Shake Shack 1700 Broadway - 53rd & 7th

How one of us spent 8 years in NYC and never ate at a Shake Shack is truly mind boggling! This location basically has nowhere to sit, so be prepared to carry out. Burgers are soooooo delicious. Let's repeat that - sooooo delicious. Fries are good, not great. The frozen hot chocolate milkshake special was ridiculous - so good it almost hurt (probably because we were drinking it too fast!) Don't make the same mistake one of us did. Don't skip Shake Shack!!

I love this burger a lot since I dont like pickels. But the pickled paprika is soo good! Its spicy and sour! Its sad that its just a seasonal burger. The cheese fries is also a great combo with the fries. On crowded day, its very hard to get a seat.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Shake Shack, and I must say it was an incredible experience! The Double Cheese Burger I ordered left me absolutely speechless.

Wow - shake Shack you have won my heart! I don't typically choose to eat fast food burgers but couldn't pass up the opportunity to experience Shake Shack while in NYC. I was astonished at how good a fast food burger could really be! The fries were nice and crisp and the hisbiscus caffeinated iced tea was a real treat. The only thing this location was disappointing on was the long line to access the self service stations, with nobody working a front cash until after we were through the line (and waited 30 mins). Traffic flow could be better as we got shouted at for standing in the doorway but did not know you had to go wait way on the other side to access the services stations. All in all, it was a great experience! Note that we did take the food back to our hotel as seating is limited to outdoors only, but it wasn't a huge impact on us!

Excellent Hamburger 👍🏻(as usual) You can seat outside in the sun and enjoy your meal. If you come around 13:00-14:00 expect a little wait time

Best in and our burger wanna be in the east coast featuring tourist favorite throat hurting greasy burgers and mostly cream and surgary milk shakes. It’s worth a try, but I’ve not visited a second time

After biking around Central Park, we decided to walk down 7th and see what was available to try for lunch. We saw Shake Shack and thought we'd give it a try. The first two doors we approached said "use the other door" and we eventually found our way inside. Immediately upon entering we saw four self-help ordering screens. Unfortunately, two of them didn't work and there was a line of people waiting to order. It took a while to get our orders placed, and then we waited for the food. The kitchen was visible and very busy! While we waited, the restaurant filled up with people who also ordered. It took a while for our food to be made, but given how busy they were I understood. Unfortunately, there was no indoor seating, so after our order arrived we ventured outside. There were many seats, but only a few had umbrellas and the sun was merciless. We were finally able to score a seat in the shade, and began eating. The burgers were fantastic, making it worth the wait! If you have some extra time, or if they aren't busy, it's worth a stop here.

We went to this Shake Shack on Sunday, June 2 in the early afternoon. We are seniors and wanted to order and pay as soon as possible as I was dehydrated and wanted a milkshake. the young man who took care of us, paid attention to what I said and responded that he would take care of it. He immediately made me a milkshake and we paid him. I thanked him but wasn't paying attention to his name. It is a pleasure to go to a local fast food place and get such good service. Of course, the milkshake was delicious as usual Thanks again

My family and I went here for early dinner yesterday. We got burgers, fries and my daughter had chicken. We all got different shakes and everything overall was very good but not great. Staff was busy and didn't seem eager to answer any questions. For whatever reason they were making everything for takeout anyways. Kiddos enjoyed a chocolate and a vanilla shake and were very happy. Wife and I shared a maple snickerdoodle. There were little clusters that were interesting to crunch on. Very tasty. The only complaint about my bacon and avocado burger is that it didn't have enough sauce. Seemed a little dry. Some mayo and more shake sauce would have made it ideal.

