Shake Shack - Review - University District - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Between long lines and worked-up toddlers, stamina is essential to endure a U-Village Shake Shack run—which may already be dwindling after Vuori staff made you feel like plebian trash for not owning a half-zip in the “salt” colorway. But satisfactory smashburgers, crispy chicken bites dunked in buttermilk ranch, and frozen custard milkshakes cure all shopping-related woes. You won’t find a better burger within the mall’s borders." - Aimee Rizzo

The food is great, I mean its your traditional smash burger. The fries are always hot and crispy. However, the wait was quite long. They are typically very busy

Google
Place wasn’t too busy when we arrived during lunch time on Labor Day weekend, but quickly filled once we sat down. Outta the 3 times I visited SS, this location had the best food. I’m not sure if it’s because I finally got the order to my liking, or they just simply did a better job than the other locations. (Though given that I was given stone cold frozen fries at the other place, the expectation was not high.) We ordered barbecue burgers on lettuce, wrap, the mushroom burger, chicken nuggets, and cheese fries. Usually, I prefer In&Out over the price difference, but the fancy lettuce they use at Shake shack was very enticing. Nothing to complain about. Food was hot and fresh, and the tables were kept neat and clean for a self service joint. Shake Shack is back on my radar 🫰🏼👉🏼

Google
Shake Shack used to compete well with In-n-Out (in my opinion). They were delicious and decently priced. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case. I witnessed this location go from good to terrible as the portions went down, prices went up, ordering went digital, and service became nearly non-existent. The last time I visited was the final straw for me and my gf. She ordered an $7 BLT, and I really wish I had taken a picture because, I can't make this up, it was 4x4" MAX, carelessly slapped together, and the bacon was the MOST UNDERCOOKED BACON I have ever laid my eyes on. It looked nothing like the picture and frankly, I was insulted by how laughably bad it was. Seriously. I wish I could leave a better review as I've come here for years. But alas, I can't.

Google
Great staff at this location. Our burgers were on point. They hadn't received a supply delivery the day we stopped by and were out of milkshakes... That's a testimony to how good they are here! Parking is a pain at U Village... It's easier to park late at night. Shake Shack doesn't need to be here to draw business. Hopefully they'll put another location in North Seattle soon!

Google
I came here because I got the ShackBurger for free with another purchase, which after some debating, I decided to choose to spend on the Spicy Korean BBQ Cheese Fries First, the burger. It was smaller than I expected - although the amount of toppings inside was decent - the buns were surprisingly small. Only 500 cal for a burger is pretty low, especially one that costs nearly 7 and a half dollars I thought the quality was pretty good, though The buns were really soft and nice. Shake Shack seems to take the opposite route as some other places and undertoasts their buns - but here I found that it worked well as the top was pillowy soft and the insides of each bun was buttered well. I didn't like the fact that the mayonnaise was not spread on the bun though - instead it was in separate dollops The smashed burger was pretty good - although I do have a similar complaint about it not being thick enough. However, it did taste quite good - as it was crunchy, and well flavored I thought the cheese was also quite good and melted well on the burger patty. Wish there was a little bit more lettuce though The part of this meal that I really liked more were the fries, however After trying these, I'm pretty convinced that Shake Shack makes the best (or maybe second best to Five Guys) french fries out of any fast food place That's just the basic fries, however. These specialty fries were even better I loved the kimchi seasoning on these. While I do wish a) it would have some actual spice to it and b) it was all over the fries instead of only on a few, I found it added a fantastic seasoning - making this truly a unique french fry experience. I wasn't a huge fan of the Korean BBQ sauce - it just tasted strange and like a mix of too many different things though The cheese sauce, however, was quite good and enjoyable I also liked double dipping in the BBQ sauce first and the cheese sauce second The portion of fries for the price was much better value than the burger as well Overall, pretty high-end fast food - but would've been a lot better if the burger was larger Burger: 7.5/10 Fries: 8.5/10 Overall: 8/10

Google
The atmosphere and service often make me feel like I'm in a fattening stable. It's probably due to the "modern" zeitgeist... Just screens, screaming and chaos. But the burgers are among the best I've eaten!! Therefore 3 stars. The fries were ok.

