Shack Shack LaGuardia Terminal B Review - LaGuardia Airport - New York - The Infatuation

"A Shake Shack is a Shake Shack, and the one at LaGuardia isn’t much different than the others. But one extra thing that this location has in common with its other airport counterparts at and elsewhere is its breakfast sandwich, which is an excellent way to start the day before a morning flight. Shake Shack Rolls Out a Food Truck in Philly - Eater Philly

"Shake Shack’s burgers, crinkle-cut fries, and custard shakes are now available on the road. The company just added two food trucks to its offerings — but they’re only available for events. One truck is for New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania and the other is setting up in Atlanta. The food truck menu is customizable, offering options like burgers and a portobello mushroom burger with muenster and cheddar cheese. Pricing is based on the duration of the event and the number of people." - Rachel Vigoda

Google
Small portions and long wait time, cheese fries cheese was cold.

Google
Burgers are tiny! Only good thing is that the burger is tasty, otherwise I sent my kids to school with bigger lunches in kindergarten 🤣

Dan Perez

Google
This is the perfect stop when coming or going to the Jersey Shore. The burgers are a bit pricey but worth it for the quality and taste you receive. The only con I experienced at this location was it was a very long wait for our burgers. There were about 10 people in the kitchen area and it seemed like just one person cooking. The food did come out perfect which is always a plus!

Google
The service here is impeccable, so much so that I had to comment. One gentleman in particular kept this plac3 running like a well oiled machine. Very clean and up to the Shake Shack name and standards. Service was relatively fast considering how many people were ahead of me.

Glen Mc Call

Google
First time in this service area. First time having breakfast from Shake Shack as well. The counter was very clean. I have to admit I HATE fast food places that only have computer screens to place your order. I like dealing with another human being! Food was fresh and perfect temperature. HOWEVER it took FOREVER from the time I placed my order and the time I received it. There were only two people ahead of me so I don't know why the long wait.

Google
Came here on a whim for lunch. The line went relatively quick and the employees seemed to want to hurry the food along for the customers. I got a double shack burger with fries and a vanilla milkshake. The burger was incredible and had amazing flavor. The shake was delicious too, however the fries were average- nothing spectacular about them. 100% recommend the shakes and the burgers though

Google
Great place to eat at a rest stop. The burger was solid, and the chocolate shake was delicious. However, the burger was pretty small for the price and the service was underwhelming.

Google
Tried this Shake Shack along the Garden State Parkway rest stop for the first time. It was past 8pm when we visited and there was no waiting in line to order. Kinda disappointed to see the serving size of the cheese bacon fries. It was smaller than what I used to get from another location.

Yelp
Grandchildren favorite spot. Good menus. Food is hot fresh and delicious. Prices are fine

Yelp
I would like to praise Gavin. While waiting I observed the crew, how they move, act, ans serve. It was a long 4th of July weekend so how to be happy when working? Ask Gavin. He was very efficient, enthusiastic and hard working. I saw him moving quickly to serve next customer. More and beyond- this was his attitude. As the food is always excellent this time I would like to applause this hard working kid. Thank you! I hope u r appreciated and valued accordingly $$$. Thank you!

Yelp
Delish! Can't wait to go back & order off the whole menu. The milkshakes are so good. Service was fast & the staff was nice. The best food I've seen in a rest area. Ambiance was nothing special.

Zach M.

Yelp
Service was good. Food was amazing! I don't think they could have cooked it any better! Great job guys!

Yelp
Shake Shack is a fast food chain that specializes in burgers and frozen custard. They also have fried chicken, fries and hot dogs. This location can be found off of Garden State Parkway in the Monmouth Travel Plaza. It was no surprise that I wasn't impressed with this place. The food is mediocre and overpriced. I might try Shake Shack again in the future, but it will be at a different location. Smokeshack - 7.5 Fries - 7.3 Food - 7.4 Service - 7.3 Value - 6.4 Restaurant score - 70

Yelp
This location is in the Judy Blume rest area on the GSP. I was starving and could not wait to get to the rest area so that I could chow down! This was my second visit there, so as expected, there were a lot of people waiting for their food. Ordering was really easy because they had a few touchscreens. While I waited for my food, I took the opportunity to use the restroom since I knew my order would take a little while. I took my food to go and then eat ate at tables they had outside. It was a beautiful day so I figured why not. The burger I had was really juicy, meaty and just plain delicious! My fries were crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. Perfection! I grabbed a free cup of water for my drink. Didn't taste like tap, which was surprising. I definitely plan on returning to this shake shack when I am hungry and driving on the Garden State Parkway.

