4/5 Food was plane, nothing very tasty nor special. Kubide(?) was even slightly disappointing. I'd appreciate more if they had more veggies on their dish. And the service was very slow. Even though only 3 tables were occupied, it took more than 30 minutes to just make an eye contact to pay the bill. There are better restaurants to visit in the city.

Fantastic Food and Great Service! We eat at this Restaurant, and we were very impressed! The koobideh was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The Ghormeh Sabzi was delicious with a rich, authentic taste that reminded me of home. And I have to mention the tahdig—crispy, golden, and simply amazing. The portions were generous, and the service was warm and welcoming. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic Persian cuisine!

Nice and warm ambiance, great Persian food, professional hospitality. Highly recommended. Will definitely come back again. Armin took care of our party perfectly, he’s been kind and we felt we knew him for a long time.

What’s not to like!? GM Arman and bar manager Jay are masters of their craft. Amazing and welcoming service with an amazing modern layout. Beautiful bar with a view to the city if you choose. Amazing apps and mains, priced in my opinion low that are of high quality and delicious. I’ve been in the service industry for over a decade, but still in the field of customer service, I’d work here. So happy I’m a hop skip away, they allow my service dog and make me feel welcome. If you’re looking for a place to unwind, take a break from the hustle and bustle and not break your wallet….this is the place! Thank me later.

This place was incredible! Lets just start there My baby girl and I had a last minute date night.. we stopped for some wine down the street and wanted a nice dinner. She found this place and I was too hype she did. Incredible ambiance -soothing music -creative artwork -attentive wait staff Everyone was helpful and looked to help us with any of our needs. Now to the food.. we ordered the branzino & the grilled salmon both had incredible flavor. They were served with dill rice and a flavorful Shirazi. I couldn't stop smelling the food each item was so aromatic. The hummus even the pita bread.. everything was exactly how I'd want it to be and I can't wait to go back Do yourself a favor and make a last minute trip or planned one.. you won't be disappointed

We had an informal work dinner here based on location to our hotel and the reviews. It was amazing. We let our host pick a family style meal and had a fantastic time. Very good drinks and super friendly staff. We'd certainly come back on future trips.

I ordered Sadie's Pizza (within Shekarchi's) via phone. The pickup time was ~15-20 mins after placing an order. Shekarchi is clean and cozy and had friendly staff who were welcoming upon arrival. The pizzas were ready when we got there! We got the Hawaiian (red sauce with ham and pineapple) and Classic Bianca (white sauce), and liked them both. Generous toppings, good flavors, and tasty crust. Can't wait to try other pizzas next time!

I dined at Shekarchi Bar & Grill on the evening of Wednesday, February 19th and I do not plan on visiting this establishment again. Upon arriving, the restaurant was practically empty and there was one waitress and another older man, who I assume is somewhere higher up on the management level. My friend and I were told to sit anywhere we wanted and we waited around 10-15 minutes without being given a menu. The waitress was behind the bar, preoccupied with making drinks for a bigger table and the older man, who walked past us multiple times, simply ignored us. I eventually got up to get our menus after almost 20 minutes of just sitting and waiting for either of them to approach us. However, before I got up to grab the menus on my own, a Middle Eastern family walked in around 15 minutes after my friend and I did. The older man immediately attended to them with menus and waters before my friend and I were even given the slightest bit of attention. I understand that we are two younger females, but to treat us in this manner is absolutely ridiculous as we are equally paying customers too. Once the Middle Eastern family was seated with their menus and waters did the older man finally approach my friend and I, plastering on the biggest smile and acting overly friendly to take our order as if he did not just blatantly ignore us multiple times. While my friend and I stayed for dinner, I will not be coming back because of how we were treated. As for the food, it was not that bad, but it was not the best either. I have had better mediterranean food, and amazing service, elsewhere.

Really bad service. The lady and the busboy who was serving us was trying her best however the manager or the guy who is in suit was literally so rude and had horrible attitude. We kindly asked if they can change the music to Middle Eastern we were the only people at the restaurant at night (no wonder why) and he rudely declined our request that is so easy to do. Food was okay ground beef was horrible other than that everything was okay not the best. Dont expect to have really delicious food its just same as a fast food Mediterranean shop. We will never come back.