Google
Went with my little kids this Saturday evening, and the staff were great with them, providing them coloring materials and interacting with them; it was a huge help and made our experience excellent (thank you to the two guys built like football players). The food was good, as always, and came out quickly. The place was clean. We drove down from Canada, and we will be back after this experience.

Google
First off, I will say the food is delicious. I had a chicken sandwich Ava tried the Banana Cream shake and they were very tasty. My big complaint is that the food looked nothing like the menu photos Ava there was little care in preparing the food. We ordered Cajun fries and the spice was just dumped on top, not shaken together for a more even coating, so the first bite was too much. The nacho fries we ordered also just had a scoop of nacho cheese just slapped on top. It's like a bunch of McDonald's employees were hired here.

Yelp
Speed of service from time of order to receiving our food 5* Quality of food 4* Value 3* Ordering ourselves because there was no cashier 2* Asking me to tip on an order I placed myself jn a fast food restaurant in a city with one of the highest minimum wages in the country 1* Overall 3*

Yelp
This place is amazing! You walk up to a self order screen , order, pay, you get a number and find a table. ( or you can order to go) This was super convenient because we had just spent the whole morning shopping, the restaurant we walked in before had at least a 20 minute wait time. This place had no wait time and it was friendly and inviting. So after we ordered our food, we sat a table and our food was ready pretty quick. It was super busy too so I was very impressed that it arrived to the table so fast. It's pretty big inside, has outdoor seating and a little doggie area! A big plus since there is plenty of dog people in the shopping village. We ordered a variety of burgers , all of them were delicious and hot! Fries are crinkle fries which I loved. If you're not a burger person, omg you'll love the Bacon avocado chicken burger! It's so big and juicy. Overall my experience was very positive here! I'd go again and again!

Yelp
Everyone said to try shake shack, but I'm not sold. I ordered via the kiosks to go, and it took over 20 minutes for a burger and fries to come out. While the food was decent, it was not worth the wait especially for a quick take out.
google avatar

Yelp
There were several times the past year I considered changing the rating, but the last few months I've been quite impressed. They've really improved the quality of their burger and seemingly their workflow too. The takeout window now has a call button! The burgers are addictive, delicious, full of cheese and sauce that oozes out, and comes out PIPPING HOT and stays tongue-burning hot despite it sitting in 40F freezing air. Very impressed. Well done, new management. The only pain point--not this location's fault--is shake shack's app remains glitchy and ineffective, plus is lacking in rewards. The kiosk lines can be so long especially when they only open 2 tablets.

Yelp
Reasonble place to eat in U Village. We got two orders of nuggets, a hot dog, bacon cheese fries, and a basket of fries for around $26!!! Ordering is annoying on touchscreens that are slow. They also charge a bag fee even if you're eating in which seems shady. They have outdoor and indoor seating, expect to bus your own tables but they will deliver your food to your table.

Yelp
Honestly this was the first time in a while I've came to get a chicken sandwich and couldn't finish it. This place is overpriced and highly underwhelming. The service was quick and efficient but the food sucks! I got an avocado chicken sandwich and it tasted way over seasoned. The best flavor was the pickles which we know they don't make so that's great. I just wanted a place to have a bite and do some work but they don't even have outlets to plug in my laptop. Waste of $15 and never coming back.

Yelp
This location does an amazing amount of volume. I came here for lunch and they were moving a lot of people through the line. The line moved quickly and the food is delicious. I am writing this while I sit outside on a gorgeous perfect fall Seattle day- who doesn't love alfresco dining. Even a cardboard box would taste good right now, but this food is legit burger stuff. I got the black truffle shroom burger and I think I will dream about this burger later. My only complaint is that the fries were way over salted. Overall this was a great experience. I will absolutely come back. Also- this bird tried to eat my burger!

Yelp
Having been to the Shake Shack on the Las Vegas Strip, this sad version of the chain in Seattle pales in comparison. I get it. This chain wants to get into states where it need not compete with In-n-Out yet. We ordered two identical burgers and added avocado to both so an extra $4 but none to be found on the burgers. Burgers were so-so and not what we ordered and verified on the receipt the workers were given the correct instructions. Next to us were a group of spoiled white boy UW children who were loud, obnoxious and left a giant mess of ketchup smeared on the table, discarded food and piles of napkins on and under the table. Seattle used to not be a dump like this place. Having said all that, the Shake Shack in Vegas is awesome, but in Seattle avoid this place.