My 1000th review! I always wanted it to be a joyous one, but this one is anything but that. My office is nearby and I've always considered coming, however, there is always a lot of folks here and there are various other options in the area. On this day, I took a. Very late lunch and walked by and only saw a few people inside and decided to have my first experience here. Since nobody was waiting, I anticipated I would be next and stood there for a bit. Finally an employee noticed me but made no effort to walk towards the register. At the same time, I noticed the kiosks behind me and I asked if i needed to order via the kiosk. She told me I did and I proceeded to place my order. Only a few shorts minutes later, I turn my back and see two other people ordering from this same cashier-- I'm like WTH!? Why did she tell me to use the kiosk, but took these other two people! As I was waiting for my order, a seemingly homeless man enters and repeatedly asks and semi-demands that I get him a burger. I declined, but after multiple times of him asking I just decided to give him a few bucks. The workers are just standing there watching him, but didn't do anything. It's NYC, and it's normal for folks to panhandle, but maybe suggest he leave the premises. After giving him a few bucks, he decided he would help himself to someone else's order that was on the counter and left. I finally get my order and head back to my office, I noticed the fries had cheese of them, which I did not ask for and I didn't really care for. The burger was standardfare , but this $16 meal wasn't worth all the trouble. I think this will be my first and last visit to this Shake Shack location.

Everything was good. The shake was frosty. The hamburger tasted fresh from a cow tum tum. Place was crowded but made it work. Super yummy.

We came around 9pm, and we were happy with our experience. We had cheeseburgers and fries, and then decided to get a mini shake. It was all really good! It's just too bad everything is sold separately. We really liked the mini shakes, it was the perfect size for a sweet treat. The staff were pretty efficient. We didn't have to wait too long for our order. They kept everything pretty clean, even the outdoor seating. Would come back again!

Love Shake Shack! The SmokeShack burger is delicious - the crispy smoked bacon and the smashed patty with the melted cheese.... bomb dot com. My chief complaint about Shake Shack is the portion size - the burger is quite small (if you can eat a lot like me, you could probably finish 2 burgers if you were really hungry). In-N-Out is cheaper than Shake Shack across the board, and so far that reason, the comparison isn't exactly apples to apples. Because Shake Shack costs more, they should be using better ingredients which should technically result in a better tasting burger. And to me, it does taste better, as it should due to the higher cost. But that doesn't mean it's better than In-N-Out. So for all you comparing Shake Shack to In-N-Out... give it a rest. They both are special and good in their own regard.

Food is standard shake shack -- $8-10 for a small but decent burger, with two good veggie options; plus $6 for fries; plus $6-7 for a shake. The main issue is that the space is take out only and ALWAYS packed. You'll order at an iPad kiosk and then wait 20-30min for your food, which you have to pick up from the counter. If you're lucky, there will be ketchup in the dispenser and water in the urn, but don't count on it. Then you'll step outside and hover aggressively for a table to be some available and *pounce* on it. TLDR; if you want fast casual burgers and such, prepared to be STRESSED from the moment you arrive until you collapse at a table clutching your paper bag of fried food and custard.

Your standard shake shack. Came here on a Friday around dinner time - was really busy and waited a while for the food. Multiple pad self ordering stations inside as well as the traditional ordering cashier counter. Tried the PRIDE triple chocolate brownie shake - sinfully decadent lol

The location was in a good area and within walking distance from many hotels. They had computers to place orders on, but it was simple and easy to use. The payments were cashless. It was busy when we went, but we received our order pretty quickly. There was no inside seating, only outside. There was not bathroom. My cheeseburger and fries were delicious. The price is kind of high, but it was New York.

Food delivery through the shake shack app came an hour after I ordered and the food was freezing cold. To make matters worse there was a long black hair in my fries and I don't have black hair

I got the Hot Dog with cheese sauce and Cheese Fries. They added a lot of cheese to the Hot Dog, but barely any cheese on the Cheese Fries. There wasn't anything special on the hot dog, it was just a regular hot dog with melted cheese on top. You can add bacon if you wanted. updating an earlier review focusing on the overflowing trash containers and overall dirty plaza area: at the time the manager was apologetic and even sent a discount voucher. Well and good but the problems continue. Trash tornadoes are the rule. My building has asked for an on-site meeting via the local Community Board. We'll see if that ever happens; a Zoom meeting is being proposed instead.

Shake shack is always solid when it comes with to food. They have a formula. I wanted to highlight that this location has extremely helpful staff. There's indoor seating for waiting and outdoor seating for dining. With the weather warming up, it's perfect for a lunch in the city.

