Amazing experience! We came for lunch and had the Katsu curry and the Golden roll (rainbow roll with chief picked sashimi) Rolls came out fast and top tier sushi quality! Staff was friendly and engaging too, we will be back!

Well now, this is a nice gem tucked away in the mine of food options that is downtown Orlando. I'm in Orlando a couple times a year, and I've been to sushi restaurants all over this nation. I don't foresee myself returning to this city with out stopping for some food from Shin Japanese cuisine. Walking in we were greeted by a wonderful host, whom turned out to be our server as well. She was quite kind and knowledgeable about the food options, even telling us where the scallops were sourced from. Two other employees also interacted with us running our food and refilling drinks, both were over the top kind and polite. Overall the service from everyone was 10/10. For the food, we started with the Spicy Garlic Edamame and a Miso soup. The Miso was quite nice and the Edamame was absolutely out of this world. What a wonderful blend of garlic, soy, and edamame with just a hint of spice to it. Moving on to our rolls, I had one of the specials of the day: Scallop nigiri. Perfectly fresh and a butter like texture. My main roll was the Double Spicy Salmon Roll. It was wonderfully fresh salmon, avocado, sriracha sauce topped with salmon, Serrano pepper, spicy mayo and wasabi tobiko. Normally such a busy roll isn't my jam, but this was phenomenal. My partner had the Salmon Roe (Ikura), the scallop special and the Freshwater Eel as nigiri. They reported back all were out of this world being fresh and wonderful. For their roll they enjoyed the Creamy Salmon, which was Shrimp tempura, avocado, cream cheese topped with torched creamy salmon, drizzled with eel sauce and spicy mayo. Having gotten to try one of these myself, It tastes perfectly like its name would imply and was amazing. In closing, I would suggest you run to Shin's next chance you're in the area. If you like Japanese Cuisine you're doing a disservice to yourself by not trying this hidden star.

Had an absolutely amazing experience here. The staff was incredibly friendly and the food was wow! Had the garlic edamame, scallop / ikura / and unagi nigiri, and the creamy salmon roll.

I visited 80 different sushi restaurants since last year and this was definitely the best of the best I try not to repeat restaurants but I've been here many times and it's just so good. Fresh Tasty Delightful Best sushi in orlando I always come down to shin when I want flawless sushi you'll never be disappointed

Incredible Japanese food in a lovely place. The sushi was done by Mikako and the service was so friendly! The curry is a MUST HAVE and I only had half of my meal and I was already full. The menu and the website is all in Japanese so you know it's legit. I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants great Japanese food.

My boyfriend and I are in Orlando for just 2 nights. Our flight was good but we got scammed with our car rental and had to rent another car. I was having a bad day and difficulty finding gluten free/dairy free restaurants. Florida is NOT the place if you have dietary restrictions. Japanese food is usually safe and I was fortunate to come across Shin Japanese Cuisine in my search. The food was fantastic! Beautiful presentation, unique sushi roll options, and a great drink menu. Our waitress was AWESOME. I highly recommend eating here.

There is a Happy Hour from 5:30 to 7 pm where some drinks are $2 off and some appetizers are just $6. Pictured is the avocado salad with yuzu dressing from the $6 menu, and it was so delicious and a generous portion. My brother had the tamago sushi (also pictured) and chicken karage with rice. I also got spicy garlic edamame for $6, and it was such large portion. The staff were so polite and attentive, the bathrooms and restaurant were clean, and it was a fantastic experience all around. Highly recommended!

Hands down my favorite go to sushi spot. I've lived below them for 8 years, and to this day I crave their sushi.

Used to frequent this place for their one roll, the Shin Hotate roll. But I decided to try something different, the Shin Volcano roll, which is a volcano roll when ordered at other restaurants. It was good, no complaints but was $18... pretty pricey. It came out with fire on liquor that was in a cucumber, which was cool... but I'm there for the food. I don't need a fire show for my sushi roll... lol. The sushi's were all good. I have old pictures posted in this post from my past review. No complaints. But what got me was the chicken katsu curry. Is this a kid's menu??? And for $19? You must be kidding me. This is the saddest chicken katsu dish I embrace ever seen. And for $19???? Come on Shin... you guys can do way better than that... I was extremely disappointed with the katsu dish. This dish is what made this review a three star. And also our server didn't seem like the nicest server either. She seemed to keep rushing us and really just didn't seem like she wanted to be there working... bleh. Our experience yesterday was hands down, not great. Don't know if we will be back. If we do come back, it'll just be for the rolls. No more non-fish dishes.

