Sevananda Natural Foods Market - Review - Little Five Points - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"What image comes to mind when you think of vegan fast food?  It should be Sevananda’s hot food bar. The vegan-friendly co-op market has been a staple in the Little Five Points community since the ’70s, so locals know the treasure they have in this tiny hot bar near the back of the store. They serve breakfast everyday and rotate their well-seasoned daily lunch selections based on cuisine themes like African, Italian, Mexican, and Caribbean. Tell the attendant to hook you up with one of their famous spelt biscuits, and you’ll never think of a boring salad at the mention of a quick, vegan meal again. photo credit: Amy Sinclair" - Nina Reeder

Google
Absolutely love this herbal store! They have an amazing selection of dry herbs, and it’s super easy to find what you need since everything is listed in alphabetical order. The prices are very affordable, which makes stocking up on your favorites simple and stress-free. Not only do they offer herbs, but they also carry a wide variety of natural products that can support practically any need—whether you’re on a holistic healing journey or just living a natural lifestyle. The quality and organization of this store make it a must-visit. Highly recommend checking them out!

Google
In little five points across from vortex and savage Pizza. Surprised by the size of this healthy food store. On entrance, I saw many things I liked so I grabbed a cart and knew I was going to be filling it. Got many great vegetables at good prices and the dry goods have great ingredients. The hot bar had veggies and bread so I tried it. The beans and bread were tasty. At $9.99 a pound it seemed a bit expensive for the portion size. Largest herbal section I’ve seen, I’m sure they are curing diseases. Adequate free parking but the parking lot a little tight plus the turn in is narrow and the traffic is impatient. Purchased some jewelry from the guy at the front entrance, nice guy-he has some cool stuff. The Zolene snacks were disgusting. Watermelons were too expensive here. Some Other veggies discounted-great. Associate seemed very eager to help and they were nice, which made me feel comfortable. They have a cool membership that will save you extra money. I can see myself coming back to this place especially for the herbs and of course for the vegetables. if I can find some of those other items closer to my home then I may not rush back here for those, but I highly recommend this place for you. I didn’t see any meat, I may have missed it, but I don’t think there’s any so if you need meat you’ll have to go to a different grocery store.

Google
So I am a frequent shopper at Sevenada because I believe in supporting black businesses but the past three times I have shopped there in the evening I was always treated unfairly by someone I'm assuming is a manager or cashier. I'm not sure but as long as she's working there I will discontinue to shop there Shania has always made my shopping experience there the last three times very negative. On top of the fact that she didn't even bother to look for an item that I had put on hold for me that I found myself, you couldn't pay me for shopping in that store again!

Google
Chris was amazing very nice and knowledgeable on the store. Taught me the store is own by the community and completely vegetarian super awesome store. The healthiest options you can find not typical in grocery stores very exciting shopping in here with amazing customer service and care. It’s like going to your mothers house!

Google
Small store but lots of healthy options. Prices are high but good value. Several vegan options. The hot bar is my favorite part! I got the vegan shrimp and it is DELICIOUS!! I should have ordered more! I will definitely be back more often. The spelt biscuits are perfect as well.

Google
Sevananda is a place that me and my family go to anytime we are in Atlanta plenty of selection very clean the staff is very helpful and have a wealth of knowledge if you’re looking for alternative healing methods. They have a wide variety of medicinal herbs and alternatives that you can use for living a chemical free natural life.

My experiece

Google
This store has practically everything you could think of. So much to choose from. The employees were very helpful and kind. The environment was comfortable. There is also a restaurant inside the store. The vegetables and fruit looked very appealing. I look forward to my next visit

Yelp
One stop shop for all things wellness! (CoOp health foods store) The moment you walk in, you want to spend your whole paycheck! It's always good music playing and friendly workers inside. You can get herbs, groceries, the works. Now let's talk about this breakfast buffet (pay by weight). This breakfastis sogood!!! Everything is vegan. Listen the stars of the show are the sautéed kale and that spelt biscuit with the jam and butter! The chickpeas and potatoes are good too! I could eat it DAILY! The kale is definitely on the spicy side for the spice haters lol but I love it! *cleanliness is amazing. Gloves and hand sanitizer required before you self serve from the buffet

Yelp
Do they provide ready-made or prepared meals that cater to specific dietary preferences, like vegan or gluten-free?
google avatar

Yelp
I love this store so much. I catch Marta from Clayton County just to go. I like that they have Tassilis raw kale wraps on Wenesdays too.

Liz P.

