Tried the beef bulgogi and Korean fried pork and both were amazing! The bulgogi came out sizzling, super tender and flavorful with just the right mix of sweet and savory. The fried pork was crispy but not greasy, and the veggies on top added a nice crunch. Portions were big and everything tasted fresh.

Delicious food and generous portions! The kimchi fried rice with egg was flavorful, the mapo tofu had a nice kick, and the crispy chicken was perfectly sauced. Friendly service and a cozy spot for a casual meal.

I had a tofu and vegetable bibimbap, I think the flavor was very mild, and there weren’t any vegan side dishes. Besides the spot is really good for food I think especially a place where you can calmly eat without feeling rushed. My friend had a beef bibimbap and she really liked that. It’s her favorite bibimbap spot!

I usually never write reviews, but this place needs improvement. Found hair in stir-fried seafood Jambong rice. This is not my first time finding hair in their food. I wonder how they passed health insepction.

This place is a little bit expensive, but the proportions are really reasonable. I ordered the cold noodles and the flavor. It was really good. I really like it. I recommend you to come here if you want some authentic Korean food..

The food is so fresh and delicious. It’s very flavourful and good portion. 3 dishes are more than enough for 4 pax. The gampong chicken is our favourite!!! ❤️ The customer service are very friendly and helpful too! Will visit again!

This is the place I come to whenever I crave Korean food. The flavors are always memorable and never disappointing. I also love that the staff are always so kind and friendly.

We did a dine in and ordered crab rangoons and stir fried seafood with rice. We got rice and noodles by accident but it was a good bonus for us. The food was fresh and hot. Place started with two tables full and then within 30 mins the whole place got packed.

This is our go to place for comfort Korean food. The portions are great and they have been consistent with quality each time we have come here. Most recently we tried their special menu with the mala spice which wasn't really our thing but other dishes (such as seafood pancake, seafood soft tofu soup, etc) didn't disappoint. Service is good though you do have to be a little more active to get their attention for the check when they get busier. Also the place can get loud when it gets packed which can make it harder to talk when with a larger group.

Ordered the jajang, tangsuyook, and daeji soondae gukbap - jajang was a little too sweet for my tasting and the veggies in it were undercooked while the pork was overcooked, everything else was solid and wouldn't mind coming back once in a while A little pricey but that's boston

Seoul Jangteo's Jjampong Noodle Soup (D6, $17.95) remains a savory, spicy, hearty, and heartwarming seafood noodle soup. The smoky wok-sauteed vegetable flavors permeate the already-seafood-rich broth. The portion size remains decent, though not the stomach-stuffing quantity that I remember from last time. On this winter Monday night, I got seating immediately, with the establishment looking at 1/3 capacity. I suspect winter break thinned out the student population. Street parking remained atrocious, however.

We've wanted to try this place for a while, and on a whim, we were able to try it last night after finding some near by parking. We were seated immediately on a Saturday night around 5:30pm, there were plenty of tables available. The seating area is comfortable and the dining area appears open and clean. The staff were friendly in our interactions. Seafood scallion pancake $15.95 - This was okay. Kind of on the flatter side vs more fried/fluffy and crispy at other places. Some decent sizes of octopus were found, small shrimp and scallions. Tangsuyook (large) $32.95 - Surprisingly, this came out first to our table. I always have to way forever for this dish elsewere. The portion size is not as bad as I thought it would be after looking at some pictures. Perhaps the pictures I saw were not the large size, which is only a few dollars difference. Just get the large. The sweet sauce is on the side and taste just like that, nothing special. There was a spicy sauce option that I wish I had tried instead. The batter is very light, so the crisp is very light as well. If thats your thing, you'll like it. I'm on the side that prefers a little thicker batter and more crunch. Japchae $19.95- This was very shredded-veggie heavy. Otherwise, taste like typical japchae I've had anywhere else. Nothing stood out to me. I feel $19.95 for this is on the high side for a simple dish. Ganjajang $15.95 - This taste just like jajian mian. I'm not sure of the difference. If you've never had it, I can describe it has black bean paste with HEAVY onions and a few chunks of pork (look for it, some are in there). Overall, the experience was good. The food just did not do enough for me to crave coming back vs trying more of the plethora of k-restaurants around the area.