Orlando--Amazingly delicious sushi!! we went on a weekday and it was still busy busy with lunchtime visitors. That told us that the food was probably spectacular. All of our entrees were fresh and delicious. The cucumber and scallop salad was to die for! Definitely will be returning to this amazing sushi spot!

I wish half stars were a thing, because I felt this restaurant deserved a 3.5, but I'm choosing to round up since I feel 3 would be too low of a rating. I had never heard of this spot before and was intrigued since I know most of the best sushi spots in Orlando, and after seeing their high ratings, needless to say I was looking forward to my visit. When my brother and I arrived at lunch time, we asked the hostess if we could sit at an outdoor table to which she responded yes. After about 15 minutes of waiting with no one coming to greet us or to even hand us menus, we wondered if they had forgotten we were out there. However, the strong wind & chilly weather caused us to change our minds and we headed back indoors. Once seated, we were greeted and handed menus. Shortly after, we placed our orders for the lunch specials (I got 2 rolls, he got 3) and I felt the pricing was extremely fair ($16 for 2, $20 for 3) especially since it included soup & salad (both tasted great and I especially loved their ginger dressing). I opted for the spicy tuna and spicy salmon. Neither really blew me away, but when I tried the sweet potato tempura roll my brother had ordered, I knew I had messed up - Super yummy and full of flavor. I would go back again just for that. The environment wasn't anything too upscale, but it was clean, nicely decorated & modern. I'm not sure if I would hit up this spot for dinner, but I would absolutely return to take advantage of their affordable lunch special and to sample a few other rolls on the menu that caught my eye!

Shin has a nice relaxed feel, we sat on the patio which was shaded though windy this particular night. Service was good, was given recommendations based on what I liked. The food was good however did take a little longer than expected, it helped we order the gyoza before (not pictured). This could be because we came an hour before closing and looked to have a lot of to go orders as well. The Snow White was good, I expected to enjoy the creamy salmon more . It was also good just the mouthful of salmon was almost too much at times, but a very good portion of meat.

I love the sushi here! The sushi always tastes fresh and is made to order. I live close by but even if I didn't I would still make the trip because that's how good it is. Every roll I've tried here has been delicious but the kamikaze is my favorite for sure. Be sure to check it out if you're looking for sushi downtown!

I've been here two times in the last month or so and both times did not disappoint. One of my friend's favorite spots. They are open just a couple hours throughout the day. Lunch is 11:30-1:30pm and dinner is from 5:30pm-8:30pm, so plan accordingly. They have a good menu with plenty of sushi options. Waiters are always friendly and accommodating. Both indoor and outdoor seating available. Try the Lobster Roll, a bit pricey at $30, but worth it if you want to splurge. Everything else on the menu is pretty well/average priced.

The 6 of us shared 2 combos for 2, Tempura shrimp and vegetables and mango salmon roll. For the 2 combos, it comes with an Option 1 and Option 2 roll each, so we got the spicy salmon, spicy tuna, ocean 14, and beauty and the beast. All was fairly good and standard, no complaints really. They did forget the mango salmon roll at first, and when we reminded them, it was clear from the making that they made it in a rush. Also had a glass of onigoroshi (liked this one more, slightly sweeter but less cloying to me) and sasameyuki.

Wow! Great sushi just a short walk from our Hotel. We had a server who looked like the Dad from Pixar's Inside Out. He was great and very attentive. My fiance is a very cautious sushi eater so our 5 rolls included California, Spicy Tuna, Spicy Salmon, shrimp tempura and a rainbow roll. We also ordered miso soup. The soup came out right out and it warmed us up on the cool night. Our sushi wasn't far behind and all the rolls looked beautiful. My rainbow roll with every piece tasted fresh and brought new flavor from the previous piece. The sushi chefs behind the counter genuinely thanked us for coming in. The perfect little date night during our time in Orlando.

