Shawarma Land works for quick, satisfying Mediterranean food - Review - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Shawarma Land is a casual Mediterranean spot, mainly good for takeout or a quick bite. The food is solid, the service is friendly, and there’s a Ross next door where you can browse throw pillows and discount candles while you wait. Scents from grilled meat sliced straight off the giant vertical spit fill the bare-bones dining room, where almost everyone has their neck craned to take in the massive red-and-black menu board. Come for an easy weeknight dinner, and enjoy a fine meal of things dusted in feta and drizzled with garlicky white sauce. Food Rundown Greek Fries We wish the crumbled feta had a bit more punch and saltiness, but the fries are tossed in a sprinkle of Cajun seasoning that adds a nice kick. Definitely get these—just make sure to eat them while they’re hot. Chicken Shawarma Plate The yellow-tinged basmati rice is fragrant, with hints of cinnamon and clove that give it a nutty, slightly sweet vibe. The chicken’s a little on the dry side (nothing tragic, but you’ll notice). Tasty hummus and finely chopped Greek salad swoop in to save the day. Arabic Chicken Shawarma The chicken in this, however, is anything but dry—it’s got a good char, and there's a well-balanced combo of pickles, sauce, and fresh foliage. The tortilla also works to keep everything neatly in place—something pita can struggle with. Gyro Sandwich Sure, there are better ones out there in Seattle, but this one gets the job done." - Kayla Sager-Riley

We just discovered this place when we had to stop by the Sherwin Williams paint store. What an amazing find! The food is delicious and plentiful. We liked the hummus so much we asked to buy a quarter pint to take home with us. The chicken in the shawarma was moist and flavorful and unlike a lot of chicken shawarma wraps, you get an even mixture of chicken, veggies and sauce in every bite. Easily could share this between 2 people. It comes with garlic sauce but honestly, it’s so juicy and flavorful, you don’t really need it. Then, we split the kofta / kufta kebab platter. The kebab was delicious and well seasoned and had that smoky charred flavor that made it even better. And plenty of sauce! And the rice! Oh my gosh, it was amazing. Not sure what spices they cook it in but it was awesome. My partner has been looking for a kebab place that lived up to the quality of places he ate at when he was much younger ….Shawarma Land hit the mark! We will definitely come back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious Middle Eastern food. Also, there’s parking!!! The service is friendly and nice and you can tell everything is homemade. The restaurant is small and very clean, with 3 tables and chairs, and free fresh cold water if you don’t want to purchase a beverage. We went there for lunchtime on a Sunday and there was seating. It’s only been open for 6 months and they said business is doing well. I can understand why!!

Not here to leave a negative review — just sharing my genuine experience. I visited this Mediterranean restaurant for lunch and ordered the chicken shawarma plate. Overall, it was okay, but a few things stood out. The hummus was really good. However, the rice was extremely oily. It had a very strong olive oil taste, and the amount of oil made it hard for me to eat much. In fact, when I lifted my plate, the oil had soaked through it and left a noticeable pool on the tray — a bit off-putting. The seating area is decent, and the store itself is clean, which I appreciated. Also, customer service was good — friendly and efficient. I think this place has potential, especially with how good the hummus was, but they could definitely improve the rice to make the overall dish more enjoyable.

AMAZING! The Arabic chicken shawarma, Greek fries and Arabic gyro were outstanding. The star of the show was the baklava! Best we’ve ever had!!

Easily one of the best chicken shawarma spots I’ve tried! The chicken was juicy and perfectly seasoned, the fries were crispy, and everything tasted fresh. Fast service, great prices, and a clean atmosphere — highly recommend it to anyone who loves quality food!

We got the gyro fries, and gyro plate with rice and hummus. The fries were delicious! The garlic sauce they cover the fries with is amazing! The gyro meat with rice and veggies were delicious. Will definitely come back again! Service is great. Happy to have more halal options in the area.

Shawarmaland is a welcomed addition to the neighborhood! Their gyro fries are straight-up magic: loaded with juicy meat and generous toppings, yet somehow still manage to keep their crispy dignity. Seriously, it’s a sauce-and-fries balancing act worthy of applause. The shawarma plates are just as solid—both the beef & lamb and chicken options hit the mark with bold spices, flavorful sauces, and fresh, vibrant ingredients. Love!

Google
Happy to see a Shawarma Land in the neighborhood. Ordered online for pickup and it was ready fast. The inside is super clean and new. Ordered Gyro Plate and it was delicious. I like they have a side of tzatziki instead of hummus. The salad, rice and meat all had great flavor. Also got a falafel sandwich. Falafel can be super dry but this was moist and tasty. The baklava was huge size. Most places are like half that size. Definitely will be back in the future.

Yelp
This is a new place that recently opened. 2 guys were working when I went in and they were very welcoming and friendly. It is a nice clean spot. They have a few tables and chairs. I ordered the beef/lamb shawarma plate which came with humus salad and pita bread. You could barely taste the lamb in the mix and I think it needed a bit more flavor compared to some other places. I would give them another try as I'm sure they will get better as they settle in. I also got the baklava which was really good! I would definitely get that again !

Yelp
Decided to check this new spot out after hearing about it from a neighbor. Pros: portion sizes are generous, they make everything fresh to order and don't skimp on any ingredients. Cons: the gyro meat is fine but not my favorite. The fries were not as crispy as I would've liked. Gyro plate: rice has good seasoning. Large pile of tzatziki sauce, includes a pita on the side. Arabic gyro: a couple bucks more than the regular gyro, but it is huge!! I personally prefer a pita wrap to the tortilla style wrap on this, but the amount of food you get is epic. Gyro fries: loaded with cheese and sauce. The fries were crispy when they first came out but quickly cooled down and got kind of soggy. Maybe could've used a bit more time in the fryer? Tastes like frozen fries but for the price I'm not complaining, very flavorful and you get a ton for $6. Also looks like they transitioned from crinkle fries based on old photos. Dolmas - no complaints, maybe could be under $6 though. TL:DR: solid spot for gyros in the area and will be coming back, looking forward to trying their regular gyro sandwich next time.

Yelp
Wow! Only open 2 weeks as of our visit. This place is great. We ordered falafel sandwiches, a falafel plate and the Greek salad. Very generous portions. Superb. The baba ganoush side was the best I'd had anywhere. I understand it's made fresh daily. The two guys running the place were super friendly. So many other things to try. We'll definitely be back.