Yelp
There's crunchy health food stores and then there's gross stores. This one is gross. The bathroom is in disrepair. Where do the people working there preparing your food wash there hands. The whole place is just bad and in need of updating.

Yelp
I love everything about this place from the food choices to excellent customer service to the clean and well stocked store. The hot bar is excellent and caters to a healthy lifestyle! The parking is not as bad as the reviews stated. I always find a spot with no problem. Oh, their health and beauty products are awesome! SHAQ helped me find the product I needed for blood pressure management and all the vitamins, tea I needed.

Yelp
One of the few places in Atlanta that carry Superior Crack Smoked Sea Salt and it is delicious. I grab two bottles cause it's the only salt I use. I hope they start carrying Superior Crack Blackish Pepper. The products they carry are mostly local and exclusive, very similar to that of Trader Joe's but better. I love it here.

Yelp
Love this store, just wish parking weren't such an absolute nightmare. There are not enough spots for the store and it makes getting in and out really tough, plus the parking lot employees yell at you and are generally unfriendly. I have always wondered why the empty, fenced-off section in the back isn't opened up to help with this. Once you get into the store, though, it's great--really impressive selection of healthier and natural foods, and really high-quality dairy products. Amazing as long as you can walk there

Anthony M.

Yelp
Knowledgeable staff, great products, and friendly service. The store is also conveniently located with adequate parking.

Yelp
My vegan friends and non-vegan friends, do not sleep on Sevananda's hot bar. It is so delicious.... from the meaty ( really taste like meat) mushroom dishes, but truly are mushrooms, to the spicy turnip greens, vegan spaghetti, Beyond meatball marinara soup... it's all delish and healthy. Ohhh and the vegan Mac n cheese... c'mon. I also buy my loose leaf, root teas and turmeric soaps there. Please patronize this establishment.. I've been going for years. Great conversation, service and knowledgeable employees.

Yelp
I use to shop here during my college days & now that I'm back in town for a while I have returned more frequently. In addition to the grocery aspect, there's a Hot Bar & Wellness Department that is expansive. The kitchen is vegetarian as everything is prepared naturally & free from artificial ingredients - many items are vegan or gluten-free. The Salad Bar is still closed due to C-19 - Grab & Go is available. There are pet supplies as well. Most of my favorite go-to items have a slight price increase than usual, yet I don't mind due to the community market vibrations. On my last visit to shop for holiday dinner, I joined the Co-Op initiative, I got 5 shares for $120. Applauding for their mission to source products = food integrity. A wonderful co-op with family-like service.

The Peezy's ..

Yelp
This store screams " LET ME GET MY HEALTH TOGETHER " as soon as you walk in. Shopping at your typical stores like the Walmarts, Publix, your Food Depot 's etc. you instantly feel as your lifestyle has went from not caring about what you consume to reading the label on everything you pick up. Originally window shopping for a particular vitamin we ended up racking up on a few groceries, journey candles, assorted nuts, snacks, and good ole water. In their ( I guess you can call it ) pharmacy section we stumbled across a bunch of natural oils designed for a plethora of different focuses for moods, energy, and various other uses like proteins ( like b12 etc ). Incense game was marvelous as they offered an entire rack of scents to accommodate your spiritual and relaxing needs. For all the at home chefs out there they have all types of different seasons some that can't be found in regular shopping centers. The produce was extremely fresh ( not like the bad batches you match catch at a Walmart ) with vibrant colors which made us gravitate to purchase some! All in all 5 out of 5! Will be returning soon!!!!!

Yelp
In town visiting my friend, so I suggested a trip to Sevananda to pick up some loose herbs and powders to make capsules. The young black man that "works" in the loose bulk herb/supplement/body product area was extremely rude and busy schmoozing and flirting with a young girl that he literally became upset that I BOTHERED him with my questions. I buy herbs regularly back home and I've NEVER experienced such horrible customer service like I did at this place. I felt like I was at Walmart, which I try my best to avoid... He absolutely should NOT work in that area with such an ugly disposition. I'll give Sevananda an extra star for having many herbs/powders that I cannot find back home.

Yelp
I looooooove this place! Best co-op grocer that I have ever visited. The vegan hot food there is so delicious and I never come out spending more than $40 for good organic and vegan foods. Now the customer service there is always on point. Whatever information I need they are ready and available to deliver. Daniel at the cash register is always friendly and kind. Jesse (I hope I.got his name right) was very helpful in getting my alkaline water for me. The store is small but has a diverse selection of organic foods. Just about everytime I visit, it seen to find something new I want to try. The prices are reasonable to me for organic foods, not much different than Whole Foods or Sprouts. Now the only issue I have is the parking lot. It is very small and can be tricky in getting a parking space. So I normally go at different times when I know they are kind of slow. If you haven't tried them then you are truly missing out.