After traveling outer states, my cravings for sushi has skyrocketed! I look for sushi restaurants in the local area and this pops up so nice and pretty! After one week I finally arrive at the restaurant. It is in the downtown area with plenty of free parallel parking, or you can also pay $1 per hour to park in the garage. They provide a good amount of room indoor and a few outdoor tables. All the employees are professionals especially at greeting and serving! There are only three items on my mind after reading reviews: the Baked mussels first, then the Volcano roll and Shin Hotake roll comes after. Baked Mussels are price at $8 for 5 mussels, which is a wee bit expensive in my opinion, but the quality and taste of it compensates for it. As far as I know , there are no hair in the mussels. The sauce they lavish on the mussels are lightly sweet and baked;sooo good! Makes me want to slurp the whole thing but too embarrassing to do so. Shin Volcano roll dish (about $18) is more than I expected especially with the hot, creamy shredded crabmeat on top of the rolls along with various seafoods. It has quality and quantity as well as great esthetic display! Volcano is my favorite so far! The last one is the Shin Hotake (about $16). Not sure what is inside but it tastes like asparagus and top with some kind of juicy raw seafood. First time I do not mind a vegetable sushi! The table next to me keeps wowing my dishes and eyeing my dining experience! Love it! I come here on lunch hours, so not sure about dinner menu. Definitely recommend here and will be back!

Terrible customer service, the server lady with dark hair and glasses was so rude from the beginning. That wasn't the worst part, I ordered a salmon entree which wasn't good honestly either, and they brought everything at once so I couldn't take my time with the soup & salad. The tables are very small and the blonde server started spraying the tables around us with some cleaning product. I thought I could get over that but then the other one brings a mop that smelled like bleach and cleans the floor right next to our table. I couldn't even enjoy my meal, sucks because I hadn't seen my sister in so long and that was our meeting/ meal that I was looking forward to. Then to top it off I'm half way through my food and she asks if the checks were separate or together. And brought the bill fast, it's so inconsiderate of the guest. Like I'm spending money here and just trying to enjoy my meal with my sister. Also made snarky comments when my sister asked for a fork, it's a lot. I wish I could say the food was worth it but it wasn't. Please do better, I will never go there again or recommend to anyone. There's better places downtown.

Fantastic. Service was wonderful. They were able to explain the dishes and I was very happy with my choices. I started with the ceviche which was light and delicious. I did light rice and happy hour Pinot Grigio. Great food, great price and perfect location

The sushi rolls were very good. I got 3: Aloha Roll, Beauty and the Beast and Surf and Turf rolls. They have a small garage of their own but there are other options nearby. Friendly efficient service. The Aloha roll was by far my favorite.

I came here after a long day, and it was only lunchtime. But I just decided to walk in anyway with a friend of mine. We ordered and I couldn't believe how fast the food out here. It was almost like it was premade and waiting for us. I took a suggestion based on our waiter that stated that the chicken nanban was her personal favorite and I decided to just follow through and go with it. It didn't disappoint not one bit, the chicken was absolutely flavorful and super soft. The only way for me to describe this properly would be like general Taos chicken but without the spiciness and without the flour rolled into it, so it's a much healthier piece of chicken. The white rice topped off beautifully as well. The plum wine tasted delicious also, because we had the final one, they ended up putting a small piece of the plum in our glass as well, I ate it and it wasn't that bad. Spring rolls delicious also, and the chili sauce topped it off beautifully. If I were to come back here again I would definitely need to try out their sushi, because I know that's what they're famous for. However if you're just here on lunch and wanted to try something different than just sushi I recommend you look at the "from the kitchen" part of the menu and enjoy yourself!

The sushi here is phenomenal. I really can't say enough good things about it...definitely the best I've had in Orlando. The service is quick at lunch, although the 1:30pm closing time for lunch makes it difficult sometimes (although I've come in at 1:25pm and they've taken my order).

Love that I have a great sushi place just 20 steps from my front door! Great service, fresh and tasty roll selections. Restaurant is always clean and inviting. Shin is a must try. It's my go to for a quick dinner or lunch!

