Gourmet fast-food classics like burgers & frozen custard

"I note that Shake Shack began as a cart in New York’s Madison Square Park in 2001 before moving into a stand in 2004, and that it opened its first Denver location at 2995 Larimer Street in RiNo in March of 2018." - Paul Albani-Burgio

"Originally launched in Madison Square Park in 2004 and since expanded to more than 150 locations nationally and internationally, this fast-casual burger concept opened a Larimer Street location as the first of three planned for the Denver metro area, with additional sites expected in Highlands Ranch and at Denver International Airport before year’s end." - Josie Sexton

"I note that the chain's first Colorado location opened last month in the heart of the River North Art District; that RiNo Shack features a 30-person, dog-friendly patio and even offers a peanut butter and dog biscuit custard on its menu, fitting into the area's hub for food, art and culture." - Josie Sexton

"I visited the first Colorado Shake Shack at 2995 Larimer Street in the River North Art District, where the grill fires at 11 a.m.; after a packed pop-up at The Source and a visit from founder Danny Meyer, the airy, industrial 3,700-square-foot space—vaulted ceilings, high beams, light pine accents, and the brand’s signature neon green—seats 108 indoors and out and has a dog-friendly patio for nearly 30. The menu pairs Shake Shack staples (burgers and fried chicken sandwiches on Martin’s potato roll buns, crinkle fries, and creamy vanilla and chocolate frozen custards and shakes) with Colorado exclusives: the Green Chile CheddarShack, a smashed Angus beef patty with mildly spiced Anaheim, jalapeño and sport peppers, shredded white cheddar and marinated onions; the Glazed and Confuzed concrete with banana bread doughnut chunks in vanilla custard; and the Pie Oh My concrete, currently blending a slice of The Long I Pie’s salted honey lavender pie with vanilla custard. A rotating beer list features Ratio Beerworks, Odell Brewing Co., Denver Beer Co., Funkwerks and Great Divide, Stumptown cold brew is available, and five percent of sales will go to Food Bank of the Rockies. General Manager Deborah Sheetz runs a staff of nearly 60, and this Larimer Street Shack is the first of three Denver-area locations slated before year’s end." - Gigi Sukin

"The first of three planned Denver locations opens March 21 at 2995 Larimer Street, featuring Colorado-only menu items such as a Green Chile CheddarShack (a cheeseburger topped with shredded white cheddar, green chiles, and scallions) and Pie Oh My concretes that fold seasonal Long I Pies into vanilla custard; local beers and wine will also be available." - Josie Sexton