Yelp
Fries were greasy and soggy and the urgers were ok but not exceptional. The food didnt live up to the hype
google avatar

Yelp
Shake shake I stop at this location often when driving on the parkway and as always no complaints here. Food is fresh and service is fast.

Yelp
Stop at the rest stop on my way to Atlantic City. They have added machines to take orders now instead of cashiers which was nice. Usually the food is ok but this time, I felt a little nauseous after eating it. Ordered smokestack well done with onions, tomatoes & lettuce with a sprite for him. I had classic well done, no tomatoes with cheese fries & lemonade. Ate some fries and started to notice the nauseous feeling. After I ate the burger, become really nauseous. Maybe it was a bad day
google avatar

Yelp
I completely adore this location. It is my half to my destination rest stop. Since opening the food is always fresh and hot. I never have a complaint with service. Everything is made to order and always very good. Even if the line is long the wait is fast paced. They did another upgrade so it's very clean and always being serviced by attendants.
google avatar

Inquiring M.

Yelp
This was my first time going to a shake shack at a rest stop but this was a great experience. Didn't feel any different from going to a stand alone location. The wait was just as long as I would wait at any other location but luckily the food also tasted as it did in any other location.

Yelp
How is it possible to see 6 people working and not one person actually handing out the drinks? They just sit there...everyone moving at snail pace it's insane
google avatar

Jennifer A.

Yelp
Came here to grab a bite on our road trip, it's located in a rear stop center. The line was short and the personnel at the register was polite and quick. The food even came out very quickly. The food was great and you could tell it was fresh (for fast food). We got double shack cheeseburgers. They even packed our cheese for our cheese in a container so it wasn't messy. The fries were nice and crunchy with that soft middle. I even used my cash app card to add my shake shack benefit of swiping and getting 15% back of my order $$ in Bitcoin. Don't have cash app? You should get it !
google avatar

Maggie B.

Yelp
This location was super crowded over Labor Day weekend. The line to order was quite long but the wait to get food wasn't too bad overall. They don't offer avocado as an added topping. They were generous with the portion size of fries.
google avatar

Ric T.

Yelp
This place is located on the Garden State Parkway rest stop around exit 100. The lines are long. Their burgers are overrated (expensive) yet their fries are stellar, even better than McDonald's. The soft drinks are packed with ice. In general this place is too expensive for what you get....yes I would come here again if necessary. Staff is friendly.
google avatar

Johnny W.

Yelp
Unbelievably slow service even though they had like 5 staff working. I have never been to a slower shake shack before and the cashier seem more interested in chatting than doing his work. I usually don't write such an aggressive review, but this illustrates the frustration they elicited in their many dissatisfied customers.
google avatar

Eric L.

Yelp
On a drive by back from the beach and wanted to get something to eat and decided to get shake shack. It's pretty okay just the portion is very small. They also don't sell chicken bites which is what I originally wanted. The service was nice tho can't complain about that :)
google avatar

Robin L.

Yelp
What a disaster. Got wrong order, didn't realize it til back in the parkway. Also got the skimpiest order of fries ever and so salty.
google avatar

Nicholas G.

Yelp
Shake Shack has really taken on a life of its own. I remember when it was only in madison square park with a line forming around the park to eat there. Now they have a location in every town. Good for them. This time I went with the double cheeseburger and chicken bites. Both solid. The chicken bites tasted fresher than usual at this location but maybe they just got a new batch in or something. The burgers aren't greasy and the flavor of the patty is good. It tastes fresh and that is why Shake Shack has been so successful. The shakes are always spot on and a guilty pleasure of mine. Solid place but in the end it is fast food so 5 stars would be a stretch.
google avatar

Yelp
Great pitstop when traveling on the garden-state, fresh and delicious just a little expensive
google avatar

Melissa N.

