I recently visited Shake Shack, and while the place was really nice and the staff was friendly, I wasn’t very impressed with the Nuggets. They didn’t taste as good as I expected. However, the atmosphere was great, and the service was excellent, which made the experience enjoyable overall. 🇺🇸

After enjoying the observation deck on the top floor, we needed dinner before heading back to hotel. Ordered fries, grilled cheese, and hot dog. We checked the food to ensure we got all items. However, when we get back in the room, the other side of the grilled cheese is completely BURNED....TOO TOUGH for my daughter to eat. I was so upset because it was too late to catch an Uber back to the restaurant to correct this problem. I called back and left a message. I'm waiting for a manager to return my call. The employee knew the grilled cheese was burned based on how they placed it in the bag. So piss🤬 I also sent an email to share@shakeshack.com tonight. Will wait for a response.

Google
Super disappointed. We usually LOVE shake shack and every restaurant we went to were great. But the one here is just sad. We placed an order through the kiosk and it automatically added 10% tip for a robot :/. Tip ONLY if you're seated and your order is being taken by a server. The food was average at best and messed up all ingredient. We got a chicken burger as well as the shack burger. We made a couple changes and NONE of them were ACTUALLY added. Marked down some on the side sauce and you guessed it.. none of them even came on the side. We went up to the counter hoping they could get it done right but were ignored for 3 minutes. Finally she came and just handed us a piece of cheese saying put it on the burger yourselves. Just no punctually and 0 stars for costumer service:/. Choose another shake shack if you want to actually get served and enjoy your meal.

Google
First time, last time. Everything was poor quality: the kiosk interface ergonomics for kids eye level and undeserved prompt for tip, the booths were dingy and worn and lighting dim, loud music and bad traffic flow. Food was a rip off and is not even as good as mcdonalds. Worst chocolate shake I've ever had, no lie, tastes like chocolate syrup or something, not impressed at all. Food presentation was slop, no fork for cheese fries, burger just out in the open for a take out, Everything was cold when I got home, except the shake, which became warm as it was not tasty enough to warrant gulping down. Zero stars, 2 thumbs down, get a new manager, wow. Over priced, wouldn't eat there again if it was half off, just not good.

Mark Carlson

Google
The small portions and indifferent taste is made up for by the high price of the food. The hot dog was truly interesting with more mayonnaise sauce than meat. On the bright side, I was notified my food was ready after 5 minutes and still got to wait additional 5 minutes for the food.

Google
This was my first time at a Shake Shack, I was surprised right away when ordering from the remote kiosk. The robot already includes a 10% tip when you finish your order. That’s right the robot is asking for a tip, I mean COME ON NOW. What has happened to dining out, that robots are asking for tips before the food is even made. Needless to say, they are already out to a terrible start. However the food, which cost an exorbitant amount for just a burger and shake, tasted like a lesser Five Guys. It was okay but nothing special. This small burger and shake cost me about $20. Not worth it at all.

Google
Not my first time to Shake Shack, but this time is the first time I wanted to leave a review. My burger was crazy good! It was called something Stacker, and it had a battered fried mushroom that was filled with molten cheese on top of the cheeseburger. Eat this burger immediately!

Sameer Ahmed

Google
The staff including the shift manager denied to accept cash and stated that they have no cash for a $100 bill as the counter was cleared due to shift change, it seems like a valid reason, but they were ignoring a customer request, which I found appealing and unacceptable. the fries and drink were tasty and until I found a card to pay with, the fries turned cold.. really disappointing customer service at this branch.

Yelp
Shake shack never disappoints. Got a double patty avo burger with gf bun and it was so flavorful and filling. Mango lemonade was a good mix of tangy and mango as well.