Yelp
Anything positive I would have had to say, has been over, written by the managements lack of customer service. At this restaurant, you order through using kiosks/tablets. We ordered a deluxe burger that did not have the word cheese anywhere in the title, and did not stand out in Any obvious way. My husband has an allergy to dairy, and therefore cannot eat cheese. And as you may realize, it's pretty hard to take melted cheese off a burger As soon as the employee delivered the burger, my husband told him that it has cheese on it and he cannot eat it and was wondering if he would replace it. Employee was annoyed and said no, so my husband asked again in another way, but still nicely So the employee asked the manager working who quickly also said no. My husband would simply need to buy another burger. I can imagine if the main way that any customer orders, a burger is through a machine, many customers are probably going to make mistakes. And if their overall policy or philosophy is that it's the customer's problem, then that is not a restaurant I will be going to again. So my husband said "OK, I guess I'll have to give it away for free then since I'm not gonna waste it, and I can't eat it". The employee simply shrugged his shoulders and had the expression like he could care less then walked away And with that, we decided we would not be giving them any more of our business even though my husband was starving. I'm not sure how the other shake shacks operate or if this one is its own "little gem" (sarcasm), but I would avoid this one for sure. Especially if you don't want to waste your money in the event you make a mistake ordering on a kiosk you're not familiar with. It's sad how businesses don't understand the importance of customer service, and what it means for customer loyalty. We have lately started visiting another one closer to our house that was becoming our second favorite burger place but with this experience will find another business, even though this one was not the one near our house. One employee represents them all. Business basics.

Yelp
This location gets incredibly busy on the weekend but despite being busy, the food comes out super hot and fresh. This bacon cheeseburger with spicy fries was absolutely delicious. Super flavorful and fresh.

Yelp
This place used to have pretty slow service and to be honest, it was because of the demand so I kinda avoided this shake shack for awhile, but now the hype has calmed down and it's actually easy to get a meal here. The classic cheeseburger and fries are great here. I like getting their seasonal stuff, but I recently got the Korean bbq burger and it was ok. If you've ever gotten the Asian meals off hello fresh, it's a lot like that. The crispy onions are the exact same and so was the whole flavor profile. Otherwise though, the classic cheeseburger and fries are great. The bun is fluffy, the meat has flavor, the lettuce and tomato are crisp and fresh. It's good for sure (can't speak on the bacon, haven't had it). The restaurant is very clean and the interior is very open and looks nice. Overall I like coming here especially since McDonald's has gone so downhill lately

Alex M.

Yelp
The food is very greasy, you can't eat it and the portion is small I do not recommend

Dylan K.

Yelp
Insanely tiny portions for what you pay. This "double patty" burger was $14. I don't expect the meal to look like the pictures they use to advertise it, but I expect it to be around the same size. Shake was half melted by the time it got to the table. $45 of disappointment that didn't even feed two people. Line for the order kiosks moves slow. One of the kiosks was broken.

Yelp
I ordered the ShackBurger, it was very flavorless where I couldn't taste any seasoning just the texture of the meat and bun. The french fries are even worse, thick and crinkly that weren't even salted and just tastes like potatoes. I get Shake Shack is suppose to be healthier than a place like McDonalds but I think I'd rather have McDonalds. Shake Shack is one more burger chain with a cult following that doesn't live up to the hype.

Yelp
Shake Shack - U Village Please forgive the less than stellar picture of the burger. I can assure you, it was quite tasty!! The shake was awesome too. One caveat though. We tried to order and veganize from their kiosk. While it allowed for the removal of cheese, shake sauce, and onion crisps, it did not provide an option to substitute a gluten free bun (their vegan bun option, from what I've heard). On the plus side, if you use their smart phone app (which we didn't think of at the time) .. you do have the option to sub a lettuce wrap instead (saving yourself 220 calories!). We had to order from the manager and I suspect the bun we got may not have been gluten free after all (it actually had taste lol). I definitely plan to try again with the lettuce wrap version as I found the burger to be rather enjoyable!

Yelp
I do like eating Shake Shack food, but I hate ordering only on the machines here. Would love to order from a human.

