"Sergio’s feels disjointed—like the plot to the 2003 romantic comedy Gigli . The Coral Way Cuban spot has gastropub lighting, plays classical music, and, for some reason, has a low-calorie section of the menu called “La Flaca” with keto chicken ropa vieja-stuffed bell peppers. What once was a solid Cuban restaurant is now, sadly, a trend-chaser. The food is hit or miss too. The vaca frita is seasoned well, but it’s dense and dry. The croquetas are great though. And so is their seared half chicken—not our typical Cuban restaurant order, but we can’t deny it’s juicy and delicious. We’re as confused about Sergio’s as it is about its identity. But like how Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez walked away with something good from Gigli (money), you can do the same with Sergio’s (a very good elena ruz). " - Virginia Otazo

"Whether as a meal or snack, empanadas are a popular food item no matter the time of day. With a variety of flavors from traditional meat, chicken, and ham and cheese, to innovative ones such as vaca frita and carne with maduros, Sergio’s a plethora to choose from. Takeout, delivery, and outdoor seating is available." - Stacy A. Moya

Had an absolutely phenomenal time coming to this Sergio’s. I haven’t been to a Sergio’s in years and while it’s still steeped in the traditional foods you’d find at a Sergio’s, I love all the new things that they’re bringing out. They have menu items for those looking for a lower calorie meal, but still want the Cuban goodness that Sergio provides and they have new menu items like a truffle mushroom cheese burger, fried grouper bites & loaded nachos with plátano chips. I would ABSOLUTELY come back here again and I would also tell all my family and friends to go check out Sergio’s if they haven’t been in a while. Servers were great when they were around, service was a little slow and they did forget a couple of items, but were fast to correct when we notified them. Now this was the restaurant; we’ve been going to the bakery non stop for years and they have plenty of amazing and delicious things to offer as well.

The to go side is fast and efficient. The ladies are super nice. Decent food and drinks. People hanging out outside the door and smoking makes it unpleasant because it smells strongly of cigarette smoke outside and inside because of the big open window for ordering. My cafe con leche was a little more leche than cafe, but I think it's something I can make note of for next time. Also, the to go cup was super hot to the touch and I had to walk it back across the plaza. It was very uncomfortable to hold. Pastelito was delish. Will definitely be back to try again because of the friendly service.

Everything from the food to the service exceeded our expectations. The dishes were fresh, flavorful, and of excellent quality. The service was outstanding and attentive, it truly enhanced our experience. One of the highlights was the waitress robot, which brought back memories of my time in Japan. It added a fun and unique touch to the meal. Overall, a fantastic dining experience, and we'll definitely be back!

We are staying overnight in Miami for a friends flight in the morning. Our hotel front desk agent informed me of this restaurant down the road from our room. He told me about a dish named Vaca Frita which comes with two sides. I got the avocado and rice and beans. They bring a cuban bread to start with. The place is a short distance from the hotel so I gave it a try. Extremely satisfied with our service from Danay our server. She was very professional and courteous, she explained our questions about the menu. Very charming and patient with us and provided great service. We also ordered the half chicken with two sides that come with it, black beans and broccoli. Our other guest ordered the Masas De Puerco which comes with two sides as well, she got the Maduros (rice & black beans mix) and plantains. Our drinks were a margarita on ice with tanjin on the rim. I ordered the Lychee Martini which was so refreshing and delicious. Our meals were so large and totally delicious. We were able to bring some extras to have tomorrow. For dessert we had the flan and doce leeche which were light and scrumptious. Thanks for the superb service and marvelous meals. We have to return again when we our in town again.

Google
Took some out of town friends who wanted Cuban food. Definitely not the best place for good Cuban food but good enough for the out of towners who don’t know the difference. The food was ehhh, but doable. The long standing croqueta war is not won by Sergio’s as it was cold and mushy but it did have a good fight in the race, probably ranking second after Islas canarias. The vaca frita lacked flavor and the maduros were just bad. The robot that brought the food over is definitely worth checking out. The service was fast and friendly. Overall a good place to grab a quick meal.

I don’t usually do reviews, but in this case I had to make exceptions. I can’t this morning for breakfast, and was seated right away by my waitress Elizabeth. She proceeded to take my order and food arrived pretty quick. Elizabeth during her service she was constantly make sure i had everything I needed, from water to ketchup for my friends fries and she even asked what type of sugar I like with my coffee and the food was very tasty. She when above and beyond to make sure I had an excellent experience and I must say I did. I was pleasantly surprised for the quality of service I received, you don’t usually see this in a Latin restaurant. I will definitely be coming back…!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I went to Sergio's restaurant for dinner tonight and the food was really good and fresh. The service was better! There is great communication between the manager and the waitresses. Specifically I want to mention that the manager Damian Amantegui really goes out of his way to make sure the customers are happy. He's on top of things and handles any issues quickly and makes sure the customer is satisfied and will come back! I highly recommend this restaurant!

