"Opening early this May at 11 Fan Pier Boulevard, the new Seaport outpost of Serafina will offer waterfront views, a large breezy patio, and a menu that stretches beyond the pizza and pasta the Back Bay location is known for. Taking over the former Babbo space, the 114-seat restaurant has undergone a full-blown facelift by Petra Hausberger, who drew on 1950s-era Italian Riviera inspiration with a palette of sand, pale green, rose, terracotta, and tan; floor-to-ceiling windows, Italian fashion photos and paintings, and two olive trees line the dining room. A separate pizza kitchen bangs out thin-crust pies at a 14-seat counter, while a sleek, gently lit 20-seat bar pours mostly Italian wines (including some rare wines by the glass via a Coravin system); beers range from Sam Adams and Harpoon to Maine Lunch, Cloud Candy, and Mighty Squirrel, and cocktails and mocktails include a tequila negroni and a zero-proof old-fashioned. Helmed by chef Hector Hernandez, the menu features rigatoni blanketed in rich, meaty bolognese; a tartufo nero pizza studded with black truffle, fontina, truffle cheese, and truffle oil; chicken Milanese; cioppino; and more, and the restaurant will be open daily for lunch and dinner with brunch on Saturdays and Sundays." - Stephanie Carter
