I love the ice cream & pound cake. My favorite is the banana pudding ice cream. I would love to give 5 stars, but when I order a pint I want it filled all the way to the top. Unfortunately, three different times, I’ve been disappointed when I make it home. I know I should’ve checked after the 2nd time, but I was rushing. Otherwise, they’re amazing

Their ice cream is literally the best i’ve ever had! My only complaint is that this location never allows for us to come inside. I’ve seen several people either leave or take their business next door because of it. Not many people see their sign but if they had their door propped open with music playing it’ll definitely attract more customers and allow for us to engage with the workers. It’s a very nice area!

Ive been here twice and both times the doors were closed. Like i dont understand why ppl aren’t lined up outside for this delicious ice cream. You guys have an awesome product but the marketing could probably be better. I saw a person walk up to the door and noticed it locked so they just left and went next door. I think you guys may be losing a lot of business because of that. Good luck tho…

So. . .first time there and walked in 30 min before closing and the peach cobbler was sold out, the pound cake sundae was a tasty replacement. Two days later, 3 hours before closing time, the peach cobbler is sold out? Okay, maybe it is THAT good. So. . . 1hour and 06 minutes after opening and the peach cobbler is sold out? WOW, I guess the supply is not meeting the demand. “There will be some more later or tomorrow. -Calls 4 hours later, “Sorry we’re sold out.” Alright, I’m done.

I always go for the delicious peach cobbler, lately it's sold out alot. I stopped by and I was able to grab some but unfortunately I could barely finish it, the crust was super soggy almost undercooked I was so disappointed.

Good vibe. However, this is my second purchase and the product was scarce. When you purchase a certain size you expect enough product. Flavors are always on point Purchased vegan ice cream.

Absolutely LOVE the honey graham and banana pudding ice cream flavor! This is my third time visiting! 1st, was for the soft opening, 2nd was for the grand opening and 3rd was today (8/26/22) after seeing their special on channel 7 today! 🙌🏼👏🏼Decided to try the peach cobbler and it was delicious! I want to try the sweet ice and apple cobbler next!🙌🏼 The drive thru is decent, but the inside is very beautiful! Update: 5/14/2023: the prices went up but, if you sign up for the reward program, the bogo pint special is worth it.

Just passing thru and me and my daughter stumbled across this nice ice cream shop. The words homemade ice cream and vegan ice cream drew my attention. The shop was nice and had a cool decorated space to sit. The people were nice and helpful. The ice cream tasted great.

We tried the single banana pudding ice cream and the lunchroom butter cookie child sundae. I did like the banana pudding ice cream it was pretty good. The butter cookie reminded me of a birthday cake flavor. It was good. I think $13 is little expensive for the amount you get though. The girl at the drive thru was friendly and the ice cream was very soft.

Best ice cream parlor in the area! Stopped here with my brother and nephew for a treat at the end of a long afternoon. Staff were helpful in letting us sample a couple flavors before making our selections. I chose a lemon ice cream, and my nephew got a cobbler a la mode (vanilla ice cream). Both flavors were rich, cool and creamy. We chose to relax inside and dine in, which was fun with the smattering of games on different tables like connect four, checkers, and jenga. Price point is a bit on the higher side, but everything tasted fantastic. I couldn't afford to come here regularly, but it's always a treat when I do. Will definitely be back the next time I'm back home.

Been here twice and the customer service was great both times. It's very clean inside as well. The bourbon butter pecan ice cream was superb and so was the banana pudding. My only gripe was that there was a teaspoon of pudding and a container full of cookies. The little bit of pudding that I received was some of the best I've had. The peach cobbler was also good. Definitely worth a visit if you haven't tried them yet.

bright, large space with unique flavors. we came at 7:57 not knowing they close at 8, but they were still happy to serve us even tho they had put away their ice cream. menu with flavors were displayed on large TV screens, but they weren't very clear and kept switching, making it hard to see all of your options. I got the tease, which was the smallest one, for 7.99. they allowed me to get two different scoops, so I got midnight mirage and cookies and creme. the c&c was very good, but I wouldn't have gotten the MM if I knew it would come with caramel. took away from the flavor and tasted artificial. overall, I wish they had an even smaller option, as the tease was still too big, and the price point isn't appealing. it would also be nice if they had outdoor seating.