Yelp
Shake Shack is great and it was really cool to find this one that opened up with this new rest stop earlier this year. The only issue was that it seemed a bit chaotic in the back where the food was made/prepared. I definitely know that it takes awhile for better fast food, but there was a tremendous line to pick up orders. It didn't matter to me because I wasn't in a rush, but there were definitely people who were waiting 20+ minutes for their orders while other orders placed afterwards were served first. I think it's great that they have a Shake Shack at this stop. Hopefully, they can work out the time management so that it can stay here. I'd definitely stop here again on my way to AC :)
google avatar

Mariah J.

Yelp
This place has the best burgers around. I wish we had more locations in Nj! The service was prompt and there was plenty of seating due to it being in a rest stop.
google avatar

Kay D.

Yelp
OK so first I'll own that I'm not a shake shack junkie so when I stopped at the Monmouth rest stop to grab a quick pick me up on my way to the shore I found myself shocked to see that I had paid more than $6 for what seems to be a 120z shake (THAT WASN'T EVEN FULL!) McDonalds, Wendy's or if you wanna get fancy BurgerFi all sell theirs for $3- 4.50 range for this same size. I say "seems" because I can't find any information about sizing anywhere (not even the nutrition guide) it's like its a secret or something. Anyway, I digress... My point is NO FAST FOOD MILK SHAKE SHOULD COST $6! So yea... As if having my wallet raped wasn't bad enough, I had to wait 15 minutes for the pleasure.
google avatar

Stephy S.

Yelp
Shake shake located at a rest stop...what a pleasant surprise! It was super packed with beach traffic. Got burgers and they were really tasty. I'd recommend getting double patties vs single. Wish Shake Shack was closer! Lots of seating available (obviously bc it's a rest stop). Exit 100 on GSP.

Kareema A.

Yelp
The BEST Shake Shack that I've been to! I literally go twice a week, on my way home from work. So good and the workers are pretty nice!
google avatar

Marc C.

Yelp
Wow! This is probably my all time favorite fast food chicken sandwich. This was my first time ever having Shake Shack too. I opted for the chicken sandwich over the beef probably because all the craze about popeyes chicken sandwich. The sandwich is served on a potato bun, with pickles and a delicious mayo, but let's get to the chicken. It was an amazing piece of fried chicken. Thick, juicy, crispy, and super hot. The juices that drip down as you take each bite separates this sandwich from the other fast food chicken sandwiches. We had this @ the rest stop on the gsp at mile marker 100.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised to find a shake shack located at a rest stop on our way down the shore. Truthfully, I hadn't eaten at shake shack for a whileee, I kinda missed it Lol I'm very picky with where I order burgers from and the burgers at shake shack don't always do it for me. They are tasty but super greasy. Anyway, I'm not here to talk about the burgers (shocked?). At this shake shake we ended up ordering a chicken sandwich and a shroom sandwich, needless to say, this was going to be our breakfast. I've always been a fan of both these sandwiches. The chicken sandwich is super tender and juicy and the shroom sandwich is so unique. I remember having this when I first tried shake shack (when franchise was newly opened) and loved the idea of a veggie burger. We visited around noon. Staff was friendly and informative. Food didn't take that long to be ready. Prices are standard for shake shack, what did you expect?
google avatar

Mark A.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this wanting Starbucks and I'm glad we came to this rest stop, shake shack burgers were so fresh and delicious
google avatar

Tim S.

Yelp
Great burgers and milkshakes here. They're located on the Parkway at the rest stop in Monmouth around Exit 100. Pretty fast service the last few times I've stopped here.
google avatar

April N.