Yelp
I came by for a quick meal on my way to Union Station. I just got a burger which was pretty solid. I will say, Shake Shack felt like a premium price for a less than premium product and it took a while to get the burger, but it was still pretty solid. Maybe it's the Willis (Sears) Tower premium in there too, but overall it was alright.
google avatar

Yelp
Shake shack was relatively empty but the order took awhile to make. I ordered via the kiosk there. I was thinking that these items would be made relatively fresh and it was okay. I got the shroom burger, the shack stack, and fries. It was pretty pricey and everything was cold. The fries had no flavor and were soggy. I probably would not go back again. Honestly I don't see the hype of shake shack

Yelp
Popped in here last minute as I was leaving the building after the skyline view. Perfect for your late night snack. I got 2x of their traditional burgers and I couldn't resist ordering their hot dog with added crispy onions. This meal was the perfect stamp to end a wonderful night after viewing the Chicago skyline up above.

Yelp
Service was quick and it wasn't as busy which was nice. Food was amazing as usual. I got the shack burger and it was amazing

Yelp
I enjoy Shake Shack and they have one of the best chain fast food burgers around but for this location (Willis Tower), I am challenged with a few things: 1) No cashiers on hand. While I get that kiosks are there, they take 3x as long to order from. At least have one or two cashiers on hand. 2) Pace of getting orders out. They only have one speed no matter the line. It's not slow but it's certainly no where near fast. I only have so long for lunch. Overall, it's a decent place and the people are friendly but more work needs to be done on their operations and speed.

Yelp
We ordered from here as we were too lazy to step up out. The food absolutely exceeded my expectations. The black truffle hamburger was outstanding--absolutely delicious! The fries were perfectly crispy and cheesy, and both the vanilla and strawberry shakes were fantastic. I'll definitely be ordering from Shake Shack again!

Yelp
Shake Shack is a place that you go to knowing what you're going to get. This is a frequent stop for us as the food is consistent time after time. The prices are reasonable, service is fast, and the food is hot. You're not going to find elegant food here, but you will find a solid cheeseburger and fries. The restaurant is kept clean and well stocked. This will continue to be our go to when we need to grab and run in Chicago.
google avatar

Yelp
Service was horrible. They shorted us half our order. Granted they were busy but $51 paid for one coke, four mediocre milk shakes and a three waters. And then to argue for what the shorted us which was half the order. Hmmmm? Nope! Not a recommend. Sorry.

Yelp
Based in the Sears Tower, this Shake Shack is lacking nowhere when compared to its peers anywhere else in the city. ATMOSPHERE/ARCHITECTURE: 8/10 SERVICE: 8/10 Always get pretty good service from theme despite how busy it is. FOOD: 9/10 A nice Shake Shack centered in the Sears Tower, they deliver excellent fast food burgers in their price range. Contrary to their name though, I think their burgers are better than their shakes. Please try the mushroom stack burger because that one is quite fantastic! VALUE: 8/10 PROBABILITY OF RETURN: 10/10 TO EAT OR NOT TO EAT: Eat! Shake Shack is a classic that delivers quite well. OVERALL: 9/10

Yelp
At my visit to this Shake Shack, I got the dragonfruit pomegranate lemonade, bacon cheese fries, and the double shackburger. I was hungry but everything was good - the lemonade drink was perfectly refreshing but not overly sweet. My friend also the Korean fries of some kind and I actually loved those even more than my bacon cheese fries. The burger was good and just overall a solid meal for the neighborhood. Service was great and special shout-out to Ricky for his wonderful service.

Yelp
I have never had shake shack and I'm pretty particular about my burgers. After visiting the sky deck, we decided to grab a bite and I'm so glad we did! The patties were so crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. My burger was delicious and it came out. Just how I ordered it. The fries were crispy and fluffy and perfect! I wish I had a shake shack closer to home.

