"Because Cape Town has such an international dining scene, visitors often arrive in the city and wonder what South African food actually is—and the country’s diverse heritage makes it a challenge to pin a definitive answer down. But the chef at Seven Colours Eatery does an excellent job of highlighting much-loved local dishes that many people still cook at home. For example, you can try boerewors, a type of spicy sausage, served with relish and maize porridge, and vetkoek, or fried dough, stuffed with mince or cheese and jam. Whatever you choose, you’ll leave this restaurant with a new love for bread cooked on an open flame." - mary holland

I finished my city bike tour with AWOL tours who recommend lunch at Seven Colours Restaurant. The food and service were amazing! The young man that served me as welcoming and attentive. They features specials everyday and everything is homemade and reasonably priced. I will be back!

Ultimate experience for local food. Amarula cider and rooibos cider are tasteless but it's a can it's not made by them. All the food was top notch in a beautiful decor and a thoughtful presentation. I recommend and I would go back in a heartbeat.

Warm, hearty and flavoursome meal! Truly a complete plate, and while none of the components taste the same, they work so well together. The greens add a little bitterness, the curried lentils are slightly sweet, and the slaw and beetroot add a freshness that cuts through the rich flavours. Beef was tender, and fell apart with the slightest touch of my fork.

This place served authentic South African food which is very hard to find. The food was sensational! It was bursting with flavors. The chef and owner came out to chat with us and was so lovely and shared some great insight into South African food. Our servers were also very nice and attentive. Overall my family and I had a fantastic lunch here. This place is a MUST VISIT in Capetown.

Really good food. Like REALLY good food. I had the oxtail which, as a Jamaican, was very impressive. This place was a pleasant surprise and with taking the time to try if you're in the area. Absolutely dine outside off the weather is nice. One of the few black owned businesses in the area.
