The setting is grand and impressive, and the environment is comfortable and spacious. Even without booking a private room, the seating was still quite comfortable. I brought my family and ordered the three-way Peking duck, but it was very disappointing. There was very little crispy duck skin, and I couldn’t taste anything particularly delicious. The duck soup was also very mediocre. The dishes were beautifully plated, but the taste was just average. Luckily, the elders were not picky. Given the price, it was quite disappointing.

Worst Shang Palace I have been to anywhere in the world. Food not right at all - certainly not Cantonese even when it says Cantonese. Service appalling. Atmosphere non existent. It feels like a rundown restaurant where the staff really don’t want to be working. Our conclusion was this was like a food court so don’t go with any expectations of this as a restaurant or of service. Shocking damage to the Shang Palace brand. Dark and run down, wobbly table but no attempt to fix it, freezing Aircon - everyone wearing coats inside - staff acknowledge but nothing changes, wine arrives after our first two courses, staff running around but achieving little. It turns out the star of today was our street food lunch - we’ll just try to forget this dinner experience.

Booked the private room and the interior/vibes feel high class. Additionally, the service from Sandy, Yannis, William, and Josh was excellent. We ordered the duck for dinner and it was one of the best I've ever had. Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for an exquisite dining experience!

I really like Shang Palace’s duck, and this visit was my first time trying their seafood fried rice. It’s now among my favorite fried rices. If you order duck, you can choose either congee or tomato soup. I can imagine some being too full to stomach congee by the end of their meal, so I recommend choosing the tomato soup. The bok choy isn’t cut/split up (which is what I would prefer), but the flavor of the broth is really good. They seemed somewhat short on staff compared to the number of diners, but service wasn’t too slow.

Very cozy and relaxed environment. First time here for lunch which I had called to book on the night before. The best dish we had here was the 香宫冰花排骨 Pork Rib⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and the carrot cake, cha siew crust, shrimp dumpling is good too. The beef cubes are too fatty to our liking, the chicken feet and beef stomach could be better if it is cooked slightly more to make it softer and let the gravy goes into the taste. Overall good experience here. We will definitely be back for the 香宫冰花排骨 Pork Rib. Oh, last but not least, the staff here are very friendly, attentive and helpful.👍👍👍👍👍

Overall disappointed with the the food quality, given this is the Shang. Most dishes lacked the punch and flavors. Signature seafood fried rice was bland, and was stuffed with more French beans and chives rice than seafood. If a signature dish fails, it’s a pity. XO carrot park didn’t have enough umami flavors. Passion fruit prawn was very dry… ingredients in the腐皮卷 had too many conflicting flavors. Only redeemed by fairly good service. Disappointed.

This was a private family get together to share the loss of one of the family members. Though we all have deep sorrow in our hearts, once we walked in, the warm greeting, excellent service, melted and warmed our hearts instantly. Thanks to Shang Palace gave us the chance to cry, to laugh, to smooth our sadness. It was a very wonderful night, a very good one. I would especially like to thank Jessica, Sandy and William. They are professional, gracious and performing their job with confidence. We appreciate everything they’ve done for us. Shang should be very proud to have them !

Yelp
Thanks to our friend, CC, for treating us to this fabulous restaurant with its unparalleled crab menu. Definitely one eye-opening experience for a lifetime. This is definitely one of the finest eateries in Taipei to celebrate special occasions. It's situated on the 6th floor and has many private rooms and dedicated servers to satisfy even the most fastidious diners.

Yelp
Meh, there's a bunch of restaurants in Taipei and this one is probably worth skipping. We booked a reservation online because we saw some blog that talked highly of this place. Their service was lacking for a restaurant that is placed in a high end hotel like Shangrila. We were brought to our table, a table for 3 people. The waitress only dropped 1 menu on the table for 3 people. How are other people suppose to know what to order when others can't see the options? The lady asked if we're ready to order, I chuckled and said we didn't even get a chance to see what you offer because the menu didn't make it's way around. We ordered the set menu per person. Food was very mediocre. They gave us bunch of cold dishes which didn't really have any value for my tastebuds. As for the cooked/hot food, many of it was premade and reheated. You could tell the fish was recooked and overcooked. The sauces on some of the dishes were hotter than the actual food. Skip this place since there's plenty of restaurants in Taipei that in this price range.

Yelp
My wife and I had lunch at Shang Palace. Beautiful ambience and delicious food. The most important is outstanding service from Shandy and her team. Her great advise and introduction of dishes is very professional with passion. I strongly recommend this place if you look for good quality of Cantonese food and great customer service.
