I've been eating here for about 23 years now and IMO they have hands down the best friend rice I've eaten in any restaurant in any state, it's delicious. I always get the assorted friend rice, it is loaded with meats. The rice by itself is great the texture is always perfect. The staff is awesome and a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Updated 5/2025 for General Tso’s Chicken picture

Google
The food is great so if that’s what you came here for, carry-on and order. If you want decent service, forget it. We spent like $25 and forgot to ask for red sauce so I walked up to the counter and asked. She barks “50 cents”. I go back to the table to get my phone to tap pay. They don’t take that. “You no have 50 cents?” I said forget it. Come on. You have to serve sauces with your food and it Shouldn’t be extra someone tries to pay for your little 50 Cent sauce And you don’t have the technology to take the payment, give it to Your customer so they can enjoy their meal and not be embarrassed. Ridiculous. I won’t be back.

Google
So yummy! I dont think I've ever had a bad experience here and the food temp is so hot and fresh! Sezchuan pork was soooo good! Wish it had a little more kick to it as a spicy dish though. Also no photo for the review because I ate it too fast.

Szechuan is one of my most favorite places to eat! I have been going to Szechuan for years and I mean 16 to 17 years! This is some of the most amazing and tasty food that you will ever eat I love their egg rolls I love their fried dumplings I love their Seafood fried rice and my wife always gets the chicken fried rice with broccoli added! It has been probably about 6 months since we have been able to get in to Szechuan and as soon as we walked in the saw us and said welcome it's been a long time come on in! They remembered even what we ordered cuz we always order the same thing there! There is been a few times that we have tried other meals there but it matters not what you choose to eat it will be mind blowing delicious! I cannot say enough good things about Szechuan and the family that works there and the people that take care of you there! For service I give them a five star for friendliness they get a five star for Value they get a five star for the food being tasty hot and fresh they get a five star this is a fantastic wonderful experience if you have not ever tried Szechuan on 51st and Memorial you are cheating yourself a life experience of Excellence if you do not go to Szechuan! When I first came across Szechuan it was obviously about 20 years ago somewhere in there and I just fell in love with the food and the people and I have been going ever since and will continue to go till the end of time! So as we say on Tulsa live go get you some Szechuan and you'll be glad you did you will come back again and again and tell them that Billy sent you!

Google
I had an excellent relaxing lunch with my family. Quite enough to be able to enjoy a conversation. Fast service and tasty food. Not as spicy as I expected but still delicious with generous portions.

Google
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great food and great service! The dishes are always fresh, flavorful, and served in generous portions. Highly recommend!

Google
The first time I came here the soup was fantastic. When I came back, the food was awful. The soup was inedible and in my daughter’s words, tasted like horse caca. I thought it tasted like gasoline was added. The cheese wontons didn’t have cream cheese, but some kind of cheese flavored mush that was definitely not cream cheese. Had Panda Express for dinner door dashed to make up for the horrible experience. Sadly I won’t go back.

Yelp
I have eaten at Sezchuan since I was born. My parents would go to this place on a regular and it's been family staple here in Tulsa. I decided to share that experience with my fiancé since she has moved to Tulsa and she agreed to give it a spin. We ordered the Teriyaki Chicken, Five Spice Chicken, Broccoli Beef, and an Egg Roll. As usual, the food was good. It seems be the best during lunch time as the rice is usually fluffier and I'd imagine the grease is much more fresh. I will come back again of course. It's such a calm experience in the restaurant itself and the service is usually fast and satisfying. AND they give you a huge cup when you want water instead of a soft drink. Most places will give you a tiny cup that requires frequent refills. Idk how old the place is but the ambiance inside is still the same as it was when I was 5 years old.

Yelp
The food here is good. The portions are large, and it's fresh. I like the broccoli and beef. The orange chicken is also good. We drove thru because it's very small inside. Our family of 4 ordered 2 regulars and 2 larges, and we ended up with tons leftover. Like, we each have a full meal of leftovers for tomorrow, so keep that in mind when I tell you we spent over $60 on our food. We will know better for next time, but leftover Chinese food is not a bad thing.