Shake Shack is a NYC Burger Chain loved by many. The prices have really gone up over the years so I don't go as frequently as I used to. If you don't get there when they open you may need to wait in line. I've always found their employees to be welcoming and efficient. It's a routine you learn that is typically the same from location to location. I like this location as it's not far from Central Park. Sometimes I take my food to the park unless I'm with my daughter. When we're together we dine in. My burger is always moist and prepared as I requested. I love the custard for desert too. Depending on the flavors available I enjoy their shake too. Naturally the fries are yumalicious! (My Word) When you're hungry for a burger see if there's a Shake Shack nearby. You won't be disappointed.

We're big fans of Shake Shack. Whenever we're in NYC we make it a point of eating at one at least once. That opportunity was last night for dinner. It was a three block walk over. Because of the pandemic there's one entrance and one exit. And one online pickup table. Maybe I was tired & hungry but it took what seemed like forever to get our order. 20 minutes. Our receipt time stamped 5:45pm. We sat down at 6:05pm out in the square. Hubby had the avocado bacon fried chicken sandwich and I had the Shack burger. One order of fries and one strawberry shake. We sat outside in the square. Near the online delivery area. So many delivery guys with their bikes. We're fully vaccinated so weren't too worried. More of a distraction. Both our sandwiches were lukewarm. The fries were crispy hot. The shake was cold but the whipped cream had dissolved into the shake. An average dining experience.

Unbelievable. How Stay away! Someone heisted their chairs. Only 8 chairs for the entire restaurant!

Not enough place to seat outside. Don't clean the tables.. the place is a mess. I wish they would not have all the garbage bins in the garden area..

Delicious burgers, crispy fries, and decadent milkshakes, what more could you ask for? This is my go to place when the fast food burger craving hits and it never lets me down. I also love checking out the new rotating items on the menu, currently they have a Korean-inspired chicken sandwich/fries and a black sugar milkshake. This was my first black sugar experience and I'm absolutely hooked to the nutty flavor thanks to this milkshake. My go to here is the shackburger with bacon. I'm not a big fan of their chicken items, the fried coating tends to just slip off so I'd recommend sticking to their burgers. This location only has outdoor seating so it's especially nice to dine here during the spring/summertime.

Service was quick and efficient and the staff were friendly. They have a public seating area with tables and chairs right outside the restaurant. Not to bash on this particular Shake Shack, but a complaint that I have for their newly released Korean gochujang burger was that it was nowhere near authentic. I was excited to give this burger and chicken bites a try on the first day it was released and I was greatly disappointed. The gochujang wasn't as strong as the real thing that you'd find in red tubs at Korean supermarkets. This burger was obviously catered to American palettes. Big rip off for $8 if you asked me. The chicken bites were somewhat better than the burger IMO. Would've been better if the sauce were actually mixed-in with the chicken rather than served on the side. But still not close to authentic. Want more authentic tasting Korean food (Korean fried chicken included)? Head on down a couple of subway stops to Koreatown or to Flushing/ Bayside/ Murray Hill.

Burgers are SOOO good that I wanted to order a second. Top 3 burgers of my life. Worth the wait.

I'm down with the Shake Shack. Those burgers are terrific. I hear that the novelty wears off quickly for some people; not for me. When I want a double cheeseburger in Midtown, Shake Shack has proven to be reliable, consistent, and delicious. Smash burgers are the move here. Yes, you can get the famous shroom burger, or even the shroom+smash burger. I've tried the chicken nuggets (passable) and the fries (decent). It's nice to have a side with your sandwich but the burger itself is what I care about. While the city's best independent smash burger outlets are located downtown (I'm looking at you, Smashed, 7th Street Burger), Shake Shack does the trick in every neighborhood. I'm grateful to have this one so close by. Lord knows I'll be back.

Fast service. Friendly, outside of the rush. Missing items and condiments depending on time of day. Some more attentive and friendly than others. The food was delicious, especially the Tiramisu Shake!

I got the shack burger and crinkle cut fries. It was good but just like any other high-end fast food burger. If we're comparing shake shack to In-n-Out, In-n-Out is way better no question.