Ice cream was really really tasty. Lotta flavors you don't see at many other places. Staff was super nice and willing to help despite it being 7:57 and it closing at 8. Like I said, good ice cream and nice staff but $7.99 for the smallest advertised cup seemed very pricey to me - I would've gotten a smaller serving but the menu didn't show anything smaller than a tease which was apparently 2 scoops tho it didn't explain it. I also found it frustrating that it closes at 8 - something people are still wrapping up dinner around then. Not only is that annoying as a customer but seems like a missed opportunity as a business. The location itself is cute inside and maybe it was just because I arrived late, but no seating outside was a bit of a bummer. Would go back if i have someone to split a tease cup with - you can get 2 flavors in them.

Awesome place to take your family for some delicious homemade ice cream with all the flavors you can imagine!!

We stopped in with only one customer ahead and waited 10 minutes for 2 ice cream cones. That had no waffle cones so we settled for sugar cones. Then to make matters worse she just put the scoop of ice cream right on top not pushing it in the cone and of course going out the door it fell right on the ground! So then gave me another scoop and charged me! The ice cream was good but I will definitely not patronize them again!

The peach cobbler was horrible. I thought it would be good because it was a black business. I will never order peach cobbler from here again.

They don't have vegan options. Many restaurants offer options and then get rid of them because the inventory doesn't move as fast. They offered vegan peach cobbler and a couple of their popular flavors were offered as vegan but then all of a sudden they stopped carrying them. It was very disappointing. They have great service and great offerings but unfortunately vegans are not catered to . Beautiful restaurant as well.

I am glad that Shawn Michelle's is now in Flossmoor instead of the city...since now I only have a 10 minute drive (vs. 40 minutes). What I like best about what they officer is their peach cobbler. Definitely tastes homemade and has a good flavor. They also sell poundcake made by Sweet Love that is my absolute favorite poundcake. I've tried several of their ice cream flavors, but honestly, I would rather have basic Baskin and Robbins instead. The prices are actually pretty high...with tax, one small piece of cake is around $6; their shakes are almost $10; and for a two scoop sundae, almost $13. That's expensive from my perspective. So...I'd definitely recommend stopping by to try them...and go with the peach cobbler and poundcake.

My pint of butter pecan tased good but it had ice crystals in it taking away from it's creamy texture.

I really wanted to like this place but I Love it! As a regular ice cream eater, Shawn Michelle's has now replaced the other places I frequent. Since it's a soft opening I am waiting patiently for the full experience. I was forewarned from others who have gone to the Chicago location that it was good but I still felt unprepared. My husband got the banana pudding- stuck my spoon in. I had the butter cookie. Both were fantastic! Not too sweet, very creamy and packed to go very well. Staff was friendly as well. This business is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. They will have all my dessert money!

Happy atmosphere. Attentive when I walked in. Ice cream tasted high quality with great amount of flavor. Presentation of sundae looked yummy as much as it tasted yummy!

Best ice cream I've ever had! So glad I finally went in! I had three samples and all of them were incredible. I could not make a decision, so I had two scoops. I'm already wanting to go back to try more flavors! I mean, Banana pudding ice cream (with Nilla wafers in it) , Black Walnut and Pistachio! Their Vanilla had so much vanilla flavor! Pow! I was blown away. Truly. Go!!!! Look at all my !!!!!!! LOL

The ice cream is absolutely amazing. I was in town with family and no one knew this place was there which is crazy because it's delicious. I found it on Google and the next time I'm back in Illinois this will be my first stop. Very nice and friendly staff as well who helped us in the drive thru. We had a big order and everything was perfect.

One of my favorite places to get ice-cream! It tastes very fresh and the flavors are unique. They also have games inside that you can play while you eat your ice-cream such as chess, checkers, connect 4, and jenga. Sometimes they play music inside. The staff is always very respectful and kind. They are also patient when allowing people to sample the flavors. There is a drive-thru as well. I recommend the banana pudding, lunchroom butter cookie, and lemon pound cake ice-creams. (Some of my favorite flavors) They also run specials to get discounted prices.

