Sesame Donuts

Donuts are always fresh and the staff is friendly. They have a variety of classic and fancy donuts that are always fun as well as rotating specials. They also have halal beef bacon and sausage breakfast sandwiches with egg and cheese on a bagel or croissant. My favorite items are the old fashioned donuts and the jalapeño cream cheese croissant.

We love Sesame Donuts! The guy at the counter (I didn't get his name) was super patient, as we didn't go in knowing what we wanted. He didn't rush us, he just paid attention and waited for us to pick our dozen donuts. They were fresh and delicious!

Consistently great donuts and service, the ambiance is humble. No seating, so be aware of that. My favorite is the sesame encrusted cake donut. It’s crunchy on the outside and perfectly soft on the inside.

We're always on the lookout for gluten free donut places. Sesame Donuts has a variety. Donuts are $1.99 USD (classic), $2.79 USD (fancy), fritters/rolls/claws ($3.99 USD) and gluten free ($2.50 USD). - 6x Gluten free donuts ($12.95 USD) - two chocolate, maple, strawberry, vanilla and plain. Texture was similar to a light, moist cake. Can't tell that they're GF. - Blueberry fritter ($3.99 USD) - massive. Good blueberry flavour and fresh. Even lasted several days and didn't get hard. - Raspberry jelly ($1.99 USD) - decent filling but not as memorable as their other donuts. Will be back for more SD donuts.

Was heading out to Sandy for Oregons best doughnut shop only to find out they're minutes away from closing. Disappointed, kids and I found out about Sesame Doughnuts online and drove there. Easy to find and with a good selection of doughnuts! Got two dozen variety doughnuts plus a free one, really nice lady. Went home, tried doughnuts... WOW! Really good 👍! Better doughnuts than the other places in town, really. The custard filled coconut one is my favorite. Tasted similar to another custard filled coconut doughnut that was the crowned jewel of this grocery store in Beaverton (long gone out of business)! This one doughnut brought back memorable moments gone by over the years. Yes! Definitely getting more doughnuts from this place.

It's just a local, good donut shop. Nothing too fancy. Had the blueberry fritter, blueberry cake, strawberry frosted, lemon filled, maple bar, and glazed. The owners are really nice and you can meet them. Clean. Brew coffee is ok. Maybe better if you got a latte.

I am on a road trip to visit clients and I found Sesame Donuts and went in to buy 2 dozen donuts.... The man who got me the donuts was pretty helpful and nice and got me a good mix of donuts for my customer. The place was really clean and nicely laid out. I'm not sure what happened to my pictures inside and off donuts?!?!?!?! LOL

Don't believe the hype, Voodoo is for tourists. If you want the best doughnuts in Portland, Sesame is the place to go. Unbelievable season al varieties, delicious raised, filled, and cake style doughnuts of every variety you can imagine. This business is family owned and provide the friendliest and most knowledgeable customer service. We love Hassan!

The sesame donuts are (still, I guess I forgot) the only reason to go to Sesame donuts. Everything else was a little bland and a little old. We had sesame, raised glazed, coconut, apple fritters, old fashioned, and chocolate glazed old fashioned. I enjoy the sesame because it balances so nicely with the sweetness. Wish the seeds were toastier, though.

The food was great the server was spot on. I live down the street. First time I went was last Thursday. Clean and professional. I will be back

My place for "Bring donuts to work day". I think the donuts they make are a little sturdier than Krispy Kreme. More dense, I believe. The assortment runs low later in the evening. So, get there early enough. Haven't tried coffee or anything else, but dozen donuts. Which come to about $20. A better assortment, I think, than their competition.

Sesame donuts is a gem, I went in last Saturday afternoon no sesame donuts they run out of those quickly and all the time it was 3:30 in the afternoon. Plenty of donuts to choose from and my daughter and chose almost one of each if you like jelly filling this is heaven for you, can't explain it...try them. I a chocolate nut and I'LL BE BACK!!

Donuts are alright but I was charged $70 for 3 dozen classic donuts. According to the prices on the menu, I should have paid around $56. I was shocked at the price but in a hurry and didn't double check so that's on me but won't be returning.

I've had Sesame Donuts before but never a Breakfast Sandwich... I highly do not recommend. The sandwich alone was $6.49. I ordered a coffee and 1/2 a dozen donuts. The only thing that was enjoyable was the Caramel Macchiato. The donuts were slightly dry and just disappointing like the breakfast sandwich. Photo says it all about the sandwich. Will I return, no!

