Funny how I usually pass Shake Shack on my way to Rodeo drive without even stopping to taste their delicious shakes. Anyway, I decided to do my stomach some justice cos it was rambling from hunger and my oh my did I have the best meal of my life…just kidding 😀 I had the BBQ cheese fries + burger +vanilla shake …yummy 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Not a bad burger, but not sure what all the hype is about. For the money I would rather have a Whataburger. I will say the service was good and they did seem to really care. This was also downtown LA so that did weigh on the review. Sorry but Cali sucks.

Food was fresh and everything tasted delicious. Came out fast too Multiple staff at location offered polite assistance and advice while we were ordering Restaurant was clean and comfortable. Overall a great first experience. Sincere commendation to the staff in this location

Ingrid is a disgruntled employee. She screamed at me. This prompted a female security officer to proceed to stand up and go directly behind me with her hand on her mace. She continued this aggressive behavior until I left. I spoke with the manager while in the store and explained I have come in here many times, I have never disrespected the staff here, and have always enjoyed coming here. Imagine asking someone to speak to you with respect, because you feel the tone and way you are being talked to is disrespectful. So you politely ask to be spoken to more respectfully. And the response is being screamed at. After this encounter I will not be coming back here. Mind you I used to eat here every couple days! I always pay cash, and I’ve never had an issue. I was refused my receipt upon request and even offered to pay extra to correct my order. The manager corrected the issue but made to sure to downplay the issue and act like I was out of line. Both managers put the blame on the stress of working downtown. When I returned for a refund the other manager gave me my refund. He said “I rounded up your change, I know you need it” In a tone I perceived as condescending. As if to insulate I was poor and was making up an excuse for a refund. Absolutely unacceptable behavior from the female security, the employee, and the manager. Do better shake shack, hire professional security and a new manager who has humanity left in them. I’ve seen how he interacts with the homeless, disgraceful.

I’ll put aside the paradox of Shake Shack, in that it’s quite delicious, but eye-wateringly overpriced. That being said, this location is surprisingly clean and well maintained, given its location in the heart of a downtown area. They encourage ordering at the digital kiosks or via their app, but the staff is still approachable if you need anything. This last time I came the burger was great, the fries were well done (at my request) to perfection, and it was overall a pleasant lunch stop.

Ate dinner here with my family while on vacation. The staff were very friendly and were able to take our orders without a problem. The food when it came out both looked great and tasted great. It was my first time trying shake shack and needless to say, I was not disappointed at all.

First time to this location, it’s in the cleaner side outside, not too many homeless, lots of tourists, street and structure parking available. Very large unaided lots of seating. Very clean. Friendly staff and service. Did not wait long. Good size menu, alcohol is served as well, fair prices. What you expect at shake shack. Will return. And recommend

It's really crazy that I live right around the corner and this is my first time actually dining in. I usually do takeout, so this experience was very delightful and insightful. I will definitely be doing more dine in experience. I just wanna give a big shout out to Sean, he was such a sweetheart! He was very welcoming and passionate at what he does! He made he asked every customer how their experience was, and had a great vibe to him. He's also very funny :) Food? Never any complaints. Ambiance? It's very neat! I was actually very impressed with the security guard! I didn't get her name, but she was standing on business! She's so friendly, but the second someone homeless tries to enter- she's ready ready! That's always been a big reason why I've been scared to dine in at any restaurant in DTLA. So now I know I'm protected.

Shake shack DTLA is the only location I have been to, but it's a great spot to grab lunch whether you're dining in or taking your food to go. I've never had any issues or missing items with my online orders and the workers here are on top of it and always polite. The restaurant itself is very clean and organized which is an accomplishment that many restaurants in the same area have a difficult time achieving. The burgers and French fries are always good but I also recommend you give their chicken bites a try especially if you like chic fil a nuggets. I'm currently obsessed with their delicious CHERRY BERRY POMEGRANATE LEMONADE! They have other yummy lemonade/drink options too, but that one is the best in my opinion.