This location did a great job with delivery! I ordered and it arrived on time and was hot. They got my order correct and everything was packed neatly (except napkins thrown in lol). I ordered the 10pc chicken nuggets, a smoke shack burger, and bacon cheese fries. Bacon cheese fries $5.09. 10pc chicken bites $6.99, and smoke shack double burger $10.29. Burger was delicious! Little bit of spice. Melted cheese. Crispy bacon. Sooo good! Prices are fair. Everything was cooked perfect. Bacon was great. The cheese and bacon came separate from fries so they weren't soggy. I got more than 10 nuggets so that made my night! Crispy white meat. Nice flavor. Dipping sauces are in a container. Not a fan of their shake shack sauce. Definitely like this location. Will order from them again! Definitely recommend! :)

This shake shack is incredibly lame. DO NOT COME HERE, takeout only and slow AF. They force you to order via kiosk and while there are tables outside, they're all filthy with only a few umbrellas

I wanted to grab something quickly before my meeting so I headed here thinking it would be quick. NOT. The wait was so long and completely crowded. I felt like my food was just thrown together and missing cheese on my cheeseburger. So I had to get back into line to get it. I tried to get a seat which was impossible so I ended up eating on the train. Shake Shack is everywhere so you'd be better off going to another location because this one is just not worth the headache.

This location is a menace to the neighborhood. There are Shake Shack bags for a block in every direction. Why don't they provide trash cans?

Small location in a heavily foot trafficked area. Fortunately, Shake Shack picked a spot that's primed for good weather, with so much seating outside. I, however, stopped in here pre-Broadway show to have some dinner and felt the only option was to eat outside in 40-degree weather because the interior is so small. Despite my unyielding love for Shake Shack, I almost opted against eating here because I walked by and it looked so busy. However, nothing else in the area sounded appetizing, so I scuddled inside. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't as busy as I thought, there were a bunch of people huddled by the computer orders, but, that was is, I was next up. Ordering was seemless and I got the text that my order was ready well before it actually was, I suppose that's to accommodate for people waiting outside because there isn't much space inside to stand.

Note: I'm catching up on reviews and got food from this location last week before the order was given for all restaurants to do take-out/delivery only. I wanted a late night snack so was happy to find this location close to Times Square. It is a small location with limited seating inside and tables outside. The menu and service are the same as other locations, no complaints! I've had Shake Shack burgers many times before which are great, but this time I decided to try the Chick'n Shack. The chicken was thick, juicy and the batter (more like fine panko bread crumbs than flour) was crunchy. I liked that there was a lot of flavorful pickles vs the 2 or 3 that other competitors put in. The shredded lettuce makes it easier to eat without worry of biting and pulling out a big piece of lettuce. It is a bit of a messy burger with a lot of mayo that tends to ooze out of the bun. The burgers rightfully get the most attention, but give the chicken a try. Next time I'll have a hard time choosing between a burger or the chicken!

New location that open today, December 26. Note: there is no special flavor concrete at this location. There are 2 doors: 1 for entrance and 1 for exit. This location may be small though it's pretty quick. There are 4 kiosks and 2 cashier registers to order food from. There are 2 tables on the right side and 1 table in the back to sit. There are more tables in the square if you need seats and tables. The cashier was figuring out how I tried the cookie crumble milkshake and a Shroom Burger (the only non-meat option). Not a vegetarian, though I like their portabello mushroom with cheese on the bun the best. The milkshake was a bit sweet for me though I haven't had a milkshake craving in a while. It was good until I had enough. Happy eating!

I love Shake Shack and this new location is so dangerous to have near the office. Affordable fresh burgers and other American staples like chicken bites, frozen custards, fries, hot dogs. Can't go wrong with a cheeseburger and side of cheesy fries. The lettuce wrap option here is great, as the lettuce is an impressive sized piece which does actually make it work like a wrap. All in all, solid weekday lunch option

Ordered for pick up on the app and food was ready super quick - it quoted us 15 minutes from the time we ordered and it was definitely ready by the time we arrived. The burgers were great - and I appreciate them throwing in a few packets of ketchup without me asking for it in the app. They did forget our straws for the shakes, so that was kind of awkward. But pick up is super easy - they put tables outside baring people from entering and they bring the food out to you once you arrive for pick up. We tried their new brown sugar vanilla shake and it was SO sweet. WAY too sweet. It was so sweet that X couldn't drink more than half and he is notorious for loving sweet things.