Yelp
Great Ambiance, service was amazing, the food was delicious, I personally loved the mix between Cuban and all the other options they have. Will keep on coming back for that Skinny breakfast.

Yelp
The was not good at on that day. My son ordered a beef empanada, they gave him something soft and sweet he couldn't even tell what it was, it had a bad after test. They need to improve on the food. The salad was old. Ambiance: there was none. It was Easter Day we should of known was saw that there was no one there. The server was excellent, great personality.

Yelp
Sergio's has been excruciatingly disappointing lately. Discouraging because they are probably one of the best locations to go to for delicious food at any time of day but it is so difficult to give a high rating when their customer service has been at its lowest failing point. The wait times are terrible so please don't come hungry. We were asked to wait until we had to eventually separate our group because we couldn't wait any longer after an hour wait. The food that came out was great but again, wish they would offer more seating arrangements or possibilities to wait elsewhere.

Yelp
Although I love the relaxed patio setting as I am waiting for a new tire to get installed the server was kind and helpful, the music is chill background and the perfect volume. I loved the Cuban bread, wine and black beans however their speciality the shredded steak was super over cooked and hard to chew so they brought me a less crispy version which was ok. But I would not recommend because it was still dry and hard to chew. The roasted vegetables were on a bread plate so when you try to cut them they all fall off the plate. They were also cold. And the black beans were flavorful but not piping hot which I prefer and they were more like soup and I had to fish out the few beans.

Yelp
Been to Sergio Restaurant many times and my review is a collective of most of my recent visits. I'd like to start by saying that on most of my visits was treated well and employees were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, menu hasn't changed much to show variety or change. Food quality is fair at best and not surprised this business has such low rating as food has been served cold. Hopefully they will improve there service, menu and food quality

Mingo M.

Yelp
Sergio's, man, it's like a Cuban coin flip. Some dishes? Boom, absolute fire. Lechón? Crispy skin, juicy pork, straight-up flavor in your mouth. But others, like "La Parrillada"? Meh I should have stuck to the classics, like masa de cerdo, or lechon asado, arroz y frijoles negro. One thing's for sure, though: the staff are top-notch. Luz, our waitress, was fast and friendly and got our order right the first time. The location is excellent, and a robot brings your food. It's cool to see it like it's out of the Jetson cartoon episode, which makes the restaurant "cool." If you're down for some Cuban roulette and have a Latin craving the size of Havana, give it a shot. Order the right thing, or you will end up with something that tastes like your abuela's chanclas after a rainy day.

Julianna S.

Yelp
Went to Sergio's with 3 adults and 6 kids on a Saturday late afternoon. We were sat down quickly, some delicious bread was brought to the table and waters. Menu has a wide variety of authentic Cuban food. Food was delicious, flavorful and filling. There was variety for all pallets. The kids loved the kids menu.

Nikki M.

Yelp
We had a pleasant dinner with the family at Sergio's. They have lots of delicious options to choose from. They also have a "Flaca" menu with lots of healthy options. My husband and I shared the parrillada which is like a Cuban version of what we are used to ordering from an Argentine restaurant. I ordered a coconut mojito and was absolutely delicious. Luz, our server, was very accommodating with all our requests. My step mom ordered a cauliflower pizza and it was delicious too because I tried it. We ordered the bread budding with the sauce on the side and the raisins tasted a lot like rum, yum! Everything is priced well but I highly recommend sticking to the Cuban classics on the menu! You can't go wrong!

Marilyn M.

Yelp
I will never step food in this Sergio's again. We sat near the kitchen and noticed that every single server put cheese in the crema de malanga soup with their bare hands. None of them used the spoon in the container to serve nor gloves. Absolutely disgusting. I do have a video as proof. If every server grabbed cheese with their bare hands that means it is a norm at the restaurant and the manager is aware of it. I keep thinking if I can see this just sitting a few feet away from the kitchen, imagine what I cannot see that goes on in the kitchen.

Susie S.

Yelp
Their food is always delicious and on point. Highly recommend this restaurant . I would go for breakfast, lunch or night anytime!!

Gabriella P.

Yelp
Amazing customer service my server was yanlay and she was very friendly I definitely recommend her and the food was amazing and well cooked

Theodore S.

