Shark Bite’s ceviche showing is good, but the space needs work - Review - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Outside this Phinney Ridge walk-up window, giant yellow banners flap around like there’s a blowout sale at a mattress store. But instead of 20% off memory foam, they’re advertising Shark Bite Ceviches. Here you can get a decent version of the namesake dish, even if the dining setup leaves a little to be desired. The short-and-sweet menu includes a generous pile of lime-marinated fish of your choice, mixed with colorful add-ins like onions, tomatoes, and mango chopped so finely they could pass for Party City confetti. The halibut option is pretty tasty, as is the tosticeviche. We just wish there were better seating options besides a bunch of picnic tables. When it's chilly out, eating raw fish outside here is uncomfortable, and the compostable takeout containers tend to get soggy fast. Best to head here on a warm day when the large patio makes sense. Food Rundown Shrimp Tosticeviche Plump cubes of shrimp and Salsa Verde Tostitos (arguably the best kind) get cozy inside the chips bag alongside jicama and peanuts for crunch. A squeeze of lime, a shake of Tajín, and a generous drizzle of hot sauce add tons of acid and salt, and a little moisture to tie it all together. Definitely worth ordering, especially when the straight ceviche starts to feel a little monotonous. photo credit: Kayla Sager-Riley Halibut Ceviche This one’s the best of the ceviche bunch. Fleshy halibut soaks up the lime juice and seasoning well, injecting bright, zesty flavor into every bite. photo credit: Kayla Sager-Riley Salmon Ceviche You don’t get a ton of fishiness, but this version's still a solid option, as tiny mango chunks make things a little more exciting, adding refreshment and sweetness. photo credit: Kayla Sager-Riley Octopus Ceviche This is the least interesting of the lineup. Finely chopped tomatoes, celery, and red onion do most of the work, as the chewy, bland octopus gets lost in the mix. photo credit: Kayla Sager-Riley" - Kayla Sager-Riley

The BEST ceviche in Seattle. So fresh and flavourful! Great portions too! We got the shrimp and halibut and they were both amazing. The patio is really nice and perfect for a summer day. The owner is super nice and friendly too :)!

We got the portabella and Halibut and shrimp. Both delicious and I highly recommend adding some sauces for extra kick! The sweet owners let us taste before ordering and were very kind. Highly recommend this gem!

Been craving some fresh ceviche and stumbled upon this spot which is such a hidden gem! The seafood is fresh, service is great and the outdoor patio is perfect for the sunny days. We were able to sample the different types on our first visit which was also a huge bonus. We loved the halibut and shrimp!

Ceviche is one of our favorite things to eat around the world and we were pleasantly surprised by how good the ceviche at Sharbite is! We would say, it's one of the best ones we've had in the PNW! The owner is very friendly and takes great pride in his product. Everything was perfectly chopped and there was a wide variety of hot sauces to enhance the flavors. We recommend grabbing it to go and enjoying it at Ridgewood with a craft beer or cocktail!

There's not enough ceviche in Seattle!! I'm so glad this spot came into the neighborhood, it's super good. Try the ceviche in a bag of tostitos for a fun snack.

They just grand opened last week, stopped in and got 1lb shrimp and 1lb halibut to go! Was absolutely delicious, so so fresh and flavorful- the perfect lunch. I can’t wait to go back when the weather is nice, they have a great patio with outdoor seating and I know they are working on a license to have beer on tap! Such a great addition to the neighborhood

Incredible ceviche and service!! Best ceviche we’ve had in the seattle area. Hard to find the good stuff up here.

Yelp
I was driving through the neighborhood with a little extra time to grab a late lunch when I stumbled on this gem. I turned my car around x parked out front and got 50:50 halibut and octopus ceviche. The ceviches were fresh, tasty, the tortillas crunchy and only mildly salty, and the person who took my order and made the ceviche was super friendly. 10/10 will come again. Good to know: the ceviches were mild, with hot sauces available to spice it up.

Yelp
We tried the salmon and shrimp ceviche. The salmon was tasty for the first couple bites but we found it a bit fishy. The shrimp was alright- I think the various hot sauces really helped make this dish. We came for the octopus but unfortunately it was not available the day we came- I have high hopes for this one if we go back. One portion is enough for two people to share imo. They have a couple spots for parking but expect to look for street parking to be safe. The area has outdoor seating with a nice selection of different hot sauces to experiment on your ceviche.

Yelp
Hot days call for cold dishes, right? Sandwiches, pasta salad, cold Asian noodles, sushi, poke, but how often does a Seattleite think of..... ceviche?? Well Seattle, Shark Bite Ceviches recently opened in Stumbletown. I've been here twice and so far I've tried the salmon ceviche plate, the halibut tosticeviche (sp?) and shrimp tosticeviche. The generous portion of ceviche was bursting with delicious citrus flavor. The fish is cut into tiny pieces, making it easier for scooping up. However, I prefer when the fish is cut up into slightly bigger pieces so that I can taste it better. Now the tosticeviche was a surprising little adventure. I decided to try it on a whim not expecting to love it due to the amount of different ingredients that were put together in a chip bag, which I questioned would work cohesively. But man was I wrong! The tajin, ketchup, hot sauce, Tostitos salsa verde chips, Japanese peanuts, jicama, cucumber, avocado, and ceviche mixed together is a magical combination of flavors and is what I must get from Shark Bite from now on. Keep in mind, the server will give you a choice of whether or not you want all three choices: tajin, ketchup, and hot sauce. You also can have it served in the Tostitos bag or a to go box. I like it in the bag because the chips soak up the ceviche juice but I also like it in the box since it is cleaner. In addition, there are a ton of hot sauce options available to spice things up, if you so please. The large outdoor picnic benches with umbrellas are the perfect invitation to spend a warm day enjoying your cool meal. I think this might be a new summer hangout for me.

Yelp
Customer service, atmosphere, and food were all amazing. Could barely finish the plate of shrimp ceviche, and it was very reasonably priced! The perfect summer spot, I highly recommend!

Yelp
This place broke my streak of bad ceviches. Must try! I opted for the shrimp ceviche but already want to come back to try the Halibut. Friendly, fast service and dog friendly!

Yelp
Best ceviche in seattle by far , highly recommend ! Perfect for summer , squid is my favorite so far

Alejandro C.

Yelp
Best ceviche in town, simply increíble ! Highly recommended to anybody who likes ceviche. My favorite is the halibut followed by the shrimp

Yelp
The salmon ceviche served with fresh avocado and tasty whole grain chips is delicious! Fresh flavors from the salmon, lime, avocado, mango and tomato burst in your mouth. I can't wait to try all their ceviche offerings. Great friendly service as well and they offer ceviche by the pound. Just got back from Costa Rica where I enjoyed ceviche everyday and was so excited to see this place open when I returned.

Yelp
Friendly service and delicious ceviche! We enjoyed the salmon and halibut. Great to eat out on the patio or take away for a picnic.
