Shake Shack Somerset

The food is superb, but the prices are not, and they even don't offer any combos to any burger or chicken sandwich meal, which is sad... Other than that, it's great! This is my 1st time trying Shake Shack. I won't be dining here often, though.

Whether eating at their more traditional location close to hwy 75 or this mall location I find the burgers great. In the upper tier fast food chain (5 Guys, Culvers, In-N-Out, etc.) I find this to be the tops. They may not be the healthiest, but they sure are tasty. I'm not sure what they do. I've never had a bad experience with quality or service. The beef has a distinct freshly grilled taste, fries seem to be cooked in butter (not sure about that, but it taste like it), and the shakes have a very authentic, thick ice cream texture. The burgers tend to be on the smaller side and pricier too. I guess you get what you pay for. More gourmet options certainly exist at other places, but for this category it's certainly a part of the royal family.

Terrible employees. This upscale mall really needs to have upscale employees. What I experienced today was disgusting from the employees at this shake shack. She didn’t even know how to read to call out customers names. Wish I could’ve gotten her name. Nonetheless when I went to ask if my order was ready she rudely threw it at me and complained that my name was called 5 mins ago and she pronounced a completely different name than mine, so how was I to know she called my name? DISGUSTING and illiterate employee. New employees are desperately needed there because clearly calling out names at shake shack is too difficult for her.

Disappointed by Lack of Food Safety I was pretty disappointed with my recent visit to the Shake Shack at Somerset. An employee with long hair was making sandwiches without a hair net, and I literally watched her move her hair out of the way with her hands while handling food. It’s honestly not acceptable, and I canceled my order on the spot. People deserve to know this location isn’t being careful about basic hygiene. I hope management takes this seriously.

We came to Michigan from Canada to visit family, and took the opportunity to try Shake Shack. It was delicious! I had the veggie burger with fries onions and cheese and it was delicious. My mom had a burger and we both enjoyed some fries. The staff were friendly and while it may take a little longer than other fast food, it was worth the wait. It was a yummy treat and I would definitely go back!

First time trying Shake Shack! I liked they offer a self ordering portal! I ordered a double cheeseburger with the crinkle cut fries and a lemonade. Food took a while but they were busy! When our food arrived mine came without the tomato. I didn’t complain because I was hungry and didn’t want to deal with the line again. The fries were so good! So crispy and enough salt! And the burger was great! I didn’t see the option to add mustard, so with mustard and my tomato, it would’ve been 5 out for f 5! Lemonade was good too, not my favorite because I like the fair tasting lemonade and this was a little more commercial tasting. Overall would love to try it again! I

Pros are that the food is good and service was efficient. We each had a burger and fries with a drink and shake. Everything was correct, hot and ready to eat. I ordered a seasonal shake, maple snickerdoodle - very tasty! Cons are that the mall can get super busy, which obviously means long lines and limited seating in the food court. Although I’ve only been here once, I read a few reviews complaining about the quality, but I thought it was a typical shake shack experience.

Excellent experience all around! This is the first time I’ve ordered the veggie burger, and it is FANTASTIC! Our strawberry shake was so good! French fries are perfectly crinkle cut and taste just like potatoes! We got our food quickly, but most importantly, you can taste the quality ingredients! Today’s visit changed up vegetarian options for me and made me a regular customer!!

Shake Shack in Troy for the most part is always a hit. Their burgers are some of my favorite in the area, no one really does it like them. The smashed patties with the buns are all always top notch. They have great toppings also like crispy onions and pickles. I wish the service was better sometimes, it can be very slow. Besides, that, my favorite fast-food (ish) spot!

I love that I can now get my 'Shroom burger fix when I come to visit my mom in Michigan. And it's (practically) walking distance from where I stay at my friend's place. I went around noon and had no wait. Yay! Take that, Chick Fil-A! I haven't had a 'Shroom burger since my last trip to a Nationals game. It was just as delicious as always. Oozing with cheese. I ate it with pure delight. Now I know what my go-to meal will be next time I am at Somerset. Chick Fil-A is so yesterday.

Always can get a good burger here service was fast and tasty! I'm sold! Definitely give them a try if you're in the area.

Rip off lemonade. Order light ice or no ice if you come here. Unless you wanna spend $6 for 6 sips of a drink The burger was fire though. The cheese they use on the fries was like cheap carnival cheese they definitely need to up their game.