Seoul Jangteo is a great option for casual Korean comfort food! The menu has all the Korean cravings I often desire and I really enjoyed the black bean noodles - the proportion of sauce to noodle was perfect, the flavor was subtle but delicious, and the noodles were long and chewy! The service was friendly, fast, and happy to refill our sides (although I wish there were a few more side options). There is also a decent amount of seating and space unlike some of the other smaller places on Harvard Ave which gives it a more comfortable feel!

If you're hungry for korean food this is a good spot for it. The servers are very attentive so you will not feel ignored when you come visit. We ordered the steamed dumplings, seafood scallion pancake, pork gukbap, and soft tofu stew with pork. Steamed dumplings: they were not worth the price and did not look appetizing. They had flavor but they felt a little over steamed. 1/10 Seafood scallion pancake: did not have much flavor and heavily depended on the sauce for taste. We wish it was more crispy as well. The pancake felt a bit soggy but still edible. 7/10 Pork Gukbap: if you drank the soup by itself it would just have pork flavor without salt. They provide a small dish that has salted shrimp that you add into the pork gukbap to add unami. Without it the gukbap would be bland. 8/10 Soft tofu stew w/ pork: I personally think that their soft tofu stew is one of the best in allston. Very savoryl and filled with tofu and pork. This alone would be enough to fill you up. It is a must have when you visit. 10/10

Food here is okay. Servers were curt and rude. Ordered the tangsooyuk and jjajangmyeon. Tangsooyuk was very crispy, but sauce was a little bland. Jjajangmyeon had good noodles and okay flavor. For some reason, all the food got cold within 5-10 minutes after being served.

Seoul Jangteo is the perfect Korean comfort food spot in Allston. Allston is like Boston's little Koreatown! My go to's to get from here are: seafood jjambong noodle soup, tofu stew, and tangsuyuk (fried pork with sweet and sour sauce). The jjajangmyeon is also pretty good from here. Last night, we ordered the seafood scallion pancake, a small spicy tangsuyook, seafood jampong (D7) with extra veggies & seafood, & stone pot pork with rice. Very generous portions, in my opinion. The prices may look a bit steep but it's because most of the dishes are meant to be shared family style. Seafood kimchi pancake was alright, it wasn't crispy and kind of mushy... probably wouldn't get that again from here. The tangsuyook was good! They definitely do make one of the crispiest tangsuyooks around. The stone pot pork was yummy and the jampong was amazing as always. Lots of shrimp, calamari, & noodles. I can never finish this dish because the portion size is huge haha. Service depends on the day... some days they are super attentive and get your in order within a few minutes of sitting down or you may have to wave for them to come take your order. Food tends to come out within a reasonable time though. One of my favorite spots in Allston to go to for Korean comfort food. I wish they were open for late nights or even until 11pm.

Stopped in on a busy Saturday night with a lot of people out and about on a rainy day. We needed a Korean food fix, something soupy and spicy. We were seated to the left of the entrance which was preferable, a bit more quiet than the main floor of tables to the right and within eye shot of all the service staff. We decided to order the spicy pork clay pot which i enjoyed a lot, let the rice cook in the pot a bit longer and get the crunchy rice texture with the spicy pork. Comes with onions peppers and shrooms. It's hot in the claypot, so be careful not to grab it by the bowl portion when moving it. I personally liked this dish as many, and added some Korean chili paste on top after for more flavor. The seafood scallion pancake color came out a bit underwhelming to the eye, but it was large slices, filled with seafood and texturally a bit mushy, would be nice to get it a tad crispier at least (somehow) but the seafood was cooked well and not rubbery (maybe that's why it wasn't on longer for the pancake portion to crisp up?) The seafood stew was yummy, the lady likes this dish whenever she eats here and it comes with a ton of noodles, array of seafood and tiger prawns (the upgraded bowl). Broth was tasty with a hint of spicy kick at the back of your throat it was nice on a chilly day. The crispy pork with spicy sweet and sour sauce was crispier than other places we've had, and the sauce was tasty, reminded me of gen gaus sauce haha. Enjoyable. Spot was a tad pricey but i think most Korean spots are relatively similar, the portions were just right and our belly's were full. No complaints. Service staff were really nice and accommodating tonight. Thank you!

