I ordered online to the wrong Shake Shack and they were super kind about it. Made me a new order even though it was after closing time. I even told them I don't mind eating the $10 because it was my mistake in the first place, but they insisted. Great staff!

Food is expensive - four cheeseburgers and three fries was $42! Liked the salt and pepper on the patty. Cashier and server were NOT courteous though. I recommend at those prices and lack of manners that you spend your hard earned $$$ where you are appreciated. I can’t recommend this location.

I stopped in to this Shake Shack location today and ordered on the Kiosk to avoid my usual embarrassment from uncertainty. I do this every time I’m somewhere with options, it can be overwhelming. However once, I sat down I was able to people watch and observe what was around me. There was always an employee in the seated dining area available for assistance - his name was Ricardi. My side of cheese sauce was missing and he was readily available and happy to assist. Ricardi also informed me of the free refill option that I was never aware of. The attentiveness and grace that Ricardi shown not only my but every guest during my short stay made me want to share my experience. And I really wish I wouldn’t have ordered on that kiosk because I’m left to wonder if all employees at this location are just as grateful. Thank you Ricardi for leaving a positive impression that will last forever. I’ll be sure to visit soon! * btw, The Korean BBQ burger is sooo good! And of course my cheese fries! ShackShake is consistently always tasty and fresh.

Conveniently located burger joint for the University of Columbia community, as this place is just across the street from them. Before ordering from here, i read some of the other reviews others have wrote, so i could’ve been pretty skeptical and cautious about this place enough to just pass it by, but the fond memories i have of me and my family eating at their original Madison Square Park location back in the day, multiple times, for many years before they became even more famous, famous enough to open more locations ‘round the world, got the best of me. So i went ahead and ordered a “SmokeShack” double and boy did it not disappoint, as i could taste the unique blend of beef they use for their patties and that potato bun, omg, the most plush potato bun i know of in existence so far. Pretty pricey, but if you need something quick and reliably beefy, then this is the way.

One of my favorite shake shack locations. Kept clean and good quality food, good presentation. Clean restaurant.

Probably the best experience I’ve had at shake shack. I ordered with will/(alfredo) and he was super hospitable!!! He also put me on to the new sweet bbq sauce. Ty again.

Love this branch! Really good burgers. Tried the beef ones and the hot honey chicken. Hot honey chicken was quite spicy, so ask for less habanero sauce if you can’t take the spice. Remember to order in advance on the app and choose “inside collection” so you don’t have to wait (don’t choose window collection as the system is not very accurate and you might end up waiting for a long time while your burger is sitting inside). Also, always ask the counter for your order; don’t just wait in the store!

Honestly, had the best experience because of Cindy, the GM. We were having some trouble getting the machine to work, and even though it was busy, she went out of her way to assist us & made the experience so smooth & took great care of us. Thank you Cindy! Great service here.

The service was efficient, and the staff were nice. The place was definitely packed, and the general atmosphere was bright and lively. The food itself was okay. They have solid fast food meals, but the grilled cheese isn't going to blow anyone away. The peaches and cream shake is a must try though!

Burger is juicy and tasty. And I am glad they had an impossible burger so Adira was able to enjoy her food. We came at a busy time... there was a long line you order. Luckily, we were able to get a seat.

Shake Shack doesn't disappoint. I ordered the Chicken Bites, Cheese Fries and SmokeShack Burger. Everything was well done and tasted awesome. The customer service was great and the staff were friendly. The restaurant wasn't noisy but it was very busy since there's a university nearby. I enjoyed my lunch and I would visit again when I'm in the area.

Didn't reach out via email, but want to update that all future visits were much better! Many of the limited-time flavors are pretty cool.