5 stars isn't enough for this. Don't pass this area without giving your ice cream taste buds a special treat. Your only problem will be deciding which flavor to choose. Volunteering at the BMW and topped off the afternoon here couldn't be beat. Let's double the stars to 10!

I hadn't even eaten any of this. It is freshly opened and this was all that was given to me. I spent 13 bucks for one scoop of vanilla and a small cobbler and they literally gave me a table spoon full of crust and peaches. I'm not sure if I'll be returning.

Friendly, minority owned, yummy ice cream with both traditional and new flavors. They also have vegan ice cream! It's a little pricey but not if you consider that you're getting real ice cream made by a local business. Sign up for their text list and you'll get BOGO deals. I got two double scoop orders for $8!

Highly recommend! Came for the soft opening at 9p and the honey graham ice cream is really good! I've heard from other reviews at the Bronzeville location (never been) that their peach cobbler is amazing! I can't wait until the grand opening on 7/9/22!

The ice cream is really good! I had a cup of the old fashioned vanilla and honey cinnamon favors. Excellent!! By the way, the staff welcomed everyone and that's a welcomed relief especially when no one says anything when you walk into their establishment!! Excellent service!! Today's special was buy 1 get 1. I will be back!

It was my first time there and the ice cream is tasty. I've would've given more stars, but I've purchased two of the $7.99 cups and they did not fill them up. I've also purchased the banana pudding, caramel cake (have not tried them yet) and a piña colada sweet ice (was very good). I was going to go back and try the black walnut since it wasn't ready, but a half cup for $8 is not worth it! I wish I would've noticed before I left, but the other items were on top.

The store is clean ,colorful and inviting. The service was quick and friendly. Staff welcomes you and shares their menu and offers toppings as well as suggestions on what else may be good for your sweet taste buds. The prices are reasonable and they have delicious menu offerings that are not ice cream such as cobbler, biter cookies and pound cake. We will be back!

Great selections! Taste is very good, but they may want to rethink there prices. Not sure how long they'll last at that price point ?

Very excited to see this new ice cream shop in the area. Cute decor and the staff is beyond friendly. I had the peach cobbler I kept hearing about. Since I really only I love mine served ala mode, when it was recommended - it was right on time. Serving size was disappointing. Big container with not more than 2 tablespoons of cobbler at best. Cobbler is really sweet so if you like that you will be happy. I was shocked at a milkshake for $10, as well as pretty pricey 1 scoop. Overpriced!! I suggest that they label the ice cream because you look down in freezer and really don't know what the flavors are, and who wants to keep asking "what's this one, what's this one?" Some are obvious of course, but still - label them all please! I see an opportunity for some fun and catchy flavor names! Since the prices are a bit high, hope they get repeat business.

I love their ice cream. The flavors are great and staff is always helpful. There are a lot of pricing comments in other reviews but I think the pricing is fine for homemade (especially considering the by one get one deal for the rest of '23). Strong recommend if you are looking for desert that tastes homemade.

the ice cream is so good I went in for a taste test and left out with different scoops of ice cream. I let my family taste it and they also loved it. my favorite is banana pudding ice cream. all home made. the staff was very nice as well.

This the best ice cream. I have tried several flavors and they all have been fantastic. The Bourbon Butter Pecan is epic and I'm normally not a fan of Butter Pecan. It is great to have them in the South Suburbs

I found the peach cobbler to be too sweet, too much liquid, and too expensive. My total order came to $19.01 and I paid with a $20 bill and was told they don't give change. Service was slow. the banana pudding custard was good, and a bit sweet.

The place is jus mad good bro. They're grandmas homemade ice cream is crazy good and the workers are cool too. Espicially this one male worker with short hair he's probs my favorite there he needs a raise ong. They greet you when You go in n stuff and they always say thanks for coming when u leave. I saw about this place on a show called "Somebody Feed Phil." So we had to try it. Amazing ice cream! I loved the banana pudding and my hubby got peach cobbler with ice cream on it. Seriously... try it if in Chicago area!! You won't regret it.
