This place was a bit tricky to find, but once I did, I walked into a very fun themed Sports Bar! The ship decor was very fun! They had a variety of sports playing on the TV's and so we were definitely watching some sports while enjoying our food and beverages! Service was great, once we sat down, our server making sure that we were the entire time. The first thing out try a new Chicken Salad on Naan bite. Which is now the Chicken Salad Dip. It had great seasoning, and the crunch from the celery! Lumpia: Now I'm a bit bias, as a Filipina, and I do make my own, I typically make mine with mixed ground meats (either a combo of ground pork, beef, and chicken, or just beef and chicken for my kosher friends.) I don't know if it was the just beef thing, or how it's seasoned, it just tastes different from other Lumpiang Shanghai I've had. But it's still good! Once again, this is a super bias review for lumpia!!!! Please don't mind my pickiness! Far East Nachos: This was really good! I was worried it was going to be more on the sweeter side, but the siracha sauce helped cut through all the sweetness. Definitely good for sharing, though that's what I didn't do. Carene Asada Tots: These are great! The cheese was melty, the asada had great seasoning, and it was cooked at the perfect temp. It was actually a delicious meal. Whiskey Spring Fling: This was so refreshing, it wasn't super sweet, but boy did that drink hit the spot! Shirley Temple: We have to have a non-alcoholic classic somewhere, and this was made to perfection! Overall this place was great! It's a fun sports bar for sure!

We had a small friends meet here and the ambience and their service was great. We tried their Cajun fries, cauliflower, onion rings and buffalo wings. The Cajun fries and cauliflower fries were one of the best we tried. It was so good we had to get it again. Their drinks were great my friends ordered shots and few cocktails which they said tasted great. Overall we loved their location and I believe it will be crowded on weekends. On weekdays we didnt wait to be seated.

Absolutely STELLAR bar/restaurant. ALL the servers and bartenders are amazing. We especially enjoy Fred and Curtis. The loaded potato tacos are too die for! They are a 49ers bar so expect a lot of SF fans during football season. Will come back every single time without a hesitation.

Great vibes and service over here. Our bartender was Chad and he was a pretty cool dude. Asked for some recommendations on drinks and did not do us wrong. He always checked up on us from time to time. This bar has a good selection of food, beer, and mix drinks. They also have a music junk box if you want to play songs but at a price. Will definitely be coming back here. Plenty of parking and don't have a hard time getting here.

Cool, small sports bar. The food was good. Buffalo sliders and wings. Had an Old Fashioned and a Jamie Ginger. The Old Fashioned was bad, but the J/G was good. Don't try to foofoo an Old Fashioned. I'd go back if I was in town. Great place to watch the Dodgers. Big on the Dodgers here.

Just found out about this place. It is hidden gem. The food was really good,(not your typical bar food) drinks good (mixologist) and atmosphere was cool. Sports bar vibes with a touch of restaurant class... TVs everywhere playing all different sports. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable. Check them out. They have happy hour. The personal and cool vibe is very nice.

Food is usually good, but football Sundays? Don't bother. We checked in, gave our number, and got ignored while others walked right in and sat down. It's the second time this has happened (first with the Raider crowd, which I let slide). Clearly, they can't handle game-day service. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else on Sunday's.

DO NOT COME HERE. THEY WILL STEAL FROM YOU. I was just here on mother's day. I don't know if they thought we would not notice because my dad and brother were a little inebriated after being at the renaissance faire all day (I was sober) but when I gave them my card to pay for three coronas ($20.29), they pulled a cash advance and stole $44.50 from me. My card also charged me a $10 cash advance fee because of it. I NEVER use my credit card to pull cash and certainly didn't at this bar. I've disputed the charge with my credit card but this is so uncomfortable. I really don't know why they thought I wouldn't notice.

My friend brought me to shipmates tonight. Great sports bar, nice crowd, ice cold beer with tons of flatscreen TVs to watch all your favorite games. The staff is very attentive and friendly and provided outstanding customer service. I will definitely be back.

Been here countless of times, always had a great experience. I think what's great which is a total gem is the food they offer here. Usually when you think of a sports bar you might expect subpar appetizers and food but don't be fooled here. It's quite the only local bar my wife and I trust when we want to watch the Dodger game with great beer/drinks and great food around Cerritos. Thanks and we'll see you guys during the playoffs!

Came here on a Wednesday date night. Brittany was so helpful with the menu especially because we were so indecisive. Far east nachos are a must. The taquitos were meat filled and had a little kick to it. Cactus kooler cider was yummy. Awesome music and great vibes! We'll be back again.

