Shabro’s All-You-Can-Eat Hot Pots Arrive In Frisco Next Month | Eater Dallas

"Known for its spicy, simmering all-you-can-eat hot pots, Shabro — which opened in Carrollton in 2018 — will open a second location at 9144 Prestmont Place, Suite 200 in Frisco. It quickly developed a devoted hot-pot following thanks to perfectly spiced broths and an all-you-can-eat meat buffet. Diners start by choosing a soup base — miso, seafood, chicken, and traditional Chinese huo guo broth — then select from meats including prime beef chuck, boneless short rib, chicken breast, lamb, and pork belly; there’s also a salad bar with plenty of veggies and other accoutrements to add to the simmering pot. Dinner all-you-can-eat runs under $25, though the restaurant charges a $6 fee for each plate of uneaten leftovers. Its Instagram indicates the Frisco location will debut in February, and Eater has reached out for the official opening date." - Amy McCarthy

First time here with family, the restaurant is so huge & have a very good ambience. We've greeted by the employee, her name is Sue! She's very great and very professional on how to handle customers. The food, itself, is great! I love the pancakes, bulgogi & side dishes. Everything is remarkable!! They have a hotpot on the 2nd floor, but we didn't go, because it's still summer time in here, we might try it at other times then. Love love the service!! Great experience! Thank you Sue!

This place has two floors. The first floor serves korean dishes while 2nd floor is dedicated to shabu shabu. We chose to dine on first floor. Our orders were - spicy pork and dried fish ssam bap and both were much better quality and taste than we expected. If you are gen x Korean who grew up with Korean country side food give this place a try. Absolutely love the mild seasoning. Brought back so many fond memories. Definitely coming back to try other menu items.

My first experience with Hot Pot. Since I arrived with someone familiar with this establishment we went to the second floor. I loved the bold decor! It was a fun and great experience for me to choose the vegetables that I desired in my hot pot. Customer service was great! We were greeted and asked where we would like to right away The waitress also asked if this was our first time here. My guest did not speak loud enough so she explained the meat choices and how the food was to go in the pot. My guest piped up and insisted that she be the one to show me how to regulate the temperature for the Hot Pot. The floor, tables, plates, silverware and buffet area were clean and well maintained. I liked the fresh selection of all the items. The food cooked fast and I enjoyed the flavor. It is all you can eat (cost $26 per person). We had meat treats left over. An additional $5.95 is charged if you want to take left over trays. I would return!

WOW! I saw the $9.95 Lunch Social sign outside and was lured in. Sue greeted and sat me immediately, explaining the lunch special. Food came out fast. I got the doenjiang (soybean stew) on the menu, it came with all the pictured banchan which were fresh and flavorful. Good service and good food can be hard to come by these days and both are front and center at Shabro. I will absolutely be back with friends!

We went to try hotpot at noon on a Monday. This restaurant divided into two areas, ground floor to serve traditional Korean dishes where the second is dedicated for hotpot. We took the stairs to reach the hotpot area. The second floor was not brightly lit but enough to see everything. All you can eat items were on the side along with sauces and ice cream. Lunch offers four different kinds of meat, two kinds of beef, pork and chicken . They were sliced very thin. All you can eat shrimp and crab were not as fresh as I hoped for. The vegetables were very fresh and the sauces were very tasty.

✨Average Food & Service✨ ✨Experience/Service - This was our first time trying this hot pot restaurant and when we walked in we weren’t sure here to go because there was no one to greet us. We saw a sign that said come to the second floor for hot pot, so we did. When we got up there, there was a worker with a pigeon in his hands walking in the restaurant (very strange - and unsanitary!). A waitress came over and took our order and let us know we could order 3 meats at a time. She was friendly and very attentive. When we got back to our tables, they had added our broth to soup bowls, but didn’t give any instructions on how to turn it down if we needed too. We both burned our mouths because the broth was too hot! We had waiters and waitresses check on us frequently, so I did appreciate that! ✨Buffett - They have a really large selection of vegetables and seafood at the buffett! My husband got a clam and said it tasted pretty fishy, but I got several shrimp and they tasted fine! They also have a great selection of sauces. They also have self-serve ice cream. ✨Food - they have a pretty good selection of meats and they seemed like they were good quality. I got the “original house soup” and my husband got the “Chinese Hot Pot HuoGuo” (mala spice). He said his was pretty watered down but had good flavor! Mine didn’t have a lot of flavor so I ended up adding chili oil. ✨Cost - We went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. They charge dinner price $28.99 on Saturday, Sunday, and holidays no matter the time. 15% gratuity is included in every check, no matter the party size. ✨Overall, we had a pretty average Hot Pot experience, and because it was so pricy, we probably won’t be back.

