Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is a few of the drinks we wanted to try were out. Otherwise we were able to walk in and get a seat, we were staying near by so lucky enough to walk, not sure how parking would be otherwise, scan a QR code and order your own food. It was pretty easy and straight forward. The food was absolutely amazing and fresh. Good portions as well. Very friendly staff. Clean restaurant. Good atmosphere. Would recommend and return. Good for all party sizes. Lots of couples, but also had a large birthday party:

This is the very best place in Mammoth. The food is amazing. Jesus, the bartender, is creative and makes some of the best drinks. Estefania is welcoming and works hard to keep the place running smoothly. Jesus, the manager, is personable and does a great job keeping the food top notch and the drinks way above average. We thoroughly enjoy our stay in Mammoth but our destination is always Shelter. Thanks for a great experience every time we come.

It was Taco Tuesday so we ordered $5 tacos and $10 Margarita. We tried pork belly, sweet potato, shrimp, fish, carne asada, and spicy chicken tacos and I have to say the pork belly and spicy chicken were my favorite. All were tasty. The bartender gal even tasted drinks (with a finger on a straw holding some of the drink) before serving. Very friendly staff. The vibe and music were enjoyable. HH is M-Th 2-4 and they offer a few drinks and food items. Looking forward to trying some other things on their menu. Came backs 2nd time!

The food was really good. While it was busy we were able to find a seat. Ordering is done online through a QR code linked to where you are sitting. Once the food was ordered it was ready in about 10-15 minutes. The cheese curds had a lot of flavor but the marinara sauce it comes with is not warm. I think it would be better if it was warm. The nachos were filling and the different cheeses go well together. These dishes are good to share.

Their food is actually pretty good and big portions. The scallop roll was huge. The service is pretty bad, but the staff is setup for mediocrity. You either order at the station where you walk in like a chipotle or off these of crappy QR codes. I've never seen so much staff do so little because as soon as they've delivered whatever they need to they are head down staring at the ground behind the bar. The spirits are pretty meh as well. I'd come again just for the food.

Okay we had to come here twice during our Mammoth Lakes trip, we loved the Hawaiian pizza so much! If you’re a Hawaiian pizza eater, definitely stop in to try it. It comes with not only pineapple, but also mandarin (which sounds a little odd) but it seriously was delicious. I also ordered a house made ranch to dip (iykyk) and wow I could have eaten 3 of these. My husband went with the tacos, which were very good. The second time we came here, we decided to try some of their drinks and were not disappointed! The espresso martini was great. And the old fashioned was good too. Ordered the cake with ice cream for dessert, was good (maybe better for vanilla lovers though). On top of great food, you also get an awesome atmosphere at this place. It’s right in town, and they have a lot of open air seating so you can enjoy the local music and people watch. Very cool place, definitely best food we had in Mammoth.

I wanted to try their Bourbon but they said they didn’t pour Bourbon? So I tried their whiskey and it tasted ok at best, nothing you can not buy for $20 a bottle. Food, mine came and the chicken was dry and my wife’s and daughters came after I was done eating. The girls said their steak sandwich’s were very good! I would try somewhere else if I make another trip here

We had a nice late lunch with the gluten free pepperoni pizza, the brisket sandwich and the veggie pizza. The pizzas were legit but a bit small. Overall a good option for a Gluten Free meal.

A really fun place to check out, right in the heart of Mammoth Lakes Village. Urban hipster vibe, with a view of the working side of the distillery operation. I've always admired the complex labyrinth of water lines, fermentation tanks, etc, required for brewing and distilling. It's beautiful in a steampunk sort of way! Although I didn't sample any of the spirits (this time!) I did try a flight of their craft beers, which included a hard cider that I found truly delightful. They have a host of innovative food offerings, and a happy hour menu that won't leave you disappointed. I'll be back for a tasting of their whiskeys for sure!

Beautiful distillery! Very efficient ordering process and helpful staff. You can order directly at the counter or by scanning the QR code at the tables. Plenty of seating! The ahi tostadas were delicious and had a little kick to them. The Pepperoncini martini was okay. It was very spirit forward (which I know is expected from a martini), but left me wanting more pepperoncini and pickle flavor based on the name. Overall, good food at a reasonable price.