I ordered 2 Korean Style Fried Chicken sandwiches , 1 draft root beer. The sandwiches were tasty. Crunchy the right spots, the coleslaw was yummy. Two complaints though. The serving size was rather small in my opinion for $12,(im happy I ordered two or I'd be hungry), and the chicken was dry. For this price, I can't see myself justifying purchasing it again. The root beer was half empty (blaming the driver not you) but... it was completely flat. I mean completely. This could have been avoided by filling up the soda before the order goes out! 3/5 experience.

I enjoy eating at Shake Shack. The chicken sandwiches are very good. I don't eat burgers and fries. Service is good, considering the stores is always full. The only thing missing is they don't have iced coffee. That would be a good addition to their menu. The seating outside is very nice.

bro i CRAVED shake shack for so long back in california and now that there is one literally a 4 minute walk away i'm literally like that's too far let's never go. but then i went once because they had their chicken sandwich special on sundays because of chick fil a LOL. i got the mushroom burger again because i love mushrooms and it was AWESOME. i wanted a shake because they're literally called shake shack and i got this mix of vanilla and chocolate idk what it was but it was yummmmm af. i split it with my friend and she got some burger and cheese fries which were okay. it was like animal style fries at in-n-out but worse. oh how i miss in-n-out. how did my friend go back to cali for the break and the thought didn't even OCCUR to him to try in-n-out wow. but ya this was a solid burger and then i ate the leftover chicken sandwich the following day and it literally tasted just like chick-fil-a but without the secret special sauce. so good job shake shack. hopefully i will be back cuz why does the mushroom burger actually hit.

Shake Shack is a gourmet version of Wendy's. The only difference is they cook hamburgers the right way with a little bit of pink in the burger in that nice moist and not dried way. All food chain restaurants only get three stars because they are all generic with service, food, and decor in their restaurants. However, this particular Shake Shack is four stars to me because of their manager. Now the crew seems to be in an attitude mood and wants to avoid being there as far as the cashiers go. The cooking staff are about their business, trying to cook satisfactorily with some fun in the kitchen, which I appreciate. What stands out to me in this store is the manager. She did something I only see in regular mom-and-pop shops or sit-down restaurants; she came out and personally wanted to see how everyone was doing and if they enjoyed the food. That stood out to me because she is going above and beyond. Even to the point of refilling drinks except for the shakes for all the patrons in the store. There was a reasonably new lady, and she tried to encourage her to do the same and also check the bathrooms for cleanliness instead of standing around doing nothing. This deserves mentioning, and I love customer service in any store. This will always be my go-to Shake Shack when I want something to eat.

Discontinued the non dairy shakes. No longer any reason to spend money here as opposed to cheaper fast food options.

This Shake Shack is always solid and consistent. I've tried a lot of the items off their menu, from special burgers to the chicken sandwiches and generally have a great meal each time. Give this Shack some love! I'm glad this Shake Shack is here as it's always a great option.

They never get my order right and they served me bad cheese. Every 6 months I order from here and regret it. Between flat out leaving out items, mixing things up, or otherwise not sending me my order I finally got one where they sent me every item I ordered. That's where the positives end. The cheese is usually smooth and shiny and when cold will harden up but generally looks like cheese. I have no idea what they sent me today but you can tel by how it hardened it was never hot and it is grainy and thick. It tastes and resembles wall paper paste. If someone told me it was orang wall sparkle I would not bat an eye. Sugar plum milkshake was good. Wish it was on the menu year round.

Update: 1 star Oops I spoke too soon. About midway through my chicken sandwich I noticed textures changing and sure enough, next chomp was pink chicken. I rushed to the restroom and spit out the mealy gummy pink chicken. The center was a totally funky texture. It's hard to photograph, but you can see the hue still in the shot from the areas where I took the bite. This is dangerous! Orig: 3 stars Staff ringing me up was super nice. Food was definitely cold but overall it is ok. Side of truffle sauce, cheese fries and the chix sandwich. Cold and soggy is the problem here.