Yelp
Very fast service, really good food , usually packed with middle schoolers which is the only downside.
google avatar

Yelp
A super busy location, be prepared to wait. Food is consistently good and not too much staff interaction. Lots of seating indoor and out! We enjoyed our burgers!
google avatar

Yelp
Can't really best Shake Shack. Not the best looking burger, but pretty good for fast food. They were quick for being so busy. I love their mushroom burger, it's a big portobello mushroom as the "patty". The fries are nice and crinkle cut, the right seasoning, and texture. The tables were pretty messy, but it was pretty busy.

Yelp
How I heard of this place: A visit to the east coast, Shake Shack made an appearance, but it wasn't until years later, a special deal, that we made it in. Type of cuisine: Fast food burgers, fries and sides. Ambiance: Warm brown tones, highlighted by greens, Shake Shack looks like a slightly upscale fast food joint. Covered patio seating is plentiful, as is the seating inside. Darker, less light coming in through the windows, the space is dim, but even the patio is protected from the rain. What I ordered: Shack Burger ($6.99) - Angus beef cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and ShackSauce on a toasted potato bun (contains sesame, eggs, milk, soy, wheat, and gluten). What I loved: Fresh ingredients like crisp lettuce, juicy tomato and a thick cut burger. Why I loved it: Quick food, with fresh ingredients and small(ish) size make for a perfect quick lunch. Cost: Average for fast food

Yelp
I didn't have the highest expectations due to the negative reviews, but regardless still wanted to check it out. Ordering is easy. Several ordering kiosks, and no person to person contact. Introverts unite! You put your name and number in, and get a text when your order is ready. Plenty of seating inside and out. Very busy place, especially on a weekend. Wait time was about 10-15 minutes. I ordered a bacon cheese burger & added crispy sweet onions. This burger was so simple, yet so delicious! Reminded me of an elevated Dicks burger. I am typically not one who orders cheese fries, but I had to try them! I was NOT disappointed! I don't think I'll ever be able to go to SS and NOT order them this way! Reminded me a little of velveeta cheese, which I am a huge fan of. I just moved into the area, and stoked to have a new option in the Village! I am officially TEAM Shake Shack!

Yelp
Quick order process using iPads speeds up the order and reduces interaction with staff Food is acceptable and the menu is good for a burger joint.
google avatar

Melissa L.

Yelp
Food was excellent, service was great! Arrived around noon on a Saturday and no line. By 1230pm, long line of people. Lots of seating both indoors and outdoors.
google avatar

Carol L.

Yelp
Service is sooooooo slow here!! It took almost 40 minutes to get our order of a single burger and a shake. You don't even order through a person; it's either through their electronic kiosk or through the app. The orange dreamsicle shake is new. The shake was good but too sweet as usual, and had a strong cream cheese taste. The shackburger was pretty good, although I'm not sure it's worth the almost $7 price for a single patty. It also comes with lettuce, onions, tomato, shacksauce, and pickles. University village is a great location because there is ample free parking and a lot of other establishments in the vicinity, but the shake shack itself was pretty average.
google avatar

Gina B.

Yelp
This experience was not as great as I hoped, but not absolutely horrible. Ordered at the kiosk. No problem there. Took awhile to get a text, but it happened. They also called out a name for each order. Smokeshack burger (two patties): A bit greasy for my liking. Didn't exactly taste smoky, I guess that's what what the bacon was for. The peppers had a nice spice. Two patties was plenty of meat. Decent enough taste overall, but not something I have to get again. Fries: Ok crispness, but otherwise boring. Chicken Bites: Unfortunately this was my biggest disappointment. If you see my photo which was taken before I even touched them, it was laughable how they looked. There was no breading on at least 50% of the chicken. It was just little cubes of chicken meat. Weird. I wanted something crispy to dip in sauce, but alas, that isn't what I got. It was so darn busy I didn't bother bringing them up to the front, so we just sadly ate the overpriced bland chicken cubes. So to conclude... I don't really want to come back. Maybe just for a shake... as long as it isn't lacking in anything.
google avatar

Fiona T.

Yelp
I don't blame the employees on this but I wish they replaced the iPad machines for ordering with humans. While the food is tasty, I feel that it is pricey for the quantity and quality you receive

David D.

Yelp
Food is what it is. Line to use the self service kiosk runs 20 deep. While an employee is leaning against the counter for minutes at a time. DOING NOTHING except walking an order out every few minutes. Then, wait for it, the kiosk automatically adds a tip that the customer has to change. That's bold.
google avatar

So-Ying C.