Demolished our food and an awesome soothing Persian Tea! Great afternoon ring shopping and I literally ate almost everything! The owner is a very nice and gracious gentleman! Their hummus is unmatched, and their fries stayed crispy after me and the fiance-to-be talked and laughed fir a while! Great music! A must stop for couples while they are looking for the perfect ring in the DTLA jewelry district! Five stars!!

My favorite kabob restaurant - I have been going to this restaurant (even when they were in Hill St.) for more than 20 years. Love the beef koobideh and green rice. The servers have been there for as long as I can remember. Delicious Persian food. Generous portion and price is reasonable . The restaurant is very clean and spacious. Parking is available in a nearby lot for a fee. Highly recommended .

I called and ordered a pizza to pick up (we were starving and ate most of the pizza before I remembered to take the picture, oops!). Sadie's is inside Shekarchi which confused me at first but the gentleman I spoke to was very nice and helpful. The pizza was absolutely delicious and the service was great. I'd definitely come back and dine in.

Who doesn't love Mediterranean cuisine. Heard good things about this restaurant. Finally made it in and we weren't disappointed. Upon entering one is blown away by the beautiful decor and artwork. Just the perfect vibe. For starters we shared humus and no complaints there. But the star of the show was their chicken and steak dish. Super tasty and juicy. Well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The service was on point. For dessert we ordered a martini and a margarita. Well made and they hit the spot. Also had a couple of beers. We left very happy.

Great Mediterranean find in downtown LA. The place was spacious with a dance floor and large seating area. I was unclear what vibe it was going for based on the decorations but it was a great lunch spot. I really liked my kabob and the salad was fresh and herbaceous. All the flavors were there and I had leftovers to take home as well. It took a little while to get our check at the end but loved all the food.

Nice and classy ambiance throughout the whole restaurant. Outdoor seating is great and dog friendly. I gave this restaurant 3 stars solely for their filet mignon skewer lacking in flavor and tenderness. Other than that there isn't much to rave about for this restaurant.

My husband has been wanting to take me to this restaurant and today was the day. This place is NICE! Upscale eating experience. We had passion fruit martini. These drinks were delicious. It hits your taste buds with the aromatic smells just the right way. Get this drink! To eat we had filet mignon kabob with the Dill rice and I had the chicken (dark meat) kabob with Dill rice. Both meats were very tasty and delicious. The dill rice was also delightful. We had wonderful service. He made sure we were very taken care of.

This place is very OG. It's been in downtown for a really long time and for that alone deserves it's flowers. The fact that they have been serving consistently good food at consistently good prices is a massive bonus.

Hmm. 3 stars to me means just ok. It's not remarkable but also not super awful. The space itself is gorgeous. High ceilings, fully stocked bar, comfortable booths. Employees were attentive and polite. Full points for ambiance and service. But the food left a lot to be desired. The rice was good-- I like when Persian and Indian restaurants use parboiled basmati so I was enjoying that. Kebab was ok. The Ghormeh Sabzi stew lacked the tart depth from dry limes. Everyone makes it differently but it usually have more of a tart flavor than I had here. I wish it was also a bit thicker with the Sabzi part. Overall, would I stop by again or order for lunch? Hmm maybe. It didn't blow me away. I'd definitely prefer to go to other establishments that I've been to.

Just a short 8 min walk from LA Live, this place has great food, reasonable prices, and WAY LESS lines than the restaurants directly inside LA Live and with 1-2 blocks. Got the Greek salad and the dolmas. Had a bit of everyone else's meal at the table too and from the kebabs to the spicy hummus, everything was full of flavor and delicious. It is a little more of a walk from LA Live but there is so little wait and such great service, it is the best dining hack for LA Live out there!

I don't know if it was the wrong time of day to come, but I was really disappointed with Shekarchi. The food looked amazing, but it was not good. It was like the koobideh was both undercooked and overcooked. The outside was charred but the inside was mushy and I couldn't tell if it was raw or not. Either way, the texture was not enjoyable. The salad shirazi was tasteless...like no lemon at all! Considering how cute this place is, I wanted to like it but I just couldn't. How unfortunate!

