"The latest project from Berenjak founder Kian Samyani sees Saudi-born chef Shwan Baban design a mezze menu at JKS Restaurants’s revamp of Arcade Food Hall — with plenty of twists. There’s a continually-basted chicken-and-lamb shawarma with an enticing saffron shine; a dramatically-presented babaganoush; punchy, garlicky hummus, and an original take on falafel. Using British-grown chickpeas and split fava beans from Hodmedods, the falafel are beautifully green and aromatic, with an abundance of coriander, mint, and parsley in the mix. They are thin and crispy, served in a bed of softening tahini sauce, and with a slice of lemon covered in a slightly smokey pul biber chilli, which merits squeezing on. Diners can also order in a wrap, but this dish is so well conceived that it is best ordered as part of a mezze." - Joel Hart

"As the main event at Berenjak’s new mezze medley joint in Arcade Hall, this is as gloriously flavourful and fatty as shawarma gets. Experimenting with separate chicken and lamb shawarmas, the chefs eventually opted for one shawarma option with a 75 to 25 percent ratio of lamb to chicken. As the spit turns, a mixture of lamb fat, schmaltz and butter is continually basted on the meat, which has been spiced with kashmiri chilli, black pepper, turmeric and saffron. Diners can order the shawarma in a khobez wrap with hummus, toum, tomato, red onion, salted cucumber, parsley, or opt for a portion of hummus adorned with shawarma and confit garlic and tomato as part of a broader mezze selection." - Joel Hart

Ordered from Shatta and Toum to see if I could scratch my Lebanese food craving itch but I can confirm that it was not scratched sufficiently 😖 The hummus was tasty but the food in general was a tiny bit bland. The bread was a bit tough and the food wasn’t as hot as I would have liked temperature wise. Portion was also small for the price. This came to almost £15.

Waited 25 minutes for a takeaway order of chicken shwarama wrap and chips that ended up being nothing to right home about. It wasn't even that busy, the tables were at least half empty and there was no one else in the queue ahead of me for takeout. If the food had been mindblowingly good I'd be tempted to say it was worth the wait. But unfortunately it wasn't. On top of that, it's incredibly expensive - almost £17 for probably not even ten mouthfuls worth of food. I work in the area, but doubt I'll return here

The halal Shwarma platter is very small and not tasty. Bought side chips very good. The ambiance is loud and busy in this Battersea restaurant (Arcade).

Tried the shawarmah plate expecting what's typical for this meal at most Middle Eastern restaurants. It's a small portion of chicken on an appetizer plate, layered amidst some hummus and fatoush; not separated like most places. The result is what amounts to a salad where the chicken arrives cooled by the cold salad and hummus. Flavor is okay, but the shawarmah spices don't come through the salad-effect. Concept in the food hall is a good one, but shawarmah on Edgware road or the like is a better option. Not a good value for the price.

A wonderful experience in the heart of London The food was absolutely delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. Definitely not my last visit😊❤️

Shawarma wrap was okish: far too greasy or at least they use paper that cannot hold juices so it can get very messy when you eat it. More pickles than meat and it took nearly 20 mins to get the wrap, not ideal for a lunch break. I had high expectations considering the people behind this business but will return to try other items

The food here is top tier. I am still craving it days later. The head chef is very professional, polite, and talented. I got the shawarma fries plate and I promise it is one of the best meals I have ever had. I will 100% be back.

Cool open space to eat. Lots choice of different foods. I went will a shawarma. Definitely not the best choice in the food court. My shawarma was tasty enough but so small. Like a child portion for adult price. Shame won't be have a shawarma here again.