This is a solid and reliable choice for donuts in my area. Funny thing to Like, but they have separate entrance and exit doors, each push to open, which is good for sanitation AND opening a door with arms full of donut boxes! They have rotating daily donuts. So, while I have favorites (powdered sugar Bavarian cream!) I always have temptation to try something new. Today, I tried a chocolate covered raspberry filled donut and an apple spice. I also gave a look at a pumpkin spice, which could be amazingly moist, if done right. I have tried 2 other donut ships in my area and this is the only one I return to. They are not brilliant, but they are reliable, good, and worth the time and carbs. Also, seriously, try the sesame donuts. They are surprisingly good and worth going in to try at least once!

Best Donuts in town!! Variety, taste, quality, freshness - I'm eating one now!! This has always been my favorite donut place in the Metro area. Employees- WOW - always the best; friendly, helpful, prompt, and usually throw in a little something extra.

Sesame Donuts on Powell Blvd is terrific . The donuts are always fresh and tasty. The staff at the store is always positive and helpful. Always throw in free extras on my visits. Best place in town for a box of fresh donuts or donut holes!.

Found myself in this quiet area of Portland and saw this donut place. Donuts were reasonably priced and delicious. Owner was very sweet and if I'm ever back in this area I'll return!

We come here often to get gluten free donuts for my kids, and the man who works there is so nice! The last time I came in, the woman who works there was so rude she made me cry, and I've worked good service. She asked me "What do you want?" and I told her 6 gluten free donuts please. She then started going to the back, and I asked her if I could tell her what kind, and she grunted at me. 3 chocolate, 3 vanilla (equal amounts to each kid in peril of my life ;). I then paid and waited. She came out and gave me the box and I walked out to the car. As soon as I opened the box, I realized she gave me 5 chocolate, 1 vanilla. I went back and asked if I could get my right order, and she told me that was what I ordered. I said lightly to her that would get me in big trouble with my kids. I asked if I could get one vanilla and one chocolate and get a refund for the others, and she yelled no refunds! She then grabbed the box from me and went to the back. I called that I still wanted the two that were correct. She said nothing. There was just slamming around in the back. I promised my kids donuts as a reward and now it didn't seem like I was getting any that I paid for. The other person told me finally they could refrost them, which is great. But I had already been yelled at multiple times and treated like garbage in front of my kids. I'm afraid to ever go back.

Sesame is a consistently great donut shop. They're my go-to when I have company in town and need a box of breakfast snacks. They have all the classic donuts and a lot more. They've even made me a Bavarian crème on the fly when they had run out. Service is always very pleasant and friendly. They also have sandwiches and bagels, though we haven't tried those. The only downside is I don't think they have vegan options, which is surprising since it's Portland!

The lady that runs this place has no patience ever, she's always rude, never going here again. Used to be regulars but today after we bought donuts, went outside to the car to change my baby's diaper (that was barely wet) went back in to throw away the diaper and donut trash and she forced me to dig in the trash after I did my older brother said absolutely not, went back inside to throw it away. She took my trash out the bin, chased us out and threw it next to us while yelling at me and my family. Was it ever that serious ? Find any other donut place in portland there's better !

First and foremost, the donuts and service are great. But this review is about the upstanding employee and human that I saw going absolutely above and beyond his job role. So I went to get some donuts, and the store employee I recognized was out in the parking lot, says good morning to me. I jokingly asked if he was working the parking lot now - confusing to see him out there... No, he was watching this car... with a toddler strapped in the back. Running. With the doors locked. Oh, and the toddler has a brother who is five, who is also just hanging out in the parking lot. So this employee saw a mom (who probably was panicking in this situation) have her car lock with the keys inside and her and a 5 year old outside.... He offered her HIS car keys to go home and get her spare while HE watched the car and her kids. I don't know how or why I didn't cry, hug or high five this dude. Nicest random act of kindness I have seen in a long damned time. Thank you for being awesome.

We've seen the sign by the register advertising "Party Donuts" for years now, and we finally ordered one for our kiddo's birthday. This morning we picked up the very biggest donut I've ever seen. It was exactly what my kid wanted--maple frosting & rainbow sprinkles--and delicious. If you have a donut-loving kid (or grown-up!) in your life, you should probably get a party donut to celebrate.

