We were on this side of town and wanted to try someplace new. This place had glowing reviews so we decided to try it.
We walked in and it's a pretty nice looking restaurant. Very clean.
It's counter service, you order and pay for your food up front. I added a tip thinking everything was going to be good.
They give you a stanchion with a number and they bring the food to your table when it's ready.
While we are waiting for our food, we decided to get our drinks and go to the condiment bar.
There was no ice in the soda machine.
There were no little plastic cups to put the condiments in.
We ordered chips and queso.
The queso was absolutely tasteless.
There was no salt around so we dumped some Cholula sauce in it. It made it a little better.
We waited quite a while for the food to arrive and when it did, two of three orders were not right.
My wife ordered the carne asada nachos which never arrived, instead, they brought another order of chips and queso. Now we have two of the same thing on the table.
My daughter ordered carne asada fries with no jalapenos. It came with jalapenos.
I tried it and the meat had a weird aftertaste.
I ordered the wagyu tostadas and they we're right. They tasted good too.
I don't know what's going on with this place, it seems like there wasn't a manager present or a very ineffective manager was there.
Either way, the place was not maintained, the food wasn't that good, and it just seems like nobody cared about their jobs.
The bill totaled $71 with tip when was definitely not worth it.
It was the worst Mexican restaurant we've ever been to.