Yelp
TOP QUALITY HERE ! My wife and I were on a short vacation in Atlanta, GA not long back. We happened to spot this supermarket while we were in the eclectic Little Five Points area looking at the tourist shops. It certainly had great choice & quality beyond our expectations. We picked up some very nice tasting bread, cereal and a few other staples to take back to our condo in downtown Atlanta. HARD TO BEAT !

Yelp
With this virus going around and health gurus encouraging people to build their immune systems, I've found myself coming here a lot more often. They have it all. Their vitamin section is top notch. Looking for black seed oil, oregano oil or elderberry syrup? They have it. Need some ingredients for a tonic? They carry that too. And the employees are welcoming and helpful.

Yelp
Amazing natural food options and all things ethically designed for the home options...great vibe and people are friendly

Yelp
Pre-made dessert VEGAN review: My brother and I stopped by one evening in search of vegan desserts. It was one of *those* days and something sweet was needed. We looked through the ice cream section, but we didn't find any small cartons of ice cream, so we decided to see what they were selling in the bakery. They had vegan sweets galore, even though it was close to closing time. We were deciding between the vegan and gluten free sweet potato bread and brownie bites. Other options were a key lime pie and another type of squash pie (I can't quite remember what type of squash). We ended up going with the sweet potato bread... and OMG I am so glad we did. It was really delicious. Sweet, but not too sweet, the bread was speckled with raisins and had a comforting cinnamon and nutmeg flavor. I really enjoyed eating it. It was slightly pricey at almost $6, but it was a good portion size and so yummy. After eating that, I've got to come back and try their other desserts! We did run into an awkward situation while we were here. There was a quarter on the floor and my brother went to pick it up. As he did, a woman who worked at Sevananda stood really close to him and said "Did you find that? Give it to me." It was just bizarre. I've never run into that before where a store associate takes the change that a customer finds on the floor. I mean, it was just a quarter, but it was an odd situation.
google avatar

Katherine M.

Yelp
My experience w/the Parking guy was an aggressive and intimidating moment today. I literally wanted to get in my car as fast as I could to avoid the situation. I parked in what looked to be a parking spot and after spending $70 at Sevanada and came out with this man reprimanding me over and over until I literally got in my car and closed the door. He made sure I knew how I inconvenienced everyone in the parking lot and to never do that again. I will not go back. I've been going there for 30 years. I don't need to be treated that way anytime anywhere.
google avatar

La-Shonda S.

Yelp
So I came here because I needed some herbs and the place had everything you could imagine. I'm making some slaves for myself and some clients so I wanted to get some vs ordering some. Now getting into here is a hassle because it's one way in and one way out so you have to hope you get a parking spot as soon as you drive in. Once you are inside then you are good. The store is very clean and they have a lot of things like vitamins, juices, herbs, etc. Now that place is definitely crowded and the herbs were plentiful of what I needed. I will definitely come back here again to get more herbs when I stop in GA again.
google avatar

Ishani M.

Yelp
The people that work here have so much knowledge when it comes to holistic medicine & making recommendations which is major . I get my seamoss (I buy the one pictured in this post) Chaga & blood detox here. Beware of the shorter seamoss in the fridge I bought it once and it tasted like seaweed & fish (horrible had to throw out) meaning they didn't make it correctly. Other than that 5 stars!
google avatar

Nate C.

Yelp
The water here is some of the best Alkaline you can purchase in the area. It's great for your organs and an awesome resource for feeling healthier. I found a neat little keep sake - "the Incense matches". The also have a wide variety of body oils from frankincense and patchouli. With all the stress the you can encounter in the earth this is a place where you can find detox resources and other items that spark a spiritual awakening.
google avatar

Kahla W.

Yelp
This is my favorite health food store PERIOD. You can find just about any tincture here and please don't get me started on the herb wall. I love this place way to much. In fact I've had to catch myself for weeks now I'd come here for lunch since transitioning to vegetarian/veganism... I've been to plenty health food stores. This one is the best. You can also get groceries, clean environment, restrooms are always clean, body care, vitamins, books, hair care products, teas, sage, candles of all sorts, incense, bath salts you name it they probably got it...or can get it!
google avatar

Jai D.