Yelp
The food is good Cuban food. Lechon or palamillo steak, it's all good. The black beans need to be hotter when they arrive at the table. Wait staff is friendly and helpful. Depending on outdoor weather, indoor temperature may feel cool, just right, or a bit warm. Guess it depends on who is controlling the AC setting.

Katia P.

Yelp
Been going to Sergio's for many years, always love coming here for some croquettes and cafe con leche ! Never disappoints.

Maddiiee L.

Yelp
I gave a 4 star for the food but not so much the service 9 out of ten times I have gotten rude stuck up no pride in her job type of waitresses, which is why I let them know they were awful by their tip I left, once I left no tip that's how bad she was . She took my order and never came back never checked on me or nothing to see if I needed any thing, and not sure why because I am a very kind caring friendly person so she must have not cared about making money because at least with me, she did not make a dime, thankfully the food was great and I tend not to experiment much and stick to the plates I know they makes great and that I will love. Not crazy about their service but the food is good for what it is ( Latin cuisine ) the desert could use improving but are not bad they are edible enough .

Miriam N.

Yelp
Place is reliable and very busy during lunch time but service and food have declined noticeably.

Maria C.

Yelp
Food was yummy. The server asked how I wanted my eggs but not my steak so it was cooked more than I would have liked. The ambiance is nice the place is clean. As to the service, we sat down as soon as we came in but it took 15+ minutes before our server appeared. We only had water and she never came back to refill although our glasses were empty. Very personable server but one of those that hears what you say but doesn't acknowledge you when she hears so you don't really know if the communication was had. We frequent the Pembroke Pines location often. This one is in Kendal.

Nereida G.

Yelp
Our group of 16 ladies from Assumption Academy (high school) class of '75 decided to have a breakfast reunion at this Sergio's location. David (mgr), Adis (server), Israel (server) did an amazing job for our excited group. Israel set up tables in a most accommodating fashion in a perfect, outdoor spot considering the windy weather. ADIS was very organized & poised taking 16 different orders serving these hot & to the right guest, and offered to take pictures! We were not presented with the bill until we requested it. Sergio's Tamiami team definitely enhanced our reunion experience. Look out Sergio's, David, ADIS, Israel we will be back!

Yelp
Count your pastries in front of staff apparently because this morning I ordered multiple $64 worth of pastries and instead of 10 croquettes I received 8. I went back and told them the situation, it gets busy mistakes happen everyone is human. But upon handing me my two missing paid croquettes. Staff accuses me of lying to steal 2 extra croquettes after I just drove home, saw my family didnt have all the food they ordered and we PAID for & I had to drive all the way back to fix a little mistake. Extremely rude and egotistical staff to accuse a paying customer who's been coming for years about stealing 2 $2 dollar croquettes after driving back and forth. They need to do better customer service when they make a mistake DO NOT blame the paying customer and accuse them of lying and stealing.

Frank G.

Yelp
I love the food at Sergio's. The food is always tasty. A bit pricey but worth it. I never leave dissatisfied.

Kirra B.

Yelp
The best authentic Cuban food I have ever consumed!! This restaurant was recommended by the hotel front desk employee while my grandmother and I were staying in Miami for the weekend. We went to Dinner there BOTH nights AND breakfast on our departing day. The staff is amazing and they care about each customer that enters their door (that sometimes has a long line out of it!) Chicken Vaca Frita Tacos Ropa Vieja Malanga Fritas Pina colada Sangria (rojo)

Israel S.

Yelp
Great service , manager Lazaro excellent customer service approach, he makes it right every time

Monique L.

Yelp
How can you ever do wrong with one of Miami's most classic Cuban places? I needed a little pick me up, so I stopped by inside to pick up a yummy cafecito to go! Sergio's food is always delicious, staff is always nice, and portions are massive for the price which is always the best!

Steve R.

Yelp
Food was excellent !!! A little hidden gem as they say They don't have a lot of seating so be prepared to wait longer if you have a party larger than four.

Bianella D.

Yelp
Ordered a pollo a la plancha. Lunch menu. Picked it up only to open it at home and find 1 small onion on it. It comes with onions usually. The manager instead said " what do you want" the cook has no obligation to cook onions with this order and we ran out of raw onions. What kind of response is this? $17 for a lunch that's not what they sell in pictures .

Emma H.

Yelp
Every time I go to this Sergio's my opinion changes! Sometimes the service is great and the food is yummy, other times the service is awful and food is raw. Today the service was awful and pancakes were raw, the omelet was ok. Some of the workers seemed nice but other just completely ignored us when we asked for a service. I do not recommend this Sergio's!!!