I've been coming in once a week for about a year now. Hassan always provides great customer service and the donuts are good too. Recommend to anyone looking for a solid neighborhood donut shop.

Very happy with Sesame Doughnuts! They are always super friendly and get me in and out in my way into work. I like to stop by during my morning commute to grab some snacks for the office. I like their doughnuts quite a lot. Haven't found a doughnut that they sell so far that I haven't liked. I generally go for an assortment of classic doughnuts. They do have some fancy doughnuts and some others that aren't as common. Like today, they had these cinnamon doughnuts that were the size of a frisbee and looked absolutely delicious. Those and the bear claws! Sesame instantly became my go to doughnut spot so I suggest giving it a try!

Sesame Donuts hits the trifecta: Friendly service, delicious product, and reasonable prices! We were intrigued by the birthday donut and we're not disappointed! This bad boy is 18".

OMG!! I have been on a donut kick lately and a donut snob. So trying a new place can be disappointing but I did not have that experience here at ALL!! I ask to buy one donut to try before I commit to buy a few dozen for my staff at work and for my family. The owners were so nice and helpful on telling me all the different kinds of donut they have. Then tells me the donut he gave me was just made 20 mins ago. I took that first bite of the glazed donut and goodness I was blown away! It reminded me of Dunkin' Donuts as a kid. Highly recommend their donuts and definitely found our NEW donut spot!!

Best donuts in town, by far! Nothing fancy (go to Voodoo for that). Just reliably GREAT standards and a few specials. Especially love the Apple fritters (tasty and not oily) and the toasted coconuts.

Amazing donuts and a very friendly group of employees! The donuts must be baked fresh every morning because every donut I have had was so incredibly soft. A much better deal than Blu*. Support this local BIPOC owned business!

Business hours listed as closing at 8pm. I'm here at 7:30. Closed. I'm so freaking tired of businesses, like this one, being unreliable. Another customer lost.

So stoked to see this open up near our neighborhood! I've been enjoying their donuts at the other locations for a while now. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the donuts were fresh and delicious. Will definitely be a go to spot for me!

Love the plain sugar coated donuts! They have a sort of buttery glaze flavor. The plain donut cost $1.59. It is $0.59 more than what you can get at Safeway and Fred Meyers for $1 but twice as good. You'd have to pay double to get a donut at bluestar, but its not twice as good as blue star.

Their chocolate raised donut is one of the best we've had. The staff are so friendly and offer recommendations, which has helped us try a wide selection of donuts. It's always been quick to get in and out. Definitely try it if you haven't!

Great and friendly service! We got a dozen of doughnuts that included raspberry filled, lemon filled, Boston cream, apple fritter, blueberry, original, chocolate cake, and a couple of doughnut holes. There's a variety of doughnuts to choose from. The only downside was that we went around 7pm to grab a dozen of doughnuts and I noticed that a couple of the doughnuts were stale or hard when we bit into them. Other than that, I will have to come back at another time to try the other flavors!

Ours 1st time visiting Sesame Donuts on 4102 SE Powell Blvd since the old Baskin Robbins ice creams place is gone, replaced by Sesames Donuts, there is a menu on the wall shown the price of each kind of donuts, but there is a lot different of donuts with label, but no cost shown on label, it would be nice to have price next the name of donuts, so customer would be able to pick the donuts, customer doesn't feel like holding the line while asking the donuts price, I heard an employee said she hate people come in the store and take long to decide what they want.

Finally, a Sesame Donuts east of the river! After living on the East Coast, moving back to Portland left me suffering from Dunkin withdrawals. Enter Sesame Donuts, which seems like a Dunkin clone, except the donuts are better made and even more delicious. This is a donut town, and Sesame is refreshingly unpretentious. If you feel like going all-in on sweetness, the vanilla cream is the stuff dreams are made of, and I also really love the Devil's Glaze. The store is super clean, staff is fun and friendly, and parking is easy. Soooo glad this is in the neighborhood!

Aside from all their donuts tasting amazing, the kind woman behind the counter after I told her the last time I was in they had this caramel apple pie donut and it was flippin amazing, asked me and my wife if we had time to wait that she would make a batch...Of course we didn't have time, just the fact that she was willing too was outstanding.