Great Korean food but don't celebrate birthdays here! Service was definitely a 0 stars. LOCATION: Located in busy Allston, street parking only so good luck. The space itself is decently sized so it's able to accommodate fairly large groups. SERVICE: Had to rate this one first because it's a doozy. We were told okay on cake so we brought one to celebrate a birthday. When we got there, we asked a staff member if they could store the cake for us and they told us we can just keep it at our table. We were stunned but abided. Eventually we asked again and it finally made it to the fridge. They told us to let them know when we wanted the cake to be brought out. When we were done with dinner, we asked for the cake and they bought it out in the box along with the check. They handed us the box with no utensils, no plates, no knife. It's common sense that if guests ask you if they can bring a cake to the restaurant and hand you that said cake, you'll think to know they want to celebrate and eat it at the restaurant? All in all, service is LAZY and a bit unfriendly. But hey I get because it's a no frills and no nonsense restaurant. You eat and you get out so it's perfect for people who don't need to enjoy the dining experience. They kicked us out immediately and told us there was a long line of people waiting so they needed to clear it out. We left quickly thinking we were holding people up but as we were leaving we only saw a group of 3 waiting and we were at a table for 6. FOOD: Food was fine - the tangsuyuk and jajang noodles are always good. The food came out fairly quickly so that was appreciated. OVERALL: I don't think the food is amazing enough to go back and endure subpar service. There's plenty of other choices in the area.

Delicious Korean food restaurant! They got definitely got the taste and textures down. We got the fried calamari, japchae, jjajangmyun, tangsuyook, and the Bulgolgi. Everything was made really well. Would definitely come back again!

The ambiance was great, I was a little shy but like other Korean restaurants i've been to, they were very welcoming. The service was amazing, very attentive, very nice, and didn't rush us to finish like other places even tho it's a small restaurant yet spacious at the same time. And the food was super freaking good! I've been craving Jajangmyeon noodles for the longest time and i hadn't found a Korean restaurant that sell it and wow, i feel in love with this plate. I also had some crab rangoons and they were pretty damn good, very different then the chinese crab rangoons, so sweet and just soo good! Also the pork fried rice was amazing, not so heavy on the soy sauce so it was perfect! And the Makgeolli (rice wine- chestnut flavor) my favorite part! I will definitely come back!

The dumplings are very good! Meaty, juicy, with the right amount of crisp. Some menu items seem slightly similar but the staff was able to provide distinctions in the dishes.

We came here as a family and it was my son's first Korean food experience as a 2.5-year old. We were taken by surprise at hire friendly everybody was. The food was well prepared - not luxurious or expensive but just solid, hearty Korean food. No frills. It was reasonably priced and we could tell the authenticity of the place by the fellow diners, many of whom were Koreans. Thank you for a great meal!

TLDR: Tangsuyook is crispy, lite, and possibly coated in mochi powder to give a bit of chew with the crispy coating. I'm a dipper so I don't suggest pouring the sauce over the dish. Soondae Gukbap is hearty. I like flavor so I add enough saewoo jut (brined tiny shrimp) and the dabaegi (spicy dark red paste) and mix it well until it is saturated with flavor. My flavor is 3/4 of the brined shrimp and half the spicy paste. Makes me want to come back in a couple of days for some warm goodness!

I've been here a few times but each time I came, it became more disappointed. This time I want to try stir fry ganijajangmeon but I was disappointed because it lacks of flavor, the pork was also too overcooked and dry. Use a bit more fatty pork will make it much more tender.

It was cold and raining while we visited Boston and wanted soup and dumplings to warm our souls. It wasn't in my interest to get Korean food being half Korean and able to cook it myself, however, I'm glad we did! The place was not too crowded and the menu alone told me it was very authentic! It didn't take more than ten minutes to get our food and it was steaming hot, served in the stone bowls! The spicy bean paste tofu soup with beef is mild and filled with veggies, beef, and flavor! The bibimbap was okay. It could have used sesame oil, a fried egg instead of raw egg yolk but my partner did not complain. The boiled dumplings were not only cute, but tasty either the dipping sauce. Eat them fast because they cold fast! I dipped them into my soup to warm them.

Had lunch here with a friend. We had rice cake with kimchi, was tasty. It got cold quickly because it was winter and cold. Food tastes okay.

The wait was nice. There is plenty of seating on a Wednesday night. The fried shrimp is really good I highly recommend. The kimchi cheese tangsuyuk is okay, it was a good order for this spread as something to try but I would probably get the original next time. The seafood pancake is also pretty good. I wish the jajangmeuon had sliced cucumbers, but the sauce was good. I also wished the meat in it wasn't as tough. Overall, more of a 3.5 . I would still return and try their other dishes!

