"A restaurant group from New York brought Uptown Social to Charleston, and now the partners behind Uptown Social want to bring two more restaurants to Ann Street. Bodega will build off of the breakfast/brunch concept already happening at Uptown Social, with New York-style morning sandwiches and coffee. Charcuterie and cocktails will be on the menu in the evening. Share House will be a Hamptons-meets-Jersey-Shore seafood house with a party on the side." - Erin Perkins

We all left the children’s museum and wanted to eat together as a unit for one last time. We landed at Share House. My goodness, the location is amazing and so is the decor. Though, we didn’t have a good experience with the service. We arrived at the perfect time and ordered right away. Most of us finished our meals (that are not spectacular) before two of the guys were even served. That was not nice at all. And please stay away from the lemonade. From the glass, you would swear it is water and tasted like such. In spite of that, the personnel are friendly.

Abby was the best server! She was a delight and continued to check on us and made sure we had a great experience. Will definitely be coming back and asking for her!!!

Went to Sharehouse after going to the Children’s museum. Looked like a cute place to eat. Waited more than 10 mins for someone to acknowledge us and clean a table. It was 2 adults and 3 kids. We waited 15 minutes or longer after getting a table for someone to even bring us water. When we finally ordered, they didn’t bring the appetizer out and we had to inquire about it. The pretzel bites were super greasy! Not what I would expect for pretzel bites. I ordered a chicken Caesar wrap. The wrap didn’t have much dressing on it and was bland and cold! You could tell it had been sitting since the staff were busy talking to each other and ignoring the customers. It was not even busy for a weekday lunch. It took a while to get our waitress back to our table to ask for more dressing. My friend had the caesar salad which was drenched in dressing. Neither of us were fans of the Caesar dressing which had a strange taste. Overall I was not impressed. Super disappointed at how many staff members ignored our table. The food was not good and the service was awful. I don’t recommend it. Sad since it’s next to the children’s museum and looks like such a cute place. Definitely not kid friendly.

Came her tonight with some friends after hearing a lot about it. Pros: Super cute place in a great location. The open air feel was great. Our server was definitely new and didn’t know pretty much anything on the drink menu but was very nice and attentive. Cons: SO LOUD. The place is very long and at one point there was three different types of music blaring from different parts of the restaurant. Maybe good at lunch but if you want to be able to talk to anyone at your table… this isn’t the place for you. Definitely got club vibes at 6:30 dinner. They also charge an extra 3.5% if you pay with card. Luckily I happened to have cash but no one else at my table did. The food itself was just ok. The presentation on the hushpuppies was great but I didn’t love them. Oddly smokey. The empanadas definitely needed something added to them. Not bad just a bit bland. All in all, I could maybe see myself coming back for drinks but likely not for food or with bigger groups since you can’t hear each other talk.

My server Elsa was phenomenal!!! So friendly and top notch service!!! The band playing was… not great. Really weird cover songs definitely could’ve been better. Loved my yard stick though! Such a fun deal💘🌟I will be back for more great drinks and service

This place is great. I Visit Charleston every couple of months and always make sure to visit share house and bodega ! The bloody Mary’s and orange crush are some of the best I’ve ever had. The staff is always very friendly and the food is always great !

Was visiting Charleston and came here a couple times over the weekend. McKenzie and Brandon were amazing!! Such good personalities and so attentive. The buffalo chicken wrap and SH sampler were our favorites.

10 out of 10 recommend stopping by Share House next time you’re downtown! The food was incredible, the environment was awesome, and the service was top notch! I went with two of my friends tonight for a girls night out. Chris was our server this evening and we started off asking what he recommended for us. He had several different drinks made for all of us, recommended appetizer, and truly made the whole meal memorable. Everything was DELICIOUS and perfect portions. I will 100% come back and recommend to all of my friends and family.

Yelp
Great bar and restaurant! The atmosphere is great here! The bartenders are all so friendly. They have the best orange crushes in town! They used fresh squeezed oranges for them! The tuna wonton nachos are amazing! If you're looking for a good Bloody Mary here is your spot as well. Great seating selection with indoor and outdoor tables.