We visited Shelter Distilling for dinner and found it very busy. Seating was self-serve and we were able to snag a table just as another party was leaving. The vibe inside was industrial but still cozy, with a large chandelier and nice live music. We ordered right from the table (Toast QR Code), which was convenient. All three of us got Hot Chocolates to warm up, which were actually delicious. I was especially impressed by the house-made whipped cream. For food, we shared an order of Fried Cheese Curds, which were awesome. I wish they had come with ranch too, not just ketchup. I was starving, so I ordered both the Beet Salad and Spicy Tuna Hand-roll. Both were just fine. The beets were the best part of the salad, but it wasn't anything memorable. The Hand-roll was filling, but they went pretty heavy on the spicy mayo. My friends also said their food was good, but nothing mind-blowing. Overall, this place was just solid for dinner and service was quick.

Went there last night, at first we couldn't find it lol.. the waitress are ok, the food was delicious. The environment was not crowded. We recommend the pork belly taco!! So delicious!!

Service is non existent, not because it's bad but because you order through your phone and pay through your phone. Place is your typical gastropub brewery set up with tons of tables and spacious seating. I liked the food, just found it to be expensive for literally no reason. Also I HAAAAAATE that you can order whatever on the menu and it will cancel items for you (after you confirmed the order) without notice. My families dinner came out but my partner was missing their dish. I was able to flag someone down and asked about it and their lousy response was "oh the online order came through but we cancelled the French dip because we sold out". I asked them when we would be notified and the server said it doesn't...... so my family waited for my partners dish to come out and everything was cold by then... very unpleasant experience. 2.5/5

The food is so good here, we tried a pork belly taco and OMG the best, so tasty and juicy We also had a pepperoni pizza, a rajas dip, and a cheesecake for dessert. Everything tasted delicious. We had a sampler of beer and it came with a cider, the beers were good, but I'm not a fan of the ciders. It's a nice location and they have outside seating for furry babies so that's a plus for me. The service was good, you order with your phone and they bring the food to you.

So surprised with how good this place is. Not a fan of the restaurants at The Village but we were in need of place where we could bring in a stroller. The nachos with chicken were very flavorful and well packed with protein. Specialty pizza was really good too. Seasonal drinks were fun! So glad we stopped here. Ambiance was fun, would love to come back!

Atmosphere: 5/5 - This distillery was a great place to go after a long day of snowboarding. It's conveniently located at one of the lodges near our stay, and had plenty of indoor seating and some outdoor seating. Service: 5/5 - They had a QR code on the table where you can order your food. I really liked this feature because it was user-friendly and efficient. Upon ordering, the food came relatively quick thereafter. Food: 4/5 - I got the seared ahi dish which was good. I wish it came with some sort of nuts or wonton chips to give it a crunch. The seared ahi was seasoned with zesty sesame sauce which tasted great, but it was a bit overpowering after a few bites. I loved that it came with avocados and that the portion was big. It was a filling, delicious, refreshing meal. I recommend checking this place out if you are in Mammoth. I also tried my bf's pork belly taco and it was really good, so I'd definitely come back to try their other items on the menu.

This place is very popular and always busy. I would recommend coming here mainly for the cocktails, as the food is quite average.

0!!!!! We were waiting in line over 45 mins, we bought beer from their fridge, we're finally seated, then the bar tender approached us saying we have to leave because we're drinking cans of beer in the restaurant. We were upset because we bought this beer from them, are starving, and already ordered food. They said they'll cancel it and we have to go. In the meantime we order a round of shots & get served. Then management comes up and threatens calling the police. Absolutely insane experience. Would not recommend! Especially Jesus Leon, he was condescending & sexist. I will NEVER be returning

Beautiful place where you seat yourself and they give you a QR code and you order through the toast app. No server, just food runners. So if you want a night out and great service this is not your spot. But drinks in a loud environment with solid food, this is your jam. For appetizers we started with the Serrano and artichoke dip. I loved the Serrano which cut through the richness. We also had the hummus trio which was a huge amount of hummus, I especially loved the pesto flavor. They barely give you enough pita so you have half the hummus left on the plate when you run out of things to dip into it. For the mains I had a sad shrimp taco and a chewy carne asada taco. Being from SoCal and eating good Mexican all the time, I would skip these. The Ahi salad was excellent! And so was the Beet Salad with goat cheese. My daughter had a steak sandwich, which i had a bite and thought it was solid and the pizza looked good. I asked for an extra dressing for the beet salad and the guy said no problem and never came back. Cool concept, I get the do it yourself concept, but I wouldn't say I would seek it out. But the food was solid sans the tacos and I would eat here again.