The portions to cost ratio is the worst I've ever seen. The food isn't terrible, but the portions are just way too small. Around 20 bucks for a kids meal amount of food.

Online ordering FTW! Shake Shack is doing BOGO Shackburgers until 1/2/22 with code THANKYOU21 so I wanted to take advantage of it. However, it's only good through the app or website ordering, and the standalone Troy location didn't have it enabled today. So I decided to stop on the mall (yes, on New Year's Eve Day, I'm a glutton for punishment...) to get my order. When you arrive at the food court keep on going pass the gigantic line of people waiting to order and you'll see the pickup stand. Fast and easy. We ordered two burgers, one of the portobello mushroom sandwiches, and the garlic parmesan fries. The fries came packaged with the truffle sauce on the side, which was good because it had about a 30-min. drive from the mall to my parents' house. The truffle sauce was SUPER tasty - overall I feel like their fries are on par with Ore Ida fries but the sauce was great. My dad just got a regular cheeseburger and on my burger I had avocado and cherry peppers. The cherry peppers were spicier than I remembered but the avocado was great. Overall I'd order from this location again if mall dining.

Newbie here. Our neighbor eats here on the regular, she lives on burgers, fries and shakes. It's some basic quick and easy bites. The truffle sounds and looked interesting. Decided to go with two chicken shacks and the Parmesan truffle fries as well. They took our names down for our order. Fun music at least. Some Arabella from Arctic monkey and some Smaller menu than I was expecting, not a lot of many options and little sides too. The tables are made from reclaimed bowling lanes. An image popped up of eating on the bowling lane floors suddenly. The chicken shack is okay, nicely crispy chicken. Sandwich overall is rather bland. We ordered Parmesan truffle fries but received fries only. Had to go ask for the Parmesan truffle dip for the fries. Not sure if the food here would bring me back anytime soon. Service was ok, quick transactions and interactions here.

I love shake shack!! This isn't my first time having it but it hits the spot every single time. It is sooo tasty and is GREAT quality fast food. Their burgers taste pretty fresh and the cheese is melted perfectly. Such a great fast food burger. The cheese fries are awesome too. The cheese sauce doesn't taste artificial and I like that they gave it in a side cup instead of pouring over the fries. I also like that they have their own "brand" of water bottles. A really nice touch and it's a pretty big bottle for the price. This is kinda pricey for fast food but I definitely think it is worth it for the quality of food you are getting.

I love Shake Shack! I eat here very often. I always order through the app so I can drop by, get my order and go! My overall experience at this location has been great. I stopped by to try their new Korean chicken sandwich. Unfortunately, I wasn't very pleased. I could barely taste the sauce, not because their wasn't enough on the sandwich, it's just the flavor doesn't pack a powerful punch. It was almost bland. It's not something I'd order again. The original chicken sandwich is really good! It has so much flavor from the 1st bite to the last. I highly recommend trying that.

3.5 stars for food. No stars for service.... Every time I've been there we waiting a ridiculous amount of time with almost no one there. What more irritating is staring at our food on the warmer for 5 minutes while someone just stands there staring doing nothing. Seems to have a lot of people working that are limited.

Staff was friendly and efficient, but food was super underwhelming. This was our first visit to a Shake Shack and we ordered a seasonal shake, fries, fried portabella burger, and a seasonal burger with avocado. The traditional burger was fine, nothing special, and the fries were crispy. The shake though was sickly sweet and artificial tasting, my kiddo chose it based on the picture and it didn't come with the special sprinkles as shown (which can be a big deal for a toddler, lol). My partner and I could not drink it and we threw it away half full when our little one had enough. My mushroom burger was gross, it was basically a fried ball of cheese with a little bit of mushroom which you couldn't taste, so I was quite disappointed. If we ever find ourselves at a Shake Shack again, we will order very differently.

Service was alright. My issue stems from the size of the burgers and the boat of fries that I paid $12 for. There were 20 fries for $3.99 or whatever it was and the slider of a burger was $7! And I'm all for employees getting equal pay but honestly asking for a tip when I have to walk up and order and then walk and get my food and all the condiments. For the size of the meal I got for the price I would hope Shake Shack could afford to pay their employees accordingly.