Service is great from everyone. The music selection is... ... really odd. They played a lot of Jelly Roll and some Christmas music, but also uncensored, foul, gangsta rap. Not family friendly at all! Most of the food was good. I recommend the house soup made for HotPot, as both the chicken and cream eye delicious on it. However some of the vegetables had mold growing on them, so it was obviously not fresh. We told the staff and they apologized, but no discount was given for moldy food. Dumpings and corn were really good. $150 for 4 people, including tip.

Yelp
On this cold day I wanted Hot Pot and lucked up on finding this place. It was my fiancé's first time and they explained it in detail for him which was very kind. I enjoyed the food and the price was good. I will definitely be back again to try different soups bases.

Yelp
If you enjoy decent human interaction and plates removed or more meat when you run out, turn around, get back in your car, and go somewhere else. Atmosphere is drab, food options are limited, and only one set price $30. No ice cream scoops available. Overall, I wouldn't go here again.

Yelp
We walked into Shabro hoping for something light, not the all-you-can-eat hot pot. Upon entering, we looked at the menu and were greeted by the ladies upstairs. We decided to stay because the signs indicated that the first floor was for dinner and the second floor was for hot pot. Despite that, they kept calling us to go upstairs, assuming we wanted hot pot. After clarifying that we didn't, we went back downstairs. It took a while before we were greeted and able to order. The wait for the food was long, and we noticed a stark difference in service compared to a nearby table of three ladies. The staff was incredibly attentive to them, chatting and serving them quickly, while our experience felt overlooked in comparison. When our food finally arrived, it was fine -- the corn cheese was good, but the soondubu wasn't my favorite. The side dishes were decent. Unfortunately, it felt like we were treated differently, possibly because we weren't Korean. I understand cultural nuances in service, but it did make the experience uncomfortable and left us feeling unwelcome.

Yelp
Food was fresh, hot, and spicy. Lots of veggies and things to add to soup. LOVED it! Ambiance was nice and beautiful decor! The waitress wrote our order down in Korean. Would highly recommend and we'll be back!

Yelp
I love the variety of meat that you can get. They were fresh, tender and sliced into thin pieces. They were easy to cook through I alsk love all the sauces that they have at the end of the table. In addition, the vegetable, mushroom and seafood are all delectable and fresh. One thing I want to mention is the attentive service the staff offered. The guy there offered me a brand new hair tie to tie my long hair back. It did help me to keep my hair away from my face and I could eat in peace. The ladies there kept taking empty plates away and asking what we wanted to order. The plates there were also cleaned not like manna. I will definitely return and have some more all-you-can-eat hot pot there.

Yelp
I came here ready to love this place. The idea of being able to customize my meal by picking all of the individual components and controlling the way it's cooked seemed perfect. I'm always happy to choose my own adventure! During lunch the meat selections are limited to only 4 types, so we ordered brisket, beef round and chicken breast (skipping the pork belly). However, all of the items in the self service area are still available. After loading up my silver plate with vegetables, noodles and seafood I was even more hopeful that this would be among the best meals I had ever had. But sometime between scorching my tongue on soup that was a couple degrees shy of liquid hot magma (my own fault) and biting into crawfish that was well past it's prime, I quickly realized that this wasn't the blissful experience I had anticipated. Things continued to go downhill when my spicy miso soup devolved from a mostly flavorless, yet passable, broth to a sour, dishwater-like sludge. I think the bad crawfish and poorly chosen soup base were to blame for that since everyone else at my table slurped down their soup with no complaints. Now I don't want to ignore the positive aspects of the experience because it certainly wasn't negative all-around. The dumplings and fish balls were pretty tasty. Also, the vegetable selection was abundant and everything seemed fresh. I really enjoyed trying all the different sauces as well. The dissatisfaction other reviewers have reported regarding the amount of meat they were served was not an issue for us at all. We got 6 trays of meat in total that ended up being sufficient for my family of 6. For dessert they have chocolate and vanilla ice cream, which is a nice way to help soothe those mouth burns! Oftentimes at an AYCE establishment it's difficult not to overindulge, even when the food isn't extraordinary. This was not such an occasion. At $23 per person for lunch, plus a mandatory 18% gratuity (for a server we saw twice within the first 5 minutes of being seated then once more to deliver the check) it was an expensive, barely 3 star meal.