Yelp
We enjoyed the Share House's weekend bustle as we were also "about town." We ordered a few rounds of drinks, the cheese dip, empanadas, Mac and cheese, and tacos. All dishes were "just okay"and well presented. Service was short-staffed, but quick on the follow ups. We'd like to see the Share House increase their higher dollar offerings. Yes, we'd gladly pay $25 (versus $17) for a taco plate that's fuller and bursting with flavor. We understand that downtown is pricy and most people just want (or need) to drink, but yes, there are those of us who enjoy eating AND drinking before heading to the uptown clubs.

Yelp
Such a great time here and such a Great experience! Drinks were great and Kelcie is the best!!

Sarah Y.

Yelp
I came here on a Thursday for happy hour and this place has a pretty good happy hour. They have certain apps for $3 and certain drinks for $8. The place also has daily deals as well (on Thursdays twisted teas are $4). I ordered the Mexican street corn and I was expecting a corn on the cob but it was kernels in a skillet and that definitely threw me off. It was delicious nevertheless.

Yelp
I went with my brother who is visiting from out of town and two kids. It's a cute place and the temperature made it nice to be sitting outside. The main thing that took away from the experience was the lack of good customer service. Several notes were missed about how we wanted our food to be prepared. Our waitress did take a percentage off of the bill, but the damage to the experience was already done. We weren't asked if we wanted more drinks when ours ran out which we were happy to pay for. A few of the staff members (possibly college students) were just sitting around hanging out. I did enjoy my truffle burger after scrapping off the onions. My brother rated this place a 2 star. He said his fries tasted like they have been cooked in grease that had been used to cook something else. I would probably go back to see if my experience would be better if I happen to be in the area. It's right across from the children's museum.

Yelp
Coming out of the parking garage next door, I was so excited to have lunch here before the Christmas parade. A DJ was playing and it wasn't crowded. I had an orange crush here before and loved the freshness of it, so I had to get it again this time. However, after two sips of it... Our food came and as the server handed my food over to me, my elbow knocked over the entire cup. I thought the server was going to rush over to grab a towel or napkins, but never did. I didn't see any servers or waiters nearby, so I went up to the bar to ask for a towel or rag to clean up the spill. The bartender kindly handed me a clean towel to use. When my waitress came to check on us, I told her that my entire drink spilled on the table and floor. I didn't want another drink, but just wanted her to be aware that the floor was wet. After the spill, I figured the drink wasn't meant to be and I was fine with my cup of water. Instead, she brought over another drink for me and did nothing about the floor. Well, when I got the check, she charged me for the second drink. I didn't even want that second cup, but accepted it figuring she automatically got it for me as a courtesy. Anyway, I was really disappointed with how that was all handled. I probably won't be back since I was really turned off by the service. As for the food the empanadas were really good and my kids loved the chicken tenders. The fries were plentiful and we would've been better off sharing one basket instead of each of my kids ordering one. Even with me taking some from both their baskets, they each still had plenty leftover.

Yelp
Honestly, this bar was one of the very few let downs during our Charleston visit. We went out here on a Saturday as it was recommended to us as a great place to dance, but the music was a let down. The place was packed (which is expected of a bar on a Saturday night, no issue there), but the people in here club were so rude. We didn't experience any problems with the staff as some reviews mentioned, in fact most of them were pretty chill/pretty nice, but the party goers that night were insufferable. From literally elbowing and shoving you through the crowd without so much as a "sorry" or "excuse me" to purposely invading your personal space, the bar scene fell short of our fun expectations. While none of that is the bar's fault, the reason I rated this place a 3 was because of the music -- this place could definitely be a 5 if the music were better.

Argi K.

Yelp
This is my favorite bar in Charleston. We went during the day on Sunday when there was a drag show which looked like such a fun event. We ended up sitting in the second part where the show wasn't going on so we could order some bloody Mary's and some food. Everything was delicious. The service was pretty quick too which was impressive since they were having such a large event next door.

Karsen Grace H.

