Shannon's On Pine Irish Pub & Sports Bar

Terrible service. We were let in by David only for my one friend to be denied service by the female bartender, Victoria. Victoria claimed my friend was too drunk. My friend never stepped foot at the bar and never talked to Victoria. The bartender who made us drinks said he trusted his doorman when I confronted him about Victoria talking to him. Five minutes after that conversation with the bartender, the doorman, David, informed my friend that she needed to leave the establishment. My friend was profiled at this establishment and that is not OK. Not even worth it for mediocre drinks and a bar with a bathroom that’s never cleaned. Edit as of 5/25/24: It seems like my previous review may have gotten David in a tizzy. My friend and I came on 5/24/24, and had skip the line tickets via DJ research. David told us we had to stand in line regardless of our ticket status which doesn’t make sense seeing as the event was ticketed by Shannon’s. Thankfully, another bouncer let us in once he heard that we knew the DJ and we told him the door code. David seemed upset at his coworker for letting us in, possibly because he is holding a grudge. We ended up leaving the bar and came back 45 minutes later, David brought up my previous review while scolding us for coming back in. I don’t think a short man that holds a grudge should be one that holds the position of “power” in a local bar, it may go above his head.

The staff here has no people skills. They automatically assumed everyone who uses the bathroom stall is doing drugs. They have a very bad approach. Bathroom stall locks are busted. They keep letting more people in even though there is no more room to walk or stand. The entire bar smells like piss and vinegar. This place is trash. if it wasn't for the smell of the awesome smash burgers outside it would probably smell like a sewer and the drinks are half @$$ made.

Shannon's Irish Pub offers a taste of Ireland in the heart of the city. Walking in, you're greeted by the unmistakable charm of an authentic Irish pub, complete with dark wood furnishings and the sounds of lively conversation. However, it must be said that the atmosphere leans towards the dingy side. While some may find it adds to the pub's character, others might find it a bit off-putting. Service is friendly, albeit a bit slow at times, and the staff does their best to make you feel welcome. Overall, Shannon's Irish Pub is a decent spot for a casual night out, but it falls short of being a standout destination. With its somewhat dingy atmosphere and average service, it earns a solid 3 out of 5 stars.

My boyfriend loves this place, but I find it a bit childish. It's mostly a place where young people, binge drinkers, and alcoholics convene for a good time. The DJ is usually pretty good on the weekends, and service is always great. They do not have a very good selection of alcohol, the wine is cheap wine, and they hardly have any top shelf alcohol. You can go upstairs by the DJ to dance, which is kind of cool. I have never eaten here, so I do not know if they serve food. I prefer The Carvery next door, which has good food, good wine, and live music on Friday and Saturday nights.

Great customer service from Drew and Monica! 😁 Affordable environment. They always make everyone feel welcomed and treat each other like family 🤗 old school Rock, love it!!!

Great place to go to and meet up with your friends. Excellent security that actually treats you like a human until you mess up and you find yourself on the other end of their friendliness. Great food and fun staff. It's like going back in time and finding yourself walking into Cheer's where everyone knows your name. It's that type of place.

Come check out Shannon’s on Pine if you’re looking for a cool sports bar with a good selection of beer on tap and some delectable comfort food. The menu is on point, they have good nachos that are filling and loaded. The outlaw burger is a must if you’re a burger lover like myself. Try the buffaloes wings and the elote and the fish tacos as well. Catch a game in there anytime of the week and chow down and drink up.