Walked in today and was an inviting atmosphere. Service was awesome and the vibe was dope for a Saturday afternoon. We love a place with good music playing, good drinks and the food? AMAZING. The Baja sliders and buffalo wings were delicious. I can not wait to be back to try out the rest of the menu. Great prices and even better service.

I honestly used to love this place so much. It was always my to go bar, until the manager Brittney made it an unpleasant experience for us. She purposely ignored my party when we would call her over.. I tried to be understanding of her when I realized she was the only one on the floor, although everyone around me said she had attitude and was unpleasant. I tried to be the peacemaker until she became really rude. She has no people skills, appears to hate her job, and also appears to have a dislike for anyone who doesn't look like her. Honestly Brittney, if you hate your job please quit, if you're the owner please note that she's not someone who favors clients , and on the contrary pushes people away. I love shipmates and recommended to people from different communities, but as long as she's there, I will do the contrary and encourage people to go elsewhere.

If you're looking for a cool spot to watch games, enjoy well crafted cocktails, and grub on some great food, look no further than Shipmates. This spot has lots of mounted TVs for any sports enthusiasts and the service is impeccable. The ambiance is very lively, festive with a casual vibe. The food was very good for a sports bar, each dish we ordered was delicious, mouthwatering, and flavorful. In conclusion, Shipmates exceeded my expectations and created a great atmosphere to watch sporting events and hang with family and friends. We'll definitely be back!'

Omg I can't believe I've never left a review! It's been a while since I've been here, but when my girl suggested to come here for happy hour, it was a no-brainer! Cuz my usual go-to is the Far East Nachos (cuz they NEVER disappoint!) We decided to order a bunch of food and shared it all! Our waitress was very attentive and I absolutely love the new look inside and out! The music was poppin. The crowd was chill...and I'm glad we got there at 5 to beat the crowd (cuz parking can be a little tricky due to being in between both Gen BBQ locations). I'm sure we'll be back!

Great food options! Love the beer and mixed cocktails selection! Nice waiters and fairly fast service even on a busy night. Nice cold beer! Can get pretty rowdy on a Sunday night for Karoake! Try the mexican lollipop drink or the strawberry mojito if you want vodka! They can always substitute the type of alcohol you want and are nice for accommodations. We love the carne asada fries and the burger sliders here! They have different craft burger options to choose from either bbq or spicy jalapeno.

Stopped in for afternoon drinks. Crowded with people having fun. Friendly bartender. Touch Tunes jukebox is always fun. We didn't eat but we will be back again.

I drive in this area all the time since it is not too far from my house and I had never noticed it since it is hidden in a back corner. Looks nice from the outside (I think the facade in this shopping center was updated recently) and ok in the inside. Lots of TVs but on the weekday that we went there wasn't anything interesting to watch. We had no trouble finding free available parking. Food tasted good but the size to price ratio even with $2 off appetizers for Happy Hour did not make it a good deal. Not all beers are part of the Happy Hour deal...so not even a $1 off the 2 beers I ordered...bummer. The waitress was average at best. Worst of all the music was way too loud to have a comfortable conversation. The music was pretty good...it was just a volume issue. Also, there was a drunk lady that was cackling incessantly and loudly.

Service here was excellent, music was great to my opinion and the beer was better! This is an excellent pit stop if you are stuck waiting for sushi next door!

We are looking for a sports bar to watch some baseball. When we arrived the very, very friendly security guard showed us to a table he highly recommended. There was only football on all of the 23 TVs. I propped up my cell phone, but it kept slipping down, so our waitress came with a heavy candle and told me this will hold it up. I thought that was extremely nice of her. After a little bit, another waitress came and told us she would put the baseball game on two TVs that we were able to see again that was amazing. The two waitresses were extremely attentive we never had to look for anybody they were always on top of everything. I ordered the steak with chimichurri and rice and it was so delicious. I can't wait to go back and get it again. My BF ordered the Asada burrito but he didn't care for the fries inside so next time if he orders it, he'll tell him no fries inside, LOL. Although the crowd was 30 years younger than we were, we never felt out of place. I highly recommend eating here. The food was delicious. My tip is if you are over 50 years old, get there before the 30yr old crowd gets there by 10 PM

Dive bars get a bad rap, and I understand why to a degree: often times they're dark, dirty, and not somewhere you take a date, but I vehemently disagree. Shipmates is a bar where the bartenders know your name and drink. Shipmates is a bar where the doorman allows himself to vibe to the music being played. Shipmates is a bar that has FRED working. I'm a bit biased because I met Fred when we worked at Lucille's. It was my first job as a young 16-year old, and he was this wise, empathetic Jesus-looking dude: good energy, good vibes; dude was clearly raised well. Every so often I'll drop in here to see him, and he'll greet me with the largest of smiles. It's like being welcomed home from family that hasn't seen you in years, even though it's only been months. I only come here for a drink after work because most spots are closed. Even if they were open, I wouldn't be going to them. The staff here makes me feel special. When you're here, you're family...I realize Olive Garden trademarked that, but it doesn't make it any less true here.