Yelp
Always a delicious meal. Never left wanting for more. Every time I've been there my order is very consistent I love the star selection for heat sometimes they ask me why I want to add so many stars. Excellent location it was even recommended by my cardiologist

Yelp
I have been coming here for almost ten years now., several times a month in fact. The staff is so nice and friendly, they are almost like family. The food is truly the best in town. It feels like i have tried half the menu by now. All the choices are good and use fresh ingredients. The food is made to order, so it may take a little longer on busy nights, but is well worth it. The menu is vast and will take a few minutes to look over if not familiar with the choices. They do have a few tables available for indoor seating. The dining room isn't fancy, but after all we're going for the food! The drive through line is the most popular stretching to the street on busy nights. This place has my business as long as they stay open, so go give it a try and get something new!

Tami S.

Yelp
This was the worst food I have ever had. The Cho Cho was tiny burnt pieces of dried meat. More like jerky. The manager is an idiot.
google avatar

Ashley D.

Yelp
If you're looking for great portion sizes and flavors of Chinese food, this is the place for you. Very affordable, very tasty, and the staff is always so friendly! I've only been inside once, but it's very cute and has plenty of seating!

Yelp
I'm sorry, I really wanted to love this place. But Nooooo!!!! I ordered orange chicken. Super salty!!!! Tastes like Hoisin sauce, Salt, sugar, soy sauce. No orange flavor at all. Very disappointing as I've read that this place was super good. Well, it wasn't according to my taste buds. My toddler loves orange chicken and she didn't eat it at all. It came with Fried rice. It wasn't awful, just tasted like soy sauce poured on wok fried rice with oil. Dumplings weren't bad, I give them 2 stars for that part. I'm sure it will taste 100% better hot in person. Dipping sauce was delicious. Stuffing inside had a bit of an odd flavoring to it, couldn't pin point it. Cream cheese wonton. Filling is too little and wrapper is too chewy!! Okay, reason why I didn't want to give them anything higher than 2 stars..... Lady on the phone said they have no more Cream cheese wonton for the night. Told me to try their fried dumplings, it's delicious!!! So when my husband got there, he didn't know but she charged him for Cream cheese wonton and they somehow ended up in my bag and available without knowledge. He had already paid and felt the Wontons after he had walked out. Looks like there was some sort of misunderstanding. But I'm upset about that part. If I knew there were cream cheese wontons, I would've never ordered the dumplings.

Yelp
They did have a lot of food given with the lemon chicken but the lemon sauce was not good. Rather thick and tasteless. The egg drop soup was really bland but very hot. We got the order to go and it was ready when I got there. Kind of disappointed with this place now. It used to be so good.

Yelp
Came here a couple weeks ago when another establishment closed early. It ended up being serendipitous, because we loved Sezchuan! Firstly, we were greeted warmly when we walked in. You could tell that the woman working the front wanted to make sure we were comfortable and happy--even if we were just ordering takeout. My daughter insisted I give this place a great review even before we tasted our food. Fortunately, the food earned a great review in its own right. The orange chicken was tasty: perfectly crisp & smothered in sweet, citrusy sauce. The fried rice, though! It was amazing! I could have eaten that every day for a week. The rice was cooked perfectly. No underdone grains, no hard or dried out pieces. No mushy grains, either, no clumps of blah. The rice had that perfect bite: just the right resistance and chew. The flavor was wonderful, too. We will be back! Might try to eat-in sometime: it looked like it would be a nice, relaxed dining room. A group had just finished eating & their table set up just looked like it had been a nice, yummy gathering.

Yelp
This place has really gone downhill over the years. Last couple to Last few times that I've been here, it's been a disappointment. This time had some chicken teriyaki skewers and egg rolls. Chicken didn't taste fresh. More like soggy breaded chicken.

Mina J.

Yelp
Have loved their food and service for over 12 years. My favorite is the Mandarin Noodles #78.
google avatar

Jan B.

Yelp
This has been my favorite Chinese place for YEARS. When I worked near here about 15 years ago I ate Orange Chicken at least 2 times a week. I've never eaten anything I didn't like here. If there is something on the menu that says it's hot but you don't want it hot, just say "not hot" and that's what you will get!

