In College Park since 1993, this tiny diner does from-scratch breakfasts—smoked salmon Benedict to banana-nut French toast. Winner of Orlando Sentinel Foodie Awards and praised by veteran critic Scott Joseph for soulful, unpretentious cooking.

It’s a cozy restaurant close to downtown Orlando. Great place to experience a different atmosphere and try for breakfast. They have a good selection of breakfast meals all very delicious. I tried their eggs with sausages very delicious but too salty. The only downside of it was that the water tasted like tap water with no filtration. Overall it is a good place to try once in a while.

Google
Our first time here. Coffee was smooth. The scramble eggs were cooked perfectly, good sausage patties and my husband liked his bacon. We both had the avocado toast and were thrilled with our choice. We've tried a lot of different avocado toast out there and this was top notch. Chunks of creamy avocado, red onion, goat cheese and kalamata olives. So, so yummy. Can't wait to go back and try lunch

Came here one day for breakfast, because this place has won a lot of awards, I've heard about it for a while, and it was just time to check it out. So we arrive, get seated, and start ogling at the reasons behind the name of the restaurant. Salt and peppers, Everywhere. It's honestly very pleasantly overwhelming. Shelves upon shelves upon shelves on every wall, every pillar, the windowsills, even the front counter. It was very cool. I was a big fan. It certainly made for endless amounts of looking around during the entire meal. Service was really good. There was only one server when we got there upon opening, but she was really efficient. Really friendly. No issues with service. As for the food, it was so good. I can't remember which omelets we got, as they were specials written on the chalkboard, but overall, their omelets were great. A good amount of egg, a good amount of filling, and something nice that not a lot of places do, an accent of what's inside decorated over the top of the whole thing. Very classy. Very delicious. Sides were great, too. Great amount of char on the potatoes, cooked all the way through, seasoned just right. And the hash browns were mega crispy on top, like a super version of Waffle House. Very good. I also got a side of an everything bagel, which was very toasty and very well buttered. Overall, this was a very good breakfast spot. A lot of spots are kind of lackluster nowadays, but this place had a lot of luster! I will definitely be back.

My mom and I decided to eat at this establishment before venturing to Lake Eola for a morning walk. The breakfast at Shakers was fantastic! I had the vegetarian omelet with hashbrowns and a homemade biscuit and my mom had a giant croissant with a side of bacon. I ordered a breakfast sandwich to-go for my son. The staff was friendly and attentive. The plethora of salt and pepper shakers throughout the restaurant adds a nice warm and welcoming touch. I found that the food was reasonably priced and the portions were healthy.

Went here while visiting Orlando. Despite the reviews I read online I found that this food is mediocre at best. Maple bacon glazed pork belly was neither braised or Maple glazed. The pork belly was so chewy I couldn't eat it. The so called glaze was actually Maple season dry spice that was heavy-handed and put on the top of eggs. My English muffin was Burnt. My husband crab and asparagus omlet was ok. The asparagus was not prepared right.

Google
Orlando, FL. So Steve’s mom collected salt and pepper shakers. Anything that reminds him of his mom is a comforting thing, so I knew he’d love this place and boy did he ever. He took pictures galore and sent them to his brother and his high school buddy. They loved the place too. Food was good and plentiful, service genuinely sweet and attentive. Mushrooms were old and decrepit. I took them out of my salad. But everything else was delicious!

Google
Nice, small restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch all day. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. I had the blueberry pancakes and they were delicious with just a hint of cinnamon. The decor is very whimsical with little figurines lining the walls and just made it feel like a down home mom and pop restaurant. I would definitely recommend to my friends to go there.

Google
This place is SOMETHING else! I've known about it for maybe a month and think I've been there over half a dozen times. The food is just incredible every time with such reasonable prices. The cinnamon pancakes are a must order even if you just end up taking them home you have to try them! And the salmon Benedict blows my hair back every time despite having ordered it a few times already.