Bad service and they only told locals they close early. Terrible service and terrible people. Preferred never to drink when these careless individuals couldnt care enough for their job that they PAID FOR. Don't you professionals close at 2?!? But it's 1:40? Get your service right and treat your guests right.

This place is really cool, cozy sports bar. TVs playing all around. Food portions are pretty big (enough for two people I would say.) The atmosphere and service were on point as well

Looking for a sports bar while in town and found this little gem. Was hard to find at first as it's located in the back corner. Delicious food cold beer and great service. Will definitely be back.

Busy sports bar! Shipmates was packed with lots of sports fans. We were sat pretty promptly, but there were not many servers for how crowded the bar was. Our server was nice but seemed overly stretched. We started with the loaded potato tacos which were tasty but small not much potato filling. Next I had the Hawaiian plate the chicken Katsu was outstanding but the Mac salad lacked flavor.

I came here with an arcade friend to celebrate his birthday. This spot was totally not how the pictures made this place seem. The pictures made it seem like the space is expansive but it's almost too claustrophobic for my personal tastes. Keep in mind, I'm a tall dude, a 6'-4" hulking asian dude. All the tables and chairs were smashed in and were very close in proximity with the one's next door, behind you and in front of you. And this is regardless of whether you sat at the main long tables at the center of the space, the high tabletops and chairs to the left of the main long tables, or the booths that ran along the walls, immediately from your right at the entrance. The front door was inconspicuous. The signage was equally and awkwardly placed where I didn't know where the heck this spot was until I circled all around the damn building and went through a corridor that I thought was just a passthrough to the other side of the building and there wouldn't be a business midway dead smack in the middle of it. It's an oddly design building. When you walk in, immediately to your right is the front desk where they will ID you and then they will designate a spot for you to sit on. You can get a choice of hightop tables for two, which is straight ahead of you from the entrance, the front of bar, which is immediately to your left from the entrance, and the booth tables to your right from the entrance. The restrooms are straight down the hallway from the entrance to the left for dudes and to the right for the ladies. It's not too often that I drive down to the OC, which I'm aware, Cerritos is not technically part of the OC, BUT because it's all the way down south and is close to Buena Park and Anaheim, I'm lumping this town as being part of the OC. That said, parking in this county is generally very easy to find. I had no issues finding parking since Harkins theatre across the street had even more parking spots if you couldn't find parking in the same plaza as Shipmates. That's where I parked and walked over to this plaza. Drinks and food menu are on their website. There's a QR code plaque on each table for you scan with your smartphone but you can absolutely ask the front desk person who will also be your server to give you an actual menu, which she did, in my case. They seem to have a good selection of draft beers on tap and all the popular liquor of choice. They don't have the more fancy, relatively unknown or rare liquors so don't ask for those. Maker's Mark was $11.50 for a shot, for point of reference. I basically drank a double shot neat of that all night. My friend ordered a Tokyo Tea (minus the club soda) and a couple of Mango Carts on draft. Ambiance. This place is super loud. TV's everywhere tuned into sports--there was some type of football event where lots of people dressed in their favorite team's jerseys that night cheering when their team scored a goal. You'll be spending the bulk of the evening in very close proximity to your friends to hear what they are saying. On that note, you'll be hearing everyone else's conversations next to you, behind you and in front of you with HD clarity. Service. It was dodgy. The one and only front desk person that also doubled as the waitress for all the tables inside--that's crazy. It's not very efficient but she was very nice and pleasant to talk to and always made sure to circle back to you even if it'll take her a long while but she'll get back to you. It wasn't really an issue for me and my buddy but it may be an issue if you're the type that wants prompt service. My arcade friend ordered food. I didn't. He seemed to have enjoyed it. He said it was decent. All in all, it wasn't bad. I like it enough that I would stop by again but probably not when there's a football playoff. I would still recommend giving this place a shot, despite the dodgy service that Saturday night.

What a crew! I would give this place 10 Stars if I could! Curtis, Chris, Fred, Corey, and the rest of the crew make me feel like that TV show cheers!

It had been at least 12+ years since the last time I've enjoyed a beer at Shipmates. Tonight's occasion was Thursday night football. The ambiance and service stood out to me. Everyone was so friendly. It was easy to mingle and small talk with everyone and the regulars and locals made for a welcoming environment. Thank you Shipmates!