I live in this area and was initially so excited there was a shake shack down the street but unfortunately this location has messed up my orders twice. The most recent incident was this past Saturday when I ordered hot chicken bites spicy and received the ones in the picture attached, which are not the spicy chicken ones. And besides the order mishaps I really think the quality at this specific location is out of whack. The food is always cold and idk whether it's because they make the burgers ahead of time or what. I LOVE shake shack but I've given this location a shot multiple times and been disappointed unfortunately. Ill probably still be back since I live around the corner tho.....

17 minutes after I paid $14 for a "Hot Ones Chicken Sandwich" with avocado the manager brought me a chicken sandwich with honey mustard and cold cheese, no hot ones sauce, no bacon, no avocado. Then she fled. So I went to her, said this doesn't have any of the "Hot Ones" special items, she said WHAT'S THAT, I pointed at the pictures everywhere, she said WELL I WAS GOING TO GIVE YOU A REFUND, WE DON'T GOT NO BACON OR AVOCADO... I asked why didn't anyone tell me that before they took my order, why did they take my order if they didn't have any of the ingredients, I asked why did they make me wait 17 minutes, I said I would be happy if they refunded me the supplemental price of the hot sauce and the bacon and the avocado, she said it would be a few minutes, I said I was in a hurry to make it to a meeting and was starving, so I asked if she could just give me a seasonal lemonade instead, and I'd take the chicken sandwich as is, she said okay, then after I gobbled down my cold bland chicken sandwich she shouted I FOUND SOME BACON DO YOU WANT BACON NOW OH WE GOT AVOCADO TOO... Where did these come from? What kind of management is this? Plus, the manager was shouting on her personal cellphone and loudly joking with her boyfriend the entire time!

people seem to always love the columbia shake shack. i certainly enjoy the shakes. their burgers are often kinda burnt and have some mayo-adjacent sauce on them that overpowers the other flavors. but their hot dogs, surprisingly, are quite good. other shake shacks are better, in my opinion, but this one gets the job done just fine.

Cold food. Repeatedly. Cold fries. Cold hamburgers. Cold grilled cheese. Shake shack should do something about the way they package hot food. Their packaging doesn't keep hot food hot for delivery, not even a few blocks, not even in mild weather.

Quick, fast and affordable, and they closed pretty late also.. definitely enjoy this location

Love it! Such a wonderful place right across Columbia University. It's always crowded before the Covid, even now it's always surrounded by deliverymen. I usually ordered on their app and pick it up, or the usual wait time will be around 10 mins. The beef is incredible, probably the healthiest burger I ever had, and you have customize it! Sauce on the side, add onion, etc. The Shroom Burger is also delicious! Unique burger indeed, I didn't know mushroom can be this delicious?!

I got soooo hype when I found out they were building a Shake Shack here! I work about 4 blocks away and I'm a die hard fan so I knew I was going to be coming here about once a week at least. While I love the food and love the proximity, I really hate how crowded this location gets. The lines can get really long (although they do move fast), but then it gets so packed inside while you're waiting for your food. Not to mention you can't ever find a seat! You can always avoid this by ordering through the app and picking up though! What I will say is that there is no burger in NYC better than a Shake Shack burger so even if you have make lines and wait a little longer than usual, it is 100% worth it.

The employees here are the most disrespectful I have ever come across. I'm waiting for five minutes for the cashier to count quarters while trying to place my order. We then place our order and pay, and they completely forget to make it. We waited 30 minutes before asking what happened, only to be told "the order never went through". Instead of offering us a refund or to make our food, we're ignored completely. I then wrote customer service through the website and all they could do is offer a refund and a $5 off $20 coupon. I will never go to shake shack again after this experience.

Their staffs seem untrained recently. It wasn't always the case in the past. In the last three month, I had: two burgers directly put into the takeout bag, one burger stuffed into a small fried chicken box, chicken without ketchup (pickup order, it should be included in the pickup bag). Today is the last straw: a raw burger. I want my money back. Or how about hire a manager who cares more?