Fernanda L.

Yelp
3 stars for review of food inside restaurant, because I give 5 stars to Sergio's empanadas and coladas, I find they are the best empanadas around and amazing cuban coffee. However, for dining not so much. Ordered a churrasco with rice and beans and fries, the churrasco came rolled on my plate, did not understand that concept. The meat was "rubbery" and the beans were bland. Asked for hot sauce and all they have now is Cholula in to go packets. When the bill came, $30.99 for the churrasco! (menu said MP so... hello inflation) Wish I had taken a picture of my plate but when I remembered it was too late and my half eaten plate was gone already. Will stick to La Ventanita for my empanadas and coffee from now on.

Gaby S.

Yelp
Ordered from Ubereats today and quality and sizing have gone way down. The beans were watered down. The arroz imperial had no flavor. The ropa vieja wasn't even filled half way, it was two spoon fulls for 15.99. Wont be back for a while

Rigoberto H.

Yelp
Great service and food. Denice always goes the extra mile to make sure that the table is well taken care of.

Sara D.

Yelp
It's the second time I come to this Locale. The first time was a business meeting type of lunch. I saw the Croqueta Pizza for the first time. Lol! This time, I came with family for lunch and were seated outdoors enjoying the warmth and breeze. Mariquitas to start, Materva, Coke Zero, and Club Soda for our drinks. Lechón flatbread is a Naam type of bread piled with rice, black bean humus, Lechón. We expected a thinner crustier bread. Choripán, no lettuce, but there was mayo... it changes the context of the sandwich. The chorizo came piled high on the bread with tomato and grilled onions. It was ok. I have not eaten a Choripán outside my house in years. This was not Chorizo cantimpalo. The Frita was good, no onions and with Cheese, came with French Fries. Dessert, Flan, it was good, not overly sweet. Cortadito

Kihara A.

Yelp
I actually just left this location after stopping for a quick bite before heading to the nearby hospital and I can't complain about anything. Everything was delicious and flavorful and I was seated and served in an extremely decent time.

Arcadio H.

Yelp
We went to eat at Sergio's yesterday night were completely disappointed. The moros were pitch dark, like shoe polish, do we went for their tasteless black beans, the worst I've ever had. The yuca was cold and my wife's chicken soup was very greasy n cold. I've been their regular customer for close to 50 years, but no more, they will not see me there ever again.

Suzette C.

Yelp
Had a very early breakfast after collecting donations and dropping off for distribution. Both hubby and I had the omelette (tortilla) with ham, potatoes, onions, with Cuban toast. Maybe it was the time of the morning 6:30 but both toast and omelette were a little overdone. We also both had a side of ham croquettes and I had a mamey batido which was great. Service was great and our server was so attentive.. I do recommend this place and do love their meals.

Amber R.

Yelp
I recommend the breakfast so good! Best cafe con leche & good service - I love sitting outside

Samantha J.

Yelp
Embarrassing and disappointing visit to this location. I appear to be a healthy person but suffer from seizures. My service dog alerts me before the seizures happen. The hostess did not allow me to be seated indoors claiming my dog was a emotional support animal. Despite having spoken to the manager and clarifying he was a service animal, they declined to seat me inside. Not wanting to create a scene and have to explain my Health issues to people that clearly do not know how to properly enforce the ADA rules I sat outside to avoid further embarrassment in front of my guest.

Ray C.

Yelp
Food is not great but not bad, however, the window service stinks in hygiene, they touch evreything with their hands , then, they touch the food.

Scott S.

Yelp
Good Cuban made fresh and delivered quickly by a robot. The people there are nice and some speak English!

Evita A.

Yelp
5 stars from food, ambiance and service! Came during breakfast time and got here early enough that our wait time wasn't too long for party of 7! As we sat down, people started coming in. Cute vibe inside and out! The cafecito with milk was served separately but our cups was a full cup of milk and then gave us coffee to pour into ours which I am not used to, normally would be the other way around but I was pleasantly surprised!!! They also had bread with butter on both sides which went very well with the coffee and then plantain chips with garlic mojo sauce and when I tell you this was just a garlic explosion in my mouth, believe me! I'll be buying mojo from now on! I had the south beach omelette, friends and husband got steak and eggs, steak sandwiches, eggs and pancakes for breakfast! All was really great! Our waitress was so nice and only spoke Spanish but that's ok. I def want to go back for lunch or dinner!

Martha M.