Tonya H.

Yelp
Food was okay, but nothing to write home about, I've been looking all over the Tulsa area for quality Chinese food, haven't found any yet. Is it just non existent here??

Yelp
My favorite place to eat in Tulsa! My favorite is #20 at a Level 4 spicy on a 1 to 5 scale. The people are friendly & helpful. Don't see what you like? Want to substitute an item? Just ask! Very accommodating! Takeaway or eat in. Absolutely the VERY BEST IN TULSA! The food is always fresh. Veggies crisp cooked. (Cooked just enough.) Dine in is comfortable & casual. Clean restaurant.

Joe J.

Yelp
The food is always good and hot and quick Fast service I like the shrimp lo mein The orange beef and of course a couple eggrolls

Kevin H.

Yelp
I could write 2,000 words on why I love this place, but I will try not to do that. Please support this treasure of Tulsa. TLDR; ----------------------- Exceptional quality AND speed. #71 Grilled chicken rice bowl is my favorite. The chicken is very tender. I would guess it has been marinated. I don't use much of the sauce because the chicken seems to be cooked with some of it. And, of course, the broccoli is so fresh. (Honestly, I've always kinda hated broccoli, but I eat it because I need balance. But yours is just as enjoyable as the protein. #4 Lotus wontons (Crab rangoons) are the best I've had. They taste handmade with a good filling, and the oil tastes very fresh (this is important). #5 Dumplings are also very satisfying. I always order them steamed, but I would imagine the pan-fried ones are even better. ---------------------------- A drive-thru typically functions best with premade, processed, and industrialized products. That is NOT the case here. As a hypoglycemic gourmand, I'm really torn between tasty food and convenience. I don't know how they cook fresh broccoli that fast. By the way, how many fast food restaurants serve you fresh vegetables? Yes, there are unhealthy items available to you, and you should indulge in moderation. However, one of the reasons I enjoy Eastern cuisine is that, like most great meals, the flavor of the sauce brings everything together. The sauce also makes the vegetables much more enjoyable. As someone with impossible standards and a former small business owner who knows the struggle, I still need to attach a few suggestions/requests to my five-star review. 1) Why no Jasmine rice? It is superior in every way, in my opinion. I think any cost difference is offset by the fragrance and texture, adding to its addictive properties. 2) I realize this could increase wait times, but I think it's worth mentioning. I'm not aware of the costs for Door Dash, but considering its popularity, I think you should seriously consider joining to spread your reputation and customer base, especially with your quality. I've had many poor experiences with other restaurants that cannot adapt to delivery, and cold food is one of the biggest disappointments. If I get your food home within 10 minutes of leaving the window and open the box 15 minutes after that, it is still so hot it will nearly burn your mouth! XD That is incredible! Half the time I order food from other restaurants, it is cold when it gets to the door. 3) The drive-thru speaker can be a bit unclear at times. Perhaps this is not an easy fix, and it is working for now, but it could discourage some people. And somehow, you always get my order perfectly correct. 4) Some bright, professional photos of popular items on the drive-thru menu could help entice customers. Although, as a male, I can admire the efficiency and simplicity of an all-text menu. :)

Yelp
Not good at all, the food tasted old and had no flavor. I ordered an egg roll, dumplings and the combination noodles. The dumplings had no flavor and a weird smell to them. The noodles were ok the beef tasted old the chicken and shrimp were ok... There are better Chinese restaurants than this in Tulsa... The kitchen was very messy, I will not eat here again

Yelp
Food is always piping hot. I love those locally owned a small business. I like the chicken and broccoli and the spicy chicken.
google avatar

Katie B.

Yelp
Huge portions at a very reasonable price. Our food was delicious and each meal came with a fortune cookie and a little shortbread type cookie. But also the employees were very nice. Our chatty toddler kept talking to the man who took our order and he was so sweet to him. I definitely recommend this restaurant and we will be returning.
google avatar

Samantha D.

Yelp
I love this place!!!! Kind & considerate people. The food always takes my mind off everything else -- & makes me feel happy & refreshed afterward. There's always a fork & giant napkin in the bag (if you're going drive thru). Things like this matter to me; definitely a worry-free grab and go experience!