My favorite sushi spot in Orlando and possibly the whole Central Florida area. The Creamy salmon roll is a musttttt try. It's my favorite. I crave it frequently. Pretty sure I've dreamt about it too. Took my mom to Shin recently when she was in town from Alaska and she loved it! Outside dining is so pleasant with the weather this time of the year. Our server was awesome too!

This has become my favorite sushi place in Orlando. They have so many fun combinations, especially for a cooked sushi lover like me (I know I know). I am a sucker for a good salad as well and their house salad with ginger and the avocado with miso are bote amazing. Seriously idk what their ginger is but it is perfect. So you're probably wondering why 4 stars? Well I go here for sushi. I've gotten (on different occasions) pot stickers, and spring rolls. Both were oddly mushy so not great. I'll be trying the kitchen specials soon but I'll always stop here for sushi!

First time at this restaurant. The food was excellent! Very fresh and served very fast for lunch. The service was friendly and attentive. I would recommend this place highly and am looking forward to going there again soon.

I like coming here with my husband. The sushi is always good. The owner is always friendly and inviting. The servers are good and attentive. The sushi is fresh and the food and drinks are good. It's a nice and clean look inside. I would highly recommend this place. You don't have to write much when it's just good that you have to try it for yourself.

This small sushi restaurant is attached to the side of a building that's easily missed, the inside not the most quaint and comfortable, but it has personable wait staff (we were even greeted by the sushi chefs personally when we entered) and delicious sushi. I will say I didn't find the sushi to be the most creative out there. Very simple rolls, but after tasting them, I can understand why. The fish is so fresh and practically melts in your mouth. Each roll we had let the fish shine. I did find the spicy rolls were my favorite since the chefs adorned them with a homemade spicy habanero sauce instead of chopping up the fish and combining it with spicy mayo to be placed inside the roll like many other places do. I was a bit bummed that this place doesn't offer happy hour. Luckily the sushi was decently priced so we didn't break the bank. They also don't offer brown rice, which I understand to a certain extent, but would like that option when I'm trying to stay a bit healthier. All in all I still thoroughly enjoyed this sushi joint and would say from the ones I've been to recently, this lands near the top, mostly due to the quality of the fish you're getting and the freshness they offer. Expand the creativity in their rolls a bit and they would have a regular customer in me.

My new favorite sushi place in Orlando. I had ubereats delivery recently and everything I ordered was fresh and delicious and great quality. My second time trying was for lunch at the restaurant. They have great lunch sushi deals and everything I had was great including the salad and miso soup that come with the lunch. Service was a bit slow but the restaurant was super busy. Can't wait to try more of the menu!

A common thread on the thoughts I share about my dining experiences is to give major kudos to those who have the guts to take the risk and open an eating establishment. This is not for the faint of heart and it is always appreciated that someone feels strong enough about their culinary abilities that the want to share it with the Universe. With this in mind, I come out of the gate with 5 solid stars, but then you add the human component; and this is where things get a bit tricky. Shin Japanese Cuisine has a fantastic menu, it is quite obvious and evident that the food is prepared with care and the presentation is flawless. Unfortunately, in this day and age, food allergies are real and serious stuff, however, the waitress could not be less interested and presented no choices or alternatives. Her lack of knowledge, and worse, lack of desire to learn and understand the issues at the table were simply appalling. So, as excited as we were to be able to add Shin to our regular dining list of fine establishments, we were equally saddened at having to drop it because of the actions of an individual. It may seem unfair to hold a place accountable for one person, but the whole picture showed an atmosphere of disregard and lack of concern for real modern world issues. We will return with high hopes, and I look forward to updating my review and give this establishment a well deserved spot in the 5 star Yelp Universe. In the meantime ... we'll see ...