Yelp
Awful. We had the malanga soup and chicken croquetas as an appetizer and they tasted fine. For an entree we had the breaded chicken steak and it was beyond awful. The chicken was rubbery pressed composite chicken, not a real chicken breast. How disappointing that a restaurant like this is serving this awful thing. I will never go back. If that is their standard of quality, who knows what else you're eating!!! Yuk.

Omar S.

Yelp
This place is good for breakfast. Tonight's dinner was not good. A whole side of the restaurant was closed, no for renovations but for their employees' laziness. Wine is a rip off, a CK Mondavi that costs $ 5.00 at the supermarket they sell it for $ 30.00. We we order a salad our first waiter tried to deceive us asking "what protein do you want in the salad?", like the meat is included, which is not, they charge $ 6.00 extra. Food was good.

Shamroz A.

Yelp
I don't know where to begin. This was my first and last time eating here. The waiter couldn't speak English and she thought don't speak. Helllooooo..... you're in the USA, people speak other languages besides Spanish. At least speak and understand English enough to properly serve people. And if you can't, then only serve people who speak Spanish or get help from other waiters. She was the worst waitress ever and she discriminates if you don't speak Spanish. She didn't even serve the bread and I realized that when I saw other waiters were bringing bread to others tables. The food tastes like fast food or worse. The restaurant was almost empty and there were so many employees standing and talking. Wondering, how is this place still open.

Cristian C.

Yelp
Staff is horrible, food is okay but not cooked good. Seating is not good. Have robots working here taking a long time and don't even serve you at the end.

Mary H.

Yelp
This place was recommended to me from a local man we met on our tour at Everglades and from our hotel desk agent so we decided to give it a try. We all had the Cuban sandwich and churros/chocolate for desert. The sandwiches were great- soft yet crunchy Cuban bread and tasty meat / cheese. Our server was polite and attentive. The place was packed so you know the food is good!

Isabel C.

Yelp
Could be better, the meat wasn't fully cooked on my order and the service needs to get fixed asap!! Regular ambiance.... Maybe next time I'll just order

Osiris F.

Yelp
Decided to eat here this morning but not sure if I'd come back for breakfast. I ordered a bistec a caballo, but they steak was hard and it didn't have flavor. Overall, it was ok.

Alex M.

Yelp
We now make this a special treat when we come into town. Affordable, great staff, and amazing food. Can't wait to come back!

Anais F.

Yelp
So disappointed. It's difficult to understand how such a big corporation of a restaurant and popular name in the Latin America industry can lose the sense of keeping popular cuban restaurants alive. I ordered breakfast today from Sergio's through uber eats. Within my order we're a few cheese tequeños that we're all completely raw in the inside. This is not the first time I experience this at this location. This would be the 3rd time. Additionally, You can tell that the tequeños are not made completely authentic. It's basically cheap dough and they place cheese sticks in the middle, roll it up and bake it. At the same time you would think that by choosing the fastest way to bake tequeños that at-least they would get the baking temperature correctly. I won't be coming here for a while. Sergio's needs to step it up and take another look at who ever they got in charge in that kitchen. A customer can get extremely sick just by eating raw dough. Two things can happen. A customer gets extremely sick to the point to try to sue the restaurant chain OR a very cruel person that are out to get people and call the county and send the department of health and sanitation. I'm only here to let you know that's it's been 3x we order from this Sergio's and the food is raw. Best of luck, and I really hope you take my comment into consideration.

Alejandro R.

Yelp
I've been coming to this Sergio's for years but recently it has gone down in quality and service. The manager is horrible they run out of food and supplies constantly. The manager demeanor is definitely not customer oriented and now the servers, who are the people who make it worth coming they have been firing them. They even been taking their tips and holding on to and sharing it with the people in the kitchen. I think they are well over due for new management and treat their employees better because they are the ones that make your business

Fernando P.

Yelp
They cook with no seasoning, the rice with no salt the black beans tasteless and you want some Empanadas .....good luck... if they have leftover from before because they won't make you what you like ... lacy... the miami sandwiches not good like before and with fake bacon.. So if you like Cuban Food without the Cuban seasoning then that's the place for you...

Astrida M.

Yelp
If you love authentic Cuban food. Then this is the place to go to.. We had a really good experience at Sergio's! We heard about the Vaca Frita so we decided to try that and it was delicious! The service was great. We added a Passion Fruit Mojito, which was also so good! Easy parking and we will go back!

Javier S.

Yelp
Love my empanizado a la milanesa it was especially great today.... The servers are always rude but it's almost expected at this point.... Oh well as long as the food is good I'll keep coming back