Okay, this is Shake Shack. I know that one bad review from nobody like me would not really affect business. But this particular branch does not really know how to prepare everything that is being ordered. For instance, I got two Korean Chicken sandwiches, one Korean chicken bite, and Korean fries. The chicken bite and fries should come with Gochujang Mayo and we did not receive them...!!!!!! Is it really hard for you guys to double check whether everything that customers ordered is in the brown bag? There is no dining-in option so customers would have to open the bag in the middle of the street to check this. Is this what all customers are supposed to do? Just a brief review on the food: their chicken sandwiches are tasty but I don't really know why they call these Korean. They don't taste like Korean marinated fried chickens at all. If you want to get proper Korean-style fried chickens, I suggest that you go to K-town. Fries and chicken bite are hard to say because we had no Gochujang Mayo that goes with them. We just had to get hot honey from our own place and they tasted okay with hot honey.

I ordered delivery from this location and my burger has a bite taken from it. DISGUSTING.

I love Shake Shack, but this location practically destroys the entire brand. Delivery orders are usually a little late (nothing too crazy), but often cold. They also mess up orders quite a bit, from minor stuff like forgetting toppings you want and adding ones you don't, to completely forgetting menu items (forgetting SHAKES from Shake Shack is kinda major). It's almost shocking how badly they mess up, and how often it happens. I, like many, have worked in "fast food" establishments, and not only do I remember it being simple, it was also easy to excel at it. When you finally dig deep enough online to actually find a phone number, it goes to a voicemail. That's insane, especially now that there is no (or severely limited) indoor dining. They can't pick up the phone? That's just shit service right there.

Purchased: Shack Burger ($5.70-ish) w/ fries ($3-ish) TOTAL: $9 PROS: + Tasty: Every bite of burger and fries were tasty. Fries came out with nice, crispy and with a nice "crunch." CONS: - Scarce seating: Could be waiting due to high volume of customers. Seats are harder to find. However, could be an indication of how tasty burgers are - Small portion: Shack burger portion was kind of small. It is like In-And-Out size. Impression: Not bad if going for burgers. Joint is known for its shakes. Date-worthy, family worthy -- something just a tier above basic, IMO

So this Shake Shack was a surprise for me and I decided to eat here while waiting to meet someone. I was eating my Chick 'n Shack sandwich and fries, nearly finishing my sandwich when I took a bite and felt something hard. It turns out there was a bone in my chicken sandwich. That squicked me out, making me cautious of finishing that sandwich. I take this bone out and snap a picture, figuring I'll complain to the corporate offices later & try to finish my meal while waiting for my person. A staff member comes up and asks "how was everything?" I told him about finding the bone in my sandwich and showed it to him. He walks off and then another staff member (perhaps the manager) walks up and asks if I have my receipt. I give it to him and he says "I'll take this off your bill and get you another meal." I figured I would only get a replacement sandwich or a credit but I got a replacement meal (sandwich and fries) AND refunded my money. I have to give 5 stars for the handling of this situation since that was far beyond my expectations of what I thought would happen. I didn't even have to write any scathing emails or make any phone calls to the corporate headquarters like I'd have to do with most businesses. Shake Shack May have earned themselves a customer for life at this point.

The music is cranking so loud you can't even hear yourself speak. I think the management may be doing it on purpose and keep people out of the space, but it is very uncomfortable experience.

Hmm my food was good a bit cold but it's cold outside so it was expected . The food was good . I ordered a 50/50 , shack burger and Korean fries . The 50/50 soo good and the burger was good as usual . But the Korean fries aren't Korean at all . They are regular fries that come with a side sauce . I'm unsure what the sauce is but it tastes like thousand island dressing . The fries were dry and bland . Tasted best with ketchup . This is my first time trying the Korean fries and i hated them . Everything else was great , service was fast .

Normally good but sometimes they may mishear you and order you the wrong burger. My fault for not checking the receipt.