Yelp
My favorite co-op store. I love the organic products and wide variety of herbs and spices.
google avatar

Yelp
This placed USED to be a VIBE! Now it's just weird, uptight and BAD vibes! What has happened?! The workers for sure are unhappy because you can feel it in your interactions with them. What happened to warm customer service? This may just be the last time I come. Shame.
google avatar

Nichelle W.

Yelp
You can find an array of Paul, natural, organic products in this place, my niece used to carry her popcorn in this place check her out at as this is our booth green popcorn on the Internet. I love the samples this place has become a variety of soups and sandwiches and meals. They have an ample supply Of barreled flours, legumes, and grains.
google avatar

Danielle O.

Yelp
Clean. Friendly support staff. Stocked well and for some reason parking is better than I remember in the past. I was able to get all I wanted and a few extras. Love the hot food bar. I was able to use a coupon on an organic non-GMO and gluten free cereal that ended up costing $2.25. You can't beat that with a stick!! Support local business and community co-ops
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing vegan selections especially the wide selection and unique prepared foods. Beware of their baked goods however. The strawberry cake I got was the worst I've ever tasted in my life. It's essentially a brick disguised as a cake. Butterfly kisses cakes are incredible but not the store brand. Overall the staff are friendly but it is pricey.

Yelp
Please read this about the rude clerk TREVOR in the homeopathic department. He decided to try and belittle me and my friend by telling us what's wrong with Black people after I asked if he worked there. HE SAID BLACK PEOPLE DON'T READ OR OBSERVE ANYTHING! FOR REAL!!! Today I visited Sevananda with a friend to purchase a few items from the homeopathic section. While there the clerk Trevor, I believe was his name was so rude I had to write this review. I want to be sure that it is understood the person I'm speaking of was a short black man (I too am black) with locks, working at approximately 5:30ish pm on April 21, 2020, in this department. The homeopathic department was only allowing 6 people to enter this section at a time (Covid-19) and while the department is only 3 isles it still was a little overwhelming. I then saw this person standing looking at the shelf but wasn't exactly sure if he worked there so I asked. " Excuse me, do you work here?" That is when the clerk Trevor turned and said this is what I hate, black people are not observant at all! I have on a smock and a name badge! I was so shocked about what he said" I didn't really know how to respond. I said, "excuse me, you could have been coming from another job and I couldn't see your name tag but so what if I had? Trevor then went on to lecture, "black people don't observe or read and because he was an educated man he always goes in and observes places and things before he speaks and that's black peoples problem." I said, " I see and in my sarcastic way, I said you know what else some black people do like you? They do to damn much!" He then said, "well you can't group me with other black people. I laughed and then said wait a minute you just grouped us into a category but you don't want me to do the same to you? He then realized, I guess, how stupid he sounded so he sort of smiled and said, "Look, I'm not going to keep arguing with you cause neither of us is going to win." I said, "no you are not going to win". Trevor then said, "I'm not going to help you, you need me!"! I reached over his shoulder and grabbed the product I needed. I responded, I don't need you I found what I'm looking for, so get the stepping. My friend just stood there in shock! She said is this real? Trevor said yes this is for real. I was so shocked I have never had this experience ever at any establishment. I moved out of the homeopathic section since only 6 people could come in and when I stepped out every customer was shaking there head saying this is a shame. Apparently he and the lady working in that section have no customer service skills and were rude and short and have decided that we need them. What was worse was when a male shopper stepped into that section and clerk Trevor tried to stop him but never did he raise his voice at him. I guess he has no respect for woman especially woman customers. Well "educated" Trevor and his co worker has convinced me to never step foot in Sevananda again! But here is a word of advice, Trevor, educated people don't have to announce there educated saying that you are makes you sound even more insecure and unhappy and most likely not educated at all. Stop practicing the, I'm an educated man, thing in the mirror, it's not working for you. If you hate your life do something about it. P. S. Sending a copy of this to the co op board and every social media platform I can find. May not mean anything but if they don't care about their businesses being impacted then oh well. TELLING EVERYONE AND TAKING MY MONEY ELSE WHERE!

Yelp
Love this little grocer-been going here for years. Great selection of vegetarian foods. Especially good prepared food selection! and hot bar! They have a great herbal section with oils and shampoos/soaps. Employees in this section (as well as cashiers) are helpful and engaging. Produce and other grocery prices are pretty steep but I love that it's a coop and that they really support local. Great spot for your quick natural needs.
google avatar

Pat C.

