"Setaara doesn’t look like much from the outside, but inside is a tropical oasis that borders on overstimulating (in the best way possible). Filled with lush plants, lots of colorful, souk-style furniture, and birds singing along to French brassiere-esque music, the courtyard’s focal point is a giant, sparkling model of the Eiffel Tower. It might all seem a bit much, but the food will win you over. The warm bolani is served with a bright and spicy jalapeño chutney, and the lamb shanks fall apart with a nudge of your fork and come with mounds of flavorful rice. Don’t skip an order of the mantu beef dumplings, which are drizzled with a creamy yogurt sauce you’ll want to lick off the plate. " - anne cruz

"Even if you’re not raging until the sun comes up, you should still eat a real meal before your night out. Head to Setaara, an Afghan-French BYOB spot with loud, colorful decor that matches AC’s energy without being too chaotic or overstimulating. After you walk through the grand double doors, you’ll scooch past the galley kitchen and enter the backyard oasis where a miniature Eiffel Tower glitters and birds serenade diners. Bring a few bottles of wine and start with an order of warm bolani for the table, which comes with a bright and spicy chutney. While the menu is full of winners, the lamb shank and rice will give you enough energy to power through staying up late, especially if your normal routine involves going to bed at 9pm." - anne cruz

From the moment you walk through beautiful architectural doorway to the moment you meet the greeters ,servers ,and take in the atmosphere you can tell you are about to experience a unique dining adventure . I had the “tasting tour “ which offers a four course meal for $69 . My servers was Heaveen and she did a wonderful job for her first day of work, her first table and for me my first visit. I was very impressed with the courtyard decor and the cleanliness and the attention to details. My food was fresh , my tomato soup creamy and my chicken Kabob cooked to perfection . The pistachio baklava, chocolate mousse and fresh mint leaf tea was the perfect ending . The portion sizes were just right allowing me to enjoy all four courses . I dined alone this evening , but it would be an excellent place to meet family & friends , or impress a date .

The food was okay, the service was pretty bad, especially the lady at the reception was kind of rude and expected us to stand in the hallway and look at the menu to decide whether we are okay with the tasting menu or not. There is no harm in being hospitable and allowing your guests to sit and then coming up to their table to explain how everything works. The decor is very beautiful but unfortunately the place looks very cramped and dark. The two outside tables allow a little more breathing. The kind man playing piano is great, just the volume of it caused us headaches. We would have preferred to just hear the little water fountain that’s also located there. The canaries look miserable and kept in dirty cages with no room to fly around. I wish I could have rescued them from there. The appetizers were alright. The soup was not edible for our taste. The entrees were good, we enjoyed them. The desert was alright. Service at the table was alright as well. Nothing outstanding overall and average food in beautiful decor but depressing atmosphere and service that needs a lot of improvement. Would not recommend or go again.

The place is beautiful and uniquely decorated. While seated in a beautiful setting, we all found it very uncomfortable as the seats were very hard & low and the table was high. Bench seating on one side and chairs on the other. We had the unfortunate spot of the bench. And there was an awful stench in our area which wasn't from the wonderful aromas of the kitchen. Now the best part of the evening.... The food was absolutely hands down... delicious! Salmon was perfectly prepared and presented exquisitely well! One of the best tastiest experiences by far! Raves on the lamb chops as it was seasoned so well. We had many apps and all were tasty! Loved the serving & drink ware, all were unique. The prices are high but we would definitely return. Must mention the service...excellent!

My second time visiting this restaurant and it is one of my favorites when in Atlantic City. A reservation is required and it is a BYOB. Try everything on the menu, you won't regret it.

Excellent food and ambience. We have tried multiple restaurants in US, but so far probably one of the best and easily comparable to good restaurant from Toronto. Try it if you are heading to Atlantic city.

I love this place! This was our first experience here and it will definitely not be our last! The atmosphere is adorable! It’s very intimate…the restaurant is small, but gives you enough room to not feel smothered. The place is beautifully decorated. The waiter was very informative and gave us great suggestions for dinner. We went as an early new year’s celebration. Everything from the bread, soup, appetizers, and dinners were delicious! Very fresh ingredients, food came out hot, and was very flavorful. They have separate waiters walking around at all times to meet any needs you have. Everyone had a pleasant attitude and was very welcoming and not to mention there was live music. Lovely place and definitely worth the price tag!

It is a French Afghan restaurant. This place is absolutely gorgeous. It is beautiful with a very unique and varied interior for dining. I had a private little room and loved it. The food was absolutely delicious. The portions are large. Even the tea is absolutely over the top. You are welcomed upon arrival. The staff is wonderful and go out of their way to make your dining experience perfect and memorable. My waitress Rachel really went out of her way to make sure that everything was to my liking. I am glad they participated in AC Restaurant Week. Thank you for that. I loved the escargot, the Mantu ,and cardamom tea and house vanilla ice cream with cardamom. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.
