I had one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences of my life at Serafina Seaport. My friends and I came here to celebrate our graduation from MIT, a once-in-a-lifetime moment, and to share one final meal together before our senior ball. We had made a reservation and arrived on time, excited to end our four years together on a special note.
Toward the end of dinner, we began giving toasts — heartfelt, emotional reflections on our journey together. It was an intimate, vulnerable, and deeply meaningful moment for all of us. Some of us were crying, some laughing through tears; it was one of those rare moments you remember forever.
But instead of respecting that, the wait staff interrupted us repeatedly. One waiter came to take plates while we were mid-speech, and I politely said we weren’t finished. Moments later, he returned again — and then again, this time with multiple others — to clear our table despite us clearly saying several times that we were still eating. It was incredibly disruptive and dismissive.
Their lack of awareness and empathy completely ruined what should have been a beautiful, unforgettable evening. We felt rushed, disrespected, and unwelcome, even though we had only been there for about an hour. I left feeling angry and heartbroken that such a special night was overshadowed by such poor service.
I would never recommend this restaurant. What should have been a cherished memory is now tainted by how carelessly we were treated.