Yelp
I have shopped at Sevananda for many years. They carry a wide variety of brand products and wholesale dry products in bins. They also have a fresh salad bar and hot food bar. The hot food bar is always delicious and you can choose from having small, medium or large serving. The staff are partners in the co-op. They're are friendly, helpful and professional.. great customer service. This shop offers many sales. Some of the items are a tad pricy and may be purchased elsewhere for less, but I realize I'm supporting the co-op with my purchases. The shop also offers cooking demonstrations simplifying how to make nutritious vegan dishes. The parking is great but depending on the time of day or week.. it may be difficult to exit onto Moreland Avenue.
google avatar

Tanesha M.

Yelp
I went to this place because its hella vegan and vegetarian and has basically everything you need for this lifestyle. I've been on more than 15-20 occasions and I've never left a review. I figured it was a one off. And then a 2 off and then a 3 off and now I'm like no.... its them. Every time I'm at this store I'm ignored. When I ask for help its very dismissive and "go over there" or look on that wall. I think the selection there is great and they have everything you need but the customer service sux. Today was the last straw. I won't go back
google avatar

Larrice S.

Yelp
Pretty good. Can get crowded in an isle which isn't safest with Covid. Nice selection of items, prices are comparable to neighboring places. Hopefully they price match soon.
google avatar

Amber M.

Yelp
As always this place never disappoints me . Anytime i need my reup on herbs , oils , organic items this is the place to be . The staff is always helpful and willing to go above and beyond ! I literally been coming to this store since i was in my mom stomach. When i come to this store , i feel a sense of relief . It's therapeutic. It's a place where i feel alive . I highly recommend this place
google avatar

Yelp
This is a great one stop shop for your organic foods, vegan dishes and home remedies! Sevanada market is located in little five points in an eclectic area. I've been about a dozen times since moving to the area and they always come through with rare to find and creative items for skincare, health remedies and dope essential oils. I get my Shea Butter and soaps from here even though they tend to be pricier than average the quality is well worth it! On the LOW you gotta try the vegan Mac and cheese either spicy or regular both are hella delicious. They also have alkaline water by bulk and a lot of black owned food products that are homegrown to ATL. Parking lot is spacious, service is so so depending on who's register you pull up on. I just keep coming back because it's consistent, unique and a staple to the community in which I reside. Def a place to hit up while in the city! Overall 4 STARS
google avatar

Meaghan O.

Yelp
Better than the markets in LA for gluten free snacks. Only here for one night by picked up a bunch of good stuff.

Meekell B.

Yelp
This place has changed over the years. Two of the ladies that work the registers can be very Rude. The young guy with glasses that wears the hat is a smart mouth. Please bring back the old crew because these people are a joke. Sevananda must do better'
google avatar

Alicia K.

Yelp
The store is great but the security guards have had absolutely horrible customer service. On 2/6/21, we arrived at the store 10 minutes before closing just to get a refill on water as we were approaching the door at 551pm,the security guard who was on the phone, stopped us and said that the store is closed and we could not come in we asked him if since its not actually 6pm, could we run in and get water? The security guard began to talk about my partner and I to the person he was speaking to on the phone saying, "people act like they do not understand.." he was extremely rude. Although the policy may have changed to accommodate an unplanned circumstance, the store hours were 12pm to 6pm, the store closed significantly earlier, and several people were treated in a less than professional way.
google avatar

Natasha R.

Yelp
Just delicious!!! You can find everything here from fresh made vegan food to groceries galore!! They provide boxes to take your stuff home to reuse and they had a lot of health products. I loved shopping here. The meals made in their deli section are so good! Wish I lived here so I could come all the time.
google avatar

Raymond E.

Yelp
I hate to do this because the store has good items and 5 gallon Alkaline water at a reasonable price. We got to the store at 5:51 pm. The security guard on Saturday Feb 6th 5:51pm was unprofessional and rude. it didn't provide me and my partner with a desire to continue business with your company. Up until recently We've never had any issues to this level prior and I feel that me and my partner have been treated unjustly. The security guards seemed to have a complex at times. First time was with a light skin security guard who seem to have chip on his shoulder. However We both shrugged it off. This is not acceptable at all. If this happens again when we get there earlier I will update this review further.

Yelp
I always have a great time here and I make sure to stop in every time I end up in ATL. I love the area and am usually a quick shopper so I haven't had any bad customer service issues. Hopefully, that'll never be the case because it would be hard to be deterred by this place.
google avatar

Eugenio V.

Yelp
Literally vegan heaven! They have a great selection of vegan food items I can't find other places. Also great prepared vegan food.
google avatar

Lisa J.