We went hoping for a good sushi dinner and were not disappointed. The sushi was absolutely delicious, the fish melted in your mouth. The sushi rice was perfectly seasoned. We ordered the combo for 2 and it was almost too much food. The only reason they don't have 5 stars is the complete ignorance regarding the GF requests to our server. First of all, she was not quite interested in being there that day, then when I asked if they had Gluten Free soy sauce she said yes. Ok good so far. When I asked her to make sure that they do not add tempura flakes to anything (they did) she looked so confused. The items with tempura flakes my hubby ate, that is fine. Then she gave me no miso soup and my salad with no dressing. When I asked her why she said, because "soy". Whoah there hon... soy isn't the problem in the soy sauce, the wheat they use to ferment it is. She never bothered asking the chef what was safe and just told me that things with soy were not because I asked for GF soy sauce. She literally gave me my salad (iceberg lettuce with cucumbers and tomatoes) dressing free without offering vinegar, GF Tamari, nothing. That is far from yummy. I had to ask her various times if they added soy sauce to the ginger dressing or the miso soup - I explained not all miso paste has gluten to please ask. We definitely will come back because of the quality of the food but I do hope they train their staff better regarding allergies. Trust me, this isn't something I enjoy having to do, and is embarrassing for me to have to ask in the first place but scary that the staff doesn't understand how important it is.

Always like coming here. Shin's is a cool, casual sushi spot. It's conveniently located downtown on Orange north of all the chaos. My most recent trip here was with a friend I hadn't seen in a while and it was a great casual spot to do so. Not too loud and crowded but also had great food. We were welcomed as soon as we came in and we opted to sit at the bar. We both sat right in front of Ken which is the owner of the restaurant and treated ourselves to a sushi combo for two along with a tile fish carpaccio appetizer. The carpaccio came out first. I had never had tile fish before but it was a great choice to have in a carpaccio. Light, lean white meat sliced thinly with just a slight drizzle of ponzu coupled with a slice of Serrano. Perfect amount of sauce with the fish. Next came the soup and salad. The soup was a typical miso but light and warmed the stomach. The salad was a bit different than your typical Japanese ginger salads. The dressing wasn't watery and it had a bit of a sweet peppery-ness to it that I throughly enjoyed. There was also an addition of some sweet corn which was awesome. The main combo arrived shortly after we finished and boy...it was a lot of food! 12 cuts of sashimi, 12 pieces of nigiri AND two rolls. RIP. I was in heaven. We went with spicy tuna and beauty and the beast. It was awesome Will be coming here more regularly.

Let me start this off to set you in the right direction, I do not eat fish. *gasps* but I can still enjoy a sushi restaurant . I've eaten here a few times, take out and dine in and have had great service and food every time. I will say, I've ordered take out during lunch time during the week and it took a while for the servers to bring out the to-go orders, but I can tell it seems to get a bit hectic here during lunch peak hours (noon). And all of the waiters were doing their tables as well as being a front desk person. Props to them, but maybe they should hire an extra leg during lunch time. I've personally tried the sweet potato tempura (To die for!!! Please get, fishy lovers and non)!! And the garden roll. All delicious and fresh tasting. The garden rolls comes with a different veggie wrap around it. I've also tried the green tea ice cream. PLEASE get some of this goodness if you go. It's light so even if you ordered too much food, you can still get a little sweetness before you leave! My friends have tried various rolls and said it's some of the best sushi they've had in a while, so I'll leave it to the other experts to review these goodies. It's all good portion size and fresh as well. Lunch time combos include 2 rolls, miso soup, and salad with ginger sauce and corn. If those side options don't float your boat I'd recommend going at dinner time. It seems that you don't have an option to order two rolls without the sides during lunch. Or maybe I just didn't ask correctly over the phone, but I'll see ! A must try and quaint place to relax at in the NODO area!

Oh my goodness! If you like something spicy you have to try there purée habanero sauce they make in-house. It's amazing on there special rolls but I especially love it in the double spicy salmon roll. Quality fish and great presentations.

I really hate leaving negative reviews but after moving back to the neighborhood, I decided to try Shin again. The chicken katsu was good but the roll and nigiri pieces I ordered were not great. The pieces were huge and hard to eat, Everything was very bland and honestly not worth the price compared to all the amazing sushi options close by.