Really yummy persian food and beautiful restaurant with lots of tables and seating. Food is high quality and kabobs are very traditional - fatty and juicy like how my parents would have them in Iran. Portions are quite large and I like that you can order stews on the side so you can try a bit of everything. I'd recommend getting a kabob and a stew!

Food was not good. Ground beef kebab had no taste. Tasted as if no seasoning was put into it. Ordered grilled veggies. 2/3 of the veggies were onions. We were fooled by the good reviews. Don't waste your time stopping by.

Chose this restaurant while visiting Los Angeles with my Persian wife who wanted to introduce me to some tasty Persian food we can't get back home. We were not disappointed and left stuffed! Kashkeh bademjoon was so good. I would definitely order this again. The roasted tomato was delicious. Koobideh and filet mignon kebabs were also delicious. The Abali soda might be an acquired taste if you've never tried it although my Persian wife was so glad it was on the menu and it brought back memories for her.

Located in DTLA, this spot is not to be missed!! What is an otherwise unassuming exterior opens up to an incredible interior space complete with a private upstairs dining room and a dance floor! I was lucky enough to come with my coworkers and boy when I tell you this is one of the best meals of my life. You can 100% take that to the bank! The meats were some of the most tender and juiciest I have ever tasted. Highly highly highly recommend to everyone!

Best Mediterranean food in the city! Came here to celebrate my mom's birthday and she loved it. The service was amazing and the food was soooooo good. I only took a picture of my mom's lamb, but the chicken and ground sirloin kabobs that I got were great as well. They even sang happy birthday to my mom and made her feel special. This is a must try in LA.

Best kabob I've had. We had one dark chicken, one filet and one ground beef. Each was amazing, seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection. I guess the chicken kind of amazed that it was as good as the beef options. This was more than enough for two. We each chose the salad and that was super fresh and delicious with a homemade dressing. The Arnold palmers had the right ratio of tea to lemonade, not too much sugar, and free refills. Owner came out and greeted us, gave us a small baklava . Also, the dining room is BEAUTIFUL. It's big and has super cool ancient style art everywhere. Truly amazing. I also just read that they have happy hour M-F 5-8. Skip panini kabob grill and walk a block over for authentic, delicious Persian/mediterranean food!

Amazing Persian food! I had the filet mignon kabobs with rice and salad and they were so gooood! Try it, you won't regret it. ‼‼ drinks were good too from the bar. Ali and his staff were very friendly and the ambiance is great here.

There was no line go get in SHEKARCHI BAR & GRILL. There was no line to get seated, and the wait to get our food also didn't take that long. Our server was great! He got each of our party of 12's lunch orders without writing everything down and he got it right. His recommendations were also spot on. Expecting a large portion, I only ordered the 1-Skewer Koobideh and still got a super large order! The space is beautiful. Saw their old location and this was definitely better. High ceilings, large and clean interior, beautiful space. The garlic butter is amazing.

I had bookmarked this place for a long time and never had the chance to go to it. I was in the area and was searching for Middle Eastern food and looked that I had bookmarked this place and figured why not let's give it a try. I am really glad I tried it. The food was phenomenally good, and the service was outstanding. The person helping us recommended to do the family style four types of meat, and each one of us had a plate with the rice and salad. He even brought some hummus and yogurt with cucumbers on the house. The place Was beautiful and spacious! I will recommend it to everyone

The food was excellent here! We celebrated my Moms birthday here for lunch. We had a large party and ordered their mixed meats, humus, wings that had homemade ranch, and Mediterranean salad with homemade dressing. Everything was amazing! Food was made to order. Hummus was rich and creamy. Meats were well seasoned. We had the barg, the beef and chicken kabab. No complaints whatsoever. The restaurant was modern and very very clean! Bar area was nice and a place that you would definitely want to go to for a nice date or nice dinner out with the family. Loved their decor. The owners were the servers. They were extremely nice and Johnny on the spot with the refills, the food, and service. What a great place that gives great food and better customer service! Thank you!

Had this place ordered at work. Food was ok as I was expecting more. Maybe that was just bad luck on my part. If I try again, I will update this review. Salad dressing was the star for me.