I stay in Oklahoma, the closest I got to a Shake Shack was seeing their stuff on blogs. My other hometown, Dallas, got a Shake Shack a couple years back. I made a trip to LA, this was in the area during an afternoon stroll, I had to stop by after all of this time. I got the Korean BBQ Burger. They give you the option to sub for a veggie patty & that's exactly what I did. Outside of the angus beef, it comes with cheese, crispy sweet onions, fresh scallions & Korean BBQ sauce. The sauce was very subtle. I added pickles to my burger to give it something extra. The burger was for a limited time. They also had a Korean style Fried Chicken sandwich & Spicy BBQ Korean Fries. I wanted a shake so bad, I didn't have the stomach room for it. It was the Strawberry Frosted Donut Shake that made me almost not care the room I didn't have for it.

I ordered off Ubereats because I picked up a virus from the airport and was holed up in my hotel room. However, my food arrived piping hot, which is rare with food delivery, so I was already impressed. The cheese fries were so. freakin. good. 10/10 and way better than In-n-out!! The burger was also great and tasted very fresh. I ended up getting in-n-out later on for the true "California experience" and it was terrible, Shake Shack was hands down better and more worth the money in every way. I can't wait to try them again.

The setup is a bit different, the entrance is not off of the main street, it's on the side. Parking is tough to find in this area. Multiple one way streets surround the area. This was my 2nd time trying Shake Shack, and it's actually pretty good. I ordered the avocado bacon burger and a maple snickerdoodle shake. Both were very delicious. Price wise it is a bit pricey. I paid about $19 for the two. I feel like if it's going to be that much I should at least have my order taken by someone instead of doing everything myself. Then the iPad asks if you would like to tip lol This visit was definitely better than my first experience. Thank you. I recommend trying the limited edition shake! It tasted like cinnamon cookies ;)

Shake shack is pretty yummy! I love their seasonal items such as the Korean inspired burger and fries. The shake shack burger is great and whenever I get the fries, I always have to get the cheese sauce with it because it's just so yummy together. I also got the peaches and cream shake here and that was also very good!

Shake Shack is probably my favorite burger place. The Shack Stack, my personal favorite, stands out with its perfectly cooked patty and the crunchy deep fried portobello mushroom stuffed with gooey cheese. The French fries are always great. The highlight, however, was the Not Milk vegan chocolate shake. This shake was creamy and indulgent without the dairy, perfect for those looking for plant-based options. I'm not vegan, myself, but I do like trying new things and I was impressed. It could almost pass for the real thing if you didn't say anything.

You want a good burger, you can always count on shake shack to come through. I'm an LA native so it will never be better than in-n-out haha But it definitely tastes good but I wish the portions were a bit bigger. It always leaves hungry. Fries are mid but the shakes are top shelf. Dtla location is a bit busy and kind of loud. Most of the time it's packed due to all the pick up orders from Uber eats and door dash. Service is always great and they take care of your order as fast as they can

I really don't understand how long shake shack has been in business. It's not a terrible burger chain, but it's definitely not the best. Especially for the price point. First the crinkle cut fries are total failure. No crunch, lacking salt and soggy. For the burger I purchased a double smokeshack burger (angus beef, cheese, bacon,chopped cherry peppers and shack sauce) the beef patty was actual delicious but that's as far as the tastiness goes. As all the ingredients just didn't mesh well and the size was very small. Unfortunately the star of the show was the black and white shake ( fudge sauce mixed in vanilla frozen custard) its was good but still nothing to recommend to your people. It's just ok, I'd recommend "For The Win" for a better burger at that price point.