Yelp
Wish I could give zero but they debated my friend to let in only because she was with an older man. They didn't let her and talked about us to multiple people. Poor quality bouncers that have no spectrum of how intoxicated people are.

Ryan H.

Yelp
Just happened upon this place on our way to the Music Hall for an event. Wow! Impressive. One side was DJ driven with loud music and looked like a good time and the other side was full of sports fans watching the Alabama Georgia game and other sports events. $6 for a Lite is a little high for my blood but I am guessing many places downtown now charge that. Otherwise we really found it to be a nice place with great facilities.

Ian D.

Yelp
they denied me i when i was walking and perfectly post bar crawl. they said i was too drunk when i had ONE drink after share house at their bar. like... what is share house. i will never visit this establishment again.

Courtney K.

Yelp
Bodega is a perfect little lunch spot for those looking to sit in a group or to sit and do work while grabbing a quick bite. This salad has been a new go to for my typical lunch routine. The arugula salad with salmon on top! I will say the portion difference from to go to eating in is a little different. You can see that in these photos here. This past go around the candied nuts were left out of the salad and the time before the strawberries were left out. While these are small things, I think the whole combination is so delicious it deserves to be all in one bite! Minor complaint, but the salad is so incredible so consistency is key! Ingredients seem fresh and salmon has always been perfectly prepared! Overall service is always very nice, the place is always clean and well kept. At my last visit I just tried an iced dark chocolate strawberry latte, and WOW! Will definitely be back for that soon!

Yelp
Share house is the sister restaurant of Bodega but they are very different concepts. While bodega is a restraint , share house is a bar and party hall. The decorations are really cool and instagram worthy and the setup with open windows is really welcoming. The place does turn into a party at night and weekends with a DJ And live bands, which is really fun , but the rest of the time it has an interesting and appealing food menu. We came during March madness once and although the tvs were showing the games, it was hard to focus because of the crowds dancing to DJ music . It was a lot of fun for those of us who didn't care about the games, those who wanted to watch sports were not that excited On our second visit we had the restaurant experience and sat outside on the patio. We ordered the ahi tuna nachos and the hush puppies to go along with our drinks and they not only came out super fast but they were delicious . I wish the hush puppies had more of the cream and cheese sauce because they were a bit dry towards the end. The waitress and staff were very welcoming and nice.

Yelp
Share House (and sister restaurant Bodega) are new restaurants that just opened downtown near the Charleston visitor center. The layout is great for this wonderful Spring weather with the whole open air seating area. The poke tuna nachos were awesome - basically an open faced poke bowl with ahi tuna, mango, sriracha mayo, sesame seeds, topped over potato chips. I've eaten at least 100 poke bowls in my lifetime but this was a new way to have the dish and it was so good. If you're a seltzer drinker you'll be happy to know that they carry High Noon's which uses vodka instead of malt liquor like Truly or White Claw. Because of this, High Noon's have a smoother and crisper taste. Overall I really loved the layout, food, and drink selections here. This is definitely an awesome hangout spot and I highly recommend checking it out!

Yelp
A must go-to for live music, especially on Sunday afternoons when The Midnight City is playing! It's definitely a college spot, but a good time early in the day. Food is decent, but I'd recommend going elsewhere if it's busy at all. Super convenient parking right across the street in the visitors center garage. I've been to Share House probably 20 times at different times of the day and night, and always feel safe. It's a great spot with a large group!

Yelp
This review is strictly for the vibes. Love how spacious it is and how different rooms have different feels (and multiple bars). The music is always upbeat and fun for anyone looking to day drink or go out at night. I heard they started charging cover at night

Emily P.

Yelp
A great newer party bar in downtown! Don't come here expecting something it's not - it's fun but it's also packed and service can get slow because they're slinging so many drinks. Def a college or young people scene, but I saw plenty of older people there as well.

David D.

