Chago’s Re-Opens in Belmont with New Interiors and Menu | Eater Nashville

"For the third year running, Terrapin Beer Company’s Touch of Brews festival returns to Sevier Park in 12 South (September 29–30), and I found it channels a Grateful Dead–tinged vibe with live bands, Terrapin Beer and Waterbird Spirits, and a slate of food trucks. The event is family-friendly (kids 10 and under get in free) and features a kid zone with arts and crafts, face painting, and an instrument petting zoo courtesy of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum; tickets are $35." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

I just went there for the first time to find out what kind of activities they have for children. The front desk staff were so rude that I left. They have no business interacting w the public w such stank attitude

This park was beautiful! We got breakfast and had it at the park which was lovely! There is only one port a pot there if you're planning to stay a while, but there are businesses by the park. The old home on site was lovely, but sadly looks like it was talking apart mostly. The land is just beautiful, and there was lots to do if you have kids.

Really great community center which was built fairly recently. My daughter attend the after school program and the camps they have during breaks. There are trails, a playground, park, tennis courts and basketball courts.

My son attends the after school and summer programs here and the staff is great. I have also enjoyed the exercise room, it very clean and easy to use. The restrooms have lockers and showers and are much cleaner than you'd expect considering the kids.

This is a terrific park offering multiple shared areas for picnics, covered picnic tables, terrific playgrounds, a superb paved walking trail, and sports areas. There's something for everyone and dogs are welcome. Mature trees offer the perfect setting for hammocks. It's a great place, convenient to shops and eateries, with access to bikes and scooters.

Great playground for toddlers and one for older kids. There's a paved path that runs through the park and a stream that the kids enjoy playing in wet or dry. People enjoy reading in hammocks in the shade or flying kites up on the hill. Great park overall! There's a farmer's market on Tuesdays in the summer. And there are 2 picnic shelters for events and kids parties. Community center will be ready late Fall or early Winter.

A nice, clean, modern facility in the heart of Nashville’s cute 12th South neighborhood adjacent to Sevier Park. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I love the simple but perfectly adequate weight and exercise room, with rowing machines, exercise bikes, elliptical, treadmills, nautilus weight machines and free weights. Indoor track is free and the weight room is $3 per visit (or 10 visits for $20). All around, a great asset to the community.

I’ve been coming to this gym for a few months now. I’ve always felt welcomed and that the overall energy is accepting and positive. However, my visit yesterday changed this perspective. I walked in ready to scan and was immediately asked by a female employee if I was able to zip my jacket up. I was confused by the question at first. She proceeded to tell me that they “prefer if everything’s covered.” I didn’t know what that meant, or what specifically the issue was since it was the same outfit I’d been wearing to that gym for months. Was the issue that I had on a tank top? Was the issue that my mid drift was barely showing? Was the issue a matter of sweat on machines? I don’t know because it wasn’t explained to me. I was just told I had to be covered up. In a long sleeve jacket. While doing a full workout. This put me in an awful mindset. I felt ashamed of my body, and felt as if I was doing something wrong. All I wanted to do was workout. So I tried. After doing 3 exercises fully clothed I felt extremely out of breath due to being overheated. At this point I noticed another female employee (who was present at the front desk) coming in to CHECK on me! I wondered if she was going to tell the MALE gym member that had been on a phone call the entire time to move to the lobby, but no! Just check on me. She came back in a few minutes later to check again. So I was being policed. How unacceptable. There are signs listed on the gym door that explain dress code, AS WELL AS address not speaking on the phone while in the gym. Somehow my body is more of a distraction than a very loud phone call that echoes across the room. If the problem was with attire, that would be one thing. But after witnessing male gym members (including male employees) dressed in tanks that show their nipples (who cares), I realize the issue is about controlling women’s bodies. Maybe working out in a big t-shirt and jacket wouldn’t be an issue if there was a fan in the gym, but there isn’t. I get hot very quickly and find it much easier to perform in a tight tank than a big t-shirt. I would prefer to be a member at a gym that was more welcoming and encouraging. It’s not 1910, why are people still policing women’s bodies and making them feel guilty and shaming them for wearing gym attire AT A GYM? I realize you can make any rules you want. However, you should be enforcing the rules for everyone, not just female customers. I hope you consider changing this rule, or at least stating why it’s in place. And I hope employees can explain it better to customers and not make anyone feel as ashamed as I did.