Man oh man, shake shack! I am writing this review based on location compared to the other location I have had. I have had Downtown LA & Emeryville shake shack; Downtown LA being my first time having it. The location itself wasn't the best nor the prettiest; it's downtown LA. Parking is iffy & the walk to there is iffy, and for someone who isn't from the area, you feel like you gotta keep yo head on a swivel. Regardless, I'm rating based off of the food, service, & cleanliness. The food was amazing! As someone who has burgers often from places like in-n-out to five guys to some real nice home cooked burgers, this place has got IT. I've also never been a crinkle cut fry kinda guy. Hated them actually. Until I've had them from here. Perfectly salted & crispy crunchiness on the outside, and that soft inside; ouwee. I'm not a vegan, BUT I have been, for a strong 6ish months, so I decided to try their vegan chocolate shake, and OH MY F-ing GOD that SH!T was FiRE ! The table my girl & I sat at was clean; no complaints there. The bathroom needed a code, which makes sense because well.. downtown LA. The bathrooms were clean too! Hell, even their tap water tasted pretty good and was cold and crisp, without ice! Unfortunately I do not live anywhere near here, but once I'm back in LA, ooouuuweee, they gon see me up in there again!

This is my first time eating at a Shake Shack ever! I know, I know, crazy right? So I got the roadside double with some spicy cheese fries and a cookies and cream shake! The burger itself was pretty decent, but the fries?????? Life changing! Those spicy cheese fries were to die for. I will literally come to shake shack just to eat like 3 orders of those. The cookies and cream shake was good as well! The service was fast and the staff were very friendly!

First time my daughter and I come into Shake shack hoping to experience good customer service And the cashier literally ignored us and helped the man next to us when we had been standing there for the last 10 minutes Will Not be coming back. Never felt so disrespected and ignored in my life

It was my first time having shake shack and it was really good. To be honest, the prices are really expensive for a thin burger. However, I think it's a place you need to try at least once. It's a self order kiosk so I didn't talk to the workers but it was confusing and wished someone would visit helped. Indoors is decently clean and lots of seating.

The food is great. Staff is friendly. Place does fill up during lunch and dinner time. Not great for large groups. If its your first time here- definitely try the Shackstack burger.

I just ove the burgers here. I mean the burgers here always hits the spot for a burger fix. I also love the fries on this place

The Birthday Boy requested Shake Shack. Parking of course is a bit hard in LA but we were able to find a open meter parking. Thank goodness. Walked about a block. Came around 3 pm Saturday afternoon. It was a full house but we were able to get a seat right away. Went to the counter and ordered our burgers & shakes. Service was good & food came out within a timely manner. Only issue was we were charged for a sandwich we didn't order. Realized that after we saw our receipt and was waiting on our food. Associate refunded the extra charge but still said they'll give us that extra burger mistakenly rang up. After we got our food. We ended up getting an extra burger we too didn't order. Got the Yummy Spicy Bacon Burger protein style, not overly spicy, great kick of spice, ShackBurgers & bacon cheese fries. My kids couldn't stop eating the fries! Burgers are good but on the smaller side. Fries are so yum & extra crispy. Really delicious fries. Can't seem to stop putting one in our mouth. Shakes are delicious. Great dessert end cap to a delicious meal. Sodas are refillable, just have to ask associate On the counter to refill for you. Restroom must need a code to enter which is given on bottom of the receipt. Lots of seatings with open air high ceiling restaurant.

We got 4 burgers 1 fry 1 Triple Chocolate Shake. The Triple Chocolate Shake is way to rich. The Bacon Cheeseburger wasn't good I rather get a Burger from In-n-Out. The Person that took our order was mean. Though the place looked cool with the glass walls.

Shake Shack is decent. It's something I would recommend a person to try but I wouldn't visit unless a friend wants to go Shroom Burger- my most liked menu item. The crispy mushroom is a great combo with the soft bread of the burger. The cheese is overwhelming in my opinion and I usually have to take if off my burger with each bite but my co workers loved it. This pricey little burger fills me up but its not craved often Fries- delishhh and brings back memories of my child hood. so perfectly crispy on the ouside, salty and soft on the inside Shakes- they're decent. worth the try but wouldn't get again

$17 for a shroom burger + fries. They've removed all cashiers, so you can forget about customizations or substitutions. The employees running around clearly hate their job (and the fact that they have to work in DTLA - understandable). This place frequently guarded by screaming hobos does not deserve your business over far better (and/or far cheaper) alternative.

