After about a dozen visits over the last few months, Sergio's of Pelham is one of my favorite restaurants in Westchester. The food is always fantastic and the service is incredibly warm and gracious.
There's a bar up front that has about 6 seats and a 2-seat hi-top, which is a great place to catch a few drinks and dinner if you're dining solo. The dining room feels warm and welcoming - great light (not too bright, not too dark), which is always important to me. It seems like almost every night someone is celebrating a birthday - you'll know because one of the staff will softly serenade the celebrant with a rendition of Happy Birthday on the trumpet. They also have private dining upstairs.
So many great dishes - love the Beef Carpaccio (one of the best I've had), eggplant rollatini, ravioli, veal martini with risotto, and my favorite - the Chilean Sea Bass, which they often have as a special. If you enjoy fish, this is not to be missed: a gentle salty sear on top and inside, paradoxically delicate and firm. They also offer a great bread basket.
Once you visit, you'll feel like family. Tony and Etnik, who I often see when I arrive, are gracious and thoughtful, as are the rest of the staff: Gevo, Tori, Sabrina, and more - everyone is so kind.
You cannot go wrong here. And as it turns out, if Portchester is closer to you, there's a "Sergio's Saw Pit" and a "Tutta Bella" on the Eastchester/Scarsdale border right off Post Rd. All owned by the same family and from what I have heard, all just as great.