Yelp
In general, my experiences at the restaurant have been positive. It is worth noting that the temperature inside the restaurant can be quite warm, which I guess could be expected in a hot pot setting. But man, even when you're not near the steaming pots, there just doesn't seem to be any air moving. However, I believe that some basic upkeep and modernization is greatly lacking, particularly in the restroom area. The whole restaurant feels outdated and a bit neglected... also, dining guests shouldn't be able to see straight into the urinal from the dining area. Lunch prices are good! Drink prices are typical, if not just slightly high. The variety of options on the buffet is pretty good! There is room for improvement in terms of promptly refilling empty dishes, particularly for items like crab and shrimp. Nonetheless, I found the overall freshness of the food to be satisfactory and did not encounter any significant concerns. While I wasn't particularly impressed with the soup broth, it was fine. I would like for the Chinese broth to have more salt and Szechuan peppercorn. There is a hand washing station for guests, but the particleboard base is crumbling and the whole thing looks like it's about to fall over, be careful! I'd go back, but not really soon. It's worth checking out for sure!

Yelp
Not fresh, not fresh, mediocre service and ingredients. Limited selection of meat choice and seafood not fresh. Was first visit and will not return. Google review is over rated.

Yelp
This place is worth going to. When we walked in we were greeted and given the option to eat at the restaurant which is on the first floor, or the shabu shabu all you can eat hot pot on the second floor. We chose the hot pot. Amazing selection of meats, veggies, noodles and sauces. The staff was great, they took their time to explain how to prepare and cook our food and make sure we had the best experience. The atmosphere has great music, lots and lots of table and private party rooms. The price is per person and tip is included. Many options for those who don't eat meat. Must try!

Yelp
Food is delicious, the cilantro banchan is my new fav side. I had the spicy stir fried beef intestines, we also had the float fried dumpings, japchae, cheese corn, beef bulgogi, some sort of spicy tofu soup- so yummy! A++ The watermelon at the end of the meal was the cherry on top!

Yelp
Literally my favorite in all of DFW. The meats are always wonderful and they have the largest variety of individual pot selections I have seen. I have never been disappointed!!

Yelp
I have been here multiple times and the selections they have it great. The service not so much. You can only order 3 meats at a time which is fine, but they take forever to come back around. This makes the all you can eat not true. After receiving our first order of meat they did not come back. My friend had to go call them 30 mins later just to get more meat. They do have a great selection of veggies, noodles and seafood in addition to the meat. I got the chicken soup base and my friend got the original house soup. Both were bland and kind of tasted the same. I ended up adding extra soup base (they offer it at self service bar). After being here 3 times and nothing really has changed, I don't think I will be coming back after this last visit.

Yelp
Place: The place was wonderfully have a good setup. It looks like a fine dining, because of the good lighting they have. Service: The people we met was so nice from the lady who took our order and the person who delivered our order. They were nice to check on us and see if we need anything else. We went there on the last hour, before the buffet close they approach each table to get what they want before it close. Food: The selection was pretty wide and they have lots of kind of meat you can choose on as well. The issue we encountered was the broth was salty, not quite salty but really salty for my tasting and I do love salty food but this one was a little bit far from my liking. We enjoyed everything else aside from the broth and for shabu-shabu broth is really important that is the reason I give only 3 star. For the food selection, service and pricing I will not argue that it was really good. I hope they can check their broth before they serve it and maybe they mistakenly make it salty.