Yelp
Always looking for a good local breakfast place in Orlando. Had no idea this place was around and looked good on yelp. Went to check it out with cousins in town heading back to Jersey so met on the way. The food was great! A little cold, probably sat around for a minute but whatever lol. We ate outside and the weather was nice as fuck. I had the beef tip hash, pretty good. My wife had the crab/asparagus omelet, really good. DO NOT try to move the tables! Bolted down and after trying, I realized a big ass sign that said that lol. I would say check it out at least once!

Yelp
This is a solid spot for a good breakfast with a diner vibe! When you walk in you will see a huge collection of salt and pepper shakers lining the walls (hence the name... I was thinking of a different kind of shaker) and different shakers on every table. We stopped in for breakfast after my wife and friend ran a 5K. The place was packed but we were seated quickly and the service was efficient and attentive. I ordered avocado toast (no sides since I'm a vegetarian and I hate eggs) from the chalkboard specials and a side of hash browns with onions. I'm so used to Waffle House that I was surprised when the hash browns came topped with caramelized onions! The avocado toast was also loaded with feta, olives, tomatoes, and onions. It's nothing fancy, but I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a tasty and casual breakfast experience.

Yelp
Food: the food is good. I liked the pancakes. Their sausage on the other hand tasted like it came out of the microwave so we are not fans of that. The food came out hot. Their size of grits for the price is not great so I won't get that again. Service: they were quick to seat us and serve us. The server was nice. Ambiance: cute little place that can be packed. They have tons of salt & pepper shakers. I was trying to see if they had a corgi.

Yelp
I absolutely loved the salt and pepper shakers decorated all around the restaurant! It was so fun looking around to see everything. Better yet, the food was amazing! Everything on the beef short rib hash was flavorful! The meat was tender with crispy edges and I really liked the biscuit! The staff were so nice and friendly. I will definitely be going back!

Yelp
Pros: Ambiance was very quaint. It was nice and local-owned feeling. And it was a ton of fun looking around during the whole meal looking at the hundreds and hundreds of salt and pepper shakers around us. Very cool. Service was excellent. We got there when it opened, so there was only one server in the whole diner, but she took very good care of us. Coffee cups were never empty. And the food, very good. Both omelets we had were a great portion size and were filled with the toppings we chose. Great carbs on the side, too, like my hash browns. Cons: Not a single con. Everything was great about this place. Tips: Get any omelet. If you like bagels, they have them.

Yelp
Great local breakfast cafe with amazing food. Everything is fresh and the food comes out really fast. There's plenty of seating inside and out. I got the avocado toast and it tasted great. My friends loved their food options as well! Definitely recommended.

Yelp
This is definitely one of my favorite go to breakfast spot! Great old school diner, delicious food, and an eclectic decor full of fun quirky salt and pepper shakers from floor to ceiling The staff is really friendly and service is quick. I love their flat top grilled biscuits and muffins... it just gives the biscuits such an amazing texture. I had to bring some More-ish Sauce Thai hot honey with me to drizzle over my biscuit on the last visit OH MY We love supporting small family owned businesses, so this is definitely a solid yummy place for breakfast or lunch that we're regulars at. Thanks for all the yumminess!!

Yelp
We returned to Shakers for breakfast (after our first visit only a couple months ago). It was a Sunday around 10:30 AM which is a prime time for breakfast. There was a huge line at the door, people waiting outside, and people leaving. I waited in line for about 5 minutes to get our name on a list. By the time I got to the front, the gentleman at the door had a table for us right away. He was really keeping things moving. It looked like at that moment that the restaurant had a huge turnover. We only got one menu because we heard someone say there was a "shortage." We looked around and almost every table had people looking at menus. One menu was really okay with us because we usually order a "special" breakfast off the chalkboard anyway. The menu has mostly just breakfast basics. I ordered the Maple Pork Belly Benedict and my partner ordered the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes (again). Considering the crowd, we were super surprised when the breakfasts came out so quickly from the kitchen. Ordering eggs benedict is always a crapshoot for me. The eggs are supposed to be runny, but they are only about 50% of the time wherever I order them. The eggs at Shakers were perfectly cooked for my benedict. The egg yolk spilled out onto the English muffin, making everything very creamy. The maple pork belly gave it a salty and sweet taste. I couldn't have been happier. In fact, everything was fantastic for our 2nd visit. The food, the service, the wait time.