I enjoy this place and have nothing bad to say about the food and atmosphere but I was extremely unfortunate to have a terrible experience in which is lengthy but I was very disappointed and I just had to. I’m so embarrassed and I hate being a negative Nancy But this bartender “Shannon” took the prize for the most uneducated, unhappy and bitter person for no reason. To start off I got there early to ensure a seat by the bar and sit comfortably to watch my game a male bartender who was super nice and welcoming helped me out at first but I guess his shift had ended therefore Shannon took over. Shannon noticed that my three friends have been finished with their glass beers and asked if we would like another in which I replied yes, now she had said would you guys like another glass pitchers to either take advantage of the fact that we really weren’t paying attention since our game was getting interesting therefore I said yes that’s fine but assumed that she would just give us another glass of beer because clear that’s what we were consuming. Little did I realize she comes back and brings the three pitchers of beer and I had kindly told her “oh I’m sorry I thought you meant another glass” she then gives me the dirtiest look and with attitude in front of my friends said “well I asked you and your over here knotting your head yes” I was so shocked at the pettiness she came in with and response that I received when I’m being nothing but polite and not raising my voice because to me I’m thinking it was a misunderstanding and lack of communication. But I simply took her petty comment and tried to not have her ruin my time with my friends. Therefore I told her that’s fine go ahead and charge my card either way we were planning to continue drinking so why not it is what it is and I’ll just take it. She then pours our glasses and states “ I’ll go ahead and place them in the cooler until your read for your next one” so I agreed and signed my tab. That alone left me with a bad taste and will never forget her and her lack of costumer service. We then finish our drinks and she comes back thinking I wouldn’t remember and she asks us if we would like another drink mind you she goes to my friend who is sitting the farthest from me thinking I wouldn’t hear her offering another drink, therefore I tell her without being rude or showing any kind of disrespectful tone “oh I paid for another two pitchers” she then gives me that same look of discuss and tries to school me and make me look like a fool stating “ no you didn’t and we don’t even have coolers here” I was so shocked and the fact that she lied was so irritating but shame on Shannon . So then I decided to stand up for myself and without causing a scene mind you I kept my composure and showed her that just because I’m a customer at the bar I in fact do have some education unlike her trashy attitude which fit her appearance. I told her”I asked for a refill on my glass beer and maybe it might of not understood you but you have me attitude and were being rude” she quickly backlashes because she did not expect me to say anything or remember and she then states and points at me with attitude “ no your being rude and you can go” I was so embarrassed and disappointed in how poorly this woman acts upon the simplest situation which could have been avoided but she knew she was doing wrong by being sneaky and not communicating right with the consumers. So you know what I hope management which I calmly spoke to and the security who was very nice and escorted me after not even causing a scene look at the cameras and “talk to Shannon” as management said they would but we all know how that goes. And a word of advice to Shannon I hope you realize that we are all human and just have some kindness in your heart and learn how to be friendly and remember your in costumer service not the military and that I believe in karma and you should be grateful for having a job that’s willing to tolerate a terrible employee like you because with my experience I’m pretty sure there’s others who have much more to say.

So far so good. Me first time here after bouncing up from the Auld Dibliner just two blocks south of here. Do I like it? Yes. It's a open sir upstairs, downstairs and street level bar.Ample flat screen TV to watch the games....bumpin ' music. Lots of room . Drinks prices okay.

Went early on Superbowl Sunday for breakfast. They previously had a full page of breakfast menu! (It's still listed online?) I guess that doesn't apply anymore? Now two breakfast options, and the all day menu is now one page! The bartender said it's a temporary menu? Hope so! Heads up. They open at 9:30am on weekends for drinks, but the kitchen doesn't open until 10am? Gotta say, their food is awesome! I used to get the best BBQ ribs in DTLB until they canceled that. Anyway, had the caprese chicken sandwich, extra crispy fries, and a beer for breakfast at 10am on Sunday. It was pretty stellar and the bartender was great. I want to come here for the great food, but don't know what the menu will be from day to day.

Fun place to come to on a Saturday night. They charge to go upstairs, doesn't seem like that much of an advantage but hey, whatever works for you. Seating is limited but there is some, bar stays packed but that's to be expected. Music was popping, it was the normal top 40ish, with some oldie but goody hip hop mixed in there and the DJ repeated one or two songs - major party foul. It was fun, I forgot how crackin the LB is on the weekends. Sheesh. And don't bother wearing you're most uncomfortable heels. Wear something cute and comfy. Oh and there's a smoking area for you smokers.