Great service from the team especially from the black guy at the register with curly hair he was super friendly and helpful! Food was good and came out in a timely manner.

Service was quick. It's a self order kiosk. Ordered an avocado bacon chicken sandwich and a double meat burger. Had the strawberry lemonade. Ordered the regular crinkle cut fries and the spicy Korean bbq fries. The Korean bbq that came with the fries tasted similar to a bulgogi sauce so it was okay but the seasoning on those fries were good. The bathroom has a pin so ask front for it. Place was semi clean.

This was the worst attempt at food assemblage of any Shake Shack I have ever been to and the burger was awful. No idea how it could differ so drastically from other locations but it was sloppy and tasteless.

In fact I always have thought of trying Shake Shake burger after I heard they are one of the best in town ,last night I was around the downtown area and decided to try their restaurant. I ordered their signature burger -The ShackBurger- while my nephew ordered the double patties burger . Both burgers were greasy and tasted way below average. Staff were good for a fast food restaurant. I think there are way much kore better burger places in LA that puts Shake Shake in the bottom of rating.

I wish I had the person's name who helped us this evening! She was so incredibly next level kind. We came in at 2 minutes to closing (I would hate people like us normally, we were just late coming from a performance at the Dolby theatre). Anyways this girl was so sweet to us. Their machines close when their store does so she explained I would have to order quickly. I did so as fast as I could and got in my order but I did it so quickly I only put it one meal for two of us. I also only was able to put in the default tip as I was trying to race the clock (I really really regret that but didn't have any cash on me to add!) Not only did the girl come over, apologize for something she had no control over, but she also gave us a drink because we didn't have a chance to order one and told us she made the hamburger herself. I would love it if you could recognize her awesome attitude and for helping us in such a nice way when I bet she wanted to get out of there too, it being so late. My wife and I were very grateful and the food was delicious. Oh and the specially made hamburger was incredible! Thank you thank you thank you from both of us!

Finally got to try Shake Shack and now I can add another of my opinions into the whole regional burger ranking bracket (you know, the debate between which is better: In-N-Out, White Castle, etc). This was right next to the lucky free street parking that we got and service was friendly and efficient. Restaurant is clean, well stocked with utensils and condiments, and has a nice modern look. Cashier was very friendly and helpful. Seeing that they were having their Holiday Shakes & their Hot Ones collaboration, we had to order these! We got the: 1) Hot Ones Bacon Cheeseburger: -It's a 100% Angus beef burger with their collaborative Hot Ones Spicy Shack Sauce, applewood smoked bacon, and Monterey Jack cheese on a potato bun. -I mean it's not a bad burger per se. Tastes pretty good, and the Hot Ones sauce actually has a pretty good kick to it with some afterburn (but it's not impossibly spicy) and this goes great with the slightly melted Monterey Jack cheese, but honestly, it just seemed like a regular burger to me. -It doesn't warrant the premium price that comes with the order. -The burger patty itself is just alright, not super thick and not really that juicy either (definitely not dry, but it's just okay). No char or smoky flavor to it. Bacon was in small slices and were a bit fatty. Not really that crispy. -The potato bun itself was a bit flattened and honestly just looked like something you can get at a typical supermarket. 2) Hot Ones Bacon & Cheese Fries: -It's crinkle cut fries topped with their cheese sauce with some pepper flakes on top. They also serve this with a side of their Hot Ones Spicy Shack Sauce. -The best part of this was the extra side of Hot Ones sauce since we dunked our burger in this and used the remaining sauce on another meal that we had later on in the day. -Fries were okay in general. Nothing too much to write home about. 3) Peppermint Chocolate Shake: -One of their holiday seasonal shakes! Comes with some whipped cream and festive sprinkles. -Very thick and rich shake that's plenty sweet on its own. No need to make this one malted! -Honestly it was not too bad when I was first drinking it, but as we were finishing it, it became way, way too sweet and we just had to toss it out. Potentially would be better if I diluted it with milk taking it back home, but this is definitely a shake for those with a sweet tooth! Altogether, this was almost $30 and not worth the price. Since there's not that many Shake Shacks around me in general, I don't think I'd go out of my way to get any, but I can at least say that I've tried their food at least once.