Yelp
Very good diner-style breakfast place that has lots of different options including lunch items like hearty sandwiches. The coffee option is limited to just brewed coffee, no cappuccino or latte. The service was fast, efficient and friendly. My quiche Lorraine was a nice portion. It came out hot. The crust was flaky, the egg was fluffy. The hash brown was crispy and delicious. Would definitely recommend for locals and tourists.

Yelp
This is a great spot with great food and service. We sat outside with a party of five. The server was friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. The prices were good for a breakfast spot too. We would return

Yelp
We had a Friday off so decided to try out Shakers for lunch. It was busy for a Friday afternoon so I imagine on weekends they get pretty packed! We were quickly seated. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The inside is on the smaller side, very casual diner vibe with unique salt and pepper shakers on the tables and walls. I chose the blackened chicken club and my bf chose the mom's meatloaf sandwich. We also got a side of corned beef hash to share. The corned beef hash had a nice crisp on it and was tasty. Both sandwiches were huge. My bf enjoyed his meatloaf sandwich and I enjoyed the taste of it I took also. My chicken sandwich had well prepared chicken and was tasty. I could have used a bit more blackened flavor, but still enjoyed it. We both took half a sandwich home to enjoy later. Overall, this is a cool spot and I'd definitely return to try more items!

Yelp
Normally pretty good for breakfast but the last few weeks have not been. I'm given forks to eat grits and grits that are raw and clumpy along with half raw bacon. I guess nothing lasts forever. ‍

Yelp
Everybody loves a good breakfast place and when I saw Shakers on Yelp, I knew we had to try it. My husband, toddler son, and I visited Shakers last weekend and we had a really pleasant experience. The restaurant is small and has simple decor . There was plenty of available parking. We were seated quickly and given a high chair for our son. My son enjoyed looking around the restaurant at all the different salt and pepper shakers. We were seated quickly. My son started with the chocolate milk, I got hot chocolate, and my husband enjoyed a hot coffee. My husband got the quiche Lorraine with fresh fruit. The quiche was delicious and filled with lots of herbs and flavor. I split the cinnamon roll pancake special with sausage patties and scrambled eggs with my son. The pancakes with cream cheese icing were the perfect mix of cinnamon goodness and fluffy pancake. I was given sausage links instead of patties, but the waitress made it right and quickly brought over a couple sausage patties. Both my son and I enjoyed our meal, he loves pancakes and cinnamon rolls so what could be better than cinnamon roll pancakes?! Rating from an F to A+++, I give it an A++.

Yelp
Rounded up from 4.5 but 4 stars wouldn't do it justice. Cute decor - some outside seating - the walls are covered in Salt and Pepper shakers! So cute. They have daily specials on the wall - we did the Maple Pork Belly Benedict, Short Rib Hash, and the Mediterranean omelette. The coffee roast was excellent. The Cinnamon Roll Pancake was the star of the show! Great service and who I assume is the manager came by to check on us. Definitely worth checking out!

Yelp
I never knew the meaning behind the name. However, when you enter the restaurant - you immediately get it. The walls are lined with tons of salt and pepper shakers. It makes for great conversation as you look around and point out all the unique ones. The parking lot is on the smaller side but I secured a spot on the side of the building and got sat right away. Our server immediately came to the table and took drink orders. So many good options of breakfast food and sandwiches that it was hard to decide. I landed in The Smokey with chips and a pickle. The food came out pretty quick and my sandwich was delicious. I especially liked the flavor of the deli mustard on my sandwich. The size of the sandwich was much bigger than I anticipated, which was a nice surprise. Definitely a solid spot for a relaxed vibe and good food.