Yelp
We order two Shack Burgers, one chicken shack and one bacon cheese fries. Meal was $33 dollars (not including tips). With inflation nowadays, the cost is pretty spot on. The quality of thr burgers and chicken sandwich is pretty decent, but on the smaller end. Wish they had the option for combos instead of having everything ordered separately. The fries were under seasoned and not crispy enough. Overall it is underwhelming. Would not order the fries again. Maybe I'll just try a shake next time. After all, their name is Shake Shack, not Fries Shack lol

Yelp
The food and drinks were amazing. The service was decent as well as the ambiance. Would recommend!

Yelp
We were moving in our daughter at University of Washington and wanted to grab a quick bite. Even though it was crowded, we ordered our food at the counter and received our food quickly. The worker misunderstood our order and accidentally charged us for an extra burger. The manager happily refunded our money. Too bad he did because after we finished our food, it was so good we wished we had another one! We each ordered a single with cheese and cheesy fries. We are so hooked we came another time the day we left. We're from California where our kids prefer In and Out, but I'm team Shake Shack all the way!
google avatar

Lukas N.

Yelp
Sent our food to the wrong place. Waited 30 minutes and had to ask them as they were closing up where the food was before they got it to us. Food was ice cold and the kitchen had shut down so they couldn't turn it back on, and even if they did turn the fryers back on I wouldn't want food from a pissed off cook that I made work longer. The man who offered credit was nice, but we only received half credit as compensation in gift cards. I don't want more credits, I just want my food now, for the price I paid for it, at the quality I'd expect. I took my food out the door and threw it straight in the trash. Not going to Shake Shack again, there are plenty of other options out there.
google avatar

Alison O.

Yelp
Its better than McD's but not as good as The Habit and just as expensive as Five Guys, if not more. I paid over $100 for 5 burgers, 2 fries and 5 drinks. Whaaaaaaat?! There are no cashiers so you need to stand in line to place your order on the iPad. Food took awhile to come out and was hard to grab because everyone was crowding the counter waiting for their order. The only seats we could get were right by the order line so everyone paraded by us to watch us eat.
google avatar

Tamela W.

Yelp
I thought the food was really good and it was hot. The service is pretty good and they took my order at the front. I guess most people order on computer kiosks. This was my third time here and the place is clean with really nice wood tables. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
first time trying shake shack ! burgers were mid and lemonade tasted watered down many of the advertised menu items weren't even offered at the kiosk

Yelp
I have experiences here that are 2, 3, and 4 stars so I averaged that out. I never know how well it'll be, but I love the custard and the burgers so I'll return. When this location first opened last year, I ordered delivery on the Shake Shack app at night around 9PM because I had the munchies and was lazy to walk down the hill 10 minutes. Well, my estimated time was 9:30 and then I watched my driver change three times and my delivery postponed six times which resulted in an estimated time of 10:25 (estimated time increased 10-15 minutes each time). Shake Shack closes at 10:00 so by the time I received my order, it was cold and one of my doubles only had a single patty. I did understand it was late and the location was ready to close, but the order took over an hour after placing it, was cold, and wrong. That disappointed me and was probably my 1-2 star experience here. Since then, I've avoided delivery, suck it up, and make the trek down to pick up my order. I'm a big fan of the walk-up window but initially, I did find it weird how if I order on the kiosk inside, I still have to go outside to pick up my order at the outside window (I was originally waiting inside). On my last trip, I noticed the window has a whole screen listing order names that are ready. I'm not sure how recent this is but it wasn't here in the past so I'm very excited and happy about it. That's a big plus. Sometimes, I don't even come for the food because I love the custard shakes here. My last visit was one of those times. They're currently partnering with Milk Bar to serve two unique drinks but they're not on the kiosk which I found out while ordering and was so disappointed. Went with my classic Black & White and figured I'd try something new - the Purple Cow. Purple Cow - grape soda with vanilla custard I believe, it's a really interesting combination that really tastes "purple." If you're a fan of grape soda or Fanta, I strongly recommend this item. Black & White - this is my go-to, vanilla and chocolate custard mixed together. You can really taste the custard too so it's not a basic vanilla and chocolate shake, but it has an additional layer of flavor and texture that I love. Wish there were more size options but that's just Shake Shack. Also, when I got the iced tea, I was expecting some sweet tea but it's literally cold tea with ice. Just have expectations if you order the tea. Burgers from what I remember were amazing when warm or hot. I'm a huge fan of the patties and their texture.