Yelp
It was quiet and the staff was nice. I felt like the broth could've had more taste and flavor to it. Not worth $30 a person for dinner to me. They also charge a 15% tip automatically for tip and 18% for parties 6+, I normally tip anyways but when you add it anyways, I don't add extra.
google avatar

Annemarie S.

Yelp
My main problem was that the broth was flavorless. Other than that I liked being able to get up and get what I wanted. The service was good. I liked the upstairs area, it was very clean. They don't have too many options for meats.
google avatar

Saloni S.

Yelp
Went there for a weekday lunch. Neither the spicy hotpot or the spicy dipping sauces (except one) were actually spicy. The tofu seemed not fresh and was very rubbery and dry. The waitress seemed in a rush.
google avatar

Olivia E.

Yelp
Came here for a family birthday and it's super spacious with plenty of private rooms for large groups. Customer service was great and the waitress was attentive to us. She even thanked us for being great customers. For the price you have a lot of options for veggies, seafood and meats. The sauce bar was really good. Go with the house soup and dipping sauce. My only con would be the desserts. The diy scoop ice cream always creeps me out at buffets and didn't look too fresh. They should consider replacing it with a soft serve machine or some fresh fruit slices. And music playing would've helped the atmosphere, it's weird eating in the quiet. Other than that we had a great time.

Yelp
I was saddened when the newer Shabro in Frisco closed due to the Pandemic, but I'm glad that the one in Carrollton is still open! I came here with a group of friends to hide from the Texas Winter storm. This Shabro is unique in that it's 2 stories and there are sinks on each floor so you can quickly wash your hands if you're a messy hot pot eater. The dinner price is a bit steep for all-you-can-eat at $28.99 (as of December 2022), but you do get a good variety of soup base and meat choices. If you're a fan of spicy, you can request any of the soup bases as spicy. I went with the original house soup base, which was on the saltier/savory side. One of my friends had the miso soup base, which tasted super watered down and bland. We primarily ordered lamb, beef brisket, short rib, beef round chuck, and fish. Honestly, the lamb and short rib were the best proteins to order. Even though it's considered all-you-can-eat, you do occasionally have to hunt down the waitresses to get refills on the meats. It's cool that the veggie/seafood bar is included with the price and so are the dipping sauces. Make sure to take advantage of trying all the different types of fish and rice cakes. This Shabro also includes complimentary ice cream for dessert. The ice cream flavors are vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. I tried the strawberry ice cream and it tasted SUPER artificial and stale. If you're craving dessert after hot pot, then I'd highly recommend checking out one of the local boba shops to satisfy your craving. Overall, if you're hungry and craving hot pot, then I'd highly recommend giving Shabro a shot!

Yelp
I asked for hot broth, I was brought just the base and had to ask for the hot. She brings hot chili oil in a condiment cup and told me to put it in the base. All you can eat is what it's supposed to be but she neglected me as she ate her dinner and chatted with the other server. My broth was boiling so quickly that it evaporated before I could even cook my noodles. The other server finally sees me and asked if everything was ok. I said I was forgotten about and she walked away. I am writing this as I'm still waiting on my bill, as the server is cleaning and straightening up the gloves.

Yelp
Wow wow wow. A HIDDEN GEM. What an experience. Loved the food. Loved that I felt like I was cooking in my own home. Loved the atmosphere. You get to cook your own beef chicken or veggie platter. This place is truly a hidden gem. You get all the food you can eat with such a great variety of vegetables and sauces. I love this place. I have no complaints other than the service being too slow. I would come here again every time I have a family event or a birthday.
google avatar

Donna N.

Yelp
All the broth flavors taste like water.. we have to season it ourselves. Downfall is there's no fish sauce and lime. Only reason for the two stars is because my son loves the rice cakes for his soup. There's a lot of other options around I'd recommend! UPDATE: Service is poor. Food was bland. They charged a 15% tip. I would've tipped more but it's okay. Probably why service being poor wasn't an issue for the company. Made mental note to not come back.
google avatar

Shen T.