Yelp
First time ever trying Shake Shack. Think it's overhyped sadly. This location is located in the same building as the Willis Tower. We came here right after checking out the views at 360 Observation Deck. Technically self-service here. Order your item on the machine and then wait for your order to be called. Ordered a shack burger, strawberry milk shake, and a yuzu orange cider. This place is an expensive fast food. Think we spent almost $20 for these three items. Burger was ok, it's like a fast food burger. Very small. The milk shake was pretty thick and creamy. Really sweet. The yuzu orange cider was unique. Don't usually see this in a fast food places. Well, I can say that I tried it.

Yelp
Good spot, always solid food but pretty busy and not quick. Ordering was a mess - my order didn't pop up with my name and though I was one of very few people there, the person behind the counter didn't believe I was taking my actual food...because they had spelled my name wrong. Friendly staff but a bit chaotic during the main lunch rush. Good food though and preordering might be the best idea here - that process seemed solid.

Yelp
Quick convenient Shake Shack at Willis Tower. I'm regular here whenever I'm in town and have business to attend to at Willis Tower. Overall, this is a decent Shake Shack location. No complaint.
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
Staff is great. Dining area very clean. Burgers are good BUT not for what they charge. Has to be the most expensive burger, per bite! Burgers are small compared to other spots.
google avatar

Yelp
It's incredibly convenient to have one of the most addictive places to get burgers, fries, and shakes readily available in the Willis Tower. The burgers here are probably the standout with nice crispy edges on the patty, fresh vegetables between the layers, and a nice compressed but still fluffy bun to hold everything together. The fries are a little oily, but crispy and delicious with a nice strong potato flavor. The shakes are a meal by themselves, with a nice creamy texture and packed with tons of flavor. The prices are also fairly reasonable, in line with what you pay at higher end burger spots though the portions are a little smaller (but in line with pricing in this area of the loop).

Yelp
I just tried Shake Shack for the very first time today - the food was actually very good. I had the smoke burger with a side of spicy fries and a large Coke Zero. The smoke burger was actually very good, it was super fresh and very tasty, I was very surprised. The spicy fries also had a nice kick to them, I enjoyed dipping them in ranch. The cons: it took way too long to get a simple burger and fry when it wasn't even busy in the restaurant- it was 11 AM (not noon), and it took almost 15 minutes for the ton of employees to get the order ready. A burger, fries and drink also cost me $20 - which I think is pretty ridiculous for fast food, and they don't have a self serve coke machine - they fill it once for you behind their counter. Overall, I'd say the food is very good, the service and pricing is not very good. I'd go every once in a while, but you can get a better value for your money elsewhere.

Yelp
This restaurant is inside Willis Tower on street level. The day we visited Willis Tower was a total letdown due to 0 visibility from the observation deck. Saving grace was Ian being able to try out Shake Shack. We had ordered the following: Cheeseburger Hot Dog, and Fries. Total came to $15.83. Ordering at the Kiosk was super easy. A confirmation text was sent to my phone. When the order was ready another text was sent to go to the pickup area. Good instructions overall. Ian loved his Hot dog and Cheeseburger. Great quality meat, preparation & packaging.
google avatar

Yelp
I highly recommend Shake Shack if you have a little extra cash on you. It is fairly expensive for a burger, but I was not disappointed with the taste and service. Their cheeseburger is so simple but done so well. The fries are perfectly crispy and salted. And the milkshake is creamy and exactly what you would expect from a milkshake. Even in a busy environment like the Willis Tower, the service was fast and we found seating in the restaurant, but there is lots of other seating in the building.
google avatar

Jim G.

Yelp
Frozen custard is always a great dessert. I had the chocolate. Yum!
google avatar

Kimmie R.