Hunter P.

Yelp
If you've ever had school lunch after Michelle Obama we'll this is that, used to get charged 2.40 for this at school and somehow they got out opened a restaurant and charge $12 for it. Chicken tasted like it was made 4 hours ago.

Connor A.

Yelp
I came 20 minutes before closing and the lady taking my order was pretty nice. Food just wasn't good tho. I got the Kumg Pao Pork and the pork didn't look like pork nor did it taste like it. Rice was alright though.

sauk p.

Yelp
I can eat their moo goo gai gan everyday . Streamed dumplings are very good with their sauce and also five spiced chicken does. Their spicy combo fried rice is something I eat often. They are pretty quick too.

Yelp
My wife turned me onto this place back when we were just dating, and it is AMAZING!! Everything from their teriyaki kabobs, to their unique but awesome "orangie chicken" (as the sweet old lady that sometimes mans the window says), or their sweet and sour chicken is outstanding and their portions are all large, so the regular should be enough for any one person. Also, be sure to try their "five spice beef", it may not be on the menu, but it's out of this world!!! **Disclaimer, if you order a large portion that's enough for three or more people! ** Now, the place is dated and they are closed on Sunday's (just like the place that serves The Lord's chicken), but don't let the appearance dissuade you from hitting up that drive through. There isn't a whole lot of space to dine in, but I'm good with that as I'd prefer to eat with my own chop sticks in the comfort of my home. Check them out!!
google avatar

Yelp
Very disappointed with shrimp lo mein today. The food tasted bad. Dry with no sauce and greasy tasting. Shrimp was a bit spoiled tasting. Made my daughter sick eating it. The broccoli and beef with rice was just as atrocious. Never before have I had a meal like this from this restaurant. Before this I gave rave reviews because the food was excellent; not this time.
google avatar

Taralynne M.

Yelp
I love this place . Good food try the Magnolian beef , lo mein noodles or shrimp fried rice . Delish !!! Good service people are nice .

Yelp
I have been eating here for over 20 years. I have never, ever had a bad meal. Food is always hot and fresh and very generous portions. Keep up the good work!

Yelp
I've been here a few times before today but this was the first time I've come in during the ever dreaded lunch rush crowd. I got here around Noon and saw that the drive thru was backed up and even though all the employees were running around trying to get orders out at the window as soon as I stepped up to the front counter I was greeted promptly and waited on by one of the employees from the back. Since I was placing to go orders for myself and a few friends I just read off the already prepared list I had made earlier of two sweet and sour chicken meals with sauce on the side and added my order of combo lo mein with an order of wontons to go. I was thanked and given a ticket with a number they would call when my order was ready. I sat down at the nearest table and watched how everyone in the back worked in unison with the other people around them to get the orders packed and ready to go. It didn't take very long at all before my order was ready and after checking my bag to make sure everything was in there I was ready to go. By the looks on my friends faces they both seemed very pleased with the sweet and sour chicken meals they ordered. The light and crispy battered fried chicken chunks were plentiful in each container and the sauce? The sweet and sour sauce was thick and contained little bits of pineapple pieces that sat suspended in each bowl of deliciously sweet sauce just waiting for the next piece of chicken to be dunked into it. The meal also came with a side of fried rice but the fried rice here is different from other places. Very plain. Maybe made that way as to not take away from the flavor of your main course. My lo mein noodles were still hot and had lots of shrimp, chicken pieces, beef, roast BBQ pork and mushrooms in it. The sauce wasn't over powering but being a sauce person myself it needed a little pizzazz to it. My wontons were great (like crab rangoons) but I've had better at other places. This restaurant is still doing well here in Tulsa. The only thing I didn't like was that your meal doesn't come with an egg roll! (they're extra) and they give you one napkin per meal. (so ask for more if you're a messy eater) Other then that this little gem sits on the corner of 51st and memorial. You can't miss it!!