Yelp
I've ate here twice now. Today, they had no shakes or floats available. I mean, the name is "SHAKE Shack". So I ordered just a burger and a soda. The burger took 25 minutes. They are all cooked to well done so it's not like they are cooking them to specific temps. Both Starbucks and Auntie Anne's were closed (7:30pm) so there was no other choice for prepared food. As a truck driver, waiting 25 minutes for fast food on my dinner break is not fast enough. This isn't being respectful of my time. I also ordered a soda which they directed me to retrieve myself from the case. I got into my truck only to find the bottle of root beer did not have a twist off cap. Naturally, I don't carry a bottle opener in my work truck. My burger and soda (no fries) was $12 which honestly is a bit steep. 2 stars because the burger actually tasted good and the cashier was friendly despite being in the weeds.

Yelp
Friday evening, 28 Aug....first time ever going to shake shack....and it was last time ever going. This place is on the Garden State Parkway and you would think they'd have more people working for the amount of customers who had to wait. Literally 1/2 hour to get a $12 overrated burger. Plus....the collection area is chaos. Instead of using the screen above to alert customers as to who's food is ready, the set was blank and the worker stood at the counter barking out first names. What confusion when multiple customers with the same name showed up. And to top it off, they were closing at 830pm. Really? On a Friday night? Never again.

Yelp
PATHETIC, is the word I would use for this Shake Shack's existence. Shake Shack is a wonderful chain. And they almost never disappoint. But this location is a joke. This is a BRAND NEW rest stop and it is SAD. First of all, the rest stop isn't a separate spot I can review so it will go here. Considering this is a brand-new rest stop, it should be big in size, with a decent layout. This is NOT that. This is NEW and yet the worst designed rest stop I've visited in my life. It is minuscule in size compared to any other. COMPLETELY inefficient! Although the Shake Shack is probably a good choice any other time. This time you jut have to be lucky to even have a chance at getting an order in a timely fashion. The poor design is ineffective in making this an efficient stop to eat. Which is you know, the whole purpose of a rest stop. So, ya. I'd say Pathetic is the best word I can use to describe the mere existence of this establishment. Sorry Shake Shack but you made the poor decision in conducting business here.
google avatar

Brad A.

Yelp
Flawless cheeseburger. I cant remember when I had a burger this good. But the staff... too many of the cooks dicking around in the back. Show some hustle when you have a big line of people. The work ethic here sucks. Pricey but I get it, it's a rest stop area. It is meant to be over priced.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
Smoked double burger and cheese fries are what I always get. Prices are a little high, but I enjoy it greatly! Definitely get those 2!

Shane K.

Yelp
Food was amazing my girlfriend said herburger was delicious my burger was delicious the cheese fries are outstanding I recommend this spot for shake shack.

Mr S.

Yelp
Another great find on the GSP rest stop. In fact Shakeshack should be at every rest stop . Amazing burgers and fries. Wonderful team at this location as well.
google avatar

Rich B.

Yelp
Eight people in back (3 working) one on the register.. line of 10+. Order burger got cheese burger. Slightly overpriced for what you get but I consider it's on the parkway

John B.

Yelp
I have never been to shake shack before but had always heard about it. So driving down the garden State parkway I noticed shake shack at the new rest stop. So I pull in and got myself ready for the treat I've heard people talk about. First I think I misread the menu because I ordered the mushroom burger thinking it was like a burger with mushrooms and cheese on top. It was a mushroom. . Filled with cheese and deep fried. Crispy deep fried, way over like charcoal deep fry. $8 for that experience of a burnt mushroom. So I decided to give it another shot and went back for a cheeseburger. $7 for a single Patty that could compare I'm guessing with five guys single Patty Burger. It was not good, just average. So my little excursion cost me $21 but the fries were awesome. Not even going to talk about the milkshake but it is consistent with high-priced everything else, not worth the money. I'm so sorry I'm very disappointed
google avatar

Rich S.

Yelp
Good food. Burger fries shake $18. The staff is having a great time talking to each other. I see 12 people behind the counter. One is taking orders. 3 others behind the registers are not working. Talking joking laughing. Cooks and drink crew are hustling. Captive clientele, unless you want pretzels.

Andrew F.