Yelp
service was relatively quick considering the line. I ordered the cheesy bacon fries and a pink lemonade. the fries were served warm and were pretty good and I would repurchase those. however, I was extremely disappointed by the pink lemonade. I was very excited to try it as it looked very flavorful, but was taken aback by the lack of flavor. it was so watered down to the point where I couldn't even taste the lemonade itself. my friend who also ordered this drink took about 3 sips and tossed it as she couldn't even handle how watered down it was. a waste of 6 dollars.

Manmir A.

Yelp
Cheese Burger and veggie burger were both good. Veggie burger had flavor but I would double patty it next time to make it more filling. Fries were fresh. Facility was clean, service was punctual.
google avatar

John P.

Yelp
The food was fresh and tasty, but $8 for a $2 burger is a bit extreme. The chocolate shake was not filled to the top, and it was still too expensive. Service was quick, and with their automated ordering system, which reduces employees, should/would bring prices down. Ambiance was relatively quiet to where you could carry on a conversation.
google avatar

Gabriel S.

Yelp
I came here last night and while I was waiting for my to-go order I started to get a bad migraine with aura. I told the guy working the front counter that I had to go outside to get some air. He was very sympathetic and told me to wait outside and he'll be right out with my order. They even tried to look into turning off the outdoor light above me but they are linked so that wasn't possible. I guess the main thing I want to say with this review is there's people who care that work here and that's great to see. Lots of people do not care in this world but to know there's folks out there with compassion for others is comforting. I'll definitely be returning here in the future. And the Korean BBQ burger was quite tasty.

Yelp
Generally I would say shake shack is an ok 3 star place to eat. But, this is specifically geared towards the black truffle offering they have right now. The food is legit! Love the flavor of the truffle sauce on the burger and for the fries. Now on to the not so good. This place gets ridiculous during rush hours and even more so when it rains..... Was ~30 minutes wait to place order and then ~45 minutes before we got the food. For a fast food place, it was definitely not fast. Could have been a five star...... but the wait....

Yelp
If you haven't heard about Shake Shack by now, you're living under a rock. I don't venture to UVillage much, but this a good location among the shops to grab a meal. There are more tables inside and outside than the Kirkland and Downtown Seattle ones at least. Ordering was easy with the tablets inside. My usual order is always the Shack Stack, but this time the cheese inside the portobello was a bit solidified and could've been more melted. The crinkle fries were also slightly undercooked and didn't have the crisp that is expected of them. Execution could've been better overall. Not relevant to this location, but Shake Shack usually does a good job rolling out new menu items. The hot honey chicken bites are a miss IMO. Not much flavor to the seasoning and the bites are overpriced and small.

Yelp
The food and staff are nice. But staffing is always off! This picture is at 7:30 on a Saturday night. To go orders wait outside in Seattle with no heat in the winter. Over 30 minutes for 2 plain cheeseburgers, 2 fries and 2 shakes! Absolutely a joke! Then they have someone yelling-ish out order names. 4 Kate's come up to the window as the workers try to figure out whose order. Last visit to this location unless they fix this horrible wait time.

Yelp
What fast food restaurant DON'T HAVE SODA in their restaurant? Apparently this Shake Shack did. On our trip here, we decided to head over here after a day watching a guy blow glass and students run around the zoo. The area was quite nice with a outside mall setting. We ordered the bbq smoke shack burger, shake shack burger and milk shakes. The burgers were good but no soda...WTF. They had a variety of fruit drinks but nothing self serving. They need a soda dispenser that have unlimited serving.