I'm so glad we stumbled upon this trendy spot in the Village after a day on the slopes! We were able to grab a spot at the bar but could have sat outside at their cute patio as it was a nice winter day. I noticed it was a perfect outdoor patio if you had a pup with you. They have a convenient QR ordering system, however, since we were at the bar, the bartenders offered to take our order. Speaking of bartenders, the four women behind the bar were outstanding. These bartenders displayed the utmost professionalism I think I've witnessed behind a bar in years. They worked seamlessly together. We were very impressed. My husband ordered the Lakeside Lager and I ordered the Pearfect Martini. The martini was delicious. My husband enjoyed the lager. We ordered the poblano artichoke dip which was very good. We also ordered a spirit flight which included the east side liquor, American single malt whisky, small batch blue corn Bourbon and the little green monster. All were tasty. The only negative about the tasting is that the flight tasting was so small it was barely a sip so very difficult to really enjoy a "tasting". Prices were reasonable as well compared to other Mammoth bars and restaurants. I would recommend stopping by Shelter Distillery if in the Village!

Came to Shelter Distilling after a long day of boarding at Mammoth & the food was pretty good. My friends and I ordered the smash burgers, tacos, the buffalo chicken pizza, and nachos. I'm giving this place a 2/5 stars because our server had such poor customer service. We were super nice + patient waiting for our food but he just did not look like he wanted to help us ... but was SUPER friendly with the customers all around us since he was serving them too. It really felt like he was treating us differently because we were all Asian. While he barely acknowledged our table, he was noticeably warm and attentive to the other customers around us, who were not Asian. We asked for a to-go box and had to chase him down since he barely helped our table/came by. Once he brought the to-go boxes he kinda shoved it to me instead of handing it to me normally -- which caught me off guard. I wouldn't come back because I was super disappointed with the service. It was super unwelcoming and I hope no one ever experiences that here.

Eh. Service was so so. Liquor was unremarkable. Little ambiance and didn't seem to mar an effort around apres ski with outdoor space and heaters.

I've been here before and had ok service. We sat at the bar for 15 mins today. Only about 6 people at the bar. Not one person back there said hello or please order off the QR code. Just walked past us multiple times. All 3 of them. I get it you get busy etc but this was awful. We couldn't even cancel our QR order because it was sitting in the girls hand for 10 mins taking ordered for other customers. Teach your bartenders to help the people sitting at the counter. Or simply have a smile and a say hi we will be with you soon. I'm still flabbergasted. We won't be back either.

This place has really good food and drinks. The hummus were delicious and service was excellent here. We came here on a slow night after a day on the mountain and it was excellent here. We will definitely come back

Always a fav spot to come enjoy cocktails and food. The burger was insane and even the kids burger was a great size. Plenty of indoor seating and in a great spot of town.

The service was amazing! We sat at the bar, our server was a brunette (forget her name) she was very friendly and talked to us about the town! We had no wait and the food came out so quickly! All of the food was super fresh and good! Only thing that was bad was the parking.

Shelter Distilling is such a vibe located in the heart of the Mammoth Village. We stopped in for some lunch snacks and a drink. The service here is similar to many places in Mammoth. You have to order using a QR code or at the bar and they bring the food to your table. It's not the best way of ordering in my opinion, but it's how it goes. Shelter makes their own spirits and beer. I tried the lager which was good. I liked that they served their beer straight out of the fermentation tanks. The pretzel sticks were good, and the mustard dipping sauce was the best. The cheese sauce was a bit underdeveloped. The pork belly tacos were great. Pork was cooked well but I did think they needed a better sauce. Overall, the food and the vibe at Shelter make up for the weird ordering and my small nitpicks. I would recommend Shelter Distilling as the best dining option in Mammoth Village.

Good drinks and a great happy hour. The service is always great. This place can get packed and they still give great quick service. The ambiance is cool you see the distillery in the back. Don't forget to try a flight of their alcohol it's a great experience. You need to try their tacos. The shrimp and pork belly are my favorite. The cheese curds are always great! You're drinking, who doesn't want fried cheese to snack on. The nachos are delicious their cheese sauce and cojita cheese to chip ratio is perfect. You'll have cheese with every bite. Add some meat if you need to hit your protein goals.

This place has some seriously upscale food and drinks, and while the price is a bit much, it's completely worth it! I had the Maple Whiskey Sour, Thai Tea Cocktail, and Beet Cocktail, and they were all absolutely amazing. Don't know if I've had a better cocktail than here. On top of that, the ambiance is perfectly chill and moody.