4.5 stars for a great Japanese lunch spot with large portions of tasty food. My wife took me to Shin the other day to grab some lunch. Located on North Orange near Citrus (be sure to check out their free parking in the back), Shin is a nice and clean little Japanese restaurant with a nice outside seating area that lets you know this will be a good place. We went inside and the server led us to a nice little seat by the window. The interior has a great open and modern feel to it. The server brought us over our menu and told us about a couple of the items that were worth getting. While the blonde server was ok (and honestly I like a server that doesn't talk much), she was a little too cold at times, which keeps this from being a full 5 star review. After looking over the menu for a few minutes, I decided to get the Sweet and Sour chicken (goes by nandan on the menu) and my wife ordered the Lunch set. After a very reasonable amount of time (it seemed like only 5 minutes), our food came out. While my chicken wasn't the biggest portion in the world, it was sizeable enough and had a fun white sauce that went well with the chicken. Fortunately for me, my wife's meal was gigantic! It came with salmon (which was also great with the white sauce), soup, salad, multiple fried items, and 2 sushi rolls. All this for $14! We decided to share our meals with each other, yet we still had leftovers. All of the food was presented well, tasted absolutely great, and was only about $25 combined! I don't know of anywhere else in Downtown Orlando where I can get this much great food in such a short amount of time for such good prices. Overall, Shin is an awesome place to grab some Japanese food on your lunch break. The combination of a nice location, great food, quick wait times, and low prices make this a go-to place for anyone needing to get lunch in Downtown Orlando. It might not be as convenient as some of the other restaurants farther down Orange, but it is definitely worth the hike.

Haven't been to Shin in a long time and I dont know why because the sushi there was to die for! I got there around 8:30pm and there was plenty of seating inside and out. There was really good 80s music playing which I loved! Our waitress was no too cheery but she was professional so I guess I can't really complain there. I had the Crazy 8 roll which seemed to be the only Eel roll they have. It has tuna, krab, avo, topped with Eel. I found that a bit odd there was just 1 choice BUT the roll was amazing and delicious so who cares about options I guess! They have a really good selection of rolls that I really want to try. My husband has sashimi and nigiri and was happy with it too. I also had plum wine and boy was it super strong here. It had a plum inside the bottom of the glass as well. Not sure if that's what made it extra strong. My husband had the Lychee sake and it tasted light and fruity. Overall, a great place to go for a casual or dressy sushi night. The quality of the sushi is going to remind me to keep going back!

Shin sushi has some of the best sushi around Orlando! It's a small sushi spot located just outside of downtown. There are some garage parking spots available, and if those are taken there is quite a bit of street parking! The staff is always super friendly and helpful with any questions or modifications. Luckily I've never had a long wait time here, even when I stop in during lunch or dinner rush. The atmosphere is very laid back and casual. The sushi menu is full of unique rolls. Some of my favorites are the Shin Citron, Creamy Salmon, and Happy Lotus! Since I frequent coming to Shin I've tried quite a few items on their menu and each has been delicious! I've brought quite a few of my friends here as well and they leave asking why I hadn't mentioned Shin sooner! Seriously a great stop for some fresh and mouthwatering sushi!

This needs to be addressed because there was no way I could speak with someone because how busy it was. There was mold in our water glasses, as well as some kind of germs floating. Please make sure it gets resolved and in a few weeks will come back to check. The sushi is awesome but now I am concerned about sanitation issues...

Great sushi, great service! It was actually an accident that we came to be here. We wanted to go to the Mexican place next door but we had a dog with us and they had a private party so we couldn't eat there. So we came here and had a bit of a feast! We started off the with shrimp shumai, ceviche, and the spicy garlic edamame (highly recommend- it was so addicting), all very good. The ceviche was just okay though, it was a bit of a small portion. For sushi we all shared the Citron Two, Beauty and the Beast, Kamikaze, Up-Town, and the Double Salmon. Omg so good. They had such great flavor! I loved how many options there were and such interesting combinations. They also have cooked dishes as well if you aren't into sushi. Would definitely go back!

I can't begin to explain how much I love going here. It's perfect. I live next door so having to just walk across the street to a sushi bar that serves great sushi is my ideal. Honestly, I dread the day I would move knowing I won't have this place so close. My go to is the rainbow roll and spicy salmon roll. If I feel very hungry then I order a miso soup and dessert (tempura banana ice cream bites are to die for). Just recently I ordered the Spicy Sandwich and a miso. The miso was a bit on the salty side but it was dinner time so the soup could have been boiling for a while maybe down to the pot. The sandwiches were my overall favorite, they may replace my usual order. I tend to prefer simplified sushi rolls and this hit the spot. I had the help of another Yelp reviewer's picture to help me determine what I would try that night and it was on point. If you're a foodie like me that prefers simple over extravagant then I highly recommend this. I am definitely a regular and proud to call myself one. I'm still making my way through the menu and happy to do so. I've never been disappointed with their sushi or prices which is why I give it a full 5 stars. I'll always come back.