Yelp
I'm giving 3 stars mainly because I felt some of the szechuan dishes weren't up to par and was missing something. I've had szechuan style chicken many times before and it's one of my favorite go to dishes but the dish here was cooked differently and tasted differently, as well as the szechuan noodles. Prices are reasonable. It does get very packed during lunch hour and dinnertime. Parking is limited but within walking distance if you park next door or the parking lot over. Overall, it is too far for me to make the drive so I probably won't come back unless I'm in the area.

Sheryl K.

Yelp
Excellent food, fast service & friendly employees! Always get my order correctly & have a nice attitude. Love their food & it is always cooked to perfection & hot! Their egg rolls are the bomb! We eat here once a week.

King K.

Yelp
I'm highly disappointed in the service of this establishment . I have been going to this restaurant since I was a youngster and over the years it has definitely declined. Today was the worst experience ever. 1st off the new owner or lady who took the orders is extremely rude and disrespectful. While taking my order she answered her personal phone and talked to her son for 10 mins right as I'm speaking. 2nd she didn't let me complete my order as she proceeds to give me my total with out letting me finish my order. Then she repeats my order back to me with an attitude and I ordered egg rolls as well she wanted to charge me .50 for the sweet and sour sauce. I wanted to add extra meat to my combination fried rice in the past I usually get a $1- or $2 extra with meat with my meal she proceeds to tell me there is a new minimum of $3-$5 dollars ONLY. When the order was finished she slammed my bag on the counter and just walked off so out of line. I've never had this type of service from this restaurant until now. I would not recommend and she needs to be trained on customer service because i regret spending a dime in this place with that type of service inexcusable !!

Ashley D.

Yelp
Food is Amazing!! We got the steamed dumplings. Best I've had in a really long time. We got the small order of orange chicken and triple delight. Everything was amazing. Best orange chicken.

Dave D.

Yelp
Sezchuan Express is a fantastic American-Asian dine in/ take out restaurant!!! Friendly staff, excellent menu selection, clean dining area, fast take out service and a good value for the amount of food served with an order. They are not fancy by any means, but the food is what I want! The ingredients are high quality, veggies and meat dishes are made on the spot, fresh to order, they are willing to make combo dishes from the menu items offered. The soups and appetizers are fresh and hot. The best part is the food is nowhere near as greasy as some other offerings from competition! P.F. Chang should take lessons from SE!! They are closed on Sunday.
google avatar

Melvin O.

Yelp
Wow! Crazy was not expecting to give a drive-thru fast food Chinese restaurant 5 stars but they certainly earned it. Actual pork fried rice with my combo platter and not steamed! The vegetables tasted fresh and the egg rolls weren't overly greasy which happens all too often! This was my first time eating at Sezchuan Express and it certainly won't be my last. Portion size is enough for two so keep that in mind. Reasonably priced, friendly service and delish!? That's 5 stars baby!
google avatar

Johnny M.

Yelp
One of my favorite fast food Chinese restaurant in Tulsa. Always freshly prepared and hot. I enjoy their egg drop soup and Formosa chicken the most.

Lori W.

Yelp
Went thru the drive thru. ordered regular broccoli beef with rice noodles instead of rice. no problem. get to the window and handed him 2 fives which was enough for the meal with change due. then he said it was over ten dollars because he chose to give me the large order. OK fine, so I did not have 2 ones, so I handed him a twenty thinking he would give me back the 2 fives, instead, he handed me 2 ones and some change. when i tried to tell him that i handed him a twenty and he kept the two fives as well, he argued with me and showed me 3 fives that were all wrinkled and would not budge. This eleven dollar meal just cost me 27 dollars. I WILL NOT BE BACK!!!!
google avatar

Jeff S.

Yelp
First, as others have noted, it's primarily takeout. So there's nothing fancy going on here. That said, this has become one of my wife's favorite lunch spots. She literally eats here 2-3 times a week. Her go to dish is the chicken with broccoli. And for a good reason... it's good. I've had it several times myself. Some of the more noteworthy dishes include the Lo Mein, Orange Chicken and Mongolian Beef. One distinctive dish is the Dan Dan noodles. A very different dish, with a peanut sauce instead of the usual brown asian sauces. I will admit that for my personal palate, the sauce was a little too much peanutty, but that could just be me. Most dishes are served with a couple scoops of either fried or steamed rice. Portions are generous to the point of almost too much. Egg rolls are pretty standard, but their dumplings, especially the pan fried ones, are quite good. Overall, a great place for Chinese takeout. Good value, good portions, and most important of all, good food.
google avatar

Markis T.