Order took forever and unfortunately gave me a burger which I can't eat instead of my chicken bites :( hopefully they will give me a refund at least I left a voicemail... I'm so sad though this was going to be my after work treat!!

Great food, great service, and lots of seating. No complaints here! Came on a Friday afternoon and there was barely any wait.

Ehh. Ok burger and shake. Nothing to write home about. I wanted a little more out of the burger and the shake. The cashier was pleasant but it took way too long for my food/shake to be prepared.

Wow talk about a location where the employees don't care. This is it. They don't check the pick up window and that screen never works. They ask for your order and everyone they all look over it. They mess up the order on the register all the time and then just walk away for someone else to fix. Seriously!!?!? This whole location needs a complete rehire. You stand there whether in line or outside at the window and no one comes over to ask you for help. Customer service all around is horrible here.

I didn't know the craze until I bit into the mushroom sandwich. Yes you heard me...a mushroom sandwich. The fries are hot and crispy. The mushroom patty is a portobello mushrooms dipped /covered in panko and fried....and them they add blobs of cheese, fresh vegetables like lettuce, pickle and onion. The milkshakes are okay. Just make sure not to get it with whip cream. They charge 50¢

There is an obvious problem with this particular shake shack store. The 3.5 star here speaks for itself. There are various customers feeling very disappointed about their service, and I am more than happy to share my story. I love shake shack, especially their French Fries - crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. Probably the main reason I decided to order Shake Shack delivery for dinner. Wait time for the order was not bad, but once I received my order, I see that my French Fries are missing. So I naturally called the restaurant to let them know that my French Fries are missing. The "managers" response: "YOU have to call Grubhub and ask for a refund because we won't send you your missing fries, or you can come to our store to pick them up" and she said it in a very condescending tone that struck all the wrong cords on me - so I asked her, "wait a second - you are the one who made an error and I'm the one who has to call Grubhub and rectify your error?" And then she hangs up on me... I call back and they said that "the line was disconnected"... after much back and forth, they said "we will refund your fries"... as if the cost of the fries were the issue. If I don't hear back from a proper manager regarding this issue, I will ensure to contact the regional manager.

Good evening. New yelp reviewer here! The service was terrible. I wasted 20 WHOLE minutes standing waiting for my mediocre fries and my cookies and cream shake that tasted like coconut. They also had the audacity to spell AND say my name incorrectly. Also on my tray there was a suspicious cheese substance.

Had the Shroomburger . Sauce still dripped all over my hand. They need to thicken it up. Back to the test kitchens. Fries arrived hot!

Everyone kept saying how good shake shack it is but I beg otherwise. Personally, I think it's a bit overpriced. A small burger, fries, and a signature shake are like ~$16 dollars. As many have mentioned already, the burger is cold/warm when I received the burger since there is no cover over the burger. As for the shake itself, I find it really watery and greasy (from the whipped cream). If compared to California's In-N-Out burger I would rather prefer In-N-Out. Not like I eat at In-N-Out much but the flavor is better in my personal opinion. Overall, I wouldn't really spend the $$ for the food here. I don't think it's worth it.

The Morningside Heights location for Shake Shack has finally opened and, in my opinion, it is a very welcomed addition to the neighborhood. I imagine it will be quite popular once the students move back in for the coming school year. As usual, this Shake Shack location has a very clean and modern look to it, and it has quite a bit of space. And the decor is quite nice as well; there is some art work specific to the neighborhood. The staff was also quite friendly and helpful. They were willing to answer questions, were knowledgeable about the menu, and seemed to be having a good time. I ordered a Smoke Shack, cheese fries, and a 50/50. The Smoke Shack has bacon on it that had just the right amount of crispiness and smokiness. It was quite delicious and my only complaint is that I wanted more. The sauce and toppings were all quite tasty. The cheese fries were also quite good. The parts of the fries that were exposed were perfectly crispy and the parts that were covered in cheese were perfectly gooey. It was a nice textural combination with great flavor; who doesn't love cheese and fried potatoes?? The 50/50 is Shake Shack's version of an Arnold Palmer. In other words, it is half lemonade half iced tea. It had a good flavor and wasn't too sweet, just the way I like it. Overall this was a great experience. I am glad I got in early and beat the inevitable crowd. I will certainly be returning to try the other burgers and to grab a shake!