Absolutely LOVE this place. Some people might complain that the ordering and service is all self serve, which honestly isn't the worst. It's definitely different. No requirement for tips since there's really no "service" though. Food is always great and so are the drinks.

Spent the weekend in Mammoth with friends for the annual wine tasting festival and stopped here for dinner the night before. As with most restaurants adopting the QR code menu these days, I kinda like not having to waste paper and other materials on menus. Ordering was easy as well as paying for our items. As for the food, it was very good, high quality ingredients, and it came out quickly and our server was very efficient. The only downside was they offer a limited selection of adult beverages and no wine offerings.

Nice bar & restaurant located at the Mammoth Village. Modern decor and plenty of seating. You order from the table by scanning the menu and they bring your items to you. Food is okay but on the pricy side. However it is Mammoth and most things here seems to be on the pricy side. Good place for hanging out with a group of friends to eat and drink.

This was the steak I ordered, I requested sweet potato fries... and got barbecue chips. Service was lacking and workers were rude. Food was okay, not worth the expensive prices (also it took an hour to get the food)

Service... I was sitting here enjoying my cocktail the entire bar table gets sprayed by water including my arm my face and my phone... like wtf I have mascara on I have to say excuse me over three times for anyone to even respond they act like I'm over reacting tell me it's just water ... then they add "clean water " idgaf you just sprayed me and scared the shit out of me lol hand me napkins to dry myself

So so good!!! We didn't know what to expect as it looks very simple at first glance. Someone at our hotel suggested we try it - said the food and drinks were amazing! We were blown away. Drinks were the best we have ever had. Try the margarita! It's beyond! The only thing that could be improved is the ordering. You order on your phone and pay on your phone. So if you're needing extra help or have a question it's not possible. But it's worth it for the food and delicious drinks!!

Wait 50 minutes for 3 smashburgers. Just go somewhere else for food if you're hungry and only come here for drinks.

Service is nearly non-existent at this location. You order from a code at the table through the toast app or at the register. When food is ready, they bring it to you. Food ranged from tacos to salads and sandwiches. Lots of mixed drinks on the menu but no sodas. Free water from a spigot inside. I ordered a carne asada taco and a Caesar salad. The salad was heavy with dressing and I only ate about 1/2 of it due to that and some questionable lettuce pieces. The taco was amazing!

I like the tacos, the beers, the design and the vibe. The kind service just makes it even better.

On our first night in Mammoth, we stopped by Shelter Distilling since most places were closed late in the evening. We ordered both food and drinks: BBQ Chicken Pizza, Mexican Pizza, a Smash Burger, Nachos, and the Whiskey Flight. The standout for me was definitely the Smash Burger, it was absolutely delicious! The pizzas were decent, but nothing particularly extraordinary. The service was fine, and the interior had a cozy, inviting vibe that made for a pleasant atmosphere. Overall, the food was okay, but it's a great spot to hang out with friends, enjoy a drink, and grab some quick bites.

I am diabetic and have a service dog. The waiter said my dog was not a service with no knowledge and started arguing with us even though we said we would eat outside. This is a federal law to not discriminate. Please train your staff properly.

A must visit while in Mammoth for lunch, dinner or happy hour. Great food, at reasonable prices and a fun ambiance. Service is helpful and friendly - you self seat and order from a QR code at your table. Food comes out quickly and they have large selection of both food and beer and cocktails. Our favorites were the shrimp tacos, the sushi rolls, and they had an excellent beet salad. Everything looked fresh and delicious and we look forward to coming back.

Food was great!! Service not so great I wish they had better service.. it would have been 5 stars because the food is as delicious as it looks. They were not welcoming, nor were they friendly. No one greeted us. When we walked in, they just sort of stare at you and you immediately could sense they didn't enjoy their job at all. This was just the vibe we got. It's expensive food and drinks but based on the lack of interaction and no one literally greeting us, we didn't feel like they appreciated our business so unfortunately we will not go there. It wasn't that busy either when we went.. so I was really disappointed that they didn't prioritize customer service at all.

I fell in love with this distillery a couple years ago. Their whisky is on point! We happened in there in our attempt to complete the Eastern Sierra Ale Trail challenge (which we did). They have the most amazing old fashions which I cannot recommend highly enough! They thankfully, sell bottles of their concoctions. Any time we are in Mammoth, this is a must stop!