I've never been here in person before but it has become one of my favorite spots to get delivery. The staff always package everything very nicely so that it doesn't spill. While the prices seem steep on the delivery apps, the portions are huge! I always end up portioning the food into multiple meals. Their jjajangmyeon and tangsuyuk are solid options but I recently discovered some gems on their menu that I wish I knew about earlier: the soondae gukbap and gganpung pork! The soondae gukbap is rich and packed with a lot of pork. I wouldn't mind the dish having more soondae but the pork itself is super tender. This is not a dish for anybody trying to eat lean because there is quite a bit of fat, but that is what makes it so rich! The pepper paste, sliced peppers, perilla seeds, and fermented shrimp that the dish comes with add so much depth and dimension. I always thought that tangsuyuk was the best one could get when it comes to sweet-and-sour fried pork, but somehow the gganpung pork is even better. Maybe it's the extra garlic and onion aroma? The pork already comes smothered in sauce but still stays crispy! I look forward to the day I finally get to visit this spot in person, but for now I will stay a loyal delivery customer.

The fried chicken was good but expensive. The noodles were okay, felt like the flavor wasn't there. Overall gave it a three star given the expensive pricing compared to the taste of the food.

One of my favorite Korean restaurants near me. Food is authentic and service is great. The only con would be the prices are a bit steep. But since it's Boston, I don't expect low prices. It's hard to find authentic Korean food around Boston so this place is definitely a fan favorite for me.

AMAZING. Great food and service. I was craving jajangmyeon and Seoul Jangteo fulfilled my craving. We ordered the Hot Stone Pot Spicy Pork Dupbap, Jajang Noodle, Tangsuyook, Kimchi Fried Rice, Jambong Noodle, Kimchi Scallion Pancake, and Soft Tofu Soup (with beef). The Jajang Noodle, Tangsuyook, and Jambong Noodle were the most notable. The flavor of the Jajang Noodle was perfectly seasoned. I've had overly salty ones in the past so I was very satisfied with the Jajang Noodles. They also had great proportion of noodle and sauce. The sauce also had a good amount of meat and veggies. I also normally don't like Tangsuyook because I think it's too oily and the sauce is too sweet. I did not have that experience here. Lastly, the Jambong Noodle was so flavorful and full of seafood and veggies. I was so full but couldn't stop eating it. We ordered a lot of food and it was all ready extremely quickly. Overall really great service. Waiters were very attentive and fast. I can't wait to come back in the future for more Jajang Noodle and Jambong.

Korean food in Allston! This has been my go to when I'm craving Korean food in Boston. The atmosphere is pretty casual and I never have issues with service. It's a good spot go family style (servings feel like a lot for one person) and it can accommodate groups. Their menu has good variety and is good if you're looking for a filling meal and/or something on the heavier side -- lots of stir fries, stews, bbq, etc. and some drinks available (mostly beers and soju). It's located near the busy-ness of the Allston-Harvard-Ave area, so dessert is nearby as well as some nightlife activities like karaoke and/or clubbing. Additional notes -- they have one of the crispiest tangsuyook in the area and I always order it when I come. Other personal favorites include their seafood scallion pancake, stir fried seafood jambong noodle (they also have a stew version of this), and the cream shrimp.

I've been here a couple times now and it hasn't disappointed me yet! Does get busy around dinner time on the weekends, so best to arrive earlier around 5 pm to avoid a wait. We've tried the beef gukbap, soft tofu stew, and the Ganjjajang Noodle. Beef gukbap is delicious. It has the homey, comfort broth. Definitely a must if you're feeling under the weather. It's listed as spicy but it is very mild. This time we went, I asked for the soft tofu stew mild but it came out very spicy still, I wonder if they forgot to make it mild. They were kind enough to take it back and remake it for me without any spice. I typically love spicy food, but haven't been able to tolerate lately because of reflux smh. The ganjjajang noodle was tasty, my only complaint is that the noodles were a little well done. This place serves up yummy Korean comfort food, but can be inconsistent with their food.

Homemade noodles (jjyajang myeon) with black bean sauce were perfectly cooked and spice level was on point. Bibimbap could use more veggies and more banchan selection would be great.

