What Surprised Seattle Dining Authorities in 2018? | Eater Seattle

"I’m still kind of lamenting Seven Beef’s pivot into Central Smoke and Bar; I was selfishly hoping to make cote de boeuf and Amaro Montenegro a birthday tradition." - Adam H. Callaghan

Smoky Southern Barbecue Meets Asian Flavors at Seven Beef’s Replacement | Eater Seattle

"Opened in October 2015 as a sibling to Ba Bar and Monsoon, Seven Beef focused on high-quality cuts of grass-fed, dry-aged Washington steak and a modern interpretation of bò 7 món, a traditional seven-course Vietnamese beef dinner; the restaurant at 1305 E Jefferson St. announced in April that it would switch to Central Smoke. The restaurant stated it sources whole, grass-fed and grass-finished cows from Heritage Meats in Rochester, Washington, with all beef dry-aged and cut in house by its own butcher." - Megan Hill

Vietnamese Steakhouse Seven Beef Is Becoming Central Smoke | Eater Seattle

"A grand Vietnamese steakhouse in the Central District from Eric and Sophie Banh (Monsoon,Ba Bar), Seven Beef opened in October 2015 and focused on high-quality cuts of grass-fed, dry-aged Washington steak and a modern interpretation of bò 7 món. They source whole, grass-fed and grass-finished cows from Heritage Meats in Rochester, Washington, and dry-age and cut all of their beef in-house. I learned via a post by Brandon Addicks in the closed Facebook group “WA State Bartender’s Community” that the restaurant is changing its name to Central Smoke and shifting its focus to smoke-heavy cocktails, with a call for experienced bartenders to “get in on the ground floor of an incredibly dynamic new bar program” immediately; few additional details are available about timing or what it might mean for the food menu, and the company has not posted an official announcement nor responded to requests for comment." - Megan Hill

I was BLOWN away by how good the BBQ was. We have some bangers here in Conway and this blew them all out of the water. Was able to meet with the owner, Chad, who was so kind and has a fantastic story to tell about the history of the restaurant and his family. They own their own meat processing plant and cows where the vast majority of their meat comes from, and they utilize local as much as possible. Cannot WAIT to try their steak and seafood dinner service!

Great experience and a great staff. The food options were very good with options for dairy free. Beyond expectations to meet the owners and the restaurant manager. Try everything you can!

We were really looking forward to having a nice restaurant in Conway but were really disappointed with Seven. We went at lunchtime to celebrate a special occasion and they did not have champagne or Prosecco available. My husband ordered a steak and fries. The fries should have been cooked a little longer and were greasy, he said the steak was ok but not something he would order again . Our two guests both ordered the salmon salad which they said was just ok. I ordered one of the flat breads and it was very bland and chewy. The cheese didn’t have any flavor and instead of the heirloom tomatoes listed on the menu it was covered in cherry tomatoes which are not as flavorful as heirloom. We ordered two desserts which were pretty good but heavy. The peach cigars were sweet and crunchy . The service was the best thing about the restaurant. Our server was very friendly and helpful although service was a little slow for lunch considering there was only one other table of two there. The atmosphere is nothing special. It’s a rather large place so you don’t get an intimate feel. The decor seemed dark and dated to me. If you want a nice special occasion meal this is really not the place in my opinion.

Conway has long been in need of a truly upscale dining experience, and 7 Oaks has more than delivered. This elegant farm-to-table restaurant offers not only a sophisticated atmosphere but also an opportunity to dress up and indulge in the finer things. Finally, a restaurant with a dress code! From the moment you walk in, the impeccable service sets the tone for an unforgettable evening. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in ensuring that every detail of your dining experience is perfect. The food at 7 Oaks is nothing short of extraordinary. We started with the calamari and crabcakes, both of which were absolutely perfect. The calamari was tender with a crisp, light batter, and the crabcakes were bursting with fresh, rich flavor. For the main course, the New York strip was everything you could want in a steak—flavorful, tender, and cooked to perfection. The duck, which can be tricky to get just right, was expertly prepared and melted in the mouth with every bite. The cocktails at 7 Oaks are equally impressive. They are classy and unique, with a touch of creativity that makes them stand out from the usual fare. And for dessert, the peach cobbler cigars were a delightful and unexpected treat, providing the perfect sweet finish to an exceptional meal. Whether you're looking for a romantic date night or a gathering with friends, 7 Oaks is the place to be. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough—it truly is the gem that Conway has been waiting for.