Yelp
I visited for lunch with a friend and we had an amazing experience. Shakers has authentic comforting diner food and we absolutely adored it. The staff are amazing and everyone was so welcoming and quick. To eat, I got the smoked salmon and spinach eggs Benedict. The eggs were perfectly poached, the hollandaise sauce was rich, and there was plenty of salmon and capers. I got home fries on the side and they were well seasoned. The portion was a great size and a good value for the price. They have such a funky cute dining area and outdoor seating as well. We sat outside and loved the street view of College Park. This is such a unique place with great food and friendly service!
google avatar

Heather B.

Yelp
Quaint little restaurant. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The inside is cozy. The walls are covered in salt shakers which is pretty cool. Our waitress was amazing. Super sweet and very attentive. Our table ordered different breakfast dishes. I had scrambled eggs, sausage, hasbrowns and sourdough toast. Everything cooked perfectly and came out hot. Would definitely return when I am back in the area.

Yelp
Added an extra star cause the service was friendly, but yikes the food was a big letdown, especially after the rave reviews. Would consider giving it one more try, but a little hesitant after spending $50+ tip for breakfast for two and the food being actually bad and came out cold. I ordered biscuits and gravy, a side of home fries, and coffee, my friend ordered the beef hash special, orange juice, and we ordered a half order of french toast. After a longer wait, everything came out cold and we were one of three tables sat in the restaurant. The french toast was the biggest disappointment: basically stale and dry toast. It seemed like it was a day or two old and had simply been reheated. Zero moisture. My home-fries were cold and incredibly salty. The biscuits and gravy tasted good, but again, not hot. My friend said his roast beef hash was cold, his eggs tasted fine, also not hot. Somehow all of that added up to $50. Maybe it was an off morning but it seemed like whoever was running the kitchen on 7/24 did not care at all what was sent out, and for those prices I would be hesitant to return in this economy.

Yelp
I dropped in on a busy Saturday morning for breakfast. I was happy it was just me because the small restaurant was very busy. They seated me at a two top inside. They also offer outside dining. The hostess was very pleasant. Might have been the owner I ordered the short rib hash with well done potatoes and two over easy eggs. There were sweet potatoes and golden potatoes that were delicious. The short rib beef was cooked perfectly. The dish came with a house baked biscuit . Breakfast cost $18 plus tax and the tip. The service was great and I will be back again
google avatar

Yelp
Small and homey. Good breakfast food. Portions sizes are just right. Price is great. Everyone was friendly and attentive. Definitely a place to stop by.

Chante' M.

Yelp
The food is delicious. It's like being at a bed and breakfast without the stay. The staff is friendly and the menu specials rotate enough to add variety while kept staples. The parking lot has plenty of space but the overflow street parking is easy, convenient and FREE. I've been on weekends as well as during the week and received the same quality of food and service. A great way to start your day.
google avatar

Briana J.

Yelp
The diner like feel is exactly what it should be. You're welcomed with a warm greeting and able to seat yourself. Unfortunately, the food left much to be desired. It was rather bland. And the biscuit was dry! The server wasn't very observant. I responded to her check in by saying things were just ok. I also let her know that the salt and pepper shakers were revered and I had accidentally doused my food in salt. She replaced my eggs but left the shakers which I offered to her to correct at the table. I try to give second chances. But I'm not sure how soon I'll be back.

Yelp
amazing!! had the best Reuben sandwich I think I've ever had. Ever. service was great! the unsweet tea was fresh! hubby had a turkey melt and soup. Great food! photo is my leftovers!

Yelp
Last week, we had a solid 4.5-star experience, so we came back, expecting another great meal. Today? A generous 1-2 stars. Let's split the difference. I ordered a crab asparagus omelette with hash browns. The omelette was the only good part--everything else went downhill fast. Our server vanished after dropping off our food, and my husband had to wave at her four times before she finally noticed us. We even flagged down another server just to get a coffee refill and let someone--anyone--know that my hash browns were missing. By the time my sad, lukewarm hash browns finally arrived, I was already done eating. So yeah, paying $35 (before tip!) for this underwhelming breakfast was disappointing to say the least!