It was so good I forgot to take a picture. Ordered the jjajangmeyon, pan fried dumplings and crab ragoons. Perfect amount for two. Order came up to about $36. Street parking only. First, the place smelled amazing! Jjajangmeyon- perfect noodles, texture and taste. The best jjajangmeyon I've had so far. Just the right thickness to the sauce. The noodles didn't stick together. Very slurpable. Pan fried dumplings - I expected pan fried dumplings not deep fried dumplings, but good nonetheless. Skin was a little thick but good crispy. Dumpling sauce was amazing. More salty than soy, with just a touch of spice. Loved the sauce a lot. Crab ragoons- the color was a little off putting. I thought they looked over cooked. But to my surprise..the filling made up for it. The filling was sooo good. Just the right amount of creaminess and saltiness. We finished everything. Highly recommend.

We came by around 2pm for lunch and it wasn't too busy. Food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the Jajang noodles, small order of Gganpung chicken and jombong seafood noodle soup. Food was tasty, this was my second time here. For two people, this was more than enough and had enough leftovers for dinner. However, when eating the leftovers, I found what seems to be a small piece of a Brillo pad in my jajang noodles (see picture). If I didn't run into this issue, I'd probably come back. But with so many other options in Allston, I'd most likely go elsewhere. Be careful eating here!!

Came here shortly after they opened on a Sunday, and our party of five was seated right away. It's a pretty no-frills place, which was mostly evident in the lack of service and the way our waters were never refilled during our meal. I ordered the Jajang Noodles, which is usually my go-to at Korean restaurants with the same vibe. I had come here before a few years prior and ordered the same thing, but this time around was pretty disappointing. The noodles were saucy but somehow lacked a lot of flavor. The onion to meat ratio was also pretty off, it felt like there was way too much onion. We also ordered the kimchi scallion pancake to share as a table. I enjoyed the crispy texture and chewy inside, as well as how fresh it seemed. Overall, come here for a chill meal of Korean staples but don't expect too much if you get the Jajang Noodles.

Came here on a Sunday at 11:30am. It was around when they opened. The place filled up pretty quickly. I ordered the pork gukbap and it was delicious. It was very flavorful. They offer banchan with your meal. For the gukbap they offer seasonings (salted shrimp, red pepper paste, and Thai chili peppers) if you want to flavor your broth or use it as a dip for your meats. The portion sizes are pretty good. You will definitely get full here. Their tangsooyuk is also not typical. It looks like they use rice flour that makes the batter extra crispy. It's also very airy. Big fan of this style.

Too sweet for my taste. Pretty good overall but not spicy at all. Great service atmosphere, very clean as well and the staff is super nice

Met up with friends for dinner and after reviewing their menu, we went with the following: - Ganjajang Noodles x 3 - Spicy Ganjajang Noodles x 1 - Tangsuyook (L) x 1 Looks like the black bean sauce was premade and kept warm either in a rice warmer or food warmer as the sauce was lukewarm when it hit our table. The pork meat in the sauce was over cooked, hard to chew and very rough to eat. The sauce could also use some more lard to give it that "authentic" jajang taste, but overall it was decent, however I probably would not order this again if I revisited. Tangsuyook - fried perfectly, however I prefer my tansuyook made with starch and not frying powder. The sauce was decent, but if I do revisit, will have to try their spicy version to see how these two compare. Overall, decent place, got seated right away, service was bit slow as the place was busy.

The place has good food and good service overall ~ especially the sweet sour pork dish and black bean noodles are quite good

I went to Seoul Jangteo to try some Korean-Chinese food yesterday and the first thing I noticed was how busy it was inside the restaurant despite being less busy in other restaurants/around Allston. I was very hopeful since it was busy and the crowd eating was mostly Korean. I am not as familiar with Korean-Chinese cuisine but got the jajangmyeon and spicy tangsuyuk. The jajangmyeon was okay but I feel like it was lacking a lot of flavor (not totally sure though because I have not had it many times before). I did see another review before coming about how the pieces of pork were dry and tough and not flavorful and I would agree on that. They were also a bit lukewarm and I didn't know if it's normally served like that but I would prefer them much hotter. The tangsuyuk on the other hand was better, being incredibly hot and fresh out of the fryer/pan. I feel like the batter was on the heavier side but it was still decent. One thing I wish they would do is make a smaller size because the small is $28 and could easily feed 3-4 people. Overall, this place wasn't bad but I do not understand why flocks of people come to eat here. Maybe because it is one of the few places serving Korean-Chinese food but I personally think it was average at best. I wouldn't NOT recommend going here but I wouldn't tell someone to go out of their way to eat here.