The line for Shake Shack is long but totally worth it. I absolutely love their food. I am still eager to try the shakes. The burgers here always taste so fresh and fantastic. It like melted in my mouth. I love when burgers are like fresh out. You could tell because of how hot it was and how melty the cheese was as well. I crushed the burger to fast. The bread is amazing as well. It makes the burger super filling. I love getting their cheese fries, with the cheese on the side. The crinkle fries are always fresh, hot, and delicious. The cheese is my favorite! They make the food super quick too. They give you a tracker so that you can take a seat while waiting. Also, the customer service here is top notch. They are patient and understanding. They are always nice about things. They helped us decide what to get. The staff behind the counter, thanks for the great food! I am so excited that they opened Shake Shack at this Mall.

I am a big Shake Shack fan. I've been to every Michigan location so far, Detroit and the other freestanding building in Troy. I love their food. We were excited to see them build at the food court. Today we ordered the chicken shack, a crispy chicken sandwich, crinkle cut fries, two concretes, and a six piece chikn' bite with honey mustard sauce. Everything was amazing as Shake Shack usually is. The chicken was very crispy on the outside moist on the inside. The fries have the right amount of salt. The concretes were yummy. Each Shack seems to have a different set of signature flavors. We had the Somer Break with vanilla custard, strawberry sauce, blondies, and sprinkles. Super tasty, and bonus, they did not melt too fast as some ice creams often do during a meal, especially in the summer. There are a few downsides to this place. Today the credit card machine was down and they only accepted cash. Shake Shack happens to be very pricey so luckily I had a bit of money on me today. Because of the high price this is a sometimes treat for us and not an all the time treat. For your money the portions are small, but they make up for it in flavor. Since it is at a food court they don't serve their signature wine or beer. The freestanding Troy location does offer the wine and beer. If you like a nice white, it is worth checking out that restaurant instead. Their beer is great too. I liked the set up of the line. They have cups of water available, sauce, and napkins for you to gather while you wait for your order. They give you a beeper to pick up your food, so the line moves quickly and efficiently. The carry out bags were nice as well. They are lined with a cardboard box so you won't spill or get grease on anything. We'll be back for more!!!

We ordered 3 meals for takeout and found out they forgot 1 fries after we got back. Make sure to check your bag before you leave the counter. And I was told they don't serve secret menu items at this location.

The burgers are so juicy and always hot when deliverd to me even after the 40 min or so drive it takes for my delivery person to get to me its still warm and taste amazing. Fries are by far my favorite and when you go order in person they get it done real fast and workers are really nice

The quality and taste of the food is very good-lives up to the good ratings from many of my friends. The chicken shack was not overfried or dry and the shack burger was very tasty. The only issue we had was the portion size relative to price-$6.69 for chicken and $5.59 for burger). We found the burgers really small and the value proposition of eating at a food court was out the window if we ordered two burgers (not worth it). I guess you pay for the quality and hence left with a decent meal but we were not full at all.

My son and I stopped into the Somerset Mall location to grab a bite to eat. I had the Avocado Bacon Burger, an order of Cheese Fries, and a Chocolate Shake. Everything tasted deliciously fresh, very flavorful. The cheese sauce for the fries was awesome. I was glad that it was served in a cup rather than on the fries which would have made them soggy. The Chocolate Shake was absolutely decadent, almost sinful. The quality of the food makes the higher price point of it worth it.

Ate at Shake Shack in Troy MI on Saturday 1/28/22. I paid for burgers, fries, small cokes and 1 shake for 5 people and the bill was $73. The burgers and fries were very good, but not $73 good. The staff on Saturday 1/28/22 was obnoxious and rude. The food was good and the place was clean so I am rating it 5 stars.

Great grab and go version of Shake Shack. Always provides fast service even when there is a line.

Went there Thursday night I had to place the order outside in the cold without a menu, so of course my whole order was completely wrong and missing items Tried calling them for the last three days all I get is leave a message for the manager that has not called me back What a waste of $$$

Honestly not the best experience. So after I placed the order, I was told to wait on the side for a text. The text came a little early and I was confused when I got to the counter when I didn't see my food. But I got my food. And it was amazing. I had a chicken shack sandwich. My company had the shack burger. She ate it up. My sandwich was delicious. Lastly I had a basket of fries. It was the freshest basket of fries I have had in a while. 5/5 for the fries. There is a chik Fila in the same food court. I think I made the right selection between the two. Really good.