Ok people now I know why this place has been around since 1972..... best bar food we've had in a long time! The Dodger Bleu burger was on point... had to lick your fingers not to lose any of that goodness. The chicken club sandwich with choice of fries was tender, seasoned well and combined with all the other stuff they put in it, was really hard to stop eating. Why not a 5 star? It's a bar....loud, limited seating to where you might have to wait. Definitely do lunch instead of dinner to enjoy the food... oh, good choice of beers n cocktails. I'm coming back.

I love coming here with my gfs for a drink and to watch football games. The drinks never disappoint! Shout out to Curtis who takes great care of us! The apps are really good and the vibe of the bar is always a good time! Never a dull moment coming here!

Only been for drinks, but it's a great dive bar, loud environment they usually have spots on the tvs. The theme of the bar is carried throughout the bar which is great. The restrooms aren't the best, and depending on the night the servers may be hard to get to your table, but they make up for their good beer and cocktails.

The default neighborhood bar in Cerritos--they offer decent food and beers. Service is decent. Most of the time, you can expect the usual: people imbibing alcohol, watching sports on TV, and some even get excited when their team wins. This, however, is rather rare in the City of Cerritos, a quiet town where most businesses (such as the Mall) are down by 9PM and most people seem to be asleep by 10.

I've been coming here for years. Soccer and lakers games. It's a niners and Green Bay bars at times but the best way I can summarize this when I came for the World Series. What a vibe but our server Cris she is what made it all. Give the girl a raise. Made us feel like vip when we're not. She is everything in a world lost in booze and sports.

Wow wow wow. Let me just start off by saying the food here is sooo good. Really enjoyed how there's a lot of everything to select from in their menu!!! Our server was Jessica and let me tell you.... her smile, great attitude and service was the icing on the cake. Wonderful atmosphere here. TouchTunes was a plus of course!! Definitely bringing my people here. Glad I was able to stumble upon this place. Good job yall !!!

The staff members here are always so welcoming, the prices are reasonable and their food is delicious!!! The taquitos and bulgogi bowl are my favorites!!

Went here with my co-workers and it was such a great experience! The DJ played 2000s R&B and the whole place was a vibe! Loved their nachos and other appetizers and the service was great! Would come back here again!

Usually come here for a couple drinks after work and sit in a booth with my two friends, but security boy in the front today was doing the most, hit my ID with the 27 point inspection check, once I cleared his inspection, he offered us the worst seat in the house, I said we usually sit in a booth (there was 2open) he said not today, you need 4 or more for a booth, and I said we're off to BWW Craig He must've been new, he was doing too much. The regular security guy is cool and the service is always A++, drinks and food are always good. Place is always super chill. The hostess/security guy killed it for me today.

Alright he's the 411 The service is phenomenal. Alex, Jose, Armando, TJ, Myrna, Brittney, Curtis and Fred are amazing. The team here is a tight knit team. The drinks are amazing!!! They pour well. A must is Alex's expresso martini, perfectly severed, and mind you; I've had many. Cheers!! The food is delicious, the cooks are so consistent with the menu that you'll be back for more. Try the tacos, burgers, nachos and steak. They are prepared so perfect. Thank you for the service, the cocktails and food. Cheers!!!

Shipmates has been my go to bar for years! Octavia is the best bartender ever! We are basically friends now but she's always been so nice and welcoming from day 1! The food is great and always fresh and the service is always great as well. I've never had a bad experience at shipmates. It's always a good vibe! I love to introduce people to this hidden gem!

A neighborhood joint that serves some decent bar food and has quite a number of beers on tap. Some co-workers (who are regulars) convinced me to join them here on a weekday night after work for a drink and chow. The interior has several tables and booths with a couple dozen monitors of varying sizes around the room showing sporting events. The music is LOUD which means you will leave the place with a raspy voice from yelling your conversations. A couple glasses of Stella Artois helped sooth my vocal cords during my visit. Service was "okay" at best as was the food. I ordered the classic cheeseburger (lettuce, onions, pickles, tomato) with tots. There was suppose to be thousand island on the burger but if there was, I didn't taste it. The medium-well beef patty was thick with good flavor. Both tots and burger were the epitome of average bar food. The noise level would prevent a return but this would probably be a fun place just to watch a game and down a couple drinks.

This place has a real nice vibe, it is really relaxing. The food is amazing and the beer is really good and plentiful. The bartenders are very patient and nice. I could definitely see myself coming back soon.

