookies. We usually wait around 10-15 minutes for our food to come out, so it's not fast. We will go to this place a few more times before it moves in February. I'm not sure that we will go out of our way to drive to Takoma when it moves, but if we are in Takoma, we would look it up.

Christine P.

Yelp
This place isn't the easiest to find, it's inside/next to the Exxon gas station on the corner of University Blvd and Georgia Ave. However, their colorful bright decorations and cute decor makes you forget you're in a gas station! The location itself is a little cramped, there's one large table and two smaller tables so get there early if you're going for lunch or be prepared to sit with others! I've eaten inside and ordered take-out, and both times I've received my food in about 15 minutes. I usually order the super bibimbap (pork bulgogi and chives), which includes rice, baby green, carrots, daikon, red radish, and a sunny-side-up egg OR the Korean SuperBowl (if you're in the mood for queso fresco and cheddar). This past visit I thought the meat was overcooked and dry, and the vegetable portion was overwhelming more than the rice and meat, but that doesn't usually happen. They also display their dishes so you can see what you're getting! It's great that they have vegetarian and vegan options, and brown rice as well. Parking: metered street parking

Koreanita X.

Yelp
Meh. Food was very disappointing and way too salty. The service was good though but not enough to want to return, esp with so many Korean restaurants in the area.

Jim Nichols N.

Yelp
This is such a special little place from the moment you walk in you can sense the good energy of this place. Beautiful plants and art everywhere and the attention to detail is perfect. The same goes for the food which every element of each dish is prepared with love and thoughtfulness. The food and the flavors are just spectacular and each bite is magical. The staff are all very friendly and smiling. This is now one of my favorite go to dinner places and I crave the food and flavors. I've tried many of the dishes and each one is thoughtfully prepared with special favors and unique elements to each dish.

Mina L.

Yelp
A very cute space and the food comes out fast! The atmosphere is very relaxed. When you first come in, you order at the register/pay before sitting down. They will then bring your food to the table, but make sure to grab napkins, water, and utensils as needed! The menu has fusion Korean food and lots of vegetarian and vegan options. I was slightly disappointed that the avocado quesadilla had no cheese in it, and it was not written anywhere ... my boyfriend thought the superbowl was good, but not amazing. I think that the bibimbops are the go to option when coming here. If you want an alternative take on Korean and not traditional/typical Korean, this is an interesting place to try.

Mark C.

Yelp
This place serves delicious Korean food. You can park next to the gas station which is permitted. The shop is located next to a gas station. Shop is located inside a small area next to gas station They make your food on the spot. Not mass produced at the beginning of the day. The lady who owns the business always has a smile on her face. I would recommend you try all their dishes particularly the ones that are spicy. The chefs are very good at preparing the dishes and you can tell they put in a lot of hard work to making your food. Even though this isn't a big business, it's a hole in the wall type of food shop. Definitely give this place a try. You won't regret it. Food is delicious!

Michael C.

Yelp
Seoul Food is my favorite restaurant in the DC area! They serve Korean ~Seoul~ food and every single dish we've gotten there has never disappointed. On the left is the cauliflower japchae with firecracker chicken, and on the right is the super bibimbap with firecracker chicken. These are usually our go-to dishes, but you really can't go wrong here. They also have a wide variety of options for vegans and vegetarians! We ordered their vegan fried chicken appetizer last time which was amazing you definitely need to order from them!!

Satchel J.

Yelp
Delicious! Wonderful staff, great location, and absolutely divine food! The buns were supple and filled with different delicious veggies; the dumplings were warm and paired perfectly with the sweet dipping sauce; the bowls were large and packed witha variety of fresh vegetables and proteins. To anyone even slightly considering it, stop by Seoul Food DC. It will not disappoint!

Chun M.

Yelp
Chef Anna started this adventure in a food truck and it has evolved into a gas station quicky-mart. What's next on this culinary journey, a Michelin star? Her customers beat a path to her doorstep to enjoy her home style Korean cooking. It can get crazy busy in this tiny little corner of the gas station. At least we were able to get parking around the corner and they have a separate entrance. We were able to grab 4 seats at the window ledge because the communal table was packed with people with their heads face-planted in bowls of meat, noodles and rice. I just love seeing the samples bowls at the counter so you can see what you're ordering. We sampled a bunch of Korean favorites. The Japchae, Kimchi & Tofu bowl w/ Chicken and the Pork & Chives Super Bibimbap were good, but my favorite was the Beef Bulgogi Bibimbap. The ingredients are super fresh and cooked right there in front of you. Mix up your bowl with the fresh veggies and chow down. My only downside was that our Scallion Pancake was slightly burnt and didn't have a lot of scallions, though the dipping sauce made a valiant effort in saving it. You can really tell that Chef Anna cooks from the heart. She is even available for cooking classes, though I have no idea when that would be since she's busy cooking delicious food here all the time!

Isabelle P.

Yelp
To start off I didn't like how my boyfriend and I were immediately directed to use digital menus to order our food. it felt super artificial to me to not be seated and given a table to look at a hypothetical menu. Anyways for an appetizer, we ordered a kimchi pancake, and due to the price for one order of it I was thrown off to begin with. We were served a crepe with four pieces of kimchi. for our entree we orders the bibimbap and it was okay how ever it lacked flavor and a certain umph for the price we were paying for our food.