Google
I am shocked this place is still in business. Reader's digest version: Party of 4, seated @ 7:00 They were out of 4 of the items ordered... ok... kept ordering until we hit things they DID have. After many apologies from the manager(?) and one visit from the owner, the food arrived @ 9:00, with one of the orders incorrect (this customer left & went to Mike's Place & had food & drink in less than 5 minutes). We remaining 3 customers, because by then, had finally lost our appetites, had a few bites of mediocre food (ok, it was not that great at all). We paid for our bottle of wine and left. Takes the gold medal for the worst dining experience ever. By the way, dress code? "Manager" & "owner" were not in dress code.

Wow! A restaurant finally on par with RPM Italian in Chicago. I took a close friend here for dinner, hoping for a culinary miracle. They did not disappoint. For starters she had a rosé that she liked quite a bit. We shared fried calamari, which was perfectly cooked with a crisp but light and prosciutto flatbread. Both were absolutely amazing. For the entrée she had duck with an add on crabcake with asparagus in a Bennet sauce sauce while I had Seabass with brussels sprouts. Again, off-the chart sublime! For dessert, a peanut butter, crème brûlée, which was insanely superb! Service - 5 star Food - 5 star, perfectly cooked, outstanding taste Food Presentation - 5 star Atmosphere - 5 stars: upscale, quiet, intimate I’m pretty sure this is the best Arkansas has to offer and I don’t have to drive to Little Rock or Northwest Arkansas, lol or fly to Chicago!!

My husband and I went to celebrate our 11th anniversary there yesterday. The staff were amazing, super friendly and courteous. The food we ordered were delicious as well (lamb, brussels sprouts, heirloom tomatoes on flat bread and calamari) except for my side that is mixed potatoes with corn and peppers, it was a bit on the salty side. The ambiance was okei, they could improve and add decorations to make it more elegant for fine dining experience and replace the ripped seat coz it's kinda an eye sore. We'll still probably eat there some other time again since the staff are wonderful and most of their food are really good. Just needs some improvements. 😉

Came to try their new BBQ menu! It was absolutely delicious, and the staff was so nice. Best potato salad and beans. Also had the Oreo pudding for dessert. I will be coming back with friends and family.

Yelp
My husband and I went to Seven Oaks to celebrate our 30 year wedding anniversary. We had gone once before and had a wonderful experience so we were hoping for more of the same. Our server, Tatum, was perfect. Always there when we needed her, checking on us regularly and as sweet as could be. The owner also came to our table to introduce himself and welcome us as well as thank us for selecting his restaurant to celebrate. We enjoyed a shrimp cocktail, clam chowder, Caesar salad, bone in ribeye with mashed potatoes, lobster, mac n cheese & their chicken Milanese pasta...oh, and crème brûlée and cheesecake for desert. Everything was delicious! To drink, I had espresso martinis (also delicious). The restaurant has that 'special occasion' ambiance...dark woods, black table cloths with cloth napkins, lovely lighting, etc. It was exactly what we were looking for and we will definitely return again.

Yelp
I had huge hopes for this place. We arrived at 7:15 on a Friday night, with a reservation. The place was empty, which is never a good sign. We get seated and order drinks, which were the best part of this experience, but also when we got the first of a pattern of bad news. They were out of the blackberries in one of their signature cocktails. We subbed in blueberry and went to order mains. They were out of the duck beast, so I went with the lobster Mac and cheese. The princess ordered salmon and whipped potatoes. You may notice that her plate didn't have potatoes. That's because they ran out of those too, on a very slow Friday night. It took about 45 mins to get our food and in that time our waitress never topped up our water or asked if we wanted another cocktail, which we would have gotten if she did. The food came out and I realized why it took so long. The lobster was broiled so hard it was stringy and dry It was almost impossible to get out of the shell. After about half of a half of tail I decided it wasn't worth it and waited until I got home where I could do it in a more uncivilized manor. The sauce was fantastic, although the pasta was cooked until it was mush sadly. The salmon was dramatically over cooked as well. It was greatly past well done in order to get the crust on both sides of the fish, instead of just the presentation side. There is a reason culinary school teaches it that way... It was too dry for her to eat more than half, even with the sauce. The whole meal was a disappointment. We heard another couple order dessert, and guess what? They were out of cheesecake too. This place won't be open much longer and I see now why it was empty during a prime dining time.

Yelp
This restaurant could be great! Food was excellent but the service was painfully slow. They were understaffed in the seating area and kitchen.