Yelp
Today, I was driving down the Garden State Parkway on my way to a business function. I was looking for a quick coffee stop and discovered that the rest stop now has a Shake Shack. I had an innocent miscommunication about food allergies with a well-intentioned Shake Shack cashier--which was my fault, not hers--and I was running late, so I decided to just get a Starbucks and forgo the burger (even though I paid for it). As I was putting milk and sugar in my coffee, the Shake Shack manager approached me and asked how they could accommodate me. Just to set the scene, his place was busy and he had to walk out from behind the counter and come find me 20 yards away in a Starbucks. I assured him that it was completely alright and that there was really no problem. He insisted and made me a burger. It was a pretty amazing customer-service experience. He went well above-and-beyond, and I am now a forever loyal customer (the fact that the burger was delicious helps).
google avatar

Adam I.

Yelp
God awful food, slow service, burned burgers and a full cup of ice instead of soda. I would have returned the food and asked for a refund but I was on the highway already. Dont go to this location, it not only has horrible food and service, it is a total rip off.

Kaef R.

Yelp
20 min waiting for an order of fries. Nobody at fry station. Clearly understaffed and confused.
google avatar

Jerone S.

Yelp
Busy, busy, busy. But WORTH THE WAIT. This review won't be too long because there's not much else to say other than EAT HERE! The food is fresh and that makes for a much better meal. If you like good burgers, and great fries, then stop in if you're driving along the Garden State Parkway. They're at the newly renovated rest stop by Exit 91 going south.

Nancy B.

Yelp
Super rude workers. Says online that they are open until 10, but arrived at 9:30 and woman yelled at us that they were closed in a very nasty manner

Cynthia C.

Yelp
What a disappointment. Dirty looking employees. Took 4 employees and five minutes to get change from a $50 bill. The employees were arguing with each other. Cheese fries had watered down cheese over them. Burgers were just ok, no not even ok. I guess the shakes were good but no better than anywhere else. Sonic is even so much better. Would never go again.

Tom M.

Yelp
What was New Jersey thinking when they put Shake Shack in at the exit 98 rest stop in the GSP. I only heard second hand stories of the long lines waiting to secure a hamburger. I stopped in yesterday for a water and WOW, the line for Shack was enormous. Why would you put a made to order restaurant in a rest stop is a head scratcher.

Jordan W.

Yelp
Ill be honest, its not like the ones in nyc. This location is absolute garbage. Burgers were burnt and tasted bad and the mushroom burger tasted REALLY bad. Not sure if the food was sitting there for a while but hopefully anyone reading this will go somewhere else!

Brian O.

Yelp
Like most people who have been to the NYC Shake Shacks I was pleasantly surprised to hear they had come to the Parkway. I stopped in and found that customer service was unfortunately not up to the franchise standards. First off there were 11 employees behind the counter with only one (slow) register open. The employees seemed slow, distracted, and disorganized. They didn't seem to have much to do and weren't all that interested in doing it. The people in front and behind me both made a "special request", like no sauce and extra pickles. Both took numerous attempts at explaining this to the cashier and, I assume, the alleged manager. (A fellow who jumped into both the conversations but never identified himself and certainly never asked any of the employees to do any work). Both orders nevertheless came out wrong. Both times the workers badmouthed their customers as soon as they walked away from the counter. I ordered a regular burger and shake so didn't have that problem. I was most surprised when the food was de. An extra thick very chocolate shake just like the NYC shakes. And a juicy/greasy burger with fresh, crisp toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle). Just like NYC. So, just like the NYC Shake Shacks, this place is more expensive than the usual burger fast food. But it's definitely better fast food. A shame their is no quality control for the employees and their behavior.

lenny A.

Yelp
Stopped in while traveling home on GSP. Ordered a smoke house burger which is essentially a bacon Cheeseburger. What I received was 2 burnt dry over salted pieces of "meat" soMe cheese and the worst bacon ever. How can a burger be so bad that it made me miss the old Burger King? All this for $12 bucks! If this indicative of this chair, I don't see what the all the hoopla is about.