Yelp
I love this hidden gem! If you're looking for a delicious breakfast sandwich this is the spot! If you looking for a delicious budget friendly breakfast this is your spot! Its small on the inside (and stays busy, I went recently on a Monday and it was full inside) but I enjoy dining on their patio when it's nice out. I've been here twice, the last two times I visited Orlando. I never get a chance to take pics of my food so you'll have to trust me on this one! I get the breakfast sandwich on a grilled croissant with Bacon (they make it crispy!), American cheese, scrambled eggs and add avocado. I'm drooling just thinking about it! I also add the side of potatoes which are grilled with onions and a fresh OJ. YUMMM!! The staff are also always really nice. I thoroughly enjoy easting here. Next time you're in Orando give Shakers a try!!
google avatar

Yelp
Shakers still makes the best breakfasts in town! My new favorite is the breakfast quesadilla. It's perfect!

Yelp
Came in for some breakfast with my husband & kiddos. The breakfast was pretty good, I liked the cinnamon roll pancakes and toast. The bacon was a bit soggy. The restaurant was cute and small. The outside dining area was nice as well. We did eat inside , our server was very nice and welcoming.

Yelp
One of the best Sunday morning breakfast spots you will find in Orlando! Good luck grabbing a table though, this place gets BUSY. I have been on multiple occasions now. It is always worth the wait. They are a well oiled machine and handle business perfectly. I took a chance on their corned beef and potatoes and it was delicious. Portion sizes are plentiful. Coffee is topped up regularly before your cup becomes empty. Staff are very hard working and run around like crazy. The restaurant itself, like the name states, is full of salt and pepper shakers. Sounds quirky, but it's really cool to look at some of them. They are so unique. Prices are what you would expect - a lot for breakfast food, but no more than the going rate these days. Cheaper to buy the ingredients yourself and cook at home, but if you're going to go out and eat... Shakers is your spot.

Yelp
Edgewater truly has the best cozy diners - Shakers American Cafe is no exception! Aptly named, the walls are covered with eclectic and different salt and pepper shakers - you'll also find these at your table! Very charming. We got there before 11 and were easily able to get a table for our group, and I'd recommend getting there before the lunch rush around noon! We were a little slow to arrive and were celebrating a coworker, but I will say the service was a tad slow. We had to work to get our server's attention when our group was complete, but the food was quick enough to come out. I got the avocado and bacon omelette from the specials menu, and it was a great choice! The omelette was stuffed to the brim with cheese, tomatoes, and bacon, and the avocado on the top added a great fresh element. Of course, in true diner fashion, I got two carbs with it - the hashbrowns (crispy and delicious) and a biscuit (grilled and delightful with some butter). This place is great bang for your buck and has a ton of both breakfast and lunch options. I'd return for sure!

Constant T.

Yelp
We used to go here a lot. It was our weekly routine. But we recently went with our family and was incredibly disappointed. Food took 30-45 minutes to come out, wasn't that busy, we only ordered 2 pancakes and 2 eggs for the kids. Didn't put our own orders in because of how long it was taking. When the food finally came out, there were multiple black hairs in the pancakes, couldn't eat it. They had obviously hit the ground in transit. Later, when walking to the bathroom we peered into the kitchen area and saw the biscuits in an open plastic bin sitting on the floor and a very dirty area. We sat outside and one of the cooks from the kitchen lit a black and mild and started walking around where everyone was eating. Just an all around poor experience.

Jim G.

Yelp
6/25 I believe that they are under new ownership. The inside is not as homey as in years past. About half as many "Shakers" now. Also , Why would you Ever put Relish In coleslaw? The chicken salad sandwich was ok but now has No lettuce or tomato. Service was friendly.
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
This is a very family and dog friendly place! Theres a selection of breakfast meals!

Vanessa C.