Such a great sushi place in a great location (North Quarter right outside of Downtown). I have been here a few times for lunch and been pretty happy. But I am even happier to report that they now have a happy hour! Lots of drink deals and awesome $6 appetizers. The fish is very fresh and all the food is of very high quality. The owner is super welcoming and the servers have always been wonderful. Stop by for happy hour or their lunch deals and enjoy!

Picked by my best friend and this place was great! We arrived around 6pm, were quickly seated and brought the menus. She got the Hana lychee sake bottle to share (delicious!) and an order of the garlicy soy sauced edamame which was spicy and yummy. She ordered a spider roll (soft shelled crab roll which our server actually got wrong and it had to be remade), a volcano roll plus the tuna red ruby. My best friend ordered a diet coke for which a can was brought out. Guess they don't believe in free refills unless it's water. I ordered the Bahama roll ($9) plus a scallops volcano ($16). The raw conch inside the Bahama roll was a touch chewy but that's how that is. The scallops volcano had so much topping that I ate the last of it without a sushi piece. It was quite tasty though the small pieces of scallops were tempura fried... with no salt or anything added to it which made them a touch bland. I truly enjoyed this place and want to return to taste other rolls.

My friends and I love Shin - it helps that it's literally across the street from my house. I haven't been there for happy hour but it looks good. One downside is that it's closed on Sundays, and every single time I've been the service takes a while. Don't come here if you're looking for fast service, because it just doesn't happen. Still, the sushi quality is great and it's not badly priced. They have a small beer and wine selection as well.

Best sushi and tempura I've had in Orlando. The lunch specials are more than worth the price. They have some awesome rolls, my Favorites are the Kara Mucho and the Snow White.

First visit at lunch today - very fresh and delicious- pricing was reasonable and server was attentive - I had the avocado salad with mahi tuna, yummy. I had no wait, went right to a table but I arrived at 11:45 - definitely will return to try their sushi rolls. Not a great place for parking but if you work in area it's worth a visit - took points away for the styrofoam takeout container - would have been five stars

Shin's is hands down our favorite and the best sushi restaurant in Orlando. Everything is fresh! Fish imported from Japan regularly. The sushi rice is AMAZING! We eat lots of sushi and the rice is just as important as the fish, if not more important. They get premium rice that other places won't spend the money on. It is not overpriced either. They have great vegan options.. Even a vegetarian sushi platter presentation. The sushi combo for one is the best deal. The restaurant itself is very clean. Chef and owner Ken is very skilled having many many years of making sushi. He takes great pride in the food they put out. All of the sushi chefs are great as well. Servers are also awesome. Great experience every time we go. Go check it out, you won't regret it.

Great spot with awesome lunch choices! Stumbled upon this place trying to find Virgin Olive Market, which sadly is closed down! However, it must've been fate because this place was fabulous! They have a variety of sushi specials and kitchen options for the "not so sushi inclined" (aka me). Prices were really good with a two sushi roll combo costing about $11 and kitchen fares at around $10. I ordered the Spicy Garlic Edamame to start with ($6) which was delicious. Tossed in garlic, chili flakes, and soy sauce. Would definitely recommend to try! But the show stopper for me was the Teriyaki Chicken. Great size portion, chicken was so moist and flavorful and was topped with incredible teriyaki sauce and served with sticky rice... honestly it was one of the best variations I've ever had! If you are in the area and want to try amazing Japanese cuisine, definitely check this place out! It will be one of my new go to spots for sure!

Avoid this place. My wife is Japanese and I've eaten enough sushi to know great vs good vs meh vs _____. I didn't finish my food. Something seemed off. I hope I don't get sick.

Their volcano roll is where it's at. The quality of the sushi is good and the restaurant is clean (plus no fishy smell). I've tried about five other rolls but I still favor the volcano roll. For $14, the volcano roll is huge -- well priced for the amount of food. Parking is street parking or there is a garage off Park Lake. It's never so crowded you can't walk in. Make sure to check the store hours because they close between lunch and dinner.