Love the ability to order via toastab on your phone! The flight is a great way to try different spirits. The ube bae was also great and had a super strong and authentic ube flavor. Not a huge fan of the agua Fresca I ordered, but everything else was fantastic!

Came for the drinks, stayed for the food and will be back! Do yourself a favor and add this to your list of places to stop in and enjoy. The tacos were delicious, highly recommend the pork belly and the mahi. The whiskey sour was also delicious!

I ordered 3 tacos and they were amazing!! They are pretty fast to bring you order after you make it. The restaurant is really nice.

Stumbled on this place while checking out the village and decided to stop in. We got the garlic cheese curds, which had good garlic flavor and were well seasoned, but the curds were still half cold! Wish they had them in the fryer a bit longer so they would've been fresh. Maybe they were an old order. My partner got the pear martini, which to him was just okay, would not necessarily order again. No wait since we came in the middle of the day, service was quick.

We had dinner here twice! We definitely enjoyed shelter and food here from the cold weather after days of hiking and fishing :) (1st Visit) TACO TUESDAY: is quite awesome here, they have a variety of tacos in the menu for $4/taco and cocktails at $10/drink... what a deal!! (: The tacos were delicious and the cocktails were very well made! (2nd) Visit: Dinner on a Wednesday evening - they had a live band. It was crowded, we sat at the bar and ordered thru the QR code, which was easy and you can keep your tab open. ** The Spicy Tuna Hand-roll was great! What a good portion and the Spicy Tuna was fresh! ** Shrimp Tempura was yummy as well - served with Slaw and it was crisp perfectly. ** Shishito Peppers were alright... great portion to share, it could use a bit more roasting. ** Artichoke Dip with Poblano Peppers was so good!! Scrumptious (: First come for serve - lots of indoor and outdoor seating. It gets busy quick for dinner and during Happy Hour. They distill their own bottles of beer and liquors which is fantastic! Parking can be challenging in Mammoth Village - we found street parking for free in the neighborhood street. Paid parking lots are available too. We will visit here again, next time we're in town!

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Cool distillery and brewery with some quality product. After I tasted their hazy ipa at Liberty Bar in town I realized I hadn't been back since my first visit a few years ago and set out to remedy that. I got to go on a Monday afternoon, which meant no crowds. I got a flight of their lager, hazy ipa and cider. The lager and ipa were fine, but the cider was a bit more funky than I would've liked. I got tasters of some of their bourbons and left with a bottle of their blue corn bourbon and a 4-pack of their hazy ipa to take back home. The bartender was super-nice and was very accommodating with tasters. There was an unfortunately strong smoke smell thar evening due to something happening in their kitchen, but overall it was a fine visit. A good place to grab a drink if you're in mammoth village.

This is my favorite go to place in Mammoth Village, the only issue is the limited capacity and their lack of reservations. their drinks are wonderful, very refreshing with unique flavors. They are extremely quick to prepare foods, the foods are pretty good for a mountain pub as well. their pizzas are my favorite. I also had their Ceasor salad and it was really good. I got their blue label Bourbon for a friend, and I heard them really liking it. the place itself is designed very uniquely. highly suggest it if you are staying here,

Stefania was the best server in the place by far! Very attentive and caring. As soon as we walked up to the bar, she took our order straight away. Would recommend to any customer! Good food, drinks, and service.

This place is incredible. We got the Alfredo pasta, which was delicious. We also had the asada tacos, also amazing. They have tvs and good music. Would recommend.

The staff was super friendly. Even though we arrived 15 min before the kitchen closed they quickly got our order in and asked us what kind of drinks we liked and made great recommendations. They also make their own cream sodas great for the kiddos. We were staying at the village lodge glad we found them.

Thursday Eve, Late June: The whole "find your own spot and order" awareness could use some improvement. I watched a party of three ahead of us at a bit of a loss looking for some guidance while employees just blasted on by. Having been here the day prior, I knew the gig and found a non-bussed table in the back. We had to bus the table to the opposite end. An employee finally came out to bus part of the plates, but as of now, 10 minutes in, they're still there. Mobile ordering was easy. Seeing photos of the food and drink would be a nice touch. We tried getting the heater over to our table but table 28, due to placement, can't have a heater nearby. Food came out about 30 minutes after order. Hawaiian Pizza was great. Tasted homemade. Volcano Roll was the best meal our daughter has had. Best beet for the Beet Salad mom had. Food comes out as it's ready, so don't expect a table to get everything at once. Great brews. The latest IPA was a delight. Sounds like they move on to a new brew after each is finished.