Yelp
Went there recently for dinner with a large group. All is fine, as these type of hot pot just needs to make sure the veggies and meats are fresh. Rest of it is just cooking it and put in whatever sauce for taste. I had the original mixed with mala, so the flavor was spot on. The various beef options all looked the same and taste the same as they are all paper thin in slices. So a plate of it, is probably no more than 1/4 pounds of meat, so don't be shy to keep ordering the meat. My main gripe here is that for large group of 6+, I think the service fee is like 18 or 20% automatically? For that, I do expect some service. In my case, my hot pot ran dry as in 1/3 of original, but I had to go find the waitress just for her to come over to fill my pot.
google avatar

Yelp
Good food great place!! Soooooo much fun to make your own food.. great service too...
google avatar

Yelp
I dont like the idea of a mandatory tip. The food is decent but the mandatory tip addon to the bill will not make a regular patron out of me. At least have a sign about it, but I guess trap tactics dont work that way.
google avatar

Pauline P.

Yelp
Not a fan...the broth is SUPER bland. The sauce bar is pretty unimpressive as well. I added a lot of stuff into my broth that was available to me from the sauce bar and it was still bland. Good, flavorful broth is the foundation of a good hot pot experience and Shabro ain't it. I do like the concept of AYCE hot pot with individualized hot pots though. I think I've just been spoiled by similar but better AYCE shabu shabu/hot pot restaurants in Boston that have a better, higher quality selection at a lower price. Frozen meats are something you have to order through your server and you're limited to 3 selections per order. They have a button you can press to grab your server's attention when you're ready to put in another order. As for the self-service bar of vegetables, noodles, frozen food and seafood... their selection is pretty "meh" as well. Not a good variety. Nothing really stood out except for bad fish balls. I had some fish balls that tasted old - either they were kept in the freezer for too long or sitting out in the AYCE bar for too long. Either way, it was utterly disgusting and I had to spit it out. It would be better if Shabro had fish tofu and jalapeno fish cakes. Everything was just so mediocre. They also automatically add 15% gratuity to your bill even if you only have a party of two which is kind of annoying. Service was pretty slow even though we were 1 of 2 tables in the entire restaurant. I can't imagine what it would be like if it was busy.
google avatar

Jenny W.

Yelp
price - a little cheaper than manna shabu meat - our favorite meats that we ordered several rounds of are the shabro beef boneless short rib, shabro pork belly and fish. The lamb was not very fatty so it was hard to chew after cooking vegetables - decent selection of fresh veggies, spinach, bok choy sides - no hot sides, shrimp was good, fish ball selection was very small. They ran out of ramen later in the night. service - slow at first, but then picked up.

Loc N.

Yelp
The food is good but service is really bad. We came yesterday in a group of 4. They arranged us in a room and nobody really came to check on us or even asked us if we want to order more meat. Eventually, we can only order 5 rounds of meat (3 dishes each round), which was not justified with what we paid for ($28+). Also, the weird thing is that when we asked the server about which sauce she would recommend us, she literally said "sorry I'm busy" and that was it. No recommendation or anything at all. And they automatically charged 15% tip on us. I don't know how they can charge that much tip with that bad services. Never come back to this place again!!
google avatar

Grace K.

Yelp
My husband and 2 friends came for lunch, and we all love this place. Great selection of veggies and meats to choose from. The service was great and we all like that the tables are quite spacious for our plates, sauce dishes and the hotpot. We've been here quite a few times before and always had a great experience, so I was surprised by the low stars. We will keep coming back here for sure.
google avatar

Denilio G.

Yelp
I cannot ever remember having to pay a 15% tip for a meal that I cooked on my own. The server automatically placed that on my ticket with only a party of 3. Moreover, the only thing she did was give us water and bring the broth that everything was heated in along with the meats we had. Frankly, this is overpriced for lunch ($23.99) for all you can eat!! The good thing about this restaurant is you get to go buffet style and pick your ingredients. By the way, there's a sign at the front door that says the lunch price is only $16.99 but they took advantage of us!
google avatar

Haley L.