Yelp
Sunday afternoon visit to U Village and Shake Shack was right in front of me on the way to the garage so I decided to go since there was no line out the main door. Mistake. As I went up to the counter, I see a line of about a dozen people off to the side. From the time I stood in line until I got my food, it was a whole hour. Troubles seemed to be the fact that there were only two kiosks available, several people were taking exceptionally long at ordering, there were a whole lot of people working in the kitchen and not a lot of food coming out. It would help if there were some directional signs at the front door that say the line forms out to the right; or even have the line go up the middle of the restaurant vs. out a side door. How about a greeter to help people at the kiosks, and and also redirect the unintentional line-jumpers who hop on to a kiosk vs. waiting in the line. As I was waiting for my food, I saw that happen a couple times. My fries were crispy and hot, and my Chicken Shack was good, albeit messy because the bun wasn't split right and fell apart after a couple bites. Doubt I'll be back to this location...

Yelp
Ugh sometimes shake shack really delivers in the best way possible. Although the price is sort of unreasonable for a sandwich and the wait time was ridiculous there was something about this chicken sandwich that can't be replicated anywhere else. I don't know if this place is short staffed but despite being busy and actively trying to maintain cleanliness of the restaurant the quality of the food was superb.

Yelp
These haters crack me up. Shake Shack is DELICIOUS. Yeah, the location's busy--it's the U Village during lunch. People forget how f***ing lucky we are to have such an insane variety of tasty eats around us. They think if they're not treated like Kings and Queens a place should be docked a star LOL. One guy gave a single star cause there was no soda fountain LOL. Just stop.

Yelp
A super busy location, be prepared to wait. Food is consistently good and not too much staff interaction. Lots of seating indoor and out!

Yelp
The U Village Shake Shack just continues its decline. Overpriced items with robotic customer service. Management nowhere to be found. Simple cup of soft serve ice cream for my grandson was a 15 minute wait. Only cash at counter, charge card requires kiosk access - order taker was rude. Will never return

Yelp
Shake Shack review 01/21/24: To start off this review I would like to state that I paid $23.29 for a shack burger, cheese fries with bacon and a drink. So one thing I didn't know before eating here was that Shake Shack has a system where you order from tablets and some worker brings your food out to you. For an introvert this must be a dream because the fact you can go here, order, and eat all without speaking to another human is truly impressive. Although I am quite a social butterfly myself it feels as though this strategy they use is just as effective as if ordering from a human. So, you order your food on your tablet, pay using card, grab a number, sit down, and wait for your food to arrive. Brilliant! From the moment I ordered to the moment I received my food was about 8 minutes which is pretty quick. I started off my meal by chowing down at the shack burger I ordered, I must say, I did have somewhat high expectations for this burger but unfortunately it tasted like a normal burger to me. Now I am no 5 star Michelin chef but it doesn't take one to recognize when a burger is pretty average. Now i'm not saying it was bad but I also didn't like how the first few bites I took were just the patty with the buns and it wasn't until the last few bites when I got the lettuce, tomato and shack sauce that they use. Those last few bites I took with all the ingredients though was very tasty. Shack sauce was good, burger was cooked well, buns were nice and toasted but it wasn't anything spectacular may I also add that the burger was pretty small for what I payed for it so with this in mind I would rate the burger a 6.2/10. Now moving to the cheese fries with bacon keep in mind. First, I would like to apologize to all my Muslim followers as I know eating pork isn't Halal and I do ask for forgiveness. Moving on, the fries were crinkle cut which i do like and they were also so crispy and well seasoned. Now, you would think because the cheese was melted onto the fries that it would most likely make the fries soggy but that was not the case here. The fries covered in cheese were still nice and crispy but also the bacon added a nice crunch and flavor to it. Honestly if I were to go back to this place I would only get the cheese fries, just because they were satisfying to my taste buds. I rate the cheese fries with bacon a 8.6/10. Lastly we have the drink, I ordered a Dragonfruit Pomegranate lemonade which first of all was a mistake on my end because what I wish I would have ordered was a shake from a place called Shake Shack. Anyways, the drink was good I liked the sweetness of the dragon fruit combined with the sourness of the lemonade and yes this is basically the same drink you get at Starbucks but that's beside the point. The drink was quite refreshing I must say so with that in mind I would rate it a smooth 7/10 because I would indeed order it again. I must say that for what I payed for and for what I received, it really was just an average meal but I do find myself coming back in the future. I would like to mention that the interactless way of paying was very unique and the atmosphere of this place was very cozy. Also, did not know that Shake Shack was an actual shack thought that it was just a cool name. If I was to comeback though I would probably order something way different. Located in both Tukwila and U district. I humbly rate Shake Shack overall a 7.2/10.