Yelp
As far as fast or quick food goes this is a great option. Their fries, burgers, shakes and lemonades are fresh and delicious. You have a lot of options to order from if you are in this area, but if you are in the mood for a burger, have kids with you or not, or just want to eat alone in peace this is definitely a nice quick meal. Yay, Shake Shack! It's also a cheap option to have a meal in a landmark building if you are a tourist. Viva CHicago!
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
Single cheeseburger with fries and a 50/50 lemonade drink was great for a quick lunch. Under $12 and the people working there were helpful and friendly. There are a lot of nice seating options for big groups. Easy to order just be sure to read the screen- click the "+" sign to add the same item mtiple times, click the "Add" button to add it to your cart. If you don't indulge in a shake, in and out is a more tasty burger with non-wilted lettuce.
google avatar

Yelp
Conveniently located inside Willis Tower. There's an abundance of restaurants in this food court. Ordered and paid at the self serve counter. Picked up order when name was called. Standard Shake Shack. Condiment area was messy.
google avatar

Ryan D.

Yelp
Our company catered in Shake Shack from Willis Tower. I love Shake Shack and it only gets better when you don't have to pay for it. The lunch included cheeseburgers, French fries, and chocolate milkshakes. The food arrived warm and tasted awesome. The only thing better than Shake Shack for lunch is when there is enough to take home for dinner. My husband was super excited. I highly recommend Shake Shack from the Willis Tower. :)

Yelp
Overall (A) Only had the Cheeseburger Double and it was good. A bit pricey at $11 out the door. But good. If you are craving a burger - it will hit the spot Taste (A) It's good. Cheeseburgers melt in your mouth and had fresh ingredients. The burgers are warm and do not appear to be pre-cooked. Value (A-) A bit pricey. Around $11 out the door for a burger. But located in the Sears tower. Was hoping for a bit more meat for the price Service (A) I went super early and they were friendly and fast. You place your own order and then they text you and call out your name. Not much to write. Safe bet burger place at the Sears Tower
google avatar

Stacy H.

Yelp
Ordered the shackburger via web and it was ready on the pickup shelf when I got there. The burger tasted okay but a little soggy - the buns, lettuce, and especially the patty.
google avatar

Alex S.

Yelp
This is a pretty good location for a Shake Shack. I honestly expected it to be much more crowded since it is inside Sears Tower. The service was great and everyone was very helpful. The cashier, kind of hard to hear her. The burger was pretty good. I had the single shack burger. The fries were another thing. I honestly thought that they tasted just ok to not too enjoyable. Not salty enough and texture was a little off. The cheese fornthe fries tasted old and not very melted. The strawberry milkshake was amazing. While the fries weren't perfect, the employees deal with a huge lunch rush and still manage to have most orders done within 10 minutes.
google avatar

Sara H.

Yelp
The food is so good at this location. It always hits the spot. I only wish I lived closer so it was easier to come in.
google avatar

Cynthia H.

Yelp
I ordered the Smoke Shack burger and was disappointed. Sometimes food can taste better when I am hungry. I was starving when I went to Shake Shack, borderline hangry, and this burger still didn't cut it! And the center of the patty was nearly frozen. After that I tried Shack Shake once more nearly two months later and still had a poor burger. You are better off going to Five Guys if you want a fast-food burger.
google avatar

Angelique H.

Yelp
I've been having the urge to try Shake Shack for the first time, and my urge was deceitful to say the least. On a positive note location is convenient as well as the Kiosks located on the far right side of the restaurant. Spacious, and clean with a small seating area to wait. On to the food - this place is overhyped, and I'd prefer Chick-fil-A. I decided to try the Hot Honey Chick'n Bites w/the signature sauce that comes with it. The chicken bites were dry, and the seasoning wasn't spicy or had any Honey flavor at all; & the sauce just wasn't it for me either. I do however like the quanity + price for the bites. The kiosks are convenient as mentioned prior, however it defeats the purpose slightly if you still have to wait long periods of time. For my personal experience I wouldn't come back, however everyone's taste buds are different.