Well I came back for the nachos and they were good as they looked. I'm just bummed they were cold. Doesn't take anything away from our visit. I think they just got left for a bit long. So they definitely run it unique. For those who have never been: Order your food and drinks up at the bar. You'll have to close out each time, they don't keep tabs. My girlfriend brainstormed on all the ideas. We came up with a few good reasons.

Fun Irish sports bar in DTLB. The music included lots of throwbacks and made for some fun dancing with an upstairs floor. The place eventually got crowded, but still able to get drinks at the bar easily. There's also a shuffleboard to play. Drinks were decently priced at around $10 and all good vibes here. Someone constantly came around clearing the empty glasses as well.

Came back here for their lunch sandwich specials. I like to mix it up between their hot Pastrami Sandwich and their Turkey Jalapeno Sandwich. I appreciate that they have a substitute option for fries with seasonal fruit. Don't get me wrong the fries are delicious but seasonal fries on a hot summer day in Downtown Long Beach just make the day more perfect in my opinion. I live in Apartments right next door so I'm very familiar with the AM Shift Bartenders and Manager Christian, (all of them are great people). Regardless if the staff get busy with all the people who work in the office buildings in Down Town Long Beach for the lunch specials, the staff and Christian always make sure every customer receives excellent hospitality no matter if it's a frequent customer that's local or a newcomer. The vibe is chill and the music on the touch tunes juke box makes it fun. Most people take turns playing their favorite songs and tell you why if you feel like chatting with the other customers while watching the sports games playing in the afternoon. But just an FYI: their sandwich lunch specials are from 11am to 2pm and all day Thursday. They have other great food on the menu too. I highly recommend you come visit here if you're ever in DTLB during the weekdays. Five stars!!!!

I've been hearing about Shannon's for a while from my cousin and driving past often. Finally hubby and I went and it was great! I ordered the chicken nacho mamas and he ordered the fish n chips. OMG both were great! The nachos were full of large pieces of chicken, plenty of cheese, guacamole and sour cream, jalepenos and so yummy. The fish was hot and the the batter was flaky. The fries were delicious. The service was fantastic from more than one person. Everyone was so nice and attentive. The ambiance was perfect! Sports on all televisions. We will definitely go back again and again. Oh yeah, the drinks were yummy as well. I had the strawberry maragrita with a double shot and hubby had a Cadillac. The cost was kind to our wallet as well.

Everyone is so nice .. I ordered steak nachos and they were yummy. I'm here solo and felt so comfortable, no one was weird. Very nice spot to come check out! It's a vibe (: clean as well but the service was what really made me want to leave this review. I had a bad experience before coming here at the "r bar" ... I waited 15 minutes with no service.. they(Shannon's) really turned it around

The service was friendly and attentive, and the staff made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The prices were reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and service. The location is also great, with plenty of parking options nearby. Overall, I highly recommend Shannon's On Pine for anyone looking for a delicious and upscale dining experience

A mixture of a sports bar, dive bar and casual bar where you don't have to dress to impress. I have been to Shannon's on Pine many times while visiting Long Beach. The bartenders are always friendly and quick even though they have to serve at a really long bar. It seems more locals hang out here too. They play great music most of the time also. Great place for a group of friends to hang out and have some drinks.

Came here with a friend on a Saturday night. The drinks were okay. The ambience was great, good music, good vibes, and a mix of people. It was a good place to start the night. Noticed they have an upper level as well which we didn't check out, but might go back to see what it has to offer.

This is a horrible bar. DO NOT COME. The staff has no sense of customer service and they were extremely rude. Waited over 30 minutes for SOME FRIES and when I asked for the status got angry and refused to serve me after I was already charged for some fries. The bouncers are also rude. All of them suck. Do not recommend.