I was on the hunt for a restaurant that had good jjajangmyeon to celebrate Black Day last week (cries), and my friend recommended me this spot, so I was excited to finally give it a try after passing by the area loads of times. So of course, my friends and I ordered the jjajangmyeon (we got 2 orders for the three of us), and we also had a small order of the tangsuyook. Everything was super delicious! The jjajangmyeon was so yummy, with well-cooked pork bites in the slightly-sweet sauce complementing the wonderfully-cooked noodles (and the veggies that lended great contrast to the dish in both flavour and texture). Tangsuyook was amazing as well - perfectly fried with a nice, crispy exterior and a juicy, flavourful interior. We also got the pan-fried dumplings: certainly fine but nothing too special, and I think a bit pricey for the amount. Portion sizes in general, though, are pretty large (and we actually got some of the noodles wrapped up to take with us), so it's definitely a good value for the price. I'm surprised I haven't even been here before, but I am looking forward to coming again soon!

Not my favorite Korean food, but fun atmosphere and decent enough. Has traditional dishes like bulgoki. The noodle dishes were not as good.

Tangsuyook (deep fried pork) was really tasty. So as the tofu stew, despite not being a tofu soup place. We also tried the japchae and kimchi pancake, which were good too. Overall good Korean food place, will go back and try more things. They also let you bring drinks in, which was great, cuz we were able to get some bubble tea to kill time when waiting for the seat and finish it when dining.

There aren't many choices to get the type of food they sell here and thankfully they do it well. Their service is prompt but not overbearing and food portions are great. I aways get their jjamppong and it hits the spot.

I came here 5-6 years ago and I remember although the food was amazing, there were not many people came here. Recently, I have seen lines and lines of people which urged me to check back in!!! The food was amazinggggggg!!!! We had the stone pot spicy pork dupbap which was the highlight!! That was the best!! The kimchi pancake was good!!! So is the spicy noodle!! I was not comfortable with how squished the place was!!! Coming with 2 people, we got a tiny table, and as you see, even when 2 out of the 3 courses came out, there wasn't that much place left, when the hot stone pot came, it was even tighter. But, I get in, we were in Boston, and the restaurant wanted to take advantage or every single spot available!!! I was not even 2 feet apart from the other party next to me!!! But that wasn't the main driver for me to take off a star even the food was super amazing!!! With such a tight space, the waiter decided to stand in the middle of the 2 tables to take order and talk to the table next to me. His butt was almost on my plate at one point!! I think people should think more about of the customers' dining experience and to be thoughtful and considerate!!! P/s: they do a thorough check on vaccination cards and ID!

No frills Korean food specializing in Korean soup and some dishes you would expect at a Korean restaurant. The hot pot is spicy and very hearty. Good value for the amount of food you get. Suggestion sharing with a small group but no worries if not because you can always take extra home for left overs.

We absolutely loved this place. We came at around 3:30 pm and were one of three tables seated which worked out perfectly. Service was friendly and very quick. We ordered the kimchi fried rice with pork, the spicy pork bulgogi and the hot stone pot beef bibimbap. All of the dishes were SO good. The perfect mix of spicy, umami and pickled flavors with fresh veggies, marinated meats and sunny side up eggs cooked to perfection. We thoroughly enjoyed our taste of Korean!

Seoul Jangteo is a cool spot for korean food! I remember coming here on several occasions and at times, it can be quite crowded (like Friday or weekend evenings). The food was pretty good! We ordered a small gganpung chicken and jjajang noodles. The jjajang noodles were a bit disappointing because it was not very flavorful. However, the chicken was amazing! They made the sauce particularly well with a good mix of sweet, sour, and heat. The restaurant ambience is cozy with the yellow lights and it is definitely a nice location for some comfort korean food!

I've been meaning to try this place for a while and finally got around to it! I had the Samsun jjambbong ($18), which has more seafood than the regular jjambbong. The portion size was huge. Noodles and soup were standard and good. My only gripe would be with the cooking of the seafood -- the squid was a bit overcooekd for my taste. There were two types of shrimp and the bigger ones were a bit overcooked. I appreciated that the mussels had the hairy part removed. I had this right after a trip to Korea where I had the best jjambbong in my life so this is probably not a fair comparison. I am pretty used to having rubbery/overcooked seafood in jjambbong, but I recently had the most amazing tender seafood jjamppong in Korea so I know it can be done, and will be chasing that for a while. Overall I would be open to trying more items from Seoul Jangteo -- it's certainly on par with the standard Korean Chinese food you can get in Korea. Huge portion sizes as well, so fairly good value for the area.