Yelp
We ordered dessert to go and we enjoyed it very much. The server was super helpful to pick something and while we were waiting the owner came in and thanked us for our business. It was such a nice atmosphere and we hope to go back to try the steak soon.

Yelp
I love seeing new businesses open in Downtown Conway.( I also own business in downtown Conway. ) The reality is this restaurant is scaring away customers with such strong talk of dress code and turning people away by appearance I understand what they're trying to do, but maybe the approach is a little too rigid w/o much explanation to the general public. The food is impeccable. Everything I've put in my mouth from every visit is amazing. They are also supporting other local food vendors that have businesses downtown, which I super appreciate!! We have had the same server Kadevin on both our visits and he is wonderful very attentive very personable. Knows the menu, shows interest, but gives you the space & he is top-notch. The bar has made a specialty sangria drink for me that's not even on the menu, they did it perfectly! I feel like there should be some kind of special for lunch and dinner each day because the menu is small and stagnant after you go a few times. Needs a little bit more uniqueness on the menu -like a hook item that you crave and go back for. Overall, I definitely recommend this restaurant. I love the environment. I love the food. I love the people working. They have some kinks to work out, but I feel certain they will do that! Give them a shot.

Yelp
The food was great. The service was great. The cocktails were really good. We enjoyed ourselves at 7 Oaks. The Ambiance was ok could definitely be better. Overall a really good experience. We would go back.

Yelp
Overall, we had a wonderful experience here! Our waitress was kind and knowledgeable about the menu. They were able to make dietary accommodations for both gluten free and dairy free. The salmon was amazing and everything was perfectly cooked. Some of the best food we have had in Conway. While it is pricey, it is a great experience and offers something that other places do not. We did follow the business casual rules, but also saw other guests in jeans. I would recommend giving this place a try!

Yelp
I haven't been able to get to them, yet. But I will. From what I've heard it sounds like it's good. Only four stars because I haven't been able to go see for myself but yes, I have heard very good things about Seven Oaks Steakhouse.

Lydia C.

Yelp
First time trying this place. Christmas Eve dinner with friends. Over 30 mins for salad, 2 hrs before entre which was Rib eye and 1 side. Was not a premium cut at all, too much fat for such a thin steak and just room temp. Pretty sad when there was only 5 tables being waited on. Wait staff was slow had to ask for refills. Mikes Place will be our go too from now on which is just down the street!! Also don't appreciate gratuity being adding on automatically for sorry service

Rebecca L.

Yelp
I haven't been because I'm afraid I wouldn't be dressed right. I probably eat at Mikes once a week and never feel unwelcome.

Michael Y.

Yelp
The food was good at best, not hot and overpriced. The service was terrible, it took over 2 hrs to receive our food, the restaurant wasn't even busy, maybe 12 people tops. We felt like the only thing they were concerned about was refilling our adult beverage, it really felt purposeful. And then to end the night another 30 mins to get our check and it wasn't even correct and had to be fixed. definitely would not recommend.

Bobby B.

Yelp
My friends are raving about it. They love it mostly the steaks they think they're cooked just immaculately. They're overwhelmed that we're getting so many awesome new places to eat here in Conway. I can't wait to go there and enjoy it so this is not a review of me going there and eaten, but all my friends are so blown away by it so I am looking forward to taking a Friday evening Bringing a couple friends and enjoying the food fun and fellowship. They say the waiters are amazing and you feel like you're in a four-star restaurant.

James C.

Yelp
We waited an hour and a half for our salads alone. People came and went and we were still sitting there. My wife ask the waiter when were the entrees coming and his reply was there were 4 porters in front of us. We were the oldest non fed table at that point. I truly believe he forgot our order. My wife was so miffed she cancelled her dinner order. It wasn't without a fight though. Guess what, two minutes later he comes around the corner with her order and tried to get her to take it. Wasn't going to happen at that point. By the way-there were 6 adults in this party. Won't be back anytime soon. If you enjoy sitting there for two hours before you eat, this is the place for you!

Jeffery B.

Yelp
Their grand opening was abysmal. Upon my recent visit I was amazed with not only the quality of the food, but the service was remarkable. I consider this one of the finer establishments in town for steak now and we will be frequently visiting them. Congratulations ladies and gentlemen you've done well. Keep up the good work and good food.

Darrell C.

Yelp
This place is over priced, we were there 2 hours before we got our food when it came it was cold and the ribeye was not a good cut of meat one of the worst places I have been.