Update. I was able to return to Shake Shack during another busy Friday lunch hour and left satisfied. The facility was clean as I mentioned before. The soft drink and condiment station was very clean. The staff here does an incredible job of keeping the common areas clean during a busy lunch service! BIG KUDOS. Again even though it was busy, I was able to get my food in less than 7-8 minutes and the staff at the counter (cashier and pick up window) were very nice. This time I ordered the Double Smoke Shack which was pretty good. The chopped cherry pepper was delicious! It served as the "pickle" providing a nice cut/break through the greasy, cheesy hamburger. It definitely complemented the burger very well. The bacon slices in this burger were really thick. I was expecting thin slices of bacon, but I got the complete opposite! KUDOS for not skimping out! As for the fries, they were hot, crispy, and fresh. No complaints here. This Shake Shack is definitely a great addition to the neighborhood!! I'll be a regular for sure.

Got the shroom burger and absolutely loved it. The texture of the patty was nice and crunchy and it was loaded with cheese. Portion was smaller than I'd hoped for but would definitely try again.

So excited for this new uptown Shake Shack! The line to order tonight at 7p was super short, but the wait to pick up the food was sooo long. Took about 15 minutes for the food to be ready, so recommend doing mobile orders to avoid this extra wait. The new hot chick'n is pretty good - basically their chicken sandwich but dusted with spices. The fries and shakes were solid as always. The only downside of the visit, besides the wait, was the low amount of cheese sauce we got on our fries - not as generous as the other locations!

Nice to see Shake Shack moving further uptown in Manhattan, maybe they'll touchdown in the Bronx. Nice size overall, not too much seating for large crowds, the 55in TVs with ESPN running were definitely a nice touch. Food is always consistent when it comes to Shake Shack. I feel thats the one thing you can always bank on. Service is great. I like how they have a floater who checks in on customers and volunteers to clean up after seated customers and throw away any garbage.

Not as good as In-N-Out but it'll do. Haven't tried the shakes yet. The crispy chicken nuggets were over-salted.

I ordered to-go. I ordered 10 CHICKEN BITES, but was given 6. It was fine though because they only charged me for 6, but still- listen to your customers! Customer service: C The main problem was the bites were teeny tiny. They are a rip-off and not worth your money. I definitely wouldn't advise purchasing them! Turns out it was a good thing the cashier screwed up my order! ‍ You would be better served getting a 20 piece at McDonalds for the same price. ‍ (C+) THE SESAME MILK SHAKE it was fine for a change of pace, but milk shakes shouldnt taste just fine. (C-) If you come here, stick to the burgers. The coffee shake is also good. I'll definitely go to another location before I give this one another shot.

What a wonderful spot to enjoy a delicious cheeseburger! It was my first time visiting a shake shack and boy was I impressed. The burgers are packed with flavor and the crinkle cut fries were cooked just perfectly. I ordered a strawberry shake and it was quite thick but very delicious and the cheese to go on my fries tasted wonderful! This place can be a bit pricey as I ordered all of this for $21 but it was quite good! Definitely recommend either ordering take out or dining in when it is not a peak time as you will be waiting for a table for quite some time after receiving your food from the counter.

I like Shake Shack but I don't like this location. The reason is that they usually make buzzers vibrate 5 minutes before the order is actually ready. This makes the whole experience much more stressful than what it should be: last time I went, there were five people close to the counter, all with vibrating buzzers, that all thought they were the next in line.

I was surprised of how fast they had my order ready ! And the burger was delicious as well as the lemonade! It's right across the subway so it's a perfect spot to eat !