When a place that was once fantastic suddenly becomes awful, it is tragic. Before, Shake Shack offers excellent cuisine and service. I no longer feel secure visiting because the food is no longer the same, the flavors are weak, the service has gotten incredibly slow, and the atmosphere is irritating. Numerous thugs are present fairly close to the area; some of them are rowdy consumers. I can't believe how this place rejected us. My friends and I used to come here earlier and place takeout or dine-in orders. I think many people used to like visiting this location, so I hope it comes to life again.

Ordered through Uber eats and was rather cold - not the best. Ordered the shroomburger and fries would definitely walk to the store next time

Love shake shack but don't love this location. This is the second time they didn't add the onions I ordered on my shack burger. Probably won't come to this location moving forward even though it's the closest to my apt. Sad

Shake shack never disappoints! Conveniently located within 7 min walk from the south central park entrance. We grabbed foods here and eat at Central Park! Highly recommend the combo!! The buns are always so soft and chewy here

5.2/10 It seems all shake shack specialty items end up very disappointing; chicken sandwich had a very unique crisp to it (good), something close to soda pops in your mouth, but is very dry; bun is decent, but the meat is dreadful; pumpkin shake far too sweet, but tasted decent; a good amount of pumpkin flavor, but the sweetness really washed it out; spicy cheese fries were very subpar; just cayenne as the spice and the standard cheese; grilled cheese was wasn't nearly as bad as it looked, but cheese was very average; bun was toasted and buttered well, but perhaps pressed too hard??; chicken bites were average, could compare to those of chick fil a

Skip the french fries. Crinkle cut is by far the worst shape of french fries. Shakes are yummy but very thick and impossible to drink with a straw. Easily shareable for two. Hot dogs are great. Surprisingly affordable for NYC. This location is exceptionally small - like 6 seats total and the rest of the room is for standing around waiting for your order. There is a seating area outside if the weather is decent. I don't necessarily understand being a rabid fan of the place, but you should feel zero-guilt about eating here. It's delicious.

I love Shake Shack. It is usually a reliable good burger with the most amazing buns. However, this location is not the place to get Shake Shack. I know it's in midtown and they have to contend with all the tourist but they should be able to maintain the standard. Will not eat at this location again.

Ordered a double cheese burger with lettuce tomato and french fries. Pros: Fast, more meat, very hamburger, looks no worse than Mcdonald's. Cons: Everytime I have Shake Shack, I feel delicious at the first time and then after the meal I feel that I can not recall the delicious flavor.o

First timer here at a Shake Shack. This location was just a short walk from our hotel. The kiosk ordering system was easy enough to navigate through. Prices just a bit higher than Hawaii for fast food but I'd say the quality was a little better. Tasty burger, crisp on the outside, medium well on the inside, melted cheese, with fresh lettuce and tomato, and a dab of some kind of sauce - needed more ketchup though. Crinkle cut fries were excellent and so was the chocolate shake. Without my asking, they gave an ample amount of ketchup packs and napkins. Would've been a hit if the guy handing out the order said something like "Thank you, enjoy." Ah well, New York.

I can't believe there is no indoor seating here. We had to eat our burgers standing outside in the cold. AVOID THIS HORRIBLE PLACE.

Another good fast food chain located in Midtown .This place is cool and across from the HOPE sculpture so tourist will find the place. But it still bigger than the 8th Avenue restaurant, 2,000 square feet, has a Mezzanine level and there is seating inside and outside too, suppository 150 seats inside. Shake Shack shares the ground flood to the 1700 tower with Oceana Poke, Starbucks and Pret A Manger. It sports the same Menu as the other New York Shake Shacks.

Can't go wrong with Shake Shack! I ordered delivery from the app, and it came right on time! Everything was on point. I'd recommend checking out Shake Shack if you've never had it before. Everything is good except for the price probably. Having said that though, in my opinion, In-N-Out is WAY better and wins hands down! Shake Shack is more of a "fancy burger place" and In-N-Out is a cheap and tasty fast food. The burgers at In-N-Out are large and are more like a normal burger, and the fries are much better too.

Doesn't make sense to order ahead, long wait regardless. Waited 50 minutes for 2 burgers, that they told me wasn't ready. Turns out it was, they forgot, and then I had to wait for them to remake me food. Food was fine as usual.

We really enjoyed our burgers and cheese fries. Better than in & out for all of you West coast people
