Yelp
Like most people who have been to the NYC Shake Shacks I was pleasantly surprised to hear they had come to the Parkway. I stopped in and found that customer service was unfortunately not up to the franchise standards.
First off there were 11 employees behind the counter with only one (slow) register open. The employees seemed slow, distracted, and disorganized. They didn't seem to have much to do and weren't all that interested in doing it.
The people in front and behind me both made a "special request", like no sauce and extra pickles. Both took numerous attempts at explaining this to the cashier and, I assume, the alleged manager. (A fellow who jumped into both the conversations but never identified himself and certainly never asked any of the employees to do any work). Both orders nevertheless came out wrong. Both times the workers badmouthed their customers as soon as they walked away from the counter.
I ordered a regular burger and shake so didn't have that problem.
I was most surprised when the food was de. An extra thick very chocolate shake just like the NYC shakes. And a juicy/greasy burger with fresh, crisp toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle). Just like NYC.
So, just like the NYC Shake Shacks, this place is more expensive than the usual burger fast food. But it's definitely better fast food.
A shame their is no quality control for the employees and their behavior.