Yelp
They have everything from homemade natural soap to vegan salmon. Love breakfast, the vegan biscuit and vegan sausage with kale..... OMG to die for. Vegan chocolate cake too. Its one the best neighborhood store in 5 points.
google avatar

Shantelle R.

Yelp
I have learned so much from this store; it is amazing and so are the staff. I began my vegetarian journey Dec. 28th, 2018 and this is my go to place for anything food, hair and health related because I trust them I have had a few interactions with cashiers that I would rate less than five stars BUT it doesn't change the overall energy of this store. P.S the hot bar
google avatar

Carmen G.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! Entire market has natural products ranging from beauty products to food. I noticed they also serve food, there was a line so I didn't get to grab a bite. I was in the store for almost 45 minutes just browsing the herbs and pills. I found some sea moss and a smoked spicy kale salad that was so good! The people who worked there were very friendly and knew the products well. Which made it easier for me to shop because I would had been in there all day, just out of curiosity with most of the products. This is the place to go if you're really into the vegan lifestyle, not that many places in Atlanta. Also it's convenient right in Little 5 points. A bit pricey but well worth it for healthy living.
google avatar

Leigh N.

Yelp
If you're in the area it's worth checking out. I really like that there are so many vegan prepared food options. Be aware that there are many prepared foods that are very spicy so if you're sensitive to this, ask. There is a unique earthy smell in the store. Parking can be difficult especially at certain times of the day.

Yelp
I would literally kill someone for the Sevananda vegan mac and cheese. Like literally.

Yelp
If you are looking for a unique one stop shop healthy food options and health related products this one of the places to visit. They offer a hot bar with varied meat or vegetarian meal options located in the back the shop. The sell vitamins, body care, fresh produce, and juices, frozen foods, and snacks. Customer service is really great. They are helpful explaining products or helping you find what your looking for. It's very family friendly. Very community oriented feel. The wait in lines isn't long. Overall good experience. I had breakfast from the hot bar but I was hungry so forgot to take pics. I had potatoes and two sausages. It was good. Prices are reasonable but some prices might be slightly higher on some items in comparison to your local grocery store. I'll be back to try some things I saw on my last visit.

Yelp
Really nice find. I was in the area at the Phoenix Wellness Spa next door. I enjoyed the lose bulk herbs my the pound. I was able to find drinks I can not find where I live. Well organized and a large selection. Interesting line of ginger drinks.

Yelp
10/2020 | So I've been away from Atlanta now for close to 26 years and I remember when Sevananda started back in the day. Going back recently just wasn't the same or anywhere close to the same. If it's your only option, I guess it'll do but a few things stood out that caused me to write this review. I'm actually disappointed that an Atlanta establishment this legendary that was actually a pioneer in the health space in the 90's has gone down. For starters theres now security at the entrance - I guess thats a sign of the times but its not a good or welcoming look. The staff I came in contact with was helpful to some degree, albeit the person had a noticeable cough or what appeared to be a cold. No bueno considering the nature of the store is that of a health market and the fact that we're in the midst of a global covid pandemic. If you're sick, just stay home. Their mask was also inside out. On a good note, I do respect the fact that there was some effort in putting hand sanitizer at the entrance, although during these times it would've been nicer if there were wipes for the hand baskets and carts like most stores have now. Speaking of the pandemic, one thing that really really disturbed me was the fact that the bulk food section was still open for full-on service allowing customers to touch communal handles and help themselves to these items. Ew Yuck! I also expected to go there and get some nice baked goods but was highly disappointed at the selection as well as the total selection of prepared food in general. The only thing that looked good was an overpriced pumpkin cream torte in the refrigerated section for $6 for a tiny two bite square. Heck for a couple dollars more I could've gotten a whole key lime pie at the dekalb farmers market. I was also expecting to go there and get some alkaline water. However the machines were not properly labeled with the ph levels. I almost wonder if it was even alkaline at all. All three machines were labeled an alkalinity of 8+. What is it exactly?? Is it 8.5, 9 or 10?? It was after this experience that I decided to walk away with just a package each of super hit and nag champa incense and my over priced pumpkin torte; disappointed that my nostalgic Sevananda was forever gone. Seems as though this store has seem its good days. I got a "worn" feel from it all together. It needs new management and a new overhaul. And for it to be labeled a co-op market, the prices were pretty high. I came home and ordered my items online for much cheaper. Oh well, my Sevananda days are over. There are other great health markets in Atlanta that will get my business from now on.