Yelp
We came to Share House on Friday night. The waiter was attentive and the atmosphere was lively. We had no problem getting drinks and the rum punch I ordered was tasty while packing a punch as well. The food was delicious as well. The poke nachos had plenty of tuna and had great flavor. The waiter recommended the duck quesadilla and it was hot, flavorful and had a buffalo kick. Overall, I was very pleased with my order. The one area I'd take a star back for was towards the end of dinner when sharehouse started blasting music in the speaker above our table. The music from bodega was already pretty loud, but not crazy. Once share house began playing their music it didn't blend well with the other sound and wasn't very friendly on the ears. It didn't completely take away from the experience, but if I return it will probably be earlier in the night before they crank up their sound again.

Lauren R.

Yelp
The food was pretty good, but the service was honestly terrible. They're located directly across from the children's museum, so yesterday after the kids played, we headed over for lunch. We arrived as soon as they opened- 3 adults, 3 kids. I don't even know our waitresses name because she never offered it (young, blonde hair, cropped tank), but from the moment we sat down, it was a total s*** show. We ordered the toddlers' food asap and it came out pretty quickly, but after that, our waitress was no where to be found. I asked 3 times for an additional plate to separate my toddlers food. Finally, my friend asked a food runner for one and it came immediately. We were one of 3 tables she was serving at the time and were completely ignored for over 25 min. She was extremely pushy with alcoholic drink orders, and seemed super annoyed that we only got 2. Once our orders were in, she disappeared again. The kicker? A 10 top of kids and adults was seated in her section AFTER we placed our food orders and she doted on them like no tomorrow. They ordered drinks, received them, ordered food, ate it, and got their checks before we even got our food. Her excuse? "I apologize, the kitchen is really backed up"- but it wasn't backed up for the 10 people that sat down after we had ordered food? I've been a server. I know what it's like. I try to have grace and extra patience every time I go out. She simply forgot to put in our orders multiple times or intentionally ignored us to focus on a table she assumed would garner a larger tip. When our food arrived, we asked for boxes immediately as we had been there for for 2 hrs at that point. A manager actually brought our food out as our server watched from beside the bar. No apologies or comps were offered at all. I'm very hesitant to return.

Amy M.

Yelp
Quesadilla was great and the outdoor seating is plentiful. Good spot to grab drinks and a quick meal outdoors

Emily G.

Yelp
Very cool vibes. Good drinks and awesome bar food. These are the poke nachos and they were 10/10. My one complaint is the drink prices are not on the menu.

Amanda M.

Yelp
Staff was definitely not friendly, it appeared that I interrupted a conversation between the bartenders by waiting for a drink and got charged $12 for a high noon while mixed drinks are priced around same price.. definitely not diverse friendly

Anne L.

Yelp
Really cute vibe, good food, and great location! Service made up of young college kids. One downside is they don't have a lot of tables or any bigger tables so if you are a large party not the best spot to come too.

Olivia H.

Yelp
We ended up here after looking for a place for dinner in Charleston that wasn't too stuffy. Sharehouse ended up being perfect and we had a really great time! Sharehouse had delicious food and drinks - we ate outside on the patio and really enjoyed the atmosphere.

John J.

Yelp
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I went there with some friends and got 1 Moscow Mule and forgot to close my tab. I checked my credit card statement the next day and had a $80 charge. I went back the next day to ask for the receipt for that charge and was given the response "we don't do that". I was directed by the managers to email the owners so they could get into contact with me. I did that on 5 separate occasions. No response. I've called and tried to settle it without disputing the charge, but the owners are rude and unprofessional. Do not recommend going to this place.

Gregory B.

Yelp
Ordered caesar salad, buffalo empanadas, chicken quesadillas. Really good, great atmosphere. Buffalo empanadas weren't too spicy, and the side of ranch was great.

Tyler S.

Yelp
disappointing first stop in charleston. food was ok but pretty bad service. "soph" was rude from the second we walked in. and I don't just mean bad service, but straight-up unbelievably rude, coming from fellow servers. we couldn't leave fast enough. ps-memorize your food order because she won't remember and she'll quiz you on it!

Elise A.

Yelp
Me and my friends had a great time at share house. Especially thanks to Jed! He was an awesome bartender. Can't wait to come back when we visit charleston again.

Connie S.