Shin's is the first restaurant that I had sushi for the very first time, several years ago. I've been hooked on sushi since then. I finally made it back to have some dinner at Shin's with a group of friends. The restaurant set-up is still the same with the posh looking décor. I love the water fountain that is in front of the restaurant. The sushi was just as fantastic as I remembered it was. Also, the single glasses of sake was wonderful- it's served in this little black box that has more sake in it when you drink all of yours in the glass. Service is great. Very attentive and sincere. I need to go back more often!

Shin is consistently amazing! This trendy little spot has a modern interior & always has the sweet tunes playing. I live right next door & I'm there frequently enough that they know what I like without having to ask. I always get a hot green tea, miso soup, salad, crunch eel roll & a salmon mango roll with sweet & spicy sauce. It's the perfect amount of food & it taste oh so good! I have experimented with other rolls (which were equally as amazing) but this is my favorite combination. All the delicious sushi aside the team at Shin is so friendly and welcoming. I almost always have Kristen as my server & she is the bees knees. Tonight I had a new waitress & she was awesome too! Long story short, if you are looking for some awesome sushi make it a point to visit Shin!

I knew we were in for a treat when I saw the Yelp and Zagat stickers in the window of Shin Japanese Cuisine. This may be the best sushi I have ever had!!! We started off our meal with the Tuna Toro Tartar appetizer. The finely chopped toro was served in a wasabi soy sauce over a bed of ice. A quail egg and four different types of roe were served on top of the tuna. This dish was so light and refreshing and really demonstrated the fresh quality seafood used in the restaurant. After our appetizer and miso soup we moved onto the main entree: the Kamikaze roll. The Kamikaze roll contained spicy tuna, jalapeno, habanero puree, and tempura flakes. This roll packs a punch! I noticed this was listed as one of the spiciest rolls on the menu and I love spice. This roll did not disappoint! The spiciness of the roll brought tears to my eyes yet I could not stop eating it because it tasted so good! Had I known the sushi rolls were going to be so good I probably would have ordered a second roll, but we had consumed several appetizers and cocktails earlier in the evening so this was (sadly) all I could possibly eat at Shin. Will 100% visit Shin again when I visit Orlando. This spot is a must for sushi lovers!!!

Tried out this spot out when we were visiting from Arizona! Our hotel the Doubletree Hilton recommended it it's actually right down the street, this place had amazing sushi, edamame and drinks! Everything is fairly priced and the food came out warm, the service was great also which was a plus! Would highly recommend if you're craving sushi in the area!

Good experience all around. Quick service and solid sushi at an affordable price. Will definitely come back to try more rolls. We ordered the ceviche and shumai as appetizers. The ceviche was a very nice mixed ceviche with fennel, octopus, surf clam, shrimp, and whitefish. The shumai was a big miss. Mostly filling and served in my opinion with an odd tartar sauce. We then got 3 rolls pictured below. My favorite was the scallop roll. I love raw scallops and this was done right served on top of tempura asparagus with some citrus, yum! Might be one of my new favorite rolls from anywhere. We also ordered the one with lotus which was very fresh. Then one fried one. More so for my husband, but I did have a piece and it was also good. I liked that it was fried on the outside but the fish was still Med rare on the inside. I think for sushi it was very affordable. No drinks, for the 5 items our brill was around $50 pre-tip.

Horrible service. Ordered and specified no roe. Roe all over my food. Requested soy sauce. No soy sauce. Who prepares sushi and doesn't provide soy sauce. Overpriced and terrible customer service. The lady Chrissy who answers the phone is super condescending too. We won't be back...they don't realize what a big customer they lost!

I call Toronto my main home and Orlando my second home- and whenever I am in Orlando Shin Sushi is definitely one of my all time favourite sushi places between both of my homes. My dad's work is located downtown Orlando and since I was a young girl I have been eating at Shin's regularly. The sushi chefs always recognize my father and the service is consistently phenomenal. One of my favourites is definitely the volcano roll- there is nothing like it. All of the food is authentically Japanese, be sure to try their daily specials. I've gone to many sushi restaurants across North America and quite honestly there is (rarely) any other restaurant that comes close to providing the Shin experience.