Had lunch at this location and also Shake Shack for the first time. I ordered the vege burger, fries, and a unsweetened iced tea! The food was great and the employees were very friendly and courteous. Had lunch on the patio, and it was a very pleasant experience.

Came here for a late night bite before they closed and the burgers , shakes, and fries are consistently delicious! I highly recommend the shake stack which comes with a deep fried portobello mushroom with melted cheese inside on top of a burger patty.

You honestly can't go wrong with Shake Shack. I feel no qualms eating a double burger and I'm normally one who gravitates towards the healthier side Of the culinary spectrum. This time the kitchen made an error and gave us regular fries when we ordered cheese fries. Within moments of letting them know we were handed cheese fries and got to keep the regular fries. Double yum.

For those who prefer reality vs Fantasy this location is For You. And for those who Prefer 'Attitudes' and Arrogance This is not for you. Shake Shack Had a vision both culinary and Social upward mobility. Yes this Is in the 'Heart' of DTLA providing Employment and Empowerment. With an excellent DIVERSE staff Delivering the BEST BURGER ON THE BLOCK!!! Thank you franchisee For seeing past the SOCIAL INEQUITY of the area and investing in a Positive future for the HOOD! And let's just say that burger with Real Krispy bacon fresh tomatoes American American cheese and Juicy perfectly cooked krispy edged Burgers are TDF. To Die For. Stop Frontin' as we say in NYC. This Burger BANGS!!! Hold on wait a minute those Crinkle Cut Fries though, HOT SALTED with REAL BACON BITS and REAL AMERICAN MELTED cheese. So happy they offer a non dairy custard option! The service felt a little slow on a Friday night. I was really surprised for how clean it was inside and outside for being in DTLA. It's nice that they have a kiosk to order from so there's typically not really a line.

Food was excellent. I had the Smoke Burger along with fries and a chocolate malt shake. Actually, I got the spicy fries which I wouldn't again. They were too spicy and the spice was created with by shaking a spice powder into the fries. I didn't have an option to remove the spice once ordered as it was a spicy dipping sauce. Anyway, I'm taking away stars for other reasons. Once is the area outside. I work in DTLA which is becoming a disaster. There were a lot of bums outside the store just hanging out on the sidewalk. One would need to be cautious visiting after dark. My second gripe is the fact that they use only a kiosk ordering system or at least that's what happened to me. I walked in and there was an employee behind the counter. I kept waiting for him to step up to take my order. Eventually he just walked away and I realized I had to order myself on the kiosk. Ordering from the kiosk should be an option and not a requirement. Bring back customer service who can help customers decide what to order and to customize their orders.

I rated it a 5 because prior to my visit today I (my second to this location) I'd been to your Hollywood Blvd. location twice and raved about the burgers. This time I took my sister who hadn't been to Shake Shack before. I was very disappointed that on either of our burgers there was no Shake Shack sauce on them. I think for the $38.14 we should've received your delicious proprietary sauce which is included. Possibly a new employee was making them, maybe they ran out of sauce? I'm sad to have experienced this folly after having had such great burgers at your Hollywood store. I'll possibly go the your Bunker Hill location next time and ask before I order "Do you have sause at this location?" Thank you for letting me vent (-;

My fries were somehow both hard and undercooked at the same time? Probably old, which is disappointing given the price. They didn't have ranch either. I tried the Korean chicken sandwich, but I would just stick with the classic. The increased price doesn't justify the battery there sauce. Overall, it gave school lunch vibes. Not a good thing for a $20.00 meal.