Yelp
Shake Shack has recently opened up a new location inside the Sears "Willis" Tower. This location is part of the Sears Tower makeover, so the interior itself is somewhat small with some seating. However many of the diners spill into the communal seating of the new but still-to-be completed Catalog food hall inside Chicago's tallest skyscraper. Catalog and its food vendors has proven to be quite popular with downtown office workers, construction workers, and tourists. This Shake Shack has always looked busy since its recent opening, but somehow I managed to order my early lunch today without encountering a line at all. Yes I actually stepped up to the counter to place my order with a human, but one can also let their fingers do the ordering upon one of the devices stationed near its Jackson street entrance (one can also enter through the Catalog lobby). My order came out within minutes, and the food was still very yummy when I ran my bag of food back to the office. The Smoke Shack burger is a single cheeseburger with a pile of applewood smoked bacon, chopped cherry pepper and ShackSauce. It was a flavor bomb of a burger, just messy and greasy enough to impress. I ordered cheese fries, and the crinkle cut fries came with the cup of dense cheese sauce in a cup so the fries were quite crispy down to the last fry. This Shake Shack lunch was very tasty and filling indeed.

Yelp
Finally a Shake Shack that I pass on the way to work. This is the perfect location for one. And it will either be one of the best things ever for me.... Or the worst. lol Text from my 9 yr old "Have you passed Shake Shack yet? Can you bring me home a burger?" This is becoming a common question. I've yet to find a fast food burger restaurant with better customer service than SS. I've yet to find a fast food burger place who makes better burgers. Good, sure. But not better. But, as a pastry chef, I assure you that man cannot live by burgers alone. Pies and ice cream are needed too. And their amazing concretes are made from pies made in the best pie shops in the area. But to add to that, they donate 5% of sales from their concretes to the Greater Chicago Food Depository -a nonprofit that provides food to hungry people across Chicago. With those two facts, how can you walk out without one?
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
The newest Shake Schack location in Chicago and another one in the Loop. Excellent! As far as fast food burgers go, you'd be hard up to find one better than here. If you've never been to any SS location then wait no longer. Your seach for a meal is over. Stop reading and go get a Shack Buger w/ fries and a shake. Trust me. Because I am not exaggerating when I say that the Fast Food Burger Triple Crown is: Shake Shack, In-N-Out, and Five Guys If you have been before then you'll be happy to know that this location represents the franchise very well. Situated in the newly build Willis (Sears) Tower lobby there is ample seating inside and plenty more out in the atrium. The friendly staff takes orders quickly and either hands you the typical buzzer or takes your phone number to text you when your order is ready. During my visit, shortly after opening day, they were still ironing out some kinks and there was a little bit of organized chaos. However, the food did not suffer as it was the hottest and freshest-tasting Shack Burger I've ever had. Ditto for the fries. I was elated to see the friendly green burger sign while randomly roaming past one day and was content to discover that all is well at this location. They're going to do well, if for no other reason than my future patronage.
google avatar

Mike D.

Yelp
When you just gotta have a good burger, fries, and shake, Shake Shack will never do you wrong. I mostly hit this l place up whenever I'm traveling because they don't have one anywhere near where I live, but if they did, I'd probably go pretty regularly. It's comparable to portion size, taste, and price to The Habit.
google avatar

Jada G.

Yelp
First time here at shake shack, I ordered the smoke shack, with no cheese. Only options for cheese were American, and I can't stand American cheese. I also got the cookie butter shake which was actually delicious! For the burger and shake i spent $15, kinda pricey, especially since it didn't include fries, boo hoo. I would say the place is kinda over hyped, would rather much prefer, Freddy's Steakburgers. Side note: they have these monitors, about 6 of them, by the entrance to order and pay for your food, if you don't want to wait in line to place your order!
google avatar

Tim O.

Yelp
I was rather joyed to unshackle from my desk during the Friday lunch hour today and find a Shake Shack in a beautifully remodeled lobby that I have somehow not realized has existed for several months. My food was ready exactly five minutes after ordering. By the time I got back to my desk, it was still piping hot. I swore off Shake Shack years ago after having a few bad experiences but I'm really happy that I gave it another shot. It was awesome. You can taste the difference in that these ingredients really are top of the line for a fast-food burger place. I see some people are criticizing "small portions" which I find pretty weird. A double burger is 790 calories which with fries is a pretty respectable lunch portion. I'd be lying if I didn't admit to eating the double-double today with fries, but when you're spending $20 for almost 2000 calories I don't see how one can complain.
google avatar

Wendy H.