Yelp
This was a delicious breakfast. The wait time was around 35 minutes but it was very full. Once we got the food it was worth it. I was visiting Florida and it was the best breakfast I had.
google avatar

Yelp
Shaker's is a hidden gem! The food was sensational. Maple glazed pork belly Benedict, chorizo and goat cheese omelette and so much more. Service was excellent to boot!
google avatar

Greg M.

Yelp
The service!! The pleasant attitude of the owner and the server made the experience. The food was good, fresh and pretty quickly supplied. I wish they would have heated the exterior seating from the uncharacteristic chill in Orlando but hey, the service!!
google avatar

Jordyn C.

Yelp
Always come to this place for breakfast. First the decorations are just so cute, and the food is delicious especially the home fries. The sweet tea here is in my opinion some of the best in Orlando. And the service is always great the staff is very kind and friendly.

Yelp
Got this placed delivered on uber eats and not gonna lie I can't wait to go back and get it fresh. It was amazing morning after working till 4:30AM I would give this place 10 stars if possible!

Yelp
Large portions. Friendly staff. Inside & outside seating. Excellent service. Highly recommended. Look forward to eating here again.

Yelp
Brunch, baby! Headed out on Sunday for a quick bite on Edgewater and selected Shakers. It didn't dawn on me that it was called that until I noticed all the salt and pepper shakers on the walls. It was a small place but they had indoor and outdoor dining. It was busy, but we got lucky and only had to wait about 10 minutes to get seated around noon on Sunday. The specials sounded and looked great - and they were! They also had an extensive regular menu. Service was friendly and attentive. We had the crab omelet, pork belly Benedict and a regular breakfast platter. The food was really great and large portions. We all left full and happy with a little leftovers too.

Annette M.

Yelp
Really good club sandwich probably the best in Orlando to me. Meatloaf sandwich is also outstanding. Only thing wrong is I ordered a cheeseburger with nothing on it and they put lettuce, tomato, and onion, hope it was just a slip up. Will still recommend the food.
google avatar

Yelp
Very cute spot with a small parking lot. Our waitress was Jill who was super sweet and very helpful . Food: Cinnamon roll pancakes - not a huge pancake person but it was soooo good i would order it again. It's not too much cinnamon but the right touch , fluffy and very filling. Comes with two sides. Crossiant- wasn't my fav. It was overly toasted Chicken fajita omelette- pretty delicious as well. It comes with one side . I choose the home fries and some were undercooked but the ones i did eat were good. Drinks : Kept it simple with a black coffee and OG. Unfortunately they didn't have any hot chocolate This place must be a favorite because we also saw a movie star here as well. Definitely a must try if you're in this area

Yelp
Wonderful breakfast-brunch spot in the middle of Orlando! Our server Emily was so delightful and sweet. She gave us recommendations on what she liked and the popular dishes people order the most. We ended up ordering the Maple Glazed Pork Belly Benedict and the 2 Pancakes, 2 Eggs, 2 Bacon, and 2 Sausage dishes. Both were hot, fresh, delicious, with so much flavor! The prices are fair for the amount of food you receive so definitely worth every penny. Highly recommend to anyone to check them out! P.S- The cinnamon roll pancakes I ordered with my plate.. our server gave me the tip to not put syrup on them because they would of been WAYY TOO SWEET. Boy was she right that was a great tip haha.

Yelp
Simple breakfast came out hot and fast. Loved seeing all the salt and pepper shakers everywhere.

Yelp
I absolutely love Shakers! The food is superb and the service is outstanding. I am from out of town and I never miss a chance to enjoy a meal at Shakers when I am in town. Often more than one. Cosy, friendly and wonderful food. How can it ever be better? No way. Thank you Shakers.

Yelp
We started off with there beef and cabbage soup , it was tasty but hardly any beef , I had the BLT and my other half had there patty melt , huge sandwich's to say the least comes with a bag of chips and a pickle , server was quick and good came out fast. The restaurant decor lives up to its name , salt and pepper shakers everywhere.. different but nice .. we do recommend trying it out .