Yelp
Really great food and a vast menu. The drive-thru moves at a decent pace but best thing about this place is the portions are plentiful and the price is unbeatable. This is what I hit on the way home when nobody feels like cooking. Would have given a much higher rating but the smell inside makes dine-in a no-go unless you have a really bad sinus cold. Hot the drive-thru!

Shaina S.

Yelp
Been coming to this Szechuan for years. Consistently good food. Nothing fancy, but classic Chinese take away.

Bryce D.

Yelp
This place is honestly the best Chinese takeout I've personally found! If you're look for dumplings that'll knock your socks off this is the place to go! I highly recommend the chicken fried rice!!
google avatar

Xiaonan S.

Yelp
How can I never rated this one?! I love this place. As a Chinese I think this is the best Chinese fast food place in Tulsa. Their spicy food is very good and their meat and vegetables are fresh. It's been 7 years since I came to Tulsa the price is still good. In case you don't know, ask for marinated eggs~ it's so good~
google avatar

Maice L.

Yelp
This place is BEST CHINESE in tulsa town. You would try to eat their different menus, and I know it would be best delicious in the teaste. 1, The manger and staffs are very friendly and more take a care on their customers. 2. It's very small place on the corner, and most of traffics on the street.
google avatar

Ashleigh V.

Yelp
The mandarin chicken was good but the fried rice had no flavor. Felt like I was eating white rice with peas. The egg rolls are tiny. The hot and sour soup is delicious.

Tracy W.

Yelp
We love this lace! Great value and friendly service. The cost is very reasonable. Sometimes the drive through is long but moves fast and the best part is it's ALWAYS fresh!

Barbara K.

Yelp
The guy taking order is rude. Sounded muffled thru the intercom so I asked him what I ordered when I pulled up and he snapped and said you said large one...ok yes but that's not what I was asking. Kind of rude behavior for someone who wants my money
google avatar

Ariel W.

Yelp
This is the CLEANEST, perfectly portioned chinese food I've ever eaten. It's the EXACT taste you'd expect from the meal ordered. Consistent flavor, not oily or saucey, but juuuust right. A new staple for me.

David E.

Yelp
Guy talking on the intercom is rude. He wants everything you want said in one go which is hard since the menu is already hard to read. I don't get annoyed easily, but he has had an attitude the last 2 times I've been through the drive through, so much so, that I snapped and told him to chill and let me order. The chicken I received was so chewy it seemed like I was eating rubber. I figured they were leftovers from the previous day. Flavor was a no, which is disappointing since it's usually OK. Had two bites and threw it away. Not coming back. I don't care how much it costs as long as the food and service are good! Guy is rude for someone that wants my business.
google avatar

Zack B.

Yelp
Was given one packet of soy sauce with my rice. I asked for more and was told no. Ordered General Tso's Chicken as well, all I got was burnt chicken in sauce. No veggies at all.
google avatar

Cody R.

Yelp
This is the best Chinese takeout in Tulsa. I have been eating here for years. Anytime I'm with someone and they suggest fast Chinese, I suggest Sezchuan Express. I have been to many other takeout places and they just don't compare. Start off with some egg rolls, they are fresh. My go to dish is the chicken lo mien. Theirs uses a thin sliced chicken that is very tasty and clean of any fatty or chewy parts. The biggest turn off for me is fatty, chewy chicken. The lo mien also has a perfect ratio of meat to veggie to noodle. A lot of places are too heavy on the veggie in my opinion. Another favorite of mine is the peppered beef. Just like the chicken, their beef is not fatty or chewy. The sauce is very tasty and sautéed with green pepper and onion. It comes with a side of fried rice. My wife loves their broccoli beef and lemon chicken. The place is pretty small but there's almost always an open seat, many people do takeout or go through their drive through. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. Definitely stop in when in the mood for some quick Chinese takeout.