Yelp
The bathroom door is super heavy. Lol. I had to ask for the code 2x only to find out I'm just weak. But I never noticed the buns weren't cut all the way through. Helps seal in the juices. It was pretty cold but it's because it's close to the doors and the revolving doors are always used. It was pretty clean. I liked that I didn't have to talk to anyone to order my food. It didn't take too long for our order. It was pretty standard.
google avatar

Salena S.

Yelp
Came in on a Saturday during lunch time. Was not crowded at all, probably due to the construction outside, it's a little difficult to tell if they're open. Overall, it's meh. It's your typical fast food burger place. *Positives: there are multiple monitors to place your order in the event there is a long line. food came out quickly and correctly *Not so positives: fries were cold Burger was at most barely warm Would maybe try again.

Arthur H.

Yelp
During a midweek lunch rush you may find your order taking a while, but you can count on the great staff to work as fast as possible cranking out good quality burgers and helping people find their to-go bags. In the lower floor of the sears tower, find a modern comfy spot to eat.
google avatar

Rai R.

Yelp
Located Sears Tower small location and in a Sunday only 1 employee so slow . Does have seating so good . Ordered cheeseburger fries and milkshake

Pamela S.

Yelp
Perfect bite at the end of a long day. And we only came upon it because one of two places open until 9 pm. Thank you for feeding weary conference attendees from out of town. Hospitality better than most too!!
google avatar

Jeff C.

Yelp
Not sure what the hype for shake shack is. Tried the burger, hot dog and nuggets. Burger was okay, nuggets were dry and the sauce that came with was pretty meh. The hotdogs they cut in half vertically to cook. Never had a hot dog like that before and it was partially burned.... Service was quick and easy though. Might stick with mcd or Carl's instead

Kaitlyn F.

Yelp
went around 7:40 got 2 burgers 2 fries and 2 fountain sodas. fries cold as ice and we thought that would be the only complaint but we didn't even make it home before one us were puking. not really a big fan of food poisoning.

B J.

Yelp
Great fast food. Very busy but service is able to keep up. One of my favorite fast food places
google avatar

Misa T.

Yelp
I love shake shack and go to the downtown location quite often. However, this location really needs improvement. I went on opening day, which I knew was going to be busy. I waited about 25 mins in line to order and then another 15 mins for my food. This location has order kiosks but none of them were functioning. Online ordering said the earliest pick up time was about an hour out. The scanner wasn't even working that day. I know opening day is expected to be very busy but I think it could've been executed much better. I agree that the food is definitely pricey, but I do love the shack burger and cheese fries.
google avatar

Carmalitta B.

Yelp
I ordered their chicken sandwich and it was delicious! I love the ranch sauce they have omg! Yes they are great
google avatar

Annie K.

Yelp
Ah shake shack.. sure their burgers are small and kind of over priced but they are delicious and juicy and consistent. That is what keeps me coming back. Unfortunately this location is definitely sub-par as other reviewers have mentioned and I'll probably just walk the extra few blocks to the Michigan ave one next time. The burger patty was abnormally dry and was barely saved by the cheese and sauce. Two stars because the fries were fine. This location also has a kiosk where you can order and pay. You're required to input your phone number so they can text you when the food is ready. I didn't like providing my phone number but whatever, I did it. Ten minutes later I realized my order was up even though I hadn't received a text. Another 30 minutes later as I was finishing my food I got a text saying my order is ready. Uh...
google avatar

Kenneth K.

Yelp
Food tasted great, atmosphere was pleasant. The portions for the price however were small.