There aren't many spots in Boston that serve jajjangmyun so I'm glad they offer it here! I came for dinner with a party of 8 on a Saturday night and waited about 30 minutes before being seated, which I don't think was bad at all considering they were pretty busy at the time. The inside could've been better maintained; there were random pieces of newspaper on the floor in several spots. The food came out fairly quick which is always a plus. As for the food, I always have to get a seafood pancake when I go to a Korean restaurant that serves it. The seafood pancake was a decent size, crispy on the edges, and had a good amount of seafood. I also enjoyed the dipping sauce that was paired with it. Also had to get jajjangmyun and jjambong. They weren't the best I've had but decent. The jajjangmyun was a bit bland and one-profile in flavor. The jjambong had lots of seafood in it as well and the soup wasn't spicy but had just the right kick. The tofu soup was okay.. the tofu was broken up instead of being in chunks. Lastly, must get the tangsuyook (fried pork). It was very well fried and definitely had a different batter than what I was used to but I enjoyed it cause it was really crispy and the pork wasn't tough or overcooked. They also put the sauce on the side which helps keep the fried pork crispy but the sauce was just alright. We also got the cream shrimp which the cream sauce reminded me of walnut mayo shrimp that you'd get from a Chinese restaurant. I like walnut mayo shrimp so this was tasty. The shrimp was also very well fried and crispy on the outside! Being as there aren't many spots that serve these Korean-Chinese dishes, it's a pretty good spot. Definitely try their fried items!

Definitely had better Korean food in LA; but this was definitely one of my fav spots in Boston! Service was fast and portions were pretty big! Split between 4 people and we had a bit of leftovers (we're also quite big eaters too)! Banchan: only 3 options. Wasn't the biggest fan of the kimchi but the radish was yummy! Seafood pancake: 9/10; flavorful and yummy! Soy sauce vinegar paired well. Seafood Jjamppong: 10/10; we got the extra noodz and seafood! Super nice for a colder night! It hit the spot; not too spicy and there was a good ratio of noodles, seafood, vegetables, and soup. Soup was hearty! Pork Dupbap: 9/10; on the spicier side but was super yummy! Came in a stone pot that kept the pork nice and warm. Pork was a bit on the tougher side but the flavors were great! Japchae: 8/10; a bit salty for my taste but portions were huuuge and was delicious! Good amount of vegetables too!

My party of 5 got seated about 30 min after putting our names down on a busy Valentine's Saturday night. Servers made it apparent they were busy and were quick to walk away when we were just about to order. We shared the seafood scallion pancake, jjajangmyeon and fried pork with a side of a pineapple based gravy for dipping or pouring on top. Our friend got their bibimbap which he said he liked and barely made a visible dent. The pancake was more doughy than filled with seafood. Usually it is paired with a soy based sauce but instead was with a red pepper flake sauce, which tasted different. I found the jjajangmyeon pretty subpar in flavor and even texture. The main vegetable apparent was cabbage but I would have appreciated some potato and more prominent pieces of meat. The fried pork was probably my favorite dish since it was crispy and fatty, complemented by the sweet pineapple gravy on the side. But as expected, it was not nearly as good as leftovers. Overall, food quality was standard but not anything special. Their large portions seemed to make up for the lack of spark but is not enough for me to return.

I have come here many times and have had an enjoyable time eating here. Seoul Jangteo is one of my top places to eat nowadays, and they do a great job with most dishes. Normally, I enjoy getting their Jajang Noodle dishes as well as their Stir-fried Seafood Jambong Noodle, but I wanted to try something new this time. I decided to order the Stone pot Spicy Pork Dupbap, Gganpung Chicken, and Soft Tofu Stew with beef. The spicy pork dupbap was spicier than I expected, but it still tasted really good. There was a good ratio between meat, vegetables, rice, and sauce throughout this dish. The gganpung chicken is my favorite dish from this place. The sauce has just the right amount of flavor, and the batter tastes fluffy and crispy when it is freshly made. The soft tofu stew was probably the most disappointing dish. The tofu was all crumbled, and there were a bit too many onions and zucchini in the soup. The flavor was lacking compared to the soondubu I got from Kaju, but it was overall alright. While the food was amazing, the service could have been better. We had to constantly wave down a server to refill our water, get the check, etc. Besides that, I love coming here whenever I am craving good Korean food.