I live about 100 feet away from this location so i eat here a lot purely out of convenience. I use their app to order and when it tells me my foods ready for pick up, i walk over to their "walk up window", wait a few minutes for someone to notice me and then collect my food and leave. I noticed they were having a free delivery promo with the code "Getshack". I decided i was feeling a little lazy so i had my food delivered this time. I ordered a double shack, add onions and fries with a side of shack sauce. Received my order in about 20 minutes. I opened up the containers and saw that my burger was just a double cheeseburger... no lettuce, tomatoes or onions. Since I'm only 100 feet away, i decided to take the food back and ask them to remake it. I also planned on asking for a refund on their bogus $1.36 "service fee" for taking a delivery order. I spoke to a cashier and told her what happened, she said they'll remake it and issue me a refund for the service fee. I wasn't given another receipt or a number or anything... so i sat at a table nearby and waited. I waited about 20 minutes before i walked up and asked if my food was ready yet. They then proceed to walk over to the delivery pick up window and grab my order. I asked about the service fee refund and they grabbed the manager Paulina. Paulina said that all refunds need to go through corporate and that she had requested my service fee to be refunded. I was told that i would automatically see the refund in my statements in 3-5 days. Nothing was given to me to confirm this. No receipt, not confirmation number-nothing. When i asked about it further she said she could give me coupons if that's what i wanted ‍ i said no thanks, just the refund please. This review is honestly just to keep Paulina accountable. Let's see if my refund comes in. I understand it's only $1.36 but this location ALWAYS messes up my orders... they probably owe me over $100 in messed up orders. I've emailed support and given feedback on the app but I've never received a follow up or any form of customer service. Let's see if it'll be any different this time around. Attached my receipt showing order number and the business card Paulina handed me.

I never take this joint for granted, I'm always happy to see Shake Shack in my city giving people smiles.

The place it's so nice and the people era nice and friendly, The burgers are so good.I'm really recomendable this place.

Quick stop to eat while in downtown LA. Went on. Friday around 2:30. No line. Open to eat inside - tables designated to eat 6 feet away from each party. Bathrooms and tables were clean. We ordered the chicken sandwich and the cheeseburger with a side of cheese fries... and a chocolate vanilla shake and cookies n creme shake. Chicken sandwich was really good - perfect amount t of crisp and the bun was soft and buttery. Loved the combo with the cheese fries. Picture nacho cheese on fries. Simplicity at its best! Cheeseburger was juicy and perfect amount. Not too big, not too small. Shakes were awesome too! Can't go wrong here!

Why does the app frequently not work AND you don't accept Apple Pay. We tried calling and no one answered so we assumed it was closed due to Google. But when I walked my dog I saw that Shake Shack was open. I didn't have my wallet with me but I had my phone with Apple Pay. The curbside staff said I couldn't order curbside without my card. So I went home to collect my wallet and returned to Shake Shack to place an order. But while waiting for my order I noticed the screen with orders showed the have web orders too. Imagine my surprise when I went online and ordered a drink! It was ready almost immediately. I had to make two trips because the first curbside hit told me if I couldn't order on app I'd have to order through them in person. But that was mot true. I'm upset that they didn't recommend the website which took seconds to place an order. To make matters worse, we prepare to eat and the Ketchup packets are grimy and sticky. They grossed me out and required both me and my husband scrub our hands. I wan to give zero stars for this horrible experience but luckily this doesn't happen often. But it's only three stars because the prices we paid is ridiculous to have to put up with this hot mess of faulty apps and grimy slimy ketchup packets

One of the best vege burgers I've had! It was so delicious!! I was recently in NYC and saw them everywhere, including Grand Central Station, but unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to visit. So happy to have gone to this location! Also, they had Abita root beer from Louisiana! I highly recommend this place. Thank you!

Forgot to say gluten free bun after ordering and then they gave me a gluten free burger for free after I already got the regular bun burger. Not much more to say. Shake shack over everything one love (Gave the regular bun burger to a homeless man so everybody wins - more life)

Can never go wrong with burgers and fries! Can't say anything bad about this place. Serves your typical smash burger and fries. I love their cheese fries in particular!

We were going to the Orpheum for a show and wanted to find a place where we could grab food before the concert. We all got sandwiches that were good as well as fries and a drink. We were in and out fairly quickly, all thought our dinner was okay and would probably explore other restaurants next time we go to a show and want to grab dinner or lunch before the show.