Yelp
Everyone I knew told me good things about this place so I have visited. There is one pot for every person and you can choose one broth out of five. We chose huoguo and original broth. At the table, you can choose three meat choices out of about 9-10 kinds anytime you want. All the other ingredients were on the side for a self-serve. The buffet style self-serve consisted of variety of vegetables, seafood, salad, and noodles(rice noodle, ramen noodle, others). There's also ice cream for dessert which was okayyy. The service was good overall. They came and asked if we needed more meats before we asked. Also, there is a button at the every table (korean style), which was convenient. I did not know about this but there's some kind of discount that was going on so we got 20% off from the total which was about $10! Overall, it was great and I would go again!

Yelp
Overall, a really great choice for individual hot pot! This location in particular has a bad rep for customer service, and I have to say I can see why. They're not the friendliest people, but to be honest customer service doesn't bother me so much. They're not constantly at the table and everything else is self-serve, so that factor doesn't really affect this review. Their meat choices are small but very delicious and fresh. There are also a ton of self-serve additions! My favorites are the fish sticks; they're perfect with the House soup. A great thing about this place is that you can replace your broth with a new flavor anytime you'd like for an additional dollar. Definitely keep Shabro in your options for hot pot, especially with their affordable lunch prices!

Karen C.

Yelp
Do not go here. I walked inside and it smelled like rotten fish. I still decided to sit down and eat. The service wasn't the best but I can't blame they only server working. The broth itself had little flavor. $30 for 1 person. They had seafood layed out without being chilled no wonder it stunk up the place. And lastly they force a tip onto your bill. I understand for bigger parties but it was just 2 of us. 2 bites into my soup and I almost threw up from how bad it smelled... update. I got food poisoning
google avatar

Yelp
We love this place. We wonder why the one in Frisco closed so we made the trip out here. While it is rather expensive it doesn't nickel and dime you with stuff like 1.50 for a sauce bar like other hot pot places. The grab your own bar contains plenty in itself and that's where they get you. You fill up leaving little room for the delicious thinly sliced meats. Also the reason why we like it over other places is that each person gets their own hot pot.

Yelp
I apologize for writing a review because I went to this place after eating a light meal; so, I was not hungry to begin with. FOOD// It is All You Can Eat (AYCE) shabu shabu and I recall this place as the only one in DFW? Anyways, before I go anywhere, I don't think it is worth for dinner price, but definitely for lunch price. I had mala broth (aka spicy soup) and my mom got the original broth. The broth was made bland, I think, on purpose. I eat food normally bland than most people, but it was super bland. However, everything else was great. I'm little iffy about how the vegetables, seafood, etc are stored for sanitary problems, but it was still fine. I tried many sauces as I could, and found wasabi soy sauce and wasabi the perfect combination for me. I think brisket to be my personal favorite meat choice. Ice-cream... there was a hair; so, i don't know man.. ATMOSPHERE// This place is still under construction from spoon, I believe, but upstair area is for shabu shabu. SERVICE// First thing that the employee asked after sitting was "what do you want?" I was confused because she wasn't asking for water, but broth. It was my first time and without showing us the menu or pointing the list of broth and meat, just asked what we wanted. While asking, she flipped the sign with the list of meat and broth we can get to the other side, I am uncertain if she was trying to show to us and unintentionally flipped the other way or what. I didn't liked the experience from the beginning. Then, her friend came and she began talking how she doesn't like the job and stuff, which was very disappointing for customers to hear. This was happening in Korean, by the way. SERVICE, I gave 0 stars. SURROUNDINGS// It's weird because literally this side of complex is not-so-popular even though every where else in hmart complex is booming.