Yelp
The food is not good. We had the shrimp(batter is horrible), quesadilla( not good) trip dip(guacamole was ok, cheese and salsa were not good) cheese sticks(ok). $90 for lunch that was basically inedible. Service was fair and ambiance was ok. Don't waste your time or money. Won't be going back.

Larri C.

Yelp
Not sure what to classify this place as it covers a lot of bases...food was good af both times I've been. Like shockingly good for a bar type space. Serious chefs back there...bravo

Nancy G.

Yelp
Do not come here!!!!!!! They are racist!! I came here for my bachelorette weekend. I was here Saturday night, nothing bad, just a crowded night; However, Sunday afternoon, i have my friends that are latinas and we got kicked out because a guy offered to buy us shots and then changed his mind last minute. We got kicked out almost 5 minutes after for no reason disclosed to us. They were rude and not understanding of us. We couldn't say anything and we just got kicked out!! Worst place ever!!!

Evan G.

Yelp
Share House on Ann Street in Charleston is a great place to go for delicious food and drinks in a cool and unique atmosphere. I really like the indoor and outdoor space that they have available here. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating to make sure that you have everything that you need. Good experience coming here each time.

A S.

Yelp
While the atmosphere of this place sounds delightful - the staff is ridiculously rude. Ordered a high end tequila rocks and I got barely an inch pour over small cubes. Instead of finishing the bottle into my glass, bartender put back what had to be 1/16th remaining. Before I sat down and ordered I confirmed with the bartender they could put my game on - was told yes. After 12 minutes of five employees discussing it, I was told a NBA playoff game took precedent despite there being a 24 point lead in said game. The Paloma sounded good yet was sour and zero flavor. Cover band was decent yet FOH sound was too loud for a Sunday afternoon and room acoustics. Will give this spot another try yet really expected more from a NYC owner.

Melissa F.

Yelp
I hosted a private event here yesterday and could not have been happier with the entire experience. I arrived extremely early, as having been burned in the past at other venues I wanted to make sure all details were ready. I asked to make some changes to the configuration of the room and the staff was completely on top of it. The restaurant manager and bar manager have a great rapport with their staff, and everyone was just so kind and easy to work with. Event went off without a hitch, food was excellent, and I am just so grateful.

Tori B.

Yelp
I came here on a Sunday. Midnight city was playing which is always a blast. The shots were so watery. If I came back I would only order canned/bottled drinks. I also got the chicken sliders which were good.

Kristine H.

Yelp
Do not come here! I was here with a group of girlfriends who are Latina and got kicked out for no reason. One of the girls had a disability and they were laughing and taking pics. A white guy offered to buy us shots and when the bartender poured it, the guy refused to pay and we didn't want the drinks. Then he told security, they kicked us out even-though we did nothing wrong! Then the security said "you people have done enough!" Super racist! I loved the vibe and the music until we were treated like crap because of what we look like!

Maggie R.

Yelp
I'm not one to hop on yelp to write about every experience I have but this one needs to be shared. Myself, my sister, and another person of color have all separately had racist experiences here. We've repeatedly seen the bouncers kick out people of color for any reason they find. This was our first bar going out one night, hadn't even started drinking besides the one in our hands and the bouncer says my sister is too drunk and needs to go. No valid explanation when I asked why. They didn't even bother to listen to me, just proceeded to kick me out as well. It's unfortunately very clear that they're unwelcoming to anyone who isn't white. Our white cousin called them out for this and suddenly they're so apologetic and ready to listen. Even offered her a free meal (as if that'd make up for blatant racism). Of course, that was for show they never followed up actually caring to make up for their discrimination. Sad to see this place is stuck in the 1800s still trying to enforce Jim Crow laws. Only giving 1 star as it's required to submit a review. Please don't support this place.

Mayela G.