This is a must try! Food is super delicious, great atmosphere and service is just great! Drinks are fabulous! I did notice some type possible dance floor or maybe it's for karaoke, just guessing. If you in DTLA and looking for great food stop by a check it out, you won't regret it

Wow, wow, wow. This is not your typical Persian restaurant. The build out is amazing. It has a modern industrial vibe, very New York. Really nice full bar. The food was amazing, we had lamb chops, the Branzino, and the Persian Stew with Eggplant (Gheymeh Bademjoon Stew). Appetizers we had were Cucumber Yogurt and Kashkeh Bademjoon (smoked eggplant dish). They have a pizza oven. Our kids ordered a pizza and it was really good Neapolitan Style pizza. I was really surprised at how good the pizza was at a Persian restaurant. The food was really awesome, the vibe of the restaurant was awesome. Will definitely be back.

The restaurant is large and tastefully decorated. You can tell it's set up for large groups and special events -- there's a dance floor in the center of the room and a private room at the top of the stairs. The menu offers your typical Mediterranean dishes. We opted to share a bowl of lentil soup and hummus, and also ordered the soltani plate (filet mignon + koobideh) as well as the 2 skewers of koobideh plate. Koobideh is a meat kabab made from ground lamb or beef, often mixed with ground pepper and chopped onions. Well, first of all, the lentil soup was very bland. We needed to add salt in order to eat it. And though the hummus looked appetizing, it too, was very bland, and the pita bread that comes with it, was hard and chewy. We asked our server to heat up the pita, and it was still very hard and chewy. Obviously it is not high quality pita bread. When the plates came out, they were large. We were hoping they would taste better. Well, we were wrong. Though the filet mignon on my plate was cooked appropriately, it was bland. It was if the chef forgot to salt it. Basic salt and pepper with steak when marinating, people -- c'mon! As for the koobideh, it had the weirdest texture -- it was soggy and slimy, and the flavor was off. It definitely had no semblance of ground beef or lamb. In fact, it tasted eggy. We suspected this was FAKE MEAT, because it certainly did not taste like meat at all!! The only thing they got right on the plates was the basmati rice and blistered tomato. Sad. Extremely disappointing. Plates here are not cheap -- my soltani was $30 and the 2 koobideh skewers was $22. We felt like this was certainly a rip-off as the food was terrible. Do yourself a favor and eat at a hole-in-the-wall gyro shop or some place like CAVA or Pita Cafe where the food is half the price and 1,000X better quality and more flavorful! If you want fancy, go to Flame Persian Cuisine in Westwood -- EXCELLENT food and stellar service. Shekarchi -- whoever is cooking the food needs to learn how to season the food properly. And definitely look into the texture and taste of the koobideh -- this was the absolute worst koobideh we have ever had.

Beautiful place with horrible cook or recipe. I don't know but I think not even salt and pepper on the koobideh. Yogurt drink was the only thing good.

I went there and I meet with someone l believe his name was Ali at the cash register and I asked him if the food is Halal, he left me and went to service Alcohol to another customer at the bar and he said the food menu at the cash register look for it and that was the worst customer service experience I ever had. So I left and I find another halal restaurant close by.

What an absolute delight! My friend recommended this place and I can totally see why. The atmosphere is refreshing and upscale without feeling stuffy and the staff was incredibly accommodating and helpful(thank you Armin)! The food was fresh and very tasty(the grilled salmon was epic). We will definitely be coming back!

I love the food. I come back here for Persian ice cream and hummus. My favorites. Today I tried Chicken Kabob. Delicious. The only bad side is that there is only one lady, that has to serve the entire restaurant. She is a hostess, she is a bartender, she is a server. It was Wednesday, but still the restaurant is around 40% full. It is not cool to wait for tea refill for 10-15 minutes and keep trying to catch the server somehow. At the same time I totally understand her because she has to do all this job that usually is done by several people. It is the only side that spoils the impression of visiting the place. But this side is service. It is really important part. Not less important then quality of the food. Hope the management will pay attention to this to make experience of their guests better. I sincerely wish growth and bigger success to this restaurant! I will still come back and continue recommending to my friends.

We went there with my friend from OC and we found this place on Yelp. Food was good average, we order Koobideh kabob was very good so testy and Beef Soltani was good, plate looks little empty. Ambiance was nice and fancy. Customer service was slow because only one person was taking care of all table and other staff were eating food. In general it was good experience will try this place again.