Yelp
DIETERS! This is the place to come eat healthy and still leave full and satisfied! I arrived during lunch time with a friend and was promptly seated. Shabro offers 9 (I'm pretty sure) varieties of meat that they bring three at a time, however during lunch time they only offer 5 (which is honestly fine by me I don't eat beef and all the good options were in the 5 that they offer). The Hotpots are all personal (so each person can pick and choose what they want in their own broths), and you can choose from a variety for 4 to 5 broths as to which one you want. Here is the best part, anything that you want (besides the meat) is at a buffet area. They have a VARIETY of vegetables (different types of mushrooms, leafy greens, lotus roots, bean sprouts, all the soup essentials), seafoods (crab, mussels, clams, fishballs, squid, octopus), noodles/dumplings (ramen, rice noodles, fresh noodles, dumpling wrappers, chicken/pork dumplings), tofus, boiled and raw eggs, and flavored rice balls (for the congee at the end). Then there is another buffet area for the sauces. I recommend the house special and spicy p...(I cant remember the name). Lastly for dessert they have a good six or seven ice cream flavors to choose from (they have GREEN TEA! YAY!) The service here was wonderful, there was never a time where we thought the waiter neglected us. Whenever they saw that we were halfway done with our meats, they would immediately ask if we wanted more. They also do a wonderful job explaining how the process works if you are new there. My only con for this place was the broth flavor itself. I didn't particularly enjoy it that much, both my friend and I had gotten the Chinese broth. Not much flavor, but from other people I have heard similar reviews as well for the other flavors. Honestly I do not mind as much because I ended up adding sauced from the bar in my soup and the unlimited veggies and meats variety made up for it for me. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
The worst food and service for a hot pot restaurant. The hateful female server made inappropriate comments to us and was very rude. The food smelled bad and had a off color. The worst thing was the server added her tip to the total. I refused to pay it. Will never go back.

Yelp
Good selection of veggies/seafood/noodles/sauce Extra thinly sliced meat Weak broth Alright pricing **long wait Just as other reviews suggest, long wait to be seated, to get meat refills, and to pay (seems this is unintentional and may be due to inadequate staffing) .

Yelp
Very depressing place - not sure what is the deal with the waitresses here - they are not friendly at all. No hi hello , no conversation at all. Not coming back at all .

Yelp
I'd recommend the #5 Chinese hot pot soup base, if you prefer pre-seasoned broth (herbs, light spice, actual flavor -- unlike the broths 1-4 which is bland but enough for you to build your own flavor with the sauce bar). I recommend meats the short rib, ribeye and pork belly! Other than that, no complaints really. Standard for a hotpot place. Looks aesthetic on the inside though, and quite spacious. Pro tip: My personal dipping sauce is made of chili oil + garlic!

Yelp
Mama Sue was awesome and we were surprised when a robot delivered some of our food! Try the corn cheese as a side it's amazing, we had 7 orders of the corn cheese.

Yelp
I am definitely not a fan here. This place offers all you can eat options for their hot pot. When we visited, we had bad service - we told our waiter it was our first time there, but she just gave a quick explanation and basically pointed to the menu. Maybe there was a language barrier, so I can give her benefit of the doubt here. We went during lunch time, and it didn't seem very busy at the time. It took a while for her to come back to take our orders, and we thought about ordering more afterwards, but she never came back to check on us, so we ended up not adding anything. The broth was very bland, although the meat tasted good. The dessert bar was not good at all - I didn't even like their matcha ice cream, my favorite dessert. They automatically add a gratuity of 15%, even if it's just for 2 people, which I was not pleased about. I recommend going elsewhere for hot pot.

Yelp
Horrible service horrible broth horrible food. Coming from an Asian background, I'm more patient with Asian owned restaurants but this place was unacceptable. Didn't understand a lick of what the server was saying. She didn't even ask for our drinks. We tried the house, Chinese and miso broth which were all bland af. I had to use some of the sauces they provided just to dress up my soup to make it half decent. I feel like the meat they gave we're as thin as paper. The seafood was probably sitting out at the buffet all day which concerns me, health wise. There were bugs flying around as well (most likely from the food going bad sitting out all day) We had no idea that they automatically take 15% tip for parties 5 or less and 18% for parties 6 or more (which is explained in Korean). I have never eaten at a place where they automatically take tip off of 4 people. Usually parties of 6 or more. Looking at their tip policy at first glance, is a bit confusing so I spoke with the only person who speaks English & suggested that maybe they could have it in English and Korean & he just sat there pointing at the English part that says "15% will be automatically added" rude af if you ask me. Anyway, don't eat here. You're better off googling or YouTubing recipes for hot pot at home. Grabbing some chik fil a as we speak & chik fil a never disappoints!