Man....I Love Long Beach so that means I Love Shannon's on Pine. Most people don't realize how many options for Drinks, Food, and Music there are in this one location. You have a steak house, a Tiki Bar, and the Sports Pub where you can find me on Friday and Saturdays. Lets get into it. What I like is the very inviting atmosphere. There are very high ceilings and great lighting. That's important to me because I want to feel safe when I'm out. I can say that although its an pub or bar; its very clean and roomy. For me, its also important that the people there are diverse. The music is a reflection of the people. So you can hear Hip Hop, Reggaeton, Reggae, and throwback 90s and 2000s. Super fun. The drinks are drinks. Not to strong. Not too weak. But like I said, Drinks are Drinks. haha. I usually get the wings and fries. You cant go wrong with fries...but wings - another story. I can say that I like the wings. The best part is that I didn't have to wait a long time. My server was super nice and always stopped by to see if I was ok. Usually on Friday and Saturday nights they have a DJ playing music upstairs. I liked the mix when I was there. Primarily because its not the same thing all night. Its a great mix. Lastly, not sure if I have to mention this...there is no cover. If that is important to you then Shannon's is a great bet.

The worst place on pine. Everyone is so rude from when you walk in to getting drinks. The owner truly needs to go through a staff change. I've never seen unprofessional security and management. Skip this place do not go unless you want to be harassed and over charged by people who work their. Pine has better place to go to

I went to Shannon's for the Long Beach pub crawl and it was such a fun experience. There were people being rowdy or were way too drunk, but for those of us having a good time and being respectful, the staff treated us the same way back. I walked in and out of Shannon's like 5x throughout the night with no problems. Security did a great job with the longest lines to deal with and the boss + staff was incredible. Music and ambiance was great and everything was very nicely set up for the event. I would go back on a regular weekend for sure!

Came here on a Monday to catch the game. Place is packed but Randy is doing an amazing job holding the fort and providing excellent customer service being the only one behind the bar with a busy bar! If you're downtown in Long Beach and you make your way to Shannon's you will not be disappointed. Don't worry, the game is on.

Had to ask for ranch with buffalo wings because they waitress didnt bring them out with order. Check was brought out and had a QR code checkout. Paid by phone. Over a block a way and waitress came running out stating i forgot to pay my bill. I told her she ran all the way over for no reason and showed her phone receipt. Figure your system out and stop harassing customers, makes you look stupid

The bartenders and service overall was the worst. I ordered fries and after 30 minutes of waiting I go up and ask if the fries are ready and they asked if I received it and I said no and the bartender says well it's a full house so they must not be ready. I then ask for a refund, they reluctantly give it to me but then the bartenders start talking amongst themselves about we need to get out just because it was taking over 30 minutes for fries! Absolutely no accountability for them taking forever for fries!! Rude bartenders and management.

I went to Shannon's last night for the first time . There's 3 floors to go to when it's the night life clubbing. Each floor has different vibes . The very first floor was a little secret entrance but more of a chill house music setting. Second floor is where you can watch sports and chill at the bar. Highly recommend if you wanna stick to one spot , they have it all!

Been here a few times to watch football before and during pandemic and always a good time. Venue - Its pretty large place inside with a small patio area, now its huge because of the modified outside area. Service - Always great staff, willing to help, and they interact with clients. Food - Always ate appetizers and it was always good food and had good flavors. Prices - Great prices and competitive. Drinks - Well poured and great drinks. Parking - Its gonna be the same with all shops around here, street or structure parking only. Overall fun place and will be back and recommend it.

I went last nite and the bartender was amazing white girl w/ glasses a true gem. I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 5 for the fact that me & my friend felt very uncomfortable with a regular bc the bartender mentioned it and was yelling at us while a male bartender was there and didn't tell the guy to calm down and or to stop harassing me. We didn't get to enjoy our drinks even thou we wanted to stay longer and continue to get rounds. Hopefully a male bartender can step up for a women when he sees we feel uncomfortable or getting harassed by a drunk male.

A decent place for brunch that that serves great chilaquiles and a good bacon and eggs. Bar is open early for those who want too. Have only been here on Sunday mornings, so suspect it can get rowdy on game days. I do, however, enjoy the vibe and the service.