Yelp
Do not come here!!!!!!! They are racist!! I was here with a group of girlfriends who are Latina and got kicked out for no reason. Me being one of the girls that had a disability and they were laughing and taking pics. This was not okay! All securities working were very disrespectful as well as the hostess. A white guy offered to buy us shots and when the bartender poured it, the guy refused to pay and we didn't want the drinks. Disrespectful!!!!! We got kicked out almost 5 minutes after for no reason disclosed to us. Security yelled at us "You guys need to leave now!!! They were rude and not understanding of us. We couldn't say anything and we just got kicked out!! Worst place ever!!!

Erin K.

Yelp
I used to be a regular at Share House and Bodega from the day they opened, but I will no longer be spending my money here. They serve subpar food and drinks anyways. I had really enjoyed the atmosphere, but that's now been ruined by the same "tough guy" bouncer my last couple of visits. Every single time I've come with an asian friend or family member he has targeted them and kicked them out. One of them literally dropped her juul, bent down to pick it up, and next thing I know he's pushing her out. Lmao. Really amazing staff here!!! I talked to a manager after having multiple bad experiences and he promised to contact me and make it right. Still waiting for that call that I have a feeling won't be coming. Don't waste your time or money here.

Cristina G.

Yelp
I like that this place continues to try and re-invent themselves. They offer intriguing promotions like Sunday Funday, live music, DJs, and more. The prices are decent but the service is snail slow in the evening time. It's quickly gaining popularity and usually packed on a Friday or Saturday. They have decent DJs but I'm starting to enjoy being cramped both indoors and outdoors less every time I go... its slowly becoming a day drinking place for me. The food is nothing to really rave about your usual bar favors. Odd side note but I feel like this place would do great in Isle Palms, for some reason in the day time I always get the vibe and feel of a beach bar and forget I'm in the middle of Downtown.

Jocelyn V.

Yelp
Super fun indoor & outdoor vibes. Cheaper bar snacks & good service. We love to hang here.

Brianna S.

Yelp
holt the bartender is fire flames, we love him!!! great bar!! tip him well!!! great place, great bar, grwat service!

Taylor F.

Yelp
My friends and I came here for the first time on a Friday night for dinner. This is definitely a fun, but very loud atmosphere. I did love that it was open to the outside. There was a band playing live music, which was nice. They then started playing separate music very loudly over the speakers while the band was still playing, making it impossible to hear yourself or others speak. Maybe I'm a grandma, but it definitely made it difficult to continue socializing at our own table. Our waiter was very nice and attentive, although he didn't seem too familiar with the cocktail/drink menu when we were ordering. Speaking of the menu, there aren't any prices on the drink menu. Our cocktails were $13. They also charge you extra if you use a credit card to pay versus using cash. On the positive side, the food tastes great! It also came out pretty quickly. The tuna nachos and hush puppies were my favorite. The chips in the nachos were very tasty and crunchy and the perfect addition to the tuna dish. The cocktail was pretty good, but not worth $13 in my opinion. I think if I were to go again, it would be during the day. I think time of day you go depends on what you're looking for. Night time is definitely more of a club/bar vibe.

Jocelyn L.

Yelp
Most racist place I've ever been to. My friends and I went for a bachelorette weekend. A WHITE man offered to buy 8 shots for our party and then after they were poured he pretended to not have offered the shots. 2 minutes later a worker came up to us and kicked us out for "doing too much" meaning we were being watched and singled out from the beginning. They allowed their patrons to laugh at and take videos of members of our group. Do not go here!!

Marina D.

Yelp
Share House is amazing! It's a great spot to day drink and so fun at night!!! Great drinks for a GREAT price!!!! Sean was our bartender and he took great care of us!! Was so kind and made sure the bride of our party had a great time!!!

Cristian S.

Yelp
Easiest five star rating I've ever had. Came in with a group of 28! Team was so organized and food was wonderful! Great entertainment too can't wait to come back

Madeline O.

Yelp
Most Horrible bar I've been to, I've been drugged 3 times here, definitely not a safe place to drink especially if your a woman. Very disappointed. Do better Chs.

Lynsey C.

Yelp
We were here late night on a Monday night having drinks and apps with friends. We had great service, Jed was a lot of fun, very attentive, and really made us have a great overall experience. The food was delicious and the drinks were fairly priced. Would definitely recommend this place!