Yelp
So far, I have yet to find a good shabu shabu place in DFW area for the right price. Out of the ayce places in Carrolton, I've been to Shabro and Manna, and comparing the two, shabro is a whole tier below Manna. Starting wjth the broth- the house soup is the only one with any hint of flavor. The chicken broth was just water with zero hint of chicken in taste or smell. The miso broth was also very bland... you can see the miso but can't taste or smell it. Moving onto the meats, compared to Manna, only the pork cuts were good. They lacked fish, and their beef cuts, including short rib cuts, somehow managed to be tough even though they were cut paper thin. At Manna, there were more options for you to mix and match sauces and create your own masterpiece. This place gives pre-mixed watered down ponzu, wasabi, soy sauce, chili oil, and an oddly textured peanut sauce. The sesame oil was missing; there were no additional pepper flakes or garlic or chives for you to add. Additionally, we were given plastic small to-go sauce containers instead of actual sauce trays. The seafood and vegetable bar was ok. The crab and shrimp smelled extremely fishy. Last of all- I asked for a freaking empty bowl 3 times and no one brought it to me, and they still charged the 15% automatic gratuity. I shouldn't be forced to pay gratuity when they couldn't even provide me with an empty bowl. Most likely would not return again.

Yelp
Like this place more than other hotspots! Their service is great and everything is always fresh and restock on their buffet! - Came in for dinner on a busy Friday night and the staff was so quick in getting our tables and setting everything up for us. - I always get the Chinese broth since I like spice on everything and also adding more spice for the great heat on a cold weather. - Food: Now the meat is quite limited for 3 meat per table, but most of their meat are great and very delicious, no complains whatsoever, their buffet is always filled and amazingly fresh throughout the day! *Overall: I would always come back for another perfect hotpot weather!

Yelp
Ok, this restaurant is in dire need of a makeover in the worst way, but giving them 4 stars simply bc for $23.99 all you can eat is very reasonable, and the staff are extremely gracious. Our server (believe her name is "Suh") never made us feel bad for asking for refills, always enthusiastic, and there when we needed her. As for what to order, focus on the ribeye and round. Pork belly, brisket and others not so good. Wish them well and hope they succeed.

Yelp
The food was really good. You get your own hot pot per person. They have a good variety of add in and sides at the bar. The service was great. The host was very welcoming. However she did make a joke about us drinking too much water which was a little weird. Nothing crazy though. There wasn't too many people when I went but it's nice that they have the hot pot section upstairs and the bbq downstairs.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! It's comes with many vegetables seafood, tofu, sauces which is all self serve. 1. Choose your soup base: original house soup, miso, seafood, chicken, and Chinese hot pot "huoguo." 2. Choose your meat 3. Get your veggies!! 4. ENJOY YOUR FOOD! They also have ice cream. The flavors they have are green tea, strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla! (I recommend the green, it's super creamy and delicious!)

Yelp
Visited Shabro Shabu Shabu with friends for a week day dinner -- overall a bit underwhelmed by the atmosphere and quality, especially for the cost. Hot pot relies on fresh and quality ingredients. Unfortunately, I was left disappointed. Some veggies, like the enoki mushrooms, were a bit old and dehydrated. All varieties of fish balls tasted very off. The meat was cut extremely thinly -- I've never seen such thin cuts before for hot pot. Shabro Shabu Shabu has a decent but doesn't have an enormous selection of veggies. Their sauce bar was also missing a lot of staples. To their credit, they do offer a few fresh noodle options and the veggies do look to be clean and well washed. Still, for nearly $30, I expected more variety and better quality. The atmosphere was also strange -- like a really dim and outdated attic repurposed as a restaurant, yet the environment was not cozy at all. Service was friendly enough, but that's expected for a buffet-style hot pot. Note that 15% gratuity applies regardless of group size. I'm not mad that we ate here, but I can't say I would recommend this place to others. It's basic, no frills, but misses a few too many marks.