Security that steals your stuff and instigates fights I write this as I'm currently undergoing a ridiculous ordeal they put me through. New Years Eve night my lady and I were going to the Tiki Bar on the basement level. Security searches me and my heart sank, (my fault) I was in a rush and forgot to leave my pocket knife at home. The security guard that searched me was actually pretty cool. I told him I came straight from home and had my knife on me, cos I was trying to get a restraining order on my psycho roommate. But I stress to him that the knife is very important, it was wedding gift AND it has my freaking name etched into the blade (pretty hard to miss and pretty useless to anyone else without my weirdo name) He was cool and instead of turning me away, he said I could check it with them and just ask for it when I left, he'd be at the door all night (in my hast I forgot to get his name). WELL this was my mistake, because upon leaving the Tiki bar, he was nowhere to be seen... What then ensued was the most insane, ridiculous and insulting thing I've had to go through at a bar (I work in bars, clubs and venues as my 2nd job) Since my OG security guard wasn't at the front, I find another one and ask about my knife. They then make me wait until the club on the 2nd level and the bar close before they will help me. We wait patiently. They ask me who checked in my knife, of course I can't recall a name, then one security guard radios in that he has my knife HOORAY!!! They send me around the corner to the entrance of the 2nd story club. This security guard Dave or David proceeds to get ALL in my face. He is super heated that I, yes me, have the audacity to say he STOLE my knife. IDK where this is coming from, and it's a horrible trait in a security guard, they are supposed to DE-ESCALATE fights, NOT start them. He creepily says "If I had searched you, YOU'D know" and then proceeds to lecture me, on some stuff that didn't apply to me and tell me I should've gotten the name of the OG guard (GEE THANKS! Real helpful buddy) again IDK where this comes from, but w/e is going on in his life, it has nothing to do with me. I then have to go to the HEAD of security now and tell him WTH just happened. Of course he apologizes and agrees it's no way to act with the public but advises me to come back when they open in the morning. We return in the morning, but now staff can't help us, they advise us to call. Welp, you can't call them, no one answers the phones here! Rinse and repeat the "go in person, sorry comeback later, call again in the evening" routine like x2 more times and thats currently where I'm at. So long story short, come here if you want your shit stolen and the coked up club security to start a fight with you.

Last time I've been here was a couple weeks back, and in the morning. That being said I didn't really catch the night life vibe. That being said I did talk to the manager who was on shift (white male *didn't catch his name*) and he explained to me how it is down in downtown. Basically saying it gets pretty crazy and hectic in the pub. The way he said it, made it seem pretty fun. I tried the prime rib sandwich and it was pretty good, but I also tried the wings and I wasn't too much of a fan of them.

If you're looking for a great time, Please check out Shannon's On Pine. I go here often. Sometimes for dinner, after yoga, or just to chill and hang out. The vibe is amazing and staff is pleasant! The food is delicious and they make awesome drinks !!!! My personal recommendation is the Buffalo chicken salad and a Shannon's spritz. Attached is a photo from yesterday's lunch after yoga! Enjoy

So we came here as a recommendation from a couple of friends and it turned out to be a shit show. Imagine just wanting a good view of the TV and getting a negative encounter from the security guard/bouncer. Then imagine a place that didn't provide you nearly ADEQUATE service to you while you were seated in subpar seating. Not to mention I am an African-American who was just looking to catch his hometown Heat beat the Celtics. Not only that but said security guard either pretended or actually recorded some women who dined there without their consent and they were showing a lot of cleavage but that doesn't give ANYONE the right to do such a perverted thing! The manager didn't stand up for the women when they complained but thankfully the police was called so it should officially be on their radar. Back to my deal, not only did they seat us far away from everyone else in the back corner of their outdoor seating with another Black group who were seated near us, but the service was slow and completely inattentive. Again, this spot was recommended by a couple of friends but they did not earn my steady patronage unless I am looking to be racially profiled or witness sexual harassment. The food was mediocre. Maybe try the place across the street.