Just came in last week for the first time in a decade and this place has gone through a major upgrade. The bouncer working the door was incredibly welcoming too. That's something you dont often see. We just had dinner across the street so we didn't have food but the drinks were strong and the service was very attentive. The entire staff was working as a team which was cool to see. I also like that the DJ wasn't playing the music too loud where you could still have a conversation, but if you wanted to dance you could still have a good time. I'll definitely try this spot out soon for Monday night football as they have good tvs with great placement. Overall great spot to grab drinks with friends or catch a game!

Celebrated my birthday with coworkers, party of 20. Reservations recommended for large groups. Once we arrived our area was decorated with a birthday banner and festive centerpieces! They have a jukebox where my husband spend 30 mins selecting his music. The staff was very attentive and most importantly kept separate checks within our party. The nachos and taquitos were the favorites. The vibe was lively with loud music, it made us get up and dance! Great place for Happy Hour!

Hosted a night out with friends and was looking for a local bar to go to and hang out. Was pleasantly surprised when I went in bar looks like it has been renovated has a big bar and nice size tables to accommodate parties of various sizes. Ordered some food like the nachos and bitch were excellent and tacos were delicious also had the lumpia taquitos which were on point with the sauce. The beer selection is good mixed drinks were priced moderately. Over all service was great we had two servers in charged of our table both were great. Was disappointed with all the 49ers decor but service and food made up for it.

I haven't been to shipmates in a long while and since I was ordering late night I thought I'd try them out again!!! So glad I did!!!! Their food has always been top notch, I just have always liked to try the next new thing but tonight I went back to an "old friend " So happy I did!!! They ran out of pizza which I had been craving so the manager called me to advise , I asked for a burger as a replacement but due to the system he was unable to modify and so was I... I was willing to cancel the order and revisit another day but Fred said no need in that I will take care of everything for you this once ... he said you guys shouldn't have to go without because of a system limitation... he was so kind and if he only knew how much I needed a win as my daughter and youngest grandchild just got into a horrific car accident where they were both injured and the car was totaled...long story short he saved the day more than he could ever know!!! Shipmates is clean and cozy and definitely a great place to go and chill... they are now going to be my new goto!!! Thanks Fred!!!

Came a few hours ago to try it out with a family member, and I will say, I do no regret it. Food was delicious and the portions were huge. Also not pictured was a hamburger which was delicious as well, the patty was perfectly cooked and juicy. (Sorry couldn't get photo cuz it came after lol). The customer service was great, our waitress was very accommodating and quick. Only complaint I can give is that it gets very noisy because the restaurant is small, but it's expected during peak hours.

Awesome place to hang out, watch a game, score happy hour deals, and have a good time in general. I have had the pleasure of dining here many years ago when the Dodgers started their current streak of extended postseason runs. This place almost looked like Dodgers central with euphoria for every pitch and at-bat. Good times! Fast forward to present day. I have been trying local restaurants all over the OC/LA border cities. I always say that Cerritos is the best city in USA. It has such distinct ethnic diasporas depending on what street you are on, you could feel transported into a different country altogether! Shipmates is one such place. In the midst of all the Asian cuisine, you have this Dodger/Lakers bar that on the surface does not belong, but this is Cerritos for you. Everything belongs! I have had the following foods: Carnesada Tots. Light and proper finger food! Lumpia Egg Rolls. Very good! Taquitos. Very tasty! Far East Nachos. These are soo delicious! Humongous portion for price during happy hour Fried Pickles. Must get. Wings. Very good! And the following drinks: Jameson Green Tea. Brittany bartender special. Love this drink. Vegas Bomb. Mayra bartender special. I liked it. Crown Royal and Ginger Ale. Refreshing as always. Value of your dining tab is tremendous at this restaurant. Portions are adequate and more than plenty for the price point. Alcohol is strong, yet inexpensive. Trust me on the alcohol because I was totally trashed on my visit here on 4/13/22. *Face Palm emoji* Dine here for a good time guys! This restaurant has my 100% recommendation.

Tonight I had a horrible experience I've been at this establishment multiple times and the servers/bartenders have always treated us amazing with food or drink orders tonight this lady didn't catch her name just a ponytail went out of her way to discuss a tab that way already paid with another bartender who did the best to accommodate us and went to say that "we didn't even tip and why would we make a big deal" when we found a fly in our drink and we did leave a cash tip to our actual bartender and proceeded to make a scene saying "our comps matter because we aren't big chain " and created a very hostile environment when we were waiting for our friend to leave mind you BILL WAS PAID FOR and tip included with our bartenders this woman needs better etiquette training please for being a small establishment this matters .... And we will be back and tipping .