Yelp
Me and my wife had the worst food and customer service ever. We wanted to support this vegan establishment but they were so discourteous to us. It started with the server bringing me a cracked plate that was almost in two halves held together on the edge which he replaced after I told him about it without any apologies. We ordered a variety of their popular dishes and had gotten the extra spicy for their bibimbap. However, spicy was just essentially more Salt. The gave us an overly salted dish that was not edible at all. We hate returning dishes at restaurants and thought that some extra rice could help with the saltiness and taste. We asked for more rice which he said would be extra $5 without apologizing about the extra saltiness. Made it seem like it was our problem. This dish was so salty it would have given anyone instant high bp. We still couldn't eat it after adding the $5 rice because of the salt level. We decided to take it home and add more rice there but when we were leaving they asked us to pay extra for the rice without any apologies again. This is when we became salty because no one could have eaten that Bibimbap with that amount of salt! I can't believe I was being nice and not returning the inedible dish. Instead of apologizing about their mistake, the management was unhelpful and inhospitable. We were so upset by the entire situation that we left the dish with them, paid extra for the rice and tipped the server even though they didn't deserve it. It's no surprise that we will never be returning here again. If you're a meat eater who's trying to support local vegan establishments, stay away from this place. There are way better Korean restaurants around here! Vegans have limited choices but I'd be sorry for anyone that has to deal with Seoul Food's incompetency and ungracious hospitality. I can't believe they've won any awards. HA - what a joke.

Yelp
If I could give 10 stars, I totally would! I finally got a chance to go to their new location in Takoma Park. I absolutely LOVE their new space! It's like a more sophisticated atmosphere with their velvety couches and but it still has that lovely charm and pops of bright, vivid colors. It's so clean, modern, charming, and welcoming! AND THEIR FOOD OMG! Still as DELICIOUS as I remember it and such generous portions! I got the scallion pancake and even though it was on the pricey side, it was a very nice texture (soft and bit wet) and it had a lot of scallion pieces! The sauce to dip the pancake was also so yummy! I also decided to get the Nirvana Japchae with tofu and it is so fantastic! Love that peanuty taste and ton of fresh spinach! You can also adjust the spice level! I was so stuffed and still had a good half of it to take home. I can't wait to come back! HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR MEAT LOVERS AND VEGETARIANS ALIKE!!!

Yelp
I am a person of extreme transparency, & if I am not familiar with something, I have no issues in stating the same...I now know what BIBIMBAP is! & let me pay it forward, its basically mixed rice topped with tantalizing toppings. During my market excursion with my EBFF, she hijacked me to here & soooooo happy she did. I already knew that this Korean treasure was located in a gas station, yet did not anticipate I would be walking into a feng shui food environment. This is the best menu I've seen. Not only the big, colorful traditional one hanging over the cooking area (which was immaculate), yet the examples of dishes perfectly placed in Korean craftsmanship bowls that are on display for a visual choosing. Plus, you will find hand written notecards describing each of the magnificent medley. The one woman show was so beautiful, friendly, helpful & educating, I almost forgot we were here to eat. Especially since I was in awe of every square foot of this mini magical place I was surveying, photos to prove. Our delectable decisions we opted to share...as we all know sharing is caring: 1) Nirvana Japchae - an enormous bowl of sweet potato noodles with house sauerkraut, chive salad with nirvana mix that consists of shiitake, tofu, cashew, water chestnuts & a touch of ginger sauce. 2) Scallion Pancake - a huge jeon aka flapjack with special seasonings, scallions & soy/fish sauce. I couldn't partake as it contains eggs, but looked so delicious. 3) Vegan Croquette - comes in three & packed with so many tasty ingredients...just go by & try them, they are amazing. The entire lunch was amazing with the fresh ingredients being used, made & delivered to your table. The menu is not as extensive, yet the Vegan options is massive within all of the offerings of Bowls, Tacos, Burgers, Salads, Sides & Desserts. There's a cold unit presenting their "House Drinks" consisting of Cinnamon & Ginger Apple Cider, Lemonades & other combinations of fresh juices. They also offer Matcha teas & jarred Kimchi. On the sweet side, you'll find a handful of variety from Vegan Cinnamon & Chili Truffles, Organic Ginger & Date Cookies to a Hot Mexican Apple Turnovers that you have to request...can you say foodie diversity, ole?! There is an in-kind self serve atmosphere from water, utensils, condiments, discarding of the dishes, & if you bring back one of their bowls or one of your own containers, you'll get a discount. One might think a small space adjacent to a gas station is not embracing, yet let me tell you differently. There are tables, high-tops & counters to sit at. You'll see such a deep artistic decor of signage, table mats, rugs, floral & purchasing items throughout this compact space of wonder. This gem sits on the corners of Georgia/University Aves, with the main entrance off the latter, that will be locked sharply at 2:30pm to prepare for dinner. Lunch is 11:30am-2:30pm & Dinner is 5pm-9pm, closed on Mondays & Sunday. Parking at the gas station is cool, predicated spaces are available (have patience with the gas buying people) or pay the meter a couple of shiny coins & enjoy your feast of outstanding Korean food that really touches your Seoul.

Yelp
Cozy restaurant with fun decor, excellent service and delicious food. We loved the bibimbap (beef and pork) as well as the scallion pancake. Good beverage choices (see photo).

Yelp
My experience was with service was unsettling. The food is subpar and pricey. The ambiance is inviting from the outside but doesn't maintain that perception once you enter.

Yelp
If I could give this place 10 stars I would. You must read the story of this family business. We have enjoyed everything we've tried, & I cannot wait to take my son's girlfriend there as she is vegan. Please try Seoul Food. Watch their hours as they may have some more limited hours, but it is worth timing your dinner to coincide with their hours.

Yelp
This place just gets better and better. The presentation is gorgeous, flavors are insanely good, and the service is so friendly and helpful.

Yelp
A lot of tasty options here, but a favorite of mine is the cauliflower jap chae! It is easy to be vegan at Seoul Food DC