First experience @ Shake Shack in Troy. Couldn't wait to try. Cute ambience lots of choices. With that being said out of 2 of the 3 special lemonade drinks. After I paid I was told this so I easily offered to just get a shake instead to which the manager told me I'd have to pay the difference. He actually made me charge another beverage & then refunded the lemonade. It was like $1 difference. This tony restaurant couldn't have comped me? For the inconvenience? Wtf?? They then gave me the WRONG shake which I found out later bec I got take out. The burger was ok but on both mine & my partner the sauce was @ the bottom of the wrapper so we ate it kinda dry. Fries were SUPERB & the other chocolate shake was heavenly!!!!

This review is a little late, but better late than never! I absolutely enjoyed my burger/Shake and fries. My wife surprised me and bought it home for dinner. Needless to say kudos all around. The burger was prepared to perfection just for my liking. The shake was delicious. All I can say is check it out if given the opportunity. I will return when the tastebuds call for it.

The food,the service and servers were very good. The place is very clean. I went there with the wife and we had the fried portabello mushroom. It was very good. We've been back a second and plan on going again! Good job Shake Shack!!

WONDERFUL!!! Yes the burgers are smaller than expected but as Americans, our portion sizes are way too big anyways. We ordered the Shack burger along with plain burgers and cheese burgers for the kids with fries. Everyone devoured their food. Burgers are melt in your mouth good! The chocolate milk shakes are to die for as well. I will definitely be back!

A portobello mushroom burger the size of a McDonalds cheeseburger $7.09 Crinkle cut fries $2.99 Watered down lemonade tea $2.69 $13.53 for a food court lunch I don't think so!

I wish I could give it 3.5 stars. It wasn't bad... didn't wait too long on a Saturday around 7pm. I ordered a double cheeseburger, fries, and water. The burgers were a bit overcooked. Maybe just a new place trying to work out the kinks? Very heavy on their shake sauce, much more than the shake shack down the street. Seems like a lot of people in the kitchen, so figure they should be able to handle how to make them per the requirements of the franchise. I didn't try the shakes that they are known for, maybe next time. Not a place you eat on the regular, as it's fairly heavy... but, I think the stand alone shake shack down the street is better so far.

This is the worst burger I have ever had. There was so much salt in it I had to drink 4 cups of water to hydrate as I was trying to eat it. Save yourself some sodium, taste and money. I had never tried shake shack but today I thought I'd give it a go! The burger was really salty. The cheesy fries were just okay. The milkshake was delicious though. Overall I wasn't very impressed. I will try it again but my first impressions were just so-so.

Stopped in to get a frozen custard, I have heard Shake Shack is insanely overpriced, but I was not ready to pay $4.35 for one tablespoon of frozen custard. I thought it was some kind of a joke, but the server said that's all you get, one table spoon size scoop for $4.35. Tossed the cup with the table spoons worth of frozen custard back on the counter. I left not even asking for a refund, I was frustrated enough to know I didn't want to deal with this. It's nuts, how does a fast food restaurant charging $20.00 for a small burger/fries/drink operate. Lost my business for good.

The service was absolutely spectacular!!! Super nice and friendly. Though the lines were long it was DEFINITELY WORTH THE WAIT!!! My personal favorite is the ShackBurger with a Salted Caramel Shake with Whipped Cream! The food was superb. Very classy and the service made me feel like I'm a person not a number getting served

I always come to SS to grab a bite while in Somerset, their wait time is usually short and I've never had any issues with my order. The shroom burger is a great vegetarian option! 4 stars because their prices are a little high compared to the portion sizes.

A complete rip off! My teenage son ordered the chicken nuggets and vanilla shake. The total cane to $16.50! The meal looked like a kid's meal! A total of 10 French fries and ten nuggets which are a little bigger than popcorn chicken. The shake, while small was good. We offered to pay with exact cash. They refused money. Only credit or debit. Will not be returning.

It was a little on the expensive side and he portions were quite small but the food was delicious! The milkshakes were pretty good. The line was very long but well worth the wait!

This place is horrible. The food is flavorless! My son got the ten piece chicken bites and the were not only cold but flavorless. I got the shroom burger, it was small and thrown together. The portion sizes are ridiculously small for the price. I will never eat here again. Worst place ever.

asked for a cup of water with a lid so it didnt spill, the cashier tried to get me one and another worker took the cup out of his hand and poured the ice out and told him he could not do that. even offerred to pay for the cup like a fountain drink. then the worker began to get upset with me over it. even threw the cup away too. bad service