I recently had the misfortune of visiting Shannon's, and my experience was far from pleasant. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the most unprofessional and rude security staff I have ever encountered. It left a sour taste in my mouth and tainted my entire experience at this establishment. From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was met with a condescending attitude and unnecessary hostility. The security personnel seemed to enjoy exerting their authority, treating guests with disrespect rather than ensuring a welcoming environment. Their lack of professionalism was appalling and completely uncalled for. It's disheartening to witness such unprofessional conduct from a place that claims to prioritize customer satisfaction. Shannon's should seriously reevaluate their security team and invest in training that emphasizes customer service and respect. No one deserves to be treated with such disdain when they are simply trying to enjoy their time at an establishment. I strongly urge Shannon's management to take immediate action to rectify this issue. Rude and unhelpful security staff can quickly drive customers away and tarnish the reputation of the entire establishment. I, for one, will not be returning to Shannon's until significant improvements are made to their security team's behavior and attitude. This is diffidently not a place for people of color, it's weird that your own people can treat you worse then other races.. and I had a group of 7 people with me who all live in Belmont shores.. all good went to Panama joes!!! Treated much better!! Overall, my experience at Shannon's was marred by the rude and unprofessional behavior of the security staff. I would caution anyone considering a visit to think twice before subjecting themselves to such disrespectful treatment.

I came here for a Keller Williams Pacific Estates kick off party on a Thursday night in downtown Long Beach, there is a bar and restaurant downstairs, up stairs is a large lounge with tables & chairs, plus two bars. The staff & server were awesome passing out different finger food, we stool up the hold time we were there due to there not being enough table & chairs. The atmosphere was pretty cool with the lighting effect also the DJ pumping out some pretty cool tunes. The best part about being here was the bar's were both open with any type of drink so three stars for that.

Right now this place has outdoor seating, and the are socially distancing. We stopped by real quick for a fast snack and drink. The service was about a 4/10 since we were treated like we were being annoying for wanting a table. We were a little upset but then when we got the fries we felt a little better since they were so good !! Not sure if we'd go again

Horrible customer service. We participated in the Long Beach Bar Crawl and came to Shannon's telling the bartender we would like to get the St. Patrick's Day drink deal. The bartender did not fulfill our drink request and when we contested the bill, the bartender was extremely rude and would not fulfill our drink request for the St. Patrick's Day deal. Extremely disappointed with the customer service we received. We were respectful but the bartender was extremely rude and ruined our experience that night. We will never come to this bar again and will recommend no one ever come to this bar due to the absolute extreme rudeness of the workers there.

I came in today on a saturday morning for some brunch and to watch some college football.. when i got here the games i wanted to see werent on but christian got them on immediately for me. drinks were great and the food was even better! definitely coming back

So the servers here don't listen they bring back the wrong food. The food is great! Very tasty, I was willing to overlook the servers issues because they are being trained until my son went to the restroom and stepped in shit. Brand new shoes. This is disgusting on so many levels I can't..... we out!

Jeanine was one of the best bartenders I've ever had. Despite being busy, and seemed to be the only person working on a Sunday brunch? We kept a smile on her face and had excellent customer service, to not only my friends and i but everyone in the bar! This chick can run circles around people with a smile on her face! We will definitely be back to say hi and sit at her bar.

I used to love coming here, came here tonight on a Saturday night and there's a rule of no Spanish music until after 12am??? That's never been a thing, I've come a lot on Friday nights but on a Saturday night never and we get told no Spanish music, it just feels very weird being here where they say no Spanish music at all.

Their Buffalo salad is been here a few time it never disappoints me. You would think that their food wouldn't be good because it's a bar but it's pretty good

We went wanting to have a variety of music. Yet the people playing the music did not want to play any Spanish music because they said they would only play it after 12. If you want to go out and have fun before 12 I don't suggest coming here.
